1421  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 18, 2014, 09:37:47 PM
today i switched to other signature campaign while payments are still on hold by PD .. am i still getting payment for last month or is it any kind of breach in terms & condition  ??

I'm sure stunna will stay pay you for last month's posting, you just won't be able to participate in this program as a pay-per-post anymore, or at least until you become a senior member. I have a feeling though that in another month or two the PD campaign will be via referrals only, even for Senior/Hero/Legendary.

If I were you though, I would have at least kept the PD ad in your sig until you got your payout. Now it will raise the question if you actually had the PD link in your sig the entire time or not.
1422  Economy / Services / Re: Pool setup help on: August 18, 2014, 09:15:15 PM
Take a look at NOMP and MPOS, their source is available on github and many very large multipools use it such as trademybit and multipool. Beware of all the scammers that say they created hashbaby.com and want tons of BTC upfront (IDK why they all claim to have created hashbaby /gofigure).

NOMP: https://github.com/zone117x/node-open-mining-portal/
MPOS: https://github.com/MPOS/php-mpos

Often running these pools is a full time job, don't think it's simply install and let the profits run in...especially with high-profit new altcoins that often have forks and require constant client updates etc.
1423  Economy / Services / Re: Paid Per Post for Using A Collective Primedice Referral Link (NOW OPEN) on: August 18, 2014, 09:02:14 PM
Howzar you left this negative feedback for boumalo:
boumalo 0: -0 / +0(0)   2014-08-16   0.00000000   Reference   Stole my idea of a collective referral campaign. For reference is my original thread followed by his copy. Original - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=738554.0

Seems a bit childish that you are so upset about having some competition in regards to a collective ad campaign, which is by no means invented by you or even copyright-able.

I also found these negative comments on your trust:

DiamondCardz 12: -0 / +9(9)   2014-05-22   0.00000000   Reference   Previously banned for spamming PMs to attempt to purchase accounts. I wouldn't trust him.
zolace 0: -0 / +1(1)   2014-05-20   0.00000000      used many alt accounts to cheat the sig campaigns
n00ber 0: -0 / +0(0)   2014-05-09   0.00000000      This guy accuse me of failing his campaign. I add his signature for 25 days. He only pays me for 15 days. He pays me 0.02 not 0.04 btc. I offered him refund but no reply from him about the refund. Instead he wants me to sell my account to him.
U1TRA_L0RD -12: -3 / +0(0)   2014-01-31   0.03000000      Did not pay me back the 0.030 BTC I loaned him in January 14th.

Anyone going into business with Howzar might want to think twice about it.
1424  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Android wallets on: August 18, 2014, 08:33:26 PM
If you want to use the same bitcoins on your android phone as on your/any PC, your best bet is to go with blockchain's wallet. That way they are accessible anywhere in the world, including your phone AND your PC.

1427  Economy / Economics / Re: Stephen Reed's Million Dollar Logistic Model on: August 18, 2014, 03:26:56 AM
Is that taken literally? As in 70,000 squared (4.9 billion) should be bitcoins market cap?
1428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the best age to introduce your kids to Bitcoin? on: August 17, 2014, 09:26:42 AM
I think a good time to get your kids involved with Bitcoin would be around 15-16 years old. I know that's when I was introduced to the stock market and economics in general. Give them some funds to play with, let them invest either in bitcoin or the stock market (or both) and teach them money and investment management. Teaching them early about principles of saving and investing will pay off big for them in the end. Many of the kids today are simply consumers with no interest in their long term wealth accumulation.

I know my child will hear about Bitcoins very early on, simply due to my own interest in them. I talk about it nearly daily with my significant other, so they will be bound to hear about them VERY early on and of course, then questions will be brought up. Kids' minds are knowledge sponges, teach them everything you can as early as they want to learn it Cheesy

For reference, starting new term.

Starting Posts: 645

Stunna you still haven't fixed your google form. You can't fully enroll without claiming a payment afterwards. Thus I submitted my claim twice again (submitted claim, then re-enroll).

what will happen with bitcoin. sell now or buy for 1 year holding ?

Buy and hold, as is my usual advice. Selling when it's low just sounds silly (unless you predict a crash coming). Most people that play the game of trying to buy low and sell high tend to lose Bitcoin in the long term, because prices move quickly and without warning.
now is the bottom?

It would be silly of me to predict exactly where the bottom is, I follow the fundamentals and hope it will be much higher in a few years. Another thing to remember is that a major VC will start purchasing Bitcoins on September 1, 2014, bringing millions of more fresh dollars into Bitcoin.

For the people that will now post that they've made a killing buying/selling at the best times, ask for some proof over a 6 month period...I'd doubt they can provide it. Admittedly I'm sure there are a very select few that have done well, but most don't.
1432  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Calling the Bottom on: August 17, 2014, 07:39:07 AM
When you pick a bottom, all you come away with is a stinky finger. I read this topic in length and all I see are more of the same mendacious ramblings by Mr. Pietila. We both know that bitcoin reached its apex last year and is now in the burn off phase. Why don't you break the act and stop misleading these impressionable people?

You already have a castle and a Rolls Royce. These people need their money to pay their mortgages and put food on their supper tables!

Why join this community of people and participate in it when you believe bitcoin is going to become non-existent? There surely has to be something better to do with your time than talk about this foolish bitcoin stuff....right?
1433  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 17, 2014, 07:31:54 AM
Unless they are doing something fishy like front running, there absolutely had to be more buys than sells. If everyone was selling coinbase would have an excess of coins and little fiat. If everyone is buying they have extra fiat and no coins. It's a simple exchange of goods and they take a cut in both directions. You're right, most people will not be buying from coinbase until they get an official market price again.

If you have demand and you cut of supply, what generally happens to price anyways?

And don't forget that some of the people that wanted to buy off coinbase will now be moving to other places such as their bitstamp account, localbitcoins, mycelium local trades etc etc.

And coinbase will now have to buy more coins off bitstamp...adding some buying pressure.
1434  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 17, 2014, 07:20:52 AM
Whoa, Coinbase is sold out..

Quote
"Note! We've exceeded our normal buy limits for today. If you would still like to purchase you will receive the market price of bitcoin on Friday Aug 22, 2014 at 01:49AM EDT after your funds have arrived. read more

Due to higher than normal buy volumes, we are unable to provide exact price quotes right now.

Instead of pausing buys entirely, we decided to give people the option to purchase bitcoin at the market price in a few days. Once your USD funds arrive, we will exchange them to bitcoin at the market price at approximately Friday Aug 22, 2014 at 01:40AM EDT."

That's bullish right ?!?!?

Here Coinbase explains this on their support pages:

http://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/1148738-what-price-will-i-receive-when-i-buy-or-sell-bitcoin-

http://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/1148739-what-price-will-i-receive-if-i-purchase-once-coinbase-reaches-its-daily-limit-

Extremely, extremely, extremely run for the hills type of bearish news. First, there were a lot of buys because there was a lot of volume and volatility... there was action on both sides of the tape and with Coinbase as a middleman that leaves them dry (and anyways, that is historic, now... it's already priced in). Second, it means NOBODY will be buying from Coinbase all week -- a major purveyor of coins to the Average Joe. Why? Well, because the market is extremely volatile right now and you don't know where the hell the price will be (but assuming even in a worst case scenario there is a recovery by then that price would be HIGHER than it is today... you wouldn't do it).

It's God awful news. I don't know how the hell anybody could read it as positive news. I am certain I am being a bit hyperbolic, but yea... not good.

Newbie you just shorted so your hoping that the market remains bearish in order for yourself to come out the in the green. Coinbase exists to make money. If there is volume in both sells and buys equally on coinbase, coinbase ends up with extra bitcoins and extra USD. There has to be more buys than sells on coinbase in order for them to no longer have any BTC for sell.
1435  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase has sold out of bitcoins for the day. Bullish on: August 17, 2014, 07:14:50 AM
No. First, they'd have to expect the price to be lower on Friday, August 22nd if they are offering you that price. Otherwise, they are losing money. Second, with the market having turned upside down over the past few days, who in their right mind would purchase with a price to be determined several days in advance?

I don't think this is Bullish at all. I see it as problematic (maybe not enough to turn the tide, but Jesus not bullish). Especially because this is where a lot of average Joes buy their coins.

Inverse of that... still doesn't strike me as bullish.

I'm not expecting people to buy several days ahead. What I can only see as good is that coinbase is SOLD OUT. If they aren't selling coins, how do they make any money? That would be a terrible business model. So...why are they sold out? Were there too many buy orders and not enough sell orders? Did people buy more bitcoin than they had predicted and thus didn't have the reserve for? Or are they front running?

Give me an example where coinbase makes money by NOT selling coins or there not being enough buy orders to make them unintentionally run out of coins.

There was more volume than normal. That volume is going to be on both sides of the tape. But, it is volume that already occurred... purchases that already occurred. At best it is already priced in. Again, they are hardly going to be doing any business over the next few days except with absolute lunatics. So, very bearish news.

Don't be silly. If there was more volume on both sides (buys and sells) they would have plenty of supply to keep selling to us. Can it be already priced in? Sure. But now those people that wanted to buy bitcoin from coinbase would have to go to bitstamp and it may create some buying pressure over there. More importantly though is that there were clearly more buys than sells, and coinbase ran out of stock.

The fact that there were enough buys compared to sells to make coinbase run out makes me happy. The alternative that they may be front running, would make it even better.

A little market manipulation and lower than the ATH bitcoin prices for 9 months and suddenly everyone is a bear. I for one see how bitcoin is much more useful than the USD and I consider bitcoin to be in its infancy still (in terms of physical store useability). You should all calm down and enjoy the bumpy ride to the moon.
1438  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase has sold out of bitcoins for the day. Bullish on: August 17, 2014, 06:58:43 AM
If price will increase soon, they would still allow customers to send them money and they reap the benefit of giving less BTC on the 22nd.

Consider a place that sells bitcoins "off the shelf" and runs out of BTC.  If they expect the price to fall several percentage points "soon", it is better for them to turn clients away than to buy more BTC to replenish their stock.

Conversely, if they have a stock of BTC and expect the price to rise significantly "soon",  they will be tempted to tell their customers that their stock ran out.

So, if those reports of (BTC sellers running out of stock) are true, which explanation will be the true one?

1439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase has sold out of bitcoins for the day. Bullish on: August 17, 2014, 06:36:17 AM
Front running.

Which would mean that they are aware of a price increase coming (which would be great) OR they actually had enough buys so that they currently ran out of BTC stock and have to wire more money to an exchange such as Bitstamp for the buys (which would also increase buys and potentially help price).
1440  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase has sold out of bitcoins for the day. Bullish on: August 17, 2014, 06:31:38 AM
yea seems very sketch to me (If I understand it correctly) So you don't get the price locked in, you get the price on the 22nd? IE you buy now at 515 but on fri it is 600 you pay 600??

No, you will still have paid the same amount of USD, but you would receive more or less bitcoins on the 22nd when the transaction actually goes through.

"I acknowledge that the amount of BTC I receive will vary based on future exchange rates. "
