1923  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best exchange to sell BTC for USD? on: November 29, 2013, 06:37:01 AM
coinbase.com it takes 3 days to complete a buy/sell of BTC to USD to/from your bank account. User interface is really easy to use and it supports 2 factor authorization for added security. Fees are really really small, I pay about 17 cents per transaction with them.
1924  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Any Equipment Donations For A New Miner... on: November 28, 2013, 11:14:34 PM
To learn about how to mine, how to connect to a mining pool etc you can just use a GPU. To learn about wallets and how to send BTC just buy 0.01 BTC for $10 and have a go with it.

1932  Economy / Goods / Apple Ipad 2 16GB Black WIFI + ATT 3G Network on: November 19, 2013, 08:57:06 AM
So I'm looking to sell my black Ipad 2 with 16GB that has WIFI + 3G access with AT&T. It has been lightly used for reading purposes over the past 1 year. Total hours spent on it has been pretty minimal since I mainly use my laptop. The Ipad is scratch free and has the latest iOS update for it. It also comes with a case and a stylus pen. See links below for more info. I can post pictures if there are any serious buyers.

Ipad 2 16GB WIFI + 3g
M-Edge black and blue case - Also able to fold up to make a stand in two different ways for the ipad and has a stylus sheath inside

Amazon will straight up give me $190 for it. Brand new it is currently $498 so I'm looking for some amount in between, probably in the $250 area. With the USD/BTC conversion being all over the place recently lets talk prices in USD and then we can convert to BTC before payment is made.

Thanks thomas_s I skipped right over that post. I was looking at the google doc, is this thing already hashing? And if so if I buy a share now is the btc payout scheduled on 12/1 pro-rated?

is the $175 hosting fee on the 1st and 15th of each month deducted from the miner's generated BTC and then BTC payouts are given to the shareholders? Or is the hosting fee applied to each person's payout? I just want to make sure I'm understanding that correctly. Also when is the projected date that this will start mining?
1937  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Should I join a mining pool and which one? on: November 15, 2013, 02:33:31 AM
You will never solo mine a bitcoin since your card would have to solve an entire block and then you would generate 25 bitcoins at all once. Graphics cards are way to slow at current difficulty to solo mine, so if you want to get involved with bitcoin, then join a pool.

Is it worth mining bitcoins with a video card? Simply put, no. But it could be fun and is a great way to learn how to use a pool, send and receive bitcoins etc. You could also buy a few of these ASIC Miners and start a little bitcoin farm. Each of these miners roughly has the power of 1 video card in terms of mining bitcoins. Will you make money off them at current USD/BTC conversions? No. But once again it is a good introduction to bitcoins.
1938  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Ok, What is the safest, most sensible way for Americans to buy BTC these days??? on: November 13, 2013, 05:09:07 PM
Coinbase.com, very easy to use, links straight up to your checking account, it's a US based company and has 2 factor authentication option built in.

320-500W  wtf...   so this is nothing more than the 5ghs blades that were only available in china earlier this year?   same chips, same inefficiency, just packaged up to look like a bfl little single....  Cry Cry  must say im very disappointed in ASICMiner right now...  and no stratum support.... getwork.....

How do you know it doesn't support stratum?
1940  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB Backplane and 1 or 2 blades on: November 12, 2013, 10:43:35 AM
Buy bitcoins with Coinbase and then buy the equipment with bitcoins. It'll be much easier for you to find sellers since people are always afraid of paypal refunds.
