181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: October 06, 2023, 05:01:31 AM
Yes, that is also true.
Just like the great Mike Tyson side:

everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face

I definitely believe that to be true.
I obviously do not think that Los Santos does not have any chance.
He definitely has a chance, but I guess that's the best he has.
Shakur should end up being the winner of this fight.

The best he's got is a chance? Haha, so you're saying he still won't win, huh? That's pretty straightforward, man. Well, judging by the betting odds, it looks like Shakur would probably treat De Los Santos like an amateur boxer. On paper, they're just not on the same level.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 06, 2023, 03:47:12 AM
It looks like the Philadelphia 76ers have finally caved to Harden’s pressure and will be shipping him to the Clippers. The Clippers are said to be doing everything in their power to make it happen. After all the offseason drama it seems like Harden is going to end up getting what he wants, while Dame didn’t get the trade he wanted, but might get himself a ring.
I'm getting a bit skeptical about what I read online these days. Just two days ago, NBC News posted an article saying the Clippers aren't really focused on Harden and aren't making a good enough offer for the trade.

Do you have any up-to-date news to share? It seems like you were pretty confident that Harden was headed to the Clippers.

183  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading purely based on luck. on: October 05, 2023, 09:31:58 PM
Your trading experiment might probably work in three days but not sustainable enough to work for long term. That is because luck is not the only requirement in trading but you need knowledge and skills as well so you will be able to succeed on your trades regardless on the position of the market. Although being emotionless in trading will help you to be successful, but we all know it’s a lot different when we are trading with our live account as emotions will always be there triggering our trades.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons of my experience and knowledge about Bitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 08:41:43 PM
_ Attend meet up and conference, the Bitcoin community is awesome.

Though this is not necessarily bad, just be cautious that it could be a security and privacy nightmare. Probably wear a facemask and a cap, and don't go straight home after the conference/meetup, instead, go to a very public place like a mall first. Just to be sure as to prevent people from following you.

https://chainsec.io/wrench-attack
True, just for security measures, people will assume that you have huge bitcoin investment and plan negative against you so the best solution is to make them lost by not going straight into your home. Instead, stay in public places first where police officers are nearby so that if ever they will harm you, you can easily call the attention of the police and start targeting them. Be cautious and wise at all times.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 05, 2023, 09:20:21 AM
He just showed up so he gets paid. I do not for 1 second think that the issues in Philly are over not do I think they will make a deep run in the playoffs if they reach them. The east is shaping up to be pretty tough.

But his performance is also crucial because the Sixers chose not to trade him. Once his contract expires, and if he does not produce good statistics, he won't be able to secure a good contract with a team that might interest him. In short, his market value will drop. Let's just see how the season will go. At least for now, the Sixers' headache has eased a bit, as Harden is already participating in practice.

His contract will expire next season, so it's unlikely that he will be traded. What Harden did is just a sign of professionalism; he is under contract and needs to honor it by playing. Aside from a possible lawsuit, the amount he won't earn next season if he doesn't play is $35,640,000, which is a substantial sum.

AFAIK, the rule is, no play, no pay, especially intentional.
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: October 04, 2023, 09:38:57 PM
The problem is most of the casino is connected to each other so they share information about certain customers that gives them a hard time then later on him too. The person we are talking about here is a high roller with a very good analysis skills which means this person is a threat to casino industry.

Not only physical casino but also online casino is banning user or limiting their bets if they are winning too much. No business will allow someone to continuously drain their bankroll while they have a lot of customers contributing to the profit which they can focus on.
Yes, that information will be shared with other casinos to be careful of people with such high luck. Every casino owner will protect his business and limit the bets of people who usually win a lot of money. And if casinos can limit those people's bets, they can still gain an advantage over other gamblers who will lose more often.

Well, it's okay for people who are limited in their gambling and it might be an opportunity for that person to reduce their gambling activities. Think of it as a way to prevent a gambling addiction that the person may already have.
Exactly. We are not just seeing here the welfare of the casino, but even with the gambler as well. If these players will be limited from betting, the advantage is that they can prevent a lot of losses so they can save more from their funds, and most importantly they will avoid gambling additiction. Although it's an initial act for casinos to protect their bankroll, but it's also a way to prevent theirselves from consistent losing.
187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: October 04, 2023, 03:06:55 PM
Well, I respect your post if it's really fear that motivates you to learn. But as far as I know, most of those who are fearful end up losing a lot of opportunities to make profits  because they really think they can't handle its risks. Until they experienced on their own, that's when they realized that they have to overcome their fears or else they won't be successful in the end.

However, for me my motivation to learn is to acquire limitless knowledge and gain financial security in the future. With adequate knowledge, I know I can overcome my losses and start maximizing achieving profits.
188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 04, 2023, 06:00:42 AM
So the odds are now available, and I believe this is in all sportsbooks.

Philippines @ 3.85
China @ 1.23

The handicap is +8.5.

This is a big challenge for the Philippines. It looks like a championship game since China was the heavy favorite to win this competition. Also, the crowd is favoring China, so it's like JB now is playing a Ginebra team where the fans will be so involved. I guess I'm just going to sit this one out. I will still be watching the game, but I choose not to bet on this.

It's quite risky betting on the Philippines, but not betting at all is not fun. Just my personal opinion, they are in the semi-finals, so I'm sure they'll do everything not to be lax on defense like what they did against Jordan. A win here is going to be their ticket to the Finals, so I believe that even if the Philippines are the heavy underdogs, I trust them to upset the host team. I'm not even thinking of betting on the handicap, straight-up win for me.
189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Educate yourself to be a frugal gambler on: October 03, 2023, 09:59:29 PM
Play for fun. If you are not playing for fun, you are doing it wrong. Gambling should be done to entertain yourself only, and always remember that gambling is not a sound financial investment. I have witnessed the horrors of people who blow their kids college funds and life savings on gambling at a Casino. Don't be one of these people. Have a daily or weekly gambling budget and learn which games you like and how to play them so that you can actually have much more fun playing them than just winging any game.
that's what responsible gamblers do. they have consistently allocated their gambling capital. because gambling is a habit or hobby that is quite expensive to do regularly.
many of the gamblers who have no control over their finances are bound to end up very badly. I also see it happen to my friends. telling them may be too late, and when they realize their loss. that will be the best way to admonish them to play appropriately based on our financial capabilities.
Yes, responsible gamblers are already aware about that. Instead of spending big and losing high, they will only stick on spending their spare money so that if ever they lose it, it will never affect their finances that much. Gambling will never guarantee us successful profits all the time, that's the reason why we should only bet on the amount we can easily manage to lose. It's means to be enjoyed, and that would only be possible if we can limit our losses in gambling so we can enjoy those games to the fullest.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you manage greed to place your bet on: October 03, 2023, 09:21:55 PM
By being a low budget gambler unless if you are a big whale in the gambling casinos that lead you to bet above other gamblers bets. Greed is nothing but a negative emotion that will only put your funds at high risk when you let yourself influenced on it. So if you want to control your greed, stay betting on a minimal amount so that whether it's a win or loss, your finances will never be completely affected.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 03, 2023, 10:10:18 AM
Watch out for this kid, Curmel Moton, a 17 year old protege of Floyd Mayweather.

He moves like a young Floyd, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoG1nAK_28o. So we will see what the future of his kid will be, he has also been compared to Inoue but he said that he is bigger and stronger than Inoue. Definitely worth someone to wait in the next 5 years and for sure with Floyd as his mentor, he will be a champion.

I see the similarity, though I don't think he'll be able to become the next Floyd Mayweather. We will likely see him in a lower division, as he is a short boxer. Currently, he only stands at 5'2", so the moment he becomes a pro, most likely he'll just fight in the bantamweight division or super bantamweight division.

Just to stretch the details about the "MrBeast" news. I don't know why he picked the Hornets but this will be a good one for them.

I don't know exactly how much this kind of jersey-patch partnership costs, but I assume he probably didn't have much of a choice. Most likely, the more popular teams are no longer available to new sponsors because they already have long-term partnerships with big brands. However, it's really cool that an influencer like MrBeast can promote himself this way.

I'm just wondering what kind of expectations Mr. Beast would like to achieve with this kind of move. We all know that he is one of the most popular influencers already, so people already know who he is, and it would be easy for him to market whatever products or services he likes.

As for the figure just to have a slight idea about this deal, this is what happened.

193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquaio vs Mayweather 2 rematch on: October 02, 2023, 11:06:39 AM
Although it's just an exhibition fight, I still find it very interesting to watch.

The first fight seemed like a robbery to some, as Mayweather's style dictated the fight, resulting in a rather boring bout. However, here's an interesting fact: Manny hasn't lost twice in his career against a tough defender; he has always won in a rematch. So, let's see if that trend will continue now that he has retired already.

If that were to happen, I'm sure the trilogy would be even more interesting.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: October 02, 2023, 02:22:25 AM
Crawford criticized the performance of Jermell Charlo in that fight. He's trying to throw himself to the situation so that people will start talking about his challenge to Canelo. I wonder, what would happen to Crawford if he were to face Canelo in a heavier weight class where he isn't as comfortable? Would he face the same fate as Charlo?

195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Youth Gambling on: September 29, 2023, 04:01:48 PM
Among young people is a result of the availability of gambling alternatives, such as sports betting and online gambling. Gambling disorders can have long-term effects on a person's ability to complete their education and choose their future, and young individuals may be particularly susceptible to acquiring these illnesses

This can only happen if they lack the guidance they need and educate them about the harmful effects of gambling, both the government and parents should protect the well-being and the future of young people because this is their hope for their country's better tomorrow, some countries are banning gambling in all their forms or restrict access of the youth to gambling platforms.

The worst that could happen to our youth is to lose their future because of gambling addiction, so parents should check for any sign or hint that their children are hooked on gambling, it's harder to cure a youth than to mature people who got addicted to gambling and so many time will be wasted.

The parents and the government should work hand in hand to protect the youth from engaging into gambling and fall as gambling addicts. As much as they become more aggressive with gambling because of the huge profits it promised, parents should be also be more keen observers to their kids so they won’t do things that will probably make them regret in the future. By educating them and making them aware of gambling consequences, I think that way they will learn how to avoid gambling.
196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the new Apple toys & Invest in Bitcoin, history always repeat itself. on: September 29, 2023, 03:05:19 PM
Although I agree with the cogent points raised by the OP, well I will not keep to it completely. Some of these toys are what makes life easy, and fun..They bring joy no matter how little. And if I can add an ounce of ease, joy and happiness to my life through the purchase of these new Apple toys, I will.

We shouldn't think that when we buy these toys we automatically forget about investing in Bitcoin. Anyone whose DCAing would have no problem with other aspects of their lives. Because the DCA strategy sets the tone for how you fix up the rest of your life. YOLO, so make the best of it whatever way you see fit.
You have a brilliant idea as well. If it what makes us happy and we know we can afford it, then why not? Buying Apple toys does not mean it’s our priority, but rather it’s one way of motivating ourselves to work hard and invest hard so we can have something to spend in the future. But if you can do both, investing in bitcoin and at the same time buying some Apple toys, I think that will be more life’s satisfying.
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 29, 2023, 11:12:32 AM

Which is why Canelo is highly favored in this fight. And Charlo is not just moving up 1 division but 2 divisions north. Another thing is Charlo's over a year of inactivity. Normally, stars will take a tune-up fight after a long layoff or when moving up in weight but this one is different. The money is just too hard to refuse so Charlo has to take the challenge.

Charlo might be sluggish in this fight and it spells disaster as he can be easily cornered by Canelo who likes to fight someone who is flat-footed so he can unleash his deadly power punches.

Just like most people said, this will be an easy fight for Canelo and he shouldn't be slacking on this one because if he loses the fight, it will be disastrous and shameful for him. imagine losing to a guy who is not that active and came to their weight division just to finish him off. neither both boxers underestimates their opponent but whoever wants to win this fight, better to practice and work hard because this is a lifetime opportunity, especially for Charlo, he should be motivated by being the underdog in this fight.

There's nothing to be ashamed of here; his opponent is also a champion, and we don't know what kind of training he has. Canelo won't be a dominant fighter forever, so in case he loses here, he still has a chance to bounce back as it's never the end for him. The schedule of the fight is very close, and soon the speculation will be over as we will finally see a big fight for Canelo. Well, the majority believes Canelo will win, but this is boxing, and nothing is guaranteed even if he thinks he will easily win.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 29, 2023, 07:32:08 AM
Pat could be a  good back court duo with Lillard as he can shoot 3s and can score more than Jae.

That's just probably your personal opinion, but statistics don't lie as Jae Crowder shoots better than Pat Connaughton.

Please refer their respective stats.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/connapa01.html
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/crowdja01.html

Jae is 43.6% while Pat is 33.9%, that's their last season's average, and if you look closely on the stats, Jae's percentage has improve significantly, which is opposite to what happen with Pat.

While the stats may say that Crawdor has a better 3-point shooting percentage, what matters more is the chemistry within the team. Pat has been with the team for 5 seasons, while Crowder has only played 1 season, not even the full season. So, I'm sure they will not only base the decision on shooting percentage; the team will evaluate which of the two players is more deserving to be in the starting lineup.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes just flex it ( luck is all you need) on: September 28, 2023, 09:41:04 PM
Flexing is one way to motivate not only yourself but other people as well that with gambling, everything is still possible, be it making you a winner or a loser at some point. But one piece of advice, never put too serious efforts in gambling knowing how unpredictable the outcome of every game. Yes there's always possibility to win but the higher chances of losing is even greater.
200  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Marry a Coin/Project - Practically Example on: September 28, 2023, 08:31:14 PM
This would apply to those trends that gone short-lived but I think Dogecoin will not die down that easily, it's one of the true decentralized coin that still exist today alongside with Bitcoin. For a trader perspective his conviction could be mocked but for those investors alike that thinks long term I'm sure he would be hailed as a legend. It's all about perspective and I think he knows the risks involved. Just my two cents.

I agree with you, we used to ridicule Dogecoin as a shitcoin, a farce, without value, but what it has achieved today is something we cannot deny. I believe that it will even survive and grow even without Elon because it has existed for a long time and always had a strong community supporting it before Elon used it as a tool to hype. Honestly, if we compare the safety level except bitcoin and ethereum, I even believe that Doge will be safer than BNB, XRP or any other altcoin.

We don't know how much hype it will get in the next bull season but it will never die even if Elon stops toying with it.
Dogecoin has already established its community so I don't think it will easily become a shitcoin knowing it has been the most profitable crypto coin way back then. Not because Elon has completely influenced and hyped Dogecoin, but because the long term investors have seen it coming that Dogecoin has something to hold onto that they don't get to see and experienced from other crypto coin. It's like Dogecoin becomes the biggest competitor of bitcoin when it was still on top of the market.
