Just to give you a glimpse of a currently "crazy" world outside of orderly bitcoin, check out this "rant":

Quote
You need to be using your brain irrationally!! The starting point of this market is that people want to do something with their assets.

Love the enthusiasm, but, boy, it is like 1998 in Internet stocks all over again.

Yep, it's the dot com mentality all over again.

I knew guys back then momentum chasing, FOMO-ing into complete garbage dot com companies. "Chasing yield" as they called it. All of them lost their ass (ets).

Shitcoin scammers have figured out that you don't even need a plausible premise or plan to operate in the black. Just a shitcoin, a one-page mission statement and begin the FOMO pumping. The daytards will come in by the droves, ready to lose it all.

Not sure what it's like in other countries, but in America the few times I've had to go into a doctor's office or a hospital, this is exactly what the doctors and nurses look like now.

Do as I say, not as I do...

sgbett goes into hiding when the price action is up and up, proving him wrong.

Then he waits for a strong dip to show up on this thread again, claiming he'll "soon" be right.

Classic troll.  Roll Eyes

To all pundits how do you guys pronounce Kamala?

"Socialist"
1945  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 11, 2020, 09:41:47 PM
Does anyone actually like this Kamala Harris? Not the libs, not the right, so ...?

Kamala Harris is the toughest prosecutor in the US. Half the population of people in jail have her to thank for it.

Democrats love police that are tough on crime.

Yes, but... I have quite a few Democrat acquaintances, and some former ones, who initially liked and voted for Obama because he was a well-spoken former lawyer, only to become disenchanted with him later on.

They thought he ended up being nothing more than a silver-tongued "Slick Willy" who spoke really eloquently, but ultimately just said a bunch of gibberish nonsense that sounded good to the public, and never really followed through on many of his promises.

That's a lawyer for you. I doubt that she would be any different as VP. Although, what do VPs do anyway?

don't go before showing us your TA

Fat chance on that. I saw in another thread where he said he sold everything at $6k. I smell butthurt.

C'mon, Jono, be a good dog.

Sorry Ed

I do respect most people, you included.  But i dony like to be made out to be a troll, just because i sold at 6k. Cheesy

I was just pinting that out.
Just pointing out, it has gone below 6k since then.

Let me just get this on record..   Are you going to hold your crypto over the next few months?

WTF, you must not know very much about me then.

I've been holding Bitcoin since 2013. I don't do daytarding like you.

Yes. The bull market really started April 2019. What’s started recently is the early main bull phase, it’s Q4 2016 all over again, but different dynamics and themes at play.

https://twitter.com/woonomic/status/1292837821909090304?s=21

That is something similar to what I have been saying, but of course it is nice to hear credible others make similar assertions, too.

My assertion has been that the bull market started in April 2019, but it was not really confirmed as entering into bullish status until about the middle of May 2019.

What a complete clown you are.

you are exactly half way through a bear market as you well know.  You spend your life on this thread trying to convince noobs you know what you are talking about when you're a shill.

sub 2k is inevitable. but you know this and if you don't, you're a moron. So what is it ? a shill or a moron?  I concede there is a high chance you're both.

We MUST be in a new bull run when trolls like you show up.  Wink

Trigger Warning: Businesswire

https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200811005331/en/MicroStrategy-Adopts-Bitcoin-Primary-Treasury-Reserve-Asset

TYSONS CORNER, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), the largest independent publicly-traded business intelligence company, today announced that it has purchased 21,454 bitcoins at an aggregate purchase price of $250 million, inclusive of fees and expenses. The purchase of Bitcoin cryptocurrency was made pursuant to the two-pronged capital allocation strategy previously announced by the company when it released its second quarter 2020 financial results on July 28, 2020.

<snip>

Seriously tho, how the fk is this company still around? And how do they have $250M in cash just laying around?

MicroStrategy had a huge stock run-up during the Dot Com bubble, but crashed massively thereafter and should have gone completely bankrupt. How they survived when so many other dot coms got wiped out is completely beyond me.

It's like these online rags are wolf-in-sheeps-clothing scam delivery vehicles. I'm sure they'll run all kinds of ads for scam coins.

They should just call it "Shitcoin Times".

These people have no idea about bitcoin...wooden scrip? Not sure how it works. Maybe, like a barter?
Some city printed a carton, SAYS that it is worth the number of $$ printed on it. Whaaat?
On the other hand, if locals believe that it does, who is there to say that it doesn't (for local purchases).

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-08-07/a-depression-era-idea-gets-a-new-look-local-money

The idea of local private currency is not a new concept, see the Bristol Pound or the Utah Goldback note.

However, that wooden scrip thing is completely vulnerable to counterfeit.

Damn those nanny-state drivers' licenses.

Am I being forced to be responsible for other people's safety?

If people don't want to share the road with unlicensed drivers, they should stay home.  Angry

I work hard at being a safe driver. I resent the deep state questioning my ability to drive safely.

No worries there Jimbo...once self-driving AI is proven by the state to be safer than human drivers, the nanny state will get rid of driver's licenses entirely and no one will be allowed to drive themselves anymore.

OMG What will the insurance companies do?

Oh I'm pretty certain that the human owners will still have to pay the insurance and be liable if their self-driving cars run over someone.

Ugh, these algorithmic trading patterns are so exhausting and predictable.

Prepare for the "grind it down to just above $11k, spike down hard below $11k, raise it back to $10,990 and goes sideways there for a while...then short squeeze hard bart" pattern.   Roll Eyes

Germany taking a step backwards.
Don't they know that the Honey badger will not be defeated.

Germany has been cucked by leftists beyond any rational measure. As far as I'm concerned, they are well on their way towards becoming a failed state within the next decade, at their current rate of decline.

Very sad to see Germany falling prey to the pitfalls of modern social justice initiatives. I sincerely hope they lose Merkel, and regain a sense of national pride.

Thanks, Soros.

Your post is complete rubbish.

Germany has been ruled by the conservative CDU for decades. The moderate left SPD is in decade long decline, only a shadow of its former strength and soon in oblivion. Their historic mistake was to switch to neo-liberal policy (as did Labour in GB). The SPD was strong in the 70ies, that is long ago.

There is a left wing party Die Linke but it also is in decline.
The Green Party is went from being left in the 80ies and maybe in the 90ies, but they switched to become conservative/new liberal after that.  Many expect a Coalition between the conservatives and the Green Party to rule Germany in the future.

Yes, but I think BobLawblaw's point is that Germany's conservative CDU still supports decidedly non-conservative policy views such as large centralized government, increased citizen surveillance, social welfare state, open arms to refugees, and relatively high taxes.

trying to mix this craziness with the additional craziness of picking and timing the "right" shitcoins is craziness squared. with the additional risk of playing here with illiquid scams, criminal pump&dump schemes and the fact that those assets represent nothing but lies and greed and no technical or economic value whatsoever, this is craziness tripled.

in other words, outright stupid.   I rather miss all the pumping shitcoins. it's the only way to make sure to also miss the dumping shitcoins.

The proof that shitcoins in general have no value is their fad nature. The hot shitcoin du jour always seems to fade away just a year or two later, to be replaced by a new one (or set). I could list a number of "next big coins" from 2016-2017 era that are near completely forgotten now, even by the shitcoin hype beliebers. Same with shitcoins from the 2011-2013 era, and so on.

Meanwhile Bitcoin is a decade+ on, still in its infancy, yet still going strong and gaining in market strength yoy.

TBH, I'm not really impressed with the volume so far. I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion, but it feels as if a single entity (or a small whale group) controls everything in the market float from ~$10,5k to $12k. And it looks as if their mega pump hasn't really attracted other whale traders en masse at this point.

We could have retracement soonish. Prepare to BTFD.

We are still in the beginning phase of a bull run, so no worries there.
