1761  Economy / Services / Re: [HIRING] 0.5BTC for wallet.dat inspection tool on: April 28, 2014, 04:24:59 AM

I don't see the function listed where it can decrypt a wallet with a given password. Is there an option for that within that python script?
1762  Economy / Economics / Re: What is bitcoin for? on: April 28, 2014, 03:27:00 AM
You can use bitcoin to make purchases at the following locations:

1. Overstock.com
2. TigerDirect.com
3. Gyft.com (allows you to then purchase stuff from stores that accept gift cards, but not btc)
4. bitcoinshop.us
5. cryptothrift.com (a bitcoin auction site)

You can also browse all the vendors that accept bitcoin through bitpay.com here: https://bitpay.com/directory#/ (this list is over 20,000 places long)

Also bitcoins are great ways of accepting payment for high risks sells, where the buyer could collect digital goods and then reverse the payment. IE selling serial keys, game currency etc.

Hello Coiner8, if anyone develops this tool for you I will donate some btc to your cause, just message me via PM so I don't have to keep rechecking this post. I also appreciate you putting it as opensource on github.
1764  Economy / Speculation / Re: The People's Republic of China has successfully pumped and dumped Bitcoin on: April 27, 2014, 08:21:42 AM
It doesn't even have to be the whole chinese government really. I just has to be one chinese official that is able to direct PBOC policy or at least send official letters from them, thereby making himself and a few partners that are invested in bitcoin rich, irregardless of what the rest of the chinese government is doing.
1765  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC China stops account funding on: April 27, 2014, 08:16:38 AM
What has occurred every other time the "PBOC" supposedly "bans bitcoin" is that there is about a $50 dip in bitcoin price, the date it is supposed to occur passes and bitcoin price rebounds. Same story, different day. And honestly, if the PBOC actually ever does stop any chinese fiat going into BTC, at least that will get rid of all the bad press around bitcoin problems in china.

Will they be available for free hosting by the 4/23?
1772  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners- Gridseed Blades on: April 20, 2014, 11:18:38 PM
For some reason I only see the blades as being able to "Add to Wishlist" instead of purchase them, did something change?

1774  Economy / Economics / Re: Would World War instantly destroy Bitcoin? on: April 11, 2014, 05:19:55 AM
The real question is....will humans survive a 3rd world war? It only takes 1 group to launch a nuke to spark a chain of nuke launches and the end of the world as we know it.

1776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will LTC grow to 0.25BTC or more? on: March 29, 2014, 05:54:16 AM
If bitcoin becomes very mainstream and can be used is almost all everyday purchases....then people will probably me more inclined to also accept litecoin purchases due to the faster block times. This may lead to an increased ratio of litecoin:bitcoin price. I believe the final ratio will come down to how much each currency is used in everyday transactions.
1777  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Watch out for Coinbase. They robbed me. on: March 29, 2014, 05:50:02 AM
I've never had a single issue with them either.
1778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Middlecoin.com on: March 29, 2014, 05:32:34 AM
Currently, less than 0.005 BTC/MHs. I remember I used to receive 0.05 or 0.07 everyday with 2 MHs, back in the day. MC has lost 2/3 of hashrate due to low profits these days. Not worth mining there anymore.

Thanks. Yeah scrypt miners have really taken a hit in btc per day they can generate. I used to make 0.015/MH/day which I was quite content with.
1779  Economy / Speculation / Re: Too all those saying "China FUD" on: March 28, 2014, 04:23:40 AM
Justify yourselves. I'm tired of hearing this. What makes you keep saying that the China situation is FUD?

As far as I'm aware, it is a FACT that the PBOC issued statements in DECEMBER that third party payment processors and banks should not transact with bitcoin exchanges or in bitcoin. Since then, Chinese exchanges have ignored the guidance and continued to use bank accounts, and attempted other manipulations and tricks in defiance of their government. Bulls have been attempting to use sheer hope and willpower to turn this temporary situation into a permanent one and pretend that nothing ever happened in China and that everything is ok. They are deluded! To think that the Chinese government was not going to enforce PBOC rulings or for the bulls to think that they could go in and change the fabric of the universe to reverse things with their sheer bullishness, enthusiasm, and willpower. Moooooo! No! It was bound to fail eventually. Now the inevitable enforcement action rolls around. Even if the current news is fake (which I'm hearing it probably isn't), enforcement action could STILL be right around the corner, and I've been warning about this months, and how I never really liked this 'recovery' because it was always led by or supported by China which was doomed to fail eventually.

One more thing: Someone argued with me that cash vouchers were the reason everything was ok. You know well as I that it is not cash vouchers but bank transfers that have been moving the real money, cash vouchers are just another trick to defy the government which will probably also be banned, and that cash vouchers are not even on Huobi - the highest volume exchange, so they are practically irrelevant.

So anyway, anyone who still subscribes to the "China FUD" theory, explain yourselves?
1) Why do you think the rulings in December were fake, or did not really imply that bank accounts should not transact with Bitcoin exchanges? Provide proof. If there is a mistranslation, please provide the appropriate translation, and proof of how it is a valid translation.
2) Why do you think the current news is fake? Again, provide proof.

Do you have "proof" from the PBOC that the current news is real? Or do you just have 3rd party online news sources saying that it is real?

I don't really care either way, but if you're so adamant that it is real, can you live up to your own standards and provide proof yourself?
