1801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with Vega 64 on 17.10.2 - cannot undervolt card on: October 26, 2017, 05:27:36 AM
Hi, I have two Vega 64 cards with a R9 290.  I was using the blockchain drivers previously and was obtaining 44Mhash/card at 130w by applying a registry tweak and OverdriveNT to lower the vcore of each card to 0.8125v.  I just updated the driver to 17.10.2, and while I can easily obtain 44Mhash/card, I cannot get the voltage back down to that level.

I have fiddled around in Wattman.  I have lowered the core clock from 1000mhz all the way down to 870 without getting the lower voltages.  I have tried autovoltage and manual voltage combinations.  For the manual voltage combinations I have tried changing the vcore voltage and the HBM voltage in many combinations, such as vcore/HBM 850/800, 800/850, 950/900, 900/950, etc.  I have tried lowering the power limit.  I have tried combinations of these changes and the best I can get is with lowering the power limit and vcore, I can get to 0.92vcore.

The registry tweak I used before makes my computer not boot into windows.

Anyone have any idea how to undervolt Vega64 to 0.8125v using the 17.10.2 drivers?

what too are u using to check if the voltages are correct ?

I have three vega 56 with 64 bios

seems they can do 1105 mem and 38 eth and 150 lbr or 40 eth solo

the core voltage says .91-.96 in GPUZ , you were getting lower voltages ? I have the same drivers as you.

Also on two cards only half the red lights are lit up but on the other one all the lights are lit up ? wtf ?

Hello everybody!

I have an issue, I can' t start the EthDcrMiner64.exe, it crashes and auto-delete, there is no way to run on User instead of Admin? it request for admin privileges

any solutions?

turn of windows smartscreen

then add an exception for the claymore folder in the windows antivirus

By longer you mean >3 years for eth?

They'd be long gone to PoS before 4GB cards aren't capable enough in mining ETH.

I don't sell my cards so i'm okay with 4GB.

theres other algos to mine though that will hit the 4GB limit in 2019 but i get what you are saying if u never sell cards
1806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ** Breaking News ** Run 12 AMD GPUs on Windows on: October 25, 2017, 09:29:11 PM
works for me with 10 with new drivers atm

I have a 10 GPU rig running now, what I did find is uninstalling afterburner first helps

also with so many GPU it would also sometimes hang on when u run claymore, I fixed this by using -gser 2 option

It still hangs when i try and dual mine so I need to do more tweaking.

ALso AMD settings and MSI after burner do not play nice togther, I decided to roll with wattman since I cannot set the voltages on this mortherboard

sale on these cards

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131720

8GB for 259 lowest I have ever seen a 580 for sale

these cards any good ?

WoW! Prices have certainly dropped on the RX580's looks like the mining bubble is starting to show signs of deflating. Hope these are in stock and not just on back order.

That’s a good price. But if a Gaming X or Nitro+ is available too with a slight price difference, i’d take these rather than the Power Color ones, as they have poor cooling.

I got 4gb Rx580 Nitros last week in Newegg as well for only $302cad or $235usd.

Eight of them 😆

I know 4gb cards are cheap but i prefer 8gb since they have better resale and can mine eth etc or ubiq longr

but the driver is slower than blockchain driver?

because i put in on a computer 1x rx570 when blockchain driver won't run, no idea why, driver install correctly but miner close at start, looks like something is missing
i tried manually install driver, and a cleanup driver but something wrong
i have the same problem on my computer with an r9390 blockchain driver won't work

i put 17.10.2 but it s very slow 22.8mh only dual mining, lost 1mh compared to previous driver i had

i heard there is a setting on the new drivers under global where you have
to flip a toggle for compute workloads so that is probbaly why you are seinf a low hash rate

yup just tried it and one hour in the new drivers are good for now at least, only issue is u have to pick compute workloads for each and every card

, one plus note is i can now change the voltage settings now using wattman , when it would not work in AB wierd

whats goinng on with ATM chain ? no offical thread for it but its up 300% today

Just came on to ask about it, though I see that it's in the green 93%. I wonder what happened there. If all the coins were in circulation it would be in 17th place in market cap.

yeah whats goin on with the coin release

how much are they releaseing to the buyers , i dont think i got all the ATM i bought

They have a poor rma policy .

Do not admit you mine.

Let me look.

Crimson 17.10.2 drivers are here.  Includes compute mode toggle in global settings.

Anyone tried to see if hbcc is working better in this driver yet?

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-17.10.2-Release-Notes.aspx
Relase note mentions up to 12 GPU for compute workloads possible.
I wonder if this includes HBCC
My vegas are in the mail so cannot test myself yet.

Win10 fresh install. After installing new drivers all cards remained as Basic display adapters in device manager. Smiley
So, installed 23aug blockchain drivers instead new ones.

look for the 17.40 drivers they say beta but the work great on my 3 vega rig 40 eth 150 lbr with 1090 mem
1814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 24, 2017, 08:19:42 AM
Someone have tested jet NEW AMD 17.40 drivers for vega? What about hasherate on eth?

Almost as good as BC driver. 0.5-0.8MH/s slower than with BC. But you can adjust clocks and voltages in the wattman.

yup i tried these as well since with blockchain drivers i could not turn off crossfire which was throttiling the other vega card.

I plan to update all my AMD rigs to this new driver

careful buying this board btw on windows 10 you cant undervolt with this board, i have tow 8 card rx580

same issue on this board
1818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 22, 2017, 09:10:40 PM

Im not sure, 2 RX 570 its about 230W and this is 55 Mhs, what about Vega 56 ? 39-43Mhs and what about power consumpiton?
Vega 56 can do 44mhs eth @ 150watt (1220/1100@820mV) or 1940h/s XMR@150watt (1408/1100@875mV) or 43mhs eth + 200mhs lbry @ 210watt (1220/1100@820mV)
2 well tuned polaris cards are still better then 1 vega56 for ETH but vega is better in xmr and dual-mining

how do you change the mv on polaris, i can get to 1100 mem on vega 56 but cant
change the voltage to allow dual mining
Did you mean Vega, not polaris?
You can downvolt Vega with softpowerplay reg mod if you have aug23 blockchain drivers or with regular tools (overdriventool + afterburner) if you run recent amd drivers

polaris cards have never had issues with downvolting,
with my vegas in after burner with the lastest. blockchain drivers the voltage slider is disabled like it is for nvidia cards
even after i enable voltage overclocking and underclocking like i have always done on m polaris rigs

why would have to do a registry hack to undervolt ? Never had to do that on my polaris rigs on the AR 270 asus board
1819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Temperature error? EThereum miner GTX1070 on: October 22, 2017, 04:24:45 PM
1070 solo mining ahould be 181 mhs
eth mining speed is the same no matter if you mining solo or on the pool.
Im saying a six gpu 1070 rig is 30 mhs per card or 180

i have 10 differnt brands and they all mine at 30 mhs unless im dual mining
