1381  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Going in hard for mining! Mining Blog! on: August 28, 2014, 03:31:54 AM
Quote
If you are able to generate enough surplus power to run 800 S1 miners why not sell it to the power company?  I would be surprised if a power company flatly refused to take your surplus power.  They can usually resell 'green' power at a premium.

He is selling power to the electricity company already. And they may have a maximum amount of power that they buy off of green electricity farms, thus leading the OP to have a "surplus".

Quote
Any costing of mining would need to include this alternative of selling your surplus power rather than mining.

Also in high electricity cost states the power company still only pays $0.08 per KW. Each antminer will use about 8 KW in a day, which would only be worth $0.65 if sold to the electricity company (these numbers are even lower if in the Mid-west areas with low demand). Antminer S1's will still make $2.38 a day in bitcoin, so even without price speculation the antminers would pay more per KW (not factoring in cooling expenses at the moment)

Quote
Also you would need to clearly understand your legal agreement with your power company.  800 S1s implies a constant 0.25 Megawatts of power needs to be available to your miners on a 24*7 basis.  This is not a good match to the normal solar/wind power generating capacity.

If he has surplus power during the day and stores it in industrial batteries at night, there would be no need to pull any power from the electric company at all (although batteries are very costly if he doesn't already have them)

Quote
You need to totally understand your legal agreement with the "power stations".  Drawing 0.25 Megawatts from the grid at peak load times is not likely to be a free exercise.

Peak hours are during the afternoon at which time the OP already is generating extra electricity from solar/wind and thus would not need to pull any electricity during peak hours

Where is my ref back commission? You said you'd send it by monday which didn't happen.

BitcoinPokerBro I told you this "Ok I see it. Let me make sure that GAW doesn't run with everyone's money over the weekend, and if they respond to me tomorrow (Monday) I'll send you the coins. Only reason I have this check in place right now is because they were supposed to contact me last Friday, but suddenly they are out of the office..."

They did not respond to me on monday and thus I haven't sent the coins. I was finally contacted by GAW today and they said they are sending a wire transfer (instead of the BTC payment that I wanted). So far I see no wire transfer, but with it being past 5pm my time I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope I see it tomorrow. If the wire transfer goes through tomorrow then you will receive your BTC. If gaw miners is running with the BTC then I won't be able to get it back for you. But I'm trying to get you your discount from them on a daily basis, give me some time and I haven't forgot about you.

I also added you to my public list of people I will be giving BTC Back to if GAW doesn't run with it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=750909.0

So far so good..
But today at the same time I havent received payout.. do im the only one here?
And my miners MHS has just doubled . I had 1x 10 MHS and 1 x 5 MHS, now all day its 1x20 and 1x10 MHS..

same here my hash rate has doubled and no payouts today for me either.

Hash rate was doubled for a promotion. I also haven't received a bitcoin payout for today 8/27/14, but it usually occurs in the middle of the night for my time. I have received my 8/26/14 payout and I expect the 8/27/14 payout to be in my account tomorrow (which is why my updates are always 1 day behind)
1384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Miner Discounts - Including Hashlet on: August 28, 2014, 02:03:02 AM
the discoutn coees are not working anymore + they didnt work on hashlets

Yes, Gaw Miners have now disabled all coupon codes on all of their products. In a week or so when they do end up giving out discount codes again, hashlets will no longer be eligible for any of their standard discounts.

With that being said if you are planning to buy hashlets and would like a discount from me personally just follow the instructions in the OP and PM me.
1385  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 27, 2014, 07:15:24 AM
I wonder if this comes from speculation that GABI will be starting their $200 million dollar total of purchases starting on September 1st, 2014 (Monday). Speaking of which....I can no longer find the coindesk article that stated that, anyone know the link?
1386  Economy / Economics / Re: If you are anti-Bitcoin or permabear, why are you here? on: August 27, 2014, 06:53:41 AM
A true permabear would not be an active poster on bitcointalk (maybe just 1-2 posts to say how it will fail then they would probably leave). The posters that appear to be permabears on here are either trolling or attempting to manipulate the bitcoin sentiment of the people on these forums (many of which have a shiz load of bitcoins) for market manipulation.

People like faillling are such a joke at being a troll that I find it to be bullish for him/she/it to spend THAT much time discussing the "future failure" of bitcoin.

Disclosure: Long Bull.
1387  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Gaw Warmachine on: August 27, 2014, 06:44:13 AM
I sold a miner for paypal once. The person used it for a month, then decided that it wasn't profitable anymore. They then destroyed the miner and claimed that it wasn't as described (and just took a month to open the package) and paypal reversed the funds on me.

--Just something to think about.
1388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Hashlet ROI Tracking on: August 27, 2014, 05:09:50 AM
Ok so after the initial dip in BTC/Day on 8/23/14 we then saw an improvement on 8/24/14 which increased the btc payout by 13%. Looks like it held steady to 8/25/14 with just a slight decrease in BTC payouts.

I'm honestly happy that the payout decrease per MH/s did not continue.
1389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Miner Discounts - Including Hashlet on: August 27, 2014, 04:55:15 AM
I got my 15 MH Hashlet yesterday for $299. They're selling for $375 today.

Seems like a decent speculation investment to me! Anyone want to buy my hashlet for $350?

Seems like the WELCOMETOGAW discount code only works for new accounts. I tried it again today and it did not work when I tried to buy more.

Unfortunately GAW Miners just released a message today stating that they are now discontinuing all current discount codes. In a week or so they will re-instate discount codes for their other products, but they will NOT work on their hashlets Sad

friday 22:
i bought 3mh/s there, to "try" zenminer page, all works great

saturday 23:
i bought 2mh more.... but i didn't receive anything... no emails.. support doesn't respond my tickeds...
(i sent the btc, the payment is done, available in blockchain, and was confirmed for the checkout of gaw.)

i lost my money

I haven't gotten any response from my connection at GAW over the week either. I'm guessing/hoping that they just take weekends off.

Bitcoinpokerbro I sent you a PM back. Please let me know what your total purchase price was and I will give you some free BTC for using my links + code

i received all my codes, yesterday, contactos support, in the forum.

This is really weird, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to post on hashtalk.org ....I don't see any "+" or "create new topic" etc.
1391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: GAWMiner Hashlet Discussion Thread on: August 26, 2014, 05:31:23 AM
Where can you get those discounts?

This is the updated list of current GAWMiners discounts here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=750909.0

It's interesting that they increased their hashlet price, I really wasn't expecting that. I wonder if they are running low on stock?
1392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Hashlet ROI Tracking on: August 25, 2014, 05:13:20 AM
So from 8/22 to 8/23 the bitcoins made per day per hashlet has dropped by 14%, increasing the ROI time (if bought today, not including past gains) by 10 days.

1394  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: August 24, 2014, 06:38:58 AM
If you remove the altcoin section the spammers will probably just move into other subforums, do we really want that? I personally have 2 altcoin threads (that I just recently created) and I enjoy knowing that I only have to deal with the altcoin people when I want to (otherwise I can just ignore that subforum)
1395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Hashlet ROI Tracking on: August 24, 2014, 05:13:39 AM
So just after 1 full day of mining the new ROI is looking to be about 6 days longer than expected already....Hopefully that trend does not continue.
1396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Miner Discounts - Including Hashlet on: August 24, 2014, 05:09:02 AM
Do you offer any sort of Ref back commission?

Bitcoinpoker on top of the deals in the discounts I listed above I can offer an additional 1.5% BTC back if you tell me what you will purchase and the total purchase amount after you make the purchase. I will verify it and I can offer 1.5% of your total purchase price back to you, once GAWMiners makes their payouts at least once on their new system.
1397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Miner Discounts - Including Hashlet on: August 24, 2014, 05:07:18 AM
used the usd 10 discount code, works, thanks.

No problem sir! Hopefully more discounts coming sometime next week.

1398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: GAWMiner Hashlet on: August 23, 2014, 04:19:42 AM
I have 375 MH/s in Hashlets and I earn about 0.2 BTC daily and today I am projected 0.25 BTC  Smiley

So you paid them about $6000 or BTC11.76 for that "digital mining power"? You better hope that they don't run with your money. I mean so far they have proven themselves to be very reliable at shipping their hardware, especially by the date they have stated. But buying this digital mining power when we don't know if they actually have the mining power to back it up or not.
1399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Hashlet ROI Tracking on: August 23, 2014, 04:10:24 AM
Yeah I'm not sure yet if the fees are already deducted from the BTC they estimate I will make per day and I have no idea at what rate their fees will be dropping. So with that being said, I plan on just writing down the actual BTC I receive per day and seeing how it all turns out. And there is almost guaranteed to be a difference between BTC ROI and USD ROI, which is why I'm going to keep track of both (bitcoin price is very unlikely to stay the exact same as it is now).

I will take the orb off of your hands. Where around LA are you for local pickup?
