1921  Economy / Economics / Re: How do banks generate income? on: May 15, 2023, 10:21:14 AM
Yeah, the transaction fees.

While we're aching from the transaction fees for Bitcoin, there goes the banks that have been charging a lot for the transfers that we do especially the overseas.

Also don't forget about the maintaining balance, we're obliged to reach that threshold and not to pass on that or else we'll be charged.

This is what makes financial institutions very wealthy.
And another thing is that they're backed by the government so being wealthy and at the same time powerful is what they are.
1922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My experience with memorizing seed phrases on: May 15, 2023, 08:18:15 AM
IIRC, someone has already suggested this in the forum and that was like a year or two ago. I can't really remember but I have seen it here.

I wouldn't do it and that's why I admire those that have a great brain and memory that can do such but still, do some backups as you'll never know what will happen tomorrow if you'll get knocked or what but hopefully, nothing fatal will happen to those people that does this.

As I get older, my memory is becoming weaker so this option is a no for me but those that can really do it, don't forget to strengthen your memory through eating foods that benefits your brain with.
1923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: May 15, 2023, 06:05:36 AM
The balance patch for Dota dropped just before the DPC Tour 3 kicks off within a few hours, and Quinn's heroes (Void Spirit and Pangolier) got nerfed, but that'll only mean he can shift to other good heroes like Puck, Leshrac, and Ember Spirit.  Tongue
The DPC tour 3 is in and I've just watched the first ever game for the SEA region, it's Talon and Team SMG. Both teams have got those heroes you've mentioned, Void Spirit and Pangolier.

Well, it's Mikoto's Void Spirit and that was an easy game for them while Midone played for the Pangolier. As for Quinn, he's honestly got a lot of heroes and this is going to be an easy adjustment for him if those heroes that have been nerfed doesn't look good on him.

3 matches today for the SEA region. There goes the first match and then next matches in particular order will be, Execration vs Bleed and then Blacklist vs Boom.

Just for a note, Bleed's new coach is Misery.
1924  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the difference between banks and big whales in crypto? on: May 14, 2023, 11:43:25 PM
Banks are earning big profit from our deposits, they earn bigger than the interest that we get from our deposit because they put a bigger interest rate through thier borrower's or lenders, i think bank is not too far from big whales in crypto they buy or collect coins in dip and they sell in bull and they earn bigger from the holders that sell at loss  they are almost the same or what? What dou you think?
Whales aren't financial institutions but they're like just us that are individual players on this market. While the banks are financial institutions and they've got a lot of source aside from the deposits that they get from their customers for which will be used for loaning.

As the whales, we don't really know what they do in real life. They could also be the banks, another financial institution but we'll never know who they really are.

From what we've known, they're just the typical big investors that do manipulate and influence the market and what they do isn't different from what we do of buying low and selling high.

There's difference as we don't know exactly the identity of the whales. We are just speculating on who they are.
Also, as mentioned, they seem to be moving on their own as individual players. So we can't determine where they are heading next.
Which means, they don't have concrete path to go to, their movement is more fluid as it depends on the market scenario.
Whereas, banking institutions have their own target before they get into this market as the decision is not only handle by one person but a group of individuals.
Hence, the time of getting decision is not the same with whales. They can't decide on their own as they have others to think about.
I think if it's all about path, they've got clear paths on what they want to take. They're eager to just win their trades and take over those weak hands money as they really are the targets of them.

And for a whale, I am sure that they won't boast that they're a whale even those known crypto personalities that have been known to be holding a lot. They don't boast themselves that they're a whale or they can be a par with the assets or be considered wealthy as a banking institution.

There's really a huge difference on them but comparisons are way far from each other.

1926  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The cost of maintaining wallet on: May 13, 2023, 10:09:04 PM
Those who are running long term investment, always have to undergo the active maintenance of seed phase, password, device for instance if your phone lost, you have to look for a way to restored everything into your new device, most people lost their seed phase, private keys and wallets that's why I have come up with little ideas especially if you're this carefree person.
First time to hear such maintenance about wallets and how you'll keep your seeds. You don't have to do that, you keep the seeds/private keys and you're good. Let the wallet maintain itself as it has the devs while you focus on how you keep those important seeds you own.

Once you own bitcoin wallet or other crypto currency, thinking of how long you can maintain your wallet follows this steps,
First send your seed phase or private keys to your emails, also use them to compose a little song only can listen anytime, write it down in your diaries, and makes sure have a google doc to save your wallet keys and other information.
Why would you send it to emails? That's making your keys at risk. You don't do that or else you'll regret that forever when it happens to you. Hackers are also smart these days, they might analyze what these words are that have been sent to an email.

But if you think that's safe for you, good luck but what's safe to me is to never associate it to any email and keep it offline and plainly in a piece of paper/card board or in an engraved dog tag.
1927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep hodling your Bitcoin on: May 13, 2023, 01:04:45 PM
I think for now many investors who have been strong in investing in Bitcoin even though it is experiencing a decline but they still maintain the Bitcoin they have because they already know that Bitcoin still has a long way to go and will return to get the highest value as it happened last year, for those of us who have been in the crypto world for a long time, when it experiences a decline then we will add our investment if the capital we have is still a lot,
I'm one of those folks that you've described and yes, it's true that we've been holding and keeping our patience because we know what's coming and what's up ahead on this path.

The losers are the impatient people and have to sell because they're in panic. But if they have to sell because there's an unforeseen circumstance wherein the bitcoin they hold is the solution for it to solve that circumstance that has come to them unexpectedly, that's okay.

I'm sure only new investors are worried when the Bitcoin crash occurs.
That's true but even if experienced ones, we feel a bit of nervous. Just a little bit.
1928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help with stuck txid on: May 13, 2023, 10:22:59 AM
Low prio as per mempool is around 29 sat/vb and the medium-high is 31 sat/vb. So, that's close to your 21 sat/vByte.

But the thing here is, we don't know how long or when it shall reach that fee you've made. There's no option but just to wait until a miner confirms that.

Hopefully the fee goes lower with sats/vb and then it'll meet yours.
1929  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do I keep crypto after buying it? on: May 13, 2023, 08:02:27 AM
I think many people have found their assets in trust wallets to be hacked, because soft wallets are an easy target for hackers. If someone does not have money to buy a hard wallet, then instead of a trust wallet, he can also use a mobile phone as a hard wallet. If he install any best soft wallet in this mobile and keep their assets in it and after that don't connect this mobile with internet.Only connect to the internet when withdrawing or depositing your assets.Normally keep this mobile offline.

It can be a great hard wallet for those who don't have the capital to buy a hard wallet and it can be much better and safer than any soft wallet. Here you can keep all your capital safe
They won't be targeted if they will use it correctly and won't just use it for transactions that makes their anonymity exposed. Like those airdrops where they'll use their wallet for sending gas fee, etc.

When someone uses this type of wallet, it's better not to do any outside transactions on it but only yours like transfers you do from wallet to wallet.

@OP as long as it's from a known exchange, you're okay doing transactions with them but you'll be required for KYC since you'll use a credit card. Well, even if you don't, you'll be subject to it. And when you're done buying there, withdraw it and just as what they've said, hold it on your hardware wallet if you got one but if you don't, a wallet where you hold the PKeys.
1930  Economy / Speculation / Re: It was easy to know the SELL of this week with a simple chart analysis on: May 13, 2023, 06:10:09 AM
That's good if you've sold before the plummet and that's really gonna give you some pride on it. Well, keep on doing a good job and now you'll be looking for a nice reentry anytime from now on.

We're not always accurate when we predict the market with the chart analysis(TA) and we have to look also the side of fundamentals. Well, right now I guess that the fees have been also stopping this trend of plummeting.

And that's because the transactions have been dropping as well but it seems that the fees have gone low and this will make the demand higher again. We will see.
1931  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance is withdraws from Canada on: May 12, 2023, 11:50:24 PM
I know that we're against these centralized exchange holding our funds but for the sake of liquidity and support that they're giving to everyone. Thanks to these regulators that are too strict with the compliance that they're giving to these companies like Binance.

They're pushing away huge money that should flow into their economies. And anyway, what they like to implement with that bold part is truly against what crypto is all about.

Maybe we will see another big exchange stop operating on this strict regulatory policy of these countries, next is in EU or maybe it already happened.
That will be for sure and this is the time to shine for those little countries that are crypto friendly.
1932  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is something big happening behind the scenes that no one is talking about? on: May 12, 2023, 09:43:00 PM
Why not crypto gambling sites? For all we know crypto gambling sites are not supernatural or with impenetrable powers that they can't be affected by the so-called economic crisis that has affected so many multinational corporations and companies and if crypto gambling sites are affected then it's no big deal as long as they ain't shutdown but had to cut down some services and packages to keep business moving.
Yeah, they just can't also avoid to experience what these big companies are experiencing so they need to cut their costs.

If we've seen them stopping all of those promotions and great features that we've used to see, we don't need to bother thinking what it has happened. It's a matter of their choice and decision and one big factor is about the cutting of cost as it takes a budget within them.

But as soon as they are able to recover and has got budget within again, they'll no doubt return such.
1933  Economy / Economics / Re: The thin line between contentment & living below potential, Patience & wasting t on: May 12, 2023, 07:38:23 PM
They're just frugally living and they understand that it's not really a matter of what people think of them but what they think of their way of living.

It's also possible that they've been through a lot in their lives and that's why they're trying to be wise with what they've got. That's totally fine and we have the power and control over our finances and that's a good way to preserve wealth and that's through not spending a lot but, only with what's necessary.
1934  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best time of day to send crypto from ledger to exchange? on: May 11, 2023, 10:29:14 PM
Update - almost 5 days since the transaction and it has still not been confirmed and the BTC is no longer showing in my ledger.

The fee I selected was 37.2 and looking at mempool the rates have fallen a lot with Low priority being 38 , Medium 42 & High 45.

Does this mean I am now close to my transaction confirming?
Yeah, likely.

But the fees do still varies from time to time as I can see, the cheapest and low priority is around 43sats/byte and that's above the fee that you've set.

If it's not yet dropped by the network then you're likely to get confirmed as soon as these prio fees go down. Did you used viabtc tool for your transaction and tried to push it with that?
1935  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Importants of PSYCHOLOGY in a trader on: May 11, 2023, 08:48:02 PM
IMHO. You shouldn't put them altogether closely on this thread and you may add some space to make it easier to read for each important factor you've mentioned.

*STAY FLEXIBLE÷ It's very important for trader to remain flexible and consider experimenting from time to time. one of the best ways a trader can learn is by experimenting ( within reason ). The experience may also help reduce emotion influence. This period assessment can help us the trader to correct our mistakes and change our bad habits for trading.

And this isn't just all about being influenced by the market but being a trader with a decisive approach towards the market. You're not easy to be influenced by any other influencer or news that you see.

However, you're also good in adopting any helpful thoughts and sentiments being shared by other traders but you're just going to consider them if they're good enough with your trading strategies.
1936  Economy / Economics / Re: What to do with all guy who loss money to stock market on: May 11, 2023, 06:53:08 PM
By just reading the first part, it's already shady that in investment everyone should be aware of that there's no guaranteed returns.

And if there's an investment that guarantees you a percentage or returns or greatly promises then you're actually going to see your own downfall there.

No refunds with that and it's either the broker took the money and ran away or he's actually saying true thing but no guarantees that the stocks that he has invested in will come back later. Don't get blinded by those words of professional traders as they say, no one can be better than the market.

1938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption for Bitcoin Advances amidst High Network Fee on: May 11, 2023, 11:21:29 AM
It's good to see that learning Bitcoin is being added to the curriculum for some Universities. This is part of technology advance and that's just what they need to do for the new learners and soon to be professionals will have the idea where they can jump off learning Bitcoin and the tech that it has behind which is blockchain.

These high fees will cease soon and that's going to show how strong Bitcoin even on these times. There will always be the solution for every issue that will be seen towards it.
1939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Questions of the day for gamblers on: May 10, 2023, 11:15:33 PM
There's no way that you can leverage your skills or luck because you'll not know that you'll be able to maximize your luck when you gamble and you'll have no idea when it shall go.

Maybe with skills, you can maximize that but particular only to those games that needs some skills. But you can't just do it with those luck based games as that's not going to change anything.

And for the games to play you should be what you're good at, we're all the same with luck based games that's why if you know something within an specific sports then that's probably how you leverage your skills there through sports betting.

This is the reason on why I really recommend playing games that have skill and luck as the certain factors in winning a particular match.

For example, slots rely purely on luck as you cannot apply the aspect of skill in it. On the other hand, if you play card games such as poker, etc. there is at least a certain amount of skill involved that can alter the match to your favour.

Of course if skill is involved, then you have no choice but to really practice and master its craft. But at the end of the day, everything boils down to one's purpose on why they want to gamble in the first place. If you are hoping to make a quick profit/loss, then slots may be the game for you.
That's right.

Whatever you think you're good at and what's the purpose why you want to gamble for this day then that's where the choosing begins. We all understand how's the mechanics for games that relies purely with luck and those that needs to have a combination of it, luck and skill.

You can be good with having the combination of both but you just can't beat those games that are relying mainly with luck. So choose your games and don't be exaggerated with the purpose and goal that you'll be setting within the day.
