181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoins on the Solana Chain are still thriving. on: April 05, 2024, 09:16:25 PM
For the most part it will be just mostly overhyped nonsense.  The more mania that goes into memecoins the more that get made.  It's spreading the wealth too thin.  Back when doge surged it was because all memecoin focus was centered around it.  Now there's zillions that people follow.  They can't all go up and most of them are worthless.  I'd be weary buying a significant amount of my money in the memecoin trend.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A few crypto questions. on: April 05, 2024, 09:13:21 PM
If you don't know what you are doing then buying amd holding is definitely what you want to do, don't try to beat the market.  And in terms of altcoins you ask a very good question.  If it's an obscure coin that no one is trading you can still hold that coin but it having zero to nothing value does you no good.  So don't get caught holding the bag of some fringe altcoin, you will lose you stack that way.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing poker online better than offline? on: April 05, 2024, 09:11:01 PM
That's a hard no.  You have no idea who is colluding against you when you are online.  I was around for the whole full tilt debacle where there was cheating happening where people could see everyone's cards.  In person you can get an easier feel for tells too.  I'm a player who needs to see people's reactions, I don't just play the cards I play the people too.  In person is way better.

Lots of good games on today.  Coming off a winless night a couple nights ago I need to hit it big today.  Chasing the losses and doubling my bets.  Here is my 3 I'm on so far:

Nuggets -4.5 at home.  Seems like a suspect line but I will bite.  Nuts at home I will take em.

Lakers -6.5.  Just don't believe in the Nets.  Late season push Lakers win by double digits here.

Mavericks -2.5.  I don't like betting against the Rockets right now but they can't win them all.  Think Dallas matches up well here and break their run.

Enjoy the games and good luck!

Nice 3-0 sweep last night.  The only thing that sucked was the Knicks dropping a tough one against okcity.

Tonight I got 3 bets in:

1) Hornets +17.5.  Logic says Celtics destroy here but Hornets are home and I think they can keep this either close enough or backdoor a cover near the end of the game.
2) Pacers-12.5.  At home and against the Nets who are on the second night of a back to back.  Gimme the Pacers here.
3) bulls -2 at home against the Hawks.  Toss up game but since it's almost a pickem  give me the home team here.

Good luck everyone!

Another positive night 2-1.  Tonight I took some of the later games.  So far got 3 in.

1) Denver -15.5 at home against the Spurs.  Tough matchup for the Spurs, think jokic runs this game and they blowout the Spurs.

2) Clippers +3.5 away at the Kings. I still like the Clippers and this seems like a late season game that will be tight.  Give me the dog in this game.

3) Dallas-1.5 away against the Warriors.  I was actually going to bet the Warriors here but I just can't.  This seems like a home game they win but I'm fading them towards the end of the year.  Dallas to win here.

Good luck everyone and enjoy the games.

Wow that went bad 0-3.  Was hoping to nail the last game with the mavs shouldn't went with my gut on that one.  Those are the breaks.  Back at it tonight with 3 more:

Suns -5.5.  Clevland on the second night of a road back to back, give me so.e home cooking and the Suns.
Pelicans -4.5. Tough game but I like the home team here.  Pels beat a good orlando team tonight.
Pacers -7.5 on the road against a terrible Nets team.

Hoping for another sweep tonight (hopefully on the right side lol).

Another brutal night 1-2.  Just glad Suns came though to semi save my night.  Was not raised a quitter so here are the 3 games I got today need a winning day here:

Heat -3.5 at home against the sixers.  Should be a good game but I like the close spread with Miami at home.

Rockets +4.5 at home.  Obviously a huge game for both teams.  Shoukd be a tight one til the end I like the Rockets getting points at home.

Nuggets -3.5 on the road against the Clippers.  With kawhi out I like Denver to take this one down.

Good luck everyone!

Not gonna lie another 0-3 night this has been absolutely brutal so far this week.  Again I wasn't raised a quitter so I'm in on another 3 games tonight.

1) knicks +1.5 on the road against the bulls.  Tough news with julius going down for the year but the Villanova fellas are holding strong.  I like the Knicks to win this one here.
2) Celtics- 9.5 at home against the kings.  Kings with a tough game on the second night of an east coast back to back.  I like the Celtics here.
3) heat -3.5 on the road, both teams played last night and Rockets took a huge hit to theor chances.  I like Miami to take advantage of a down team.

Good luck everyone!

One thing to notice about the Malachi Flynn game is that dude managed to score 50 points with amazing efficiency, 18/25 fg is not what you are used to seeing from a 50 point game, and yet Pistons still lost the game. Do you know how bad you have to be to not win a game when just one of your players play like that?

I mean there is a reason why they broke the longest losing streak in the world type of record, they are seriously bad, like as in even worse than "trust the process" period of sixers, they are the worst team I have ever seen in over 20 years of me watching NBA. You gotta win this game man, dude did everything for you and you still didn't manage to get anything going for the whole game, that makes no sense at all.

I had no idea who he was before the 50 point outburst, which made him the lowest averaging points per game player to ever do it. He had to be efficient as I’m sure it wasn’t in the game plan for him to score so much. It will be interesting to see if he gets more playing time as a result or if it was just a one time fluke.

One time fluke.  He couldn't craxk the rotation in Toronto and was traded to the Knicks along with OG and Precious in the rj and quickly trade.  Flynn was a throw in, and then the Knicks threw him in the bogdonovich and Alex Burks trade when we sent them quintet grimes and Fournier.  Flynn was a throw in there.  I watched him play during his short stint in New York.  Dude was OK and serviceable which is his numbers reflect.  He is a 10 minute a game 4 points off the bench breather for one of the starters.  He would have to take time away from Cunningham and/or ivey which he won't be doing unless one of them go down hard.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MuskyDoge hidden gem? on: April 04, 2024, 03:25:54 PM
Just another dumb useless memecoin.  The one thing I can say is some of the older ones are more apt to semi survive but people tend to jump on the next greatest thing.  I'd steer clear and opt to buy tokens or coins from promising projects.  These coins that try these niche type projects to attach to their portfolio tend to die off quickly.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 04, 2024, 03:23:15 PM
Just funny though that in the beginning and if I still recall it correctly, some of us thinks that Wemby is just over hype rookie and we even put Chet above him for the rookie of the year as Chet is with a good team while Wemby's San Antonio is struggling.

But now we talk about his as DPOY which he is still a huge underdog against his country man @12.00, as compare to Gobert @1.02.

I guess we've seen him enough to say that he is no longer overrated as he has proved his skills already.

I don't think it was that everyone thought he was operated.  The problem with big men like that without the muscle mass behind it you tend to not be able to stay on the court.  He has done an incredible job navigating the physical toughness of the NBA and stay relatively injury free.  Time will tell but I think that's what most people worried about with him.
188  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambling kills the fun in these two cases on: April 04, 2024, 03:20:34 PM
Hi everyone,

One of the common mistakes in the world of gambling now is that some people run to make quick money and are greedy by betting all their money and trying to make gambling their primary source of income. You find them spending hours in casinos and sites, regardless of their losses, trying to make up for it, and this is what often leads to more Of the losses that may lead them to bankruptcy, and there are also those who make betting the only means of entertainment and spending their  free time, even though they do not care about the size of their losses, they ignore the consequences, as the enthusiasm they find while playing will decrease with the passage of time and the matter will become tasteless..

Do not make gambling your only source of income or your only means of entertainment, as this will eliminate the first goal of gambling, which is pleasure.

I agree with this, gambling should be a form of entertainment.  When people use it as theor only source of income you are inevitably going to become bankrupt.  You make terrible gambling decisions when so much is on the line.  You can think rationally when you are just using it to entertain yourself.  Everything in life should be met with moderation and gambling is no different.
189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: House always wins? The case of Trump Plaza. on: April 04, 2024, 03:18:42 PM
This had nothing to do with the house losing.  Trump strategically claims bankruptcy at his properties to help with taxes etc.  Casinos like this always win because slots are one of the biggest attractions and they can set the win percentage.  The casino was just old and with other new casinos coming in, it wasn't worth it to upgrade the casino.

Diversifying into one of the longest running coin protocols is never a bad thing.  I don't think in the long run holding memecoins is something anyone should do, so dumping shib is definitely not a bad move.  In the short term you might have some opportunity loss but knowing you are holding for 5 years or more I like it.  Only better move is to get all of that back into bitcoin and ride that train.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoin expansion, now set to hold a live conference.. on: April 03, 2024, 05:24:42 PM
Hey everyone, happy new month! Since the beginning of the year, there has been an impressive rise in memecoins, and despite some disapproval, many of us have profited. Some time ago, I started a thread discussing memecoins with utilities, and they were diverse views on the matter, but let's put that aside for now.

Here's another piece of news that caught my attention: the first physical memecoin conference, set to take place in Lisbon, Portugal. It's quite far for me, so I won't be attending, but for degens, it could be a valuable experience. You can connect, network, and of course, enjoy the party. What do you all think about this? Could it usher in a new era of memecoins?

https://cryptorank.io/earn/quests/memecon-conference-raffle

It's probably the most pointless convention you've ever seen.  All of these coins and tokens are just ponzis hoping to drag more people in so you can dump your useless tokens for a higher price.  What can they possibly have workshops on lol.  Going to check it out for the lols and hopefully for kicks that they video the conference.  I don't know if any town can handle that many defense in one location at the same time 😂
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Simple mistake that makes you lose everything on: April 03, 2024, 05:21:37 PM
This was big back in the day with poker.  Unstable sites or my own connection I would time out from betting and miss out on a winning hand.  It used to annoy me to the point of putting me on tilt.  Was not mature enough to let it slide.  I started betting more hands than I normally would chasing down that missed pot.  I don't let those things bother me anymore.  It leads to bad habits.

I don't think Oklahoma can be considered a championship team since it is just their beginning and they haven't even entered the playoffs with this core. A formidable team—yes,  we can say that—a championship? I don't really know. Yes, they are having a great season, which is a good beginning for them since everyone is waiting for this to come since they traded all of their superstars and gained a lot of round picks. Playoffs are a different environment; players with experience are more likely to win in the playoffs. That's why veteran presence is needed in these kinds of games. Just look at the Memphis Grizzlies and Kings last year; they got beaten by the Lakers and the Warriors, a team that possesses a lot of playoff experience.

But let's see if this year's playoff will be a different story. Can we see the Timberwolves and Thunder make it past the first round?
I think the Timberwolves and OKC might be able to advance past the 1st round of the playoffs as long as they don't face the Suns or Warriors. If they happen to face them, there's a big chance they'll be eliminated in the 1st round of the playoffs. I believe these two teams can handle the Mavericks and Pelicans, but the Warriors and Suns are somewhat strong in my opinion.

Right now the Timberwolves would destroy golden state in a 7 game series.  Warriors might be able to win 1 maybe 2 but to win multiple games in a row against the wolves ain't happening.  Okc too.  The team they need to worry about is seeing the Nuggets in the conference finals.  Warriors aren't the same team.  Besides steph the rest of the squad is a shell of thoer former selves.  Their run is over.

Yeah I've lost money gambling but it has served as a source of entertainment so I don't regret ever knowing about gambling.  I think once somebody loses the enjoyment of gambling than that's the time you need to ask yourself if ypu should be gambling anymore.  I know people who have a pretty bad addiction they are dealing with and I'm sure those folks would tell you yeah they wished they never found gambling.  Probably going to get a lot of those split answers depending on each person's enjoyment factor or the success of gambling factor.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does prediction in sport work for you? on: April 01, 2024, 06:29:04 PM
Hi,

The development of gambling over the past years has brought with it many connections, as methods and types have evolved with the creation of more games. We can gamble on everything and in everything, and among the well-known things in our current time, especially in sports, is the emergence of individuals and sites specialized in gambling prediction and expectations and majorities rely on them before making their bets, due to the amount of information and recommendations they obtain from the site owners.

If you are interested in gambling on sports, do you rely on prediction betting sites? Why?
What is the most prominent site you rely on?

I gamble on sports and don't rely on any services.  For me personally I need to feel comfortable with the bet because I understand the risks involved.  That tends to leave me betting on games I understand and sports I follow so I can calculate trends, injury status, etc.  Also for me gambling is a form of entertainment, if I bet on sports I don't like to watch then I don't see the point in it for me.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 01, 2024, 06:26:36 PM
The reason why I'm not addicted to gambling is because even before I started to play gambling I already understand gambling and its addiction, and my understanding has helped me on how to follow up gambling. Sometimes I ask myself why do people get addicted to gambling, is it because they have no understanding or awareness about the addiction of gamble.

I think majority of people who are addicted to gambling is because they do not understand gambling as beginners, the rules and the side effects of playing gambling excessively.

I think if gambling companies can help to giving beginners to understand gambling and addiction it will help and reduce the rate at which people get addicted o gambling, I mean good lesson for people to get understanding.  Or do gambling companies benefit from gamblers who are addicted, which the awareness of getting addicted can affect their business?.

These companies have a moral and sometimes legal reason to protect people from getting addicted and ruining theor lives but that conflicts with them being a for profit business.  Ultimately it's up to the individual to understand their own self.  If they are apt to get addicted to things easy they should just steer clear.  Everyone is responsible for theor own actions.
