1801  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust exchange-traded fund (ETF) will go public following on: January 06, 2015, 08:39:21 PM
The SEC-filings are on Nasdaq, so trustworthy it is, even though no effective date has been scheduled.
"Approximate date of commencement of proposed sale to the public: As soon as practicable after this registration statement becomes effective."

http://secfilings.nasdaq.com/filingFrameset.asp?FileName=0001193125-14-457552.txt&FilePath=\2014\12\31\&CoName=WINKLEVOSS+BITCOIN+TRUST&FormType=S-1%2FA&RcvdDate=12%2F31%2F2014&pdf=

Also, the number of shares will be 1M, and go on offer for $20,09 each.
So $20mil to start with? That's a bit undrwhelming.
1802  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin gambling website - legal or illegal ??? on: January 06, 2015, 08:30:42 PM
If you dont scam them then it is ok, I guess
the point is that he talks about usa which i guess is the only country where people have problems with their bitcoin businesses

oh... it is not a problem if you live in the Czech Republic. In fact, we dont have to pay taxes(it is up to you, you may pay them, if you wish), if paying with bitcoin.
Bitcoin is not considered as currency, so exchanging or paying(and receiving payment) with them is not a problem .
yeah in my country there is the same strategy Cheesy i think only usa people have problems with it

I do think so too... the main problem there is the goverment - they dont people to have money in other currency, because of $. And btc is also helping drug dealers etc. to anonymise their bussinesses.
But surely you can't use tokens to get around all gambling laws, otherwise casinos wouldn't need licences because people bet chips, not money, in them.
1803  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rate of bitcoin searches increasing again on: January 06, 2015, 08:24:23 PM
On google trends here is the surge of new bitcoin searches.

Also recent bitcoin news made CNN.  When bitstamp opens up, a surge of money will reach the exchanges due to the new year and due to new exposure.  This current bitstamp hack has not hurt the price in the least bit.  I think we may be looking at a replication of the silk road incident in October of 2013.

If bitstamp comes back unscathed and just as strong as before, this may be the catalyst to a new rise in bitcoin.

I get the Google trend emails too and had noticed that it has been consistently rising for a while now too: )
1804  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitstamp most likely will buy back the bitcoins they lost on: January 06, 2015, 08:22:07 PM
As long as they don't do the same bs as gox and reopen with bitstamp coins that everyone knows are not real bitcoin!
I expect they will buy them back, some on the exchanges and some off the exchanges.
1805  Economy / Speculation / Re: Really wondering how more bitcoin adoption lowers price? on: January 06, 2015, 01:53:20 PM
It doesn't lead to lower prices, it means that more people will buy it, and hold it as it will be of use.
Lots of people save $ because they can use it, not so much with bitcoin, making it more of a commodity at the moment.

1807  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin gambling website - legal or illegal ??? on: January 06, 2015, 09:49:29 AM
I agree that you need a licence to run a gambling site.
There are probably ways around it, like have 10 people donate money with one getting a 9x money back special, but it's still dodgy
1808  Economy / Gambling / Re: HomeBTC- 3% Hourly for Investment on: January 06, 2015, 09:46:37 AM
Where do the profits come from and if us guaranteed, why do want others involved??
1809  Economy / Gambling / Re: any picks for UFC 182 tonight? Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier on: January 05, 2015, 11:47:36 AM
Yea, for UFC 182 tonight im betting Cerrone and Jones

Cerrone and Jones both won, easy $  Wink
Jones (almost) always win easily! Even when he lost it was because he was beating someone so bad!
1810  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Free money (no risk) on: January 05, 2015, 11:34:05 AM
No risk means it isn't gambling. these are just faucets offering a cent or less per hour.
1811  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price does mining become unprofitable? on: January 04, 2015, 05:56:03 PM
One guy here said his profits already paid for his equipment and he does not pay for electricity because he gets it from a green energy source. He can mine for nothing until his energy generating equipment or mining hardware breaks. No doubt he's in a minority but there must be others like him.
Yup, I'm like him. Except my electricity isn't from a green source. It's free, included in my rent. So I'll never stop mining. As for everyone else? I don't know what their excuse is...
Unless you want to, you know, move or stop renting and become a homeowner.
Yes, of course. Tongue
My meaning was I'll never stop mining as long as I'm renting and have free electricity, cuz, you know, why not?
I hope you aren't in Germany, otherwise you'll end up with a bill at some point for going above the expected usage.
Someone pays at the end of the day, if you are in uni housing then it's probably fine, in private accommodation I doubt your landlord will kindly pay your massive bills!
1812  Economy / Speculation / Re: low prices ? GOOD this is what makes me rich. on: January 04, 2015, 05:21:37 PM
It's binary and always has been. It will either succeed and be worth x fold what it I'd now (x>10) Or it will die.
All we need is one country, one big company, or one killer app to make bitcoin, and the price will be through the roof.

My experiences of using bitcoin make me more sure that it will succeed, decentralised taxis are worth loads more than bitcoin, a decentralised currency, that just seems wrong. I think the problem is that people don't see the problems that fiat has, I think they might soon though.
1813  Economy / Speculation / Re: almost died on: January 04, 2015, 05:10:53 PM
$255! Bloody hell, nothing happens and the price falls out of the long time trading range by almost 20%
Well I will hold and maybe buy more at some point, I don't think the price will never rise above $400 again.
1814  Economy / Gambling / Re: Win88 Casino Winning Streak - Legit? on: January 04, 2015, 03:04:01 PM
If there are enough bets, then amazing streaks will happen frequently.
That the site posted it themselves makes it seem more likely to be true as they can probably just search for streaks and post them when they happen getting them a nice bit of advertising!
1815  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How safe is it to invest in just-dice on: January 04, 2015, 03:01:19 PM
wait does anyone know if theres any faucet that produces clam?  Smiley

There are a couple linked in the Just-Dice FAQ tab.
How many of the 400k clams are yours dooglus?
Are you selling your clams or storing them? If storing you must have built a large percentage of the market!

Dooglus has aroun 246,000 right now Wink

Go to just-dice and type /supply.

Just-dice has 246k CLAM not dooglus. CLAM market cap is now 2000BTC

You will have some answers here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623147.msg10003852#msg10003852

Ok, thanks, interesting stuff!  It still seems like an interesting/weird choice to use CLAMs, but I guess there is method in the madness as trade seems to be pretty good on JD at the moment.
1816  Economy / Gambling / Re: ***** Sports Picks for 2015 ***** on: January 03, 2015, 09:30:01 PM
Why are you just posting the match? Where is your selection for that match? It doesn't seem like a promotion to me, if you want to do this properly share your bets Wink We don't want to see just results like won/lost...

you know that my picks are selling on GT now.
I can not give free money which picks are selling with money on website.
Sorry but, if you want to buy tips you can contact with GT admin.
Firstly, For January, i want to sell  my vip picks on this thread, but some friends did not trust me.
after that, on February, i plan to sell my picks..

No point advertising your picks on here then . You are offering minimum 20 tips per month, and have a record of winning 55% , then 5 more than losses .
If 1 unit is less than 0.02 (which is in most cases) , then person would be at loss. Why should people prefer your picks over the other people offering free picks on threads having more success than that?
He does make profit to be fair, he could average less than 50% and still be in profit.
I would accept any % over zero for lottery wins in my life!

1818  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bounce from here on: January 03, 2015, 09:16:56 PM
Well i hope so, it seems like a sustained attack where every couple of weeks the price gets beaten down 5%
1819  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Buying & selling second hand for bitcoin made easy... on: January 02, 2015, 07:50:43 PM
Well the idea is obviously good, but is it just for America?
How will you deal with scammers? I see voucher cards for sale, they are usually problematic..

Can I sort for end time somewhere? I don't want to say that you should campy eBay, but eBay is pretty well laid out!
1820  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Purse.io - Bitcoin Amazon Marketplace - Save ~10-25% on Amazon Wishlist on: January 02, 2015, 07:46:00 PM
The new fees make it fairly pointless in trying to get more than a 30% discount.

I mean $123 for connecting a buyer and seller seems quite high, unless they want to use that money to somehow incentivise buyers.
