1941  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 30+ Antminer S3's For Sale(Price Update) on: January 07, 2015, 04:15:09 PM
Price Update: $170.00 or .62BTC (at the time of this post)

I will offer you 140 a piece shipped to 89523 for 4 of them WITH power supplies enough to power them all. So I guess 2 750W PSU?

so total deal would be...

560 USD for 4 S3's and 2 750W PSUs.

Lucky you, I myself had JUST bought 2,500 USD in shares, right before this happened.

I find this concept very intriguing. Has the potential for many types of uses.

It's more than intriguing, it's awesome! Come, join the community! Smiley

Well he could be acting like a typical engineer...  The ones I work with are terrible at budgeting there time.  Smart as hell, but suck at everyone thing else.  If Chris had intentions to just runoff I understand the dragging it out bit with the support page and all these painful delay updates, but the auction page leaves me a bit confused

come on dude...there is a simpler explanation....

Maybe and maybe not.  His actions arnt of the typical scammer.   He really does remind me a lot of the engineers that I do work with and with that being said, they are only good at one thing and suck at every other thing.

Well, I guess holding out a glimmer of hope isn't bad, just don't start thinking the company will come back for sure, because the chances of that are rapidly dwindling.
1945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.0 Automated Transactions on: January 07, 2015, 03:25:14 PM
Would it be effective to mine with 100/100 mbs server with plots being stored on a storage server? There is 10TB storage at 10euro/month (vat included) from hubiC.

Doubtful... I would say to be affective mining over a network, you need at LEAST 1000mb connection, otherwise you won't be able to read all the plot files in time, and thus wouldn't be as effective mining.
1946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: LTCgear.com, the best scrypt/scrypt n/X11 cloud mining service, ROI 2 months on: January 07, 2015, 03:17:28 PM
but the auction page leaves me a bit confused

It's to offer a safe way to sell on shares and get the best price for them.

If GAW is any comparison with this, they took weeks to get their marketplace to function as it should. It turned out to be more difficult then they originally thought to implement.

Payouts is what I am hoping gets sorted soon.

Pretty sure I've given up on them, but I really hope it happens.

-[ANNOUNCEMENT (of sad things that may/should have been obvious)]-

I think, at this point... I'm going to go ahead and call it out...

LTCgear, I believe, will not come back to operational status. They were a ponzi, and they've finally reached the point that they can no longer continue...

There are multiple reasons (for me in particular, and many others...) that this is very upsetting... I personally lost more than I'd like to comment on. Some people I know lost a very serious amount, this is very upsetting news for quite a few people, no matter how "obvious" it should have been to everyone.

We all take gambles in the game we all play called crypto, and this particular one, definitely didn't pay off. Sadly.

Yea, they're still dragging it out on their website, but LTCgear is going under, they're over 3 weeks without payments, and it's clear that "Chris" is likely long, long gone.

Hopefully there will be a lawsuit (I will join for sure.) if we can find him, but you know, not even sure if we can do anything. Let alone find him.

another sadness...

The following BURST assets, are affected...

1. Asset BLPTS (long term price support project) - based on LTCgear mining. Thus destroyed (or possibly changed? I don't know, Nevril will likely post an update when he comes to the same inevitable conclusion I have.)

2. ByteGear (Byte Enterprises' asset also fully based on LTCgear mining.) - Destroyed. (ByteGear will be destroyed, if not only just for the name. Legitimate BURST cloud mining operations will take it's place, soon. Those will be fully provable with both mining addresses, and pictures, videos, whatever people want. Once that happens, I will post announcements.)

I sincerely apologize to all that lost money on this, I myself lost quite a bit, and this is very upsetting, losing my hard and early earned BURST, and mostly all my other mined and bought crypto...

a sincere lesson to me to not only just buy hardware for mining... but never keep too much in a single investment, no matter what it is.

Thank you and my sincere apologies.

*yea, if for some reason, and miracle, LTCgear starts working again, we can decide what to do with things at that point, but I very very highly doubt that will happen.

Wanted to make sure everyone saw this...

Yeah this whole cloud mining blowup has me looking at getting S5s delivered here instead of the "cloud" http://bitcoinasichosting.com/ The electricity is pretty cheap and they are a "real" company it seems.

Don't fuck us Chris, please.

So no news yet ?

seems to stay no news around here. I'm looking at those S5's too man, thinking... shit, I've spent over 5k into LTCgear, I should have just bought hardware.
1950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.0 Automated Transactions on: January 06, 2015, 06:39:40 PM
take a look at coinmarketcap today.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/market-cap-by-total-supply/

bitcoin is not any longer by far the marketcap leader of crypto currencies.

This might set the stage for a whole new way of crypto valuation, where firstcomer is not given a very large value, but quality (which can be defined as anything else than time since coin was released) will be factored in way higher.

If valuation and marketcap changes from being almost only how old the coin is, to being what coin has the most features, etc.  then burst might attain a marketcap closer to bitcoin than now.

suppose crypto investors change their mindset from "buy the oldest ones"  to "buy the ones with a bright future" , looking at capabilities and potential....

bitcoin being challenged at the top-1 spot might make many btc investors consider hedging their bets by looking for coins loaded with features...

longtime investors will look for coins with no in-built inflation

burst might go up more than 100 times in value from current levels, from mktcap of 200K to a mkt.cap of 20M

Developers, traders and others getting involved with burst now might profit from that decision beyound their wildest dreams

so here's my outrageous predictions for 2015

- dollar and t-bond collapse sends people into alternative investments in droves, just like the bonds skyrocketed in 2008s, crypto and lots of other alternative investments go crazy in 2015.

- bitcoin is seriously challenged as the crypto with the highest marketcap, appearance of multiwallets with many kinds of coins levels the playing field and the most effective coins win (burst is one of them) out big time

- AT's in burst are invented which solve many problems and needs that other coins can't handle. BURST is highly adopted in many niche fields

- the large base of NXT developers and service suppliers start moving over to BURST to hedge their bets

- nation stats start basing their currencies and reserves off crypto instead of usd, further boosting and validating the concept in general

- early BURST investors and miners and developers gets filthy rich, fending off job offers seems to be their biggest problem

- it is perfectly normal that a pension fund allocates a part of its investments to crypto, just like it does to comodities. This insane influx of new money further boosts all crypto quite a bit

Love it, and I agree. lol.

-[ANNouncement for Byte Enterprises' BETA POOL]-

Hello!

The closed beta pool is up and running, and I need your help!

I need some beta testers with large plots and large size to test the pool. please pm me if you have more than 8TB of space, and would like to participate. The sooner this happens, the sooner I can get the code to open beta and everyone can join!

We need to have enough power to start hitting blocks, to test the payout functions on the pool. So come on guys, let's do this!

Thanks!

I may be interested in the entire lot, however that hinges upon a few things being completed tomorrow, I just wanted to tag myself here so I don't lose the thread, but yea. If things go as planned tomorrow, which I hope they do, I will be interested.

-[ANNOUNCEMENT]-

If you are interested in beta testing the ENTIRELY NEW POOL CODE THAT WE ARE IMPLEMENTING, please PM me, create an account on burstforum.com and let me know your name there, and I will add you to the CLOSED BETA GROUP.

This group is going to be testing burst.ga's EU cousin pool, which will start as a closed beta, go to open beta, and then the new code will be put on burst.ga and the cousin pool will stay in  EU as a second pool for ByteEnterprises.

PLEASE PM ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF THE CLOSED BETA TEAM AND TESTING THE NEW CODE!

-[BURST.GA POOL ANNOUNCEMENT and BETA TESTERs NEEDED for NEW POOL CODE!! PM ME! (I put this all here for people who don't like to read...)]-

Hello everyone!

This is the announcement of the new pool code coming into function on the burst network. I have hired a fantastic developer with the nick of 'catbref' who has been amazing. He has whipped up a completely new pool code from the ground up, not only for me, because I requested it, but also for the miners of BURST, to give them more variety and choices of where to mine, and settings. It will be great!

So, what we need from you now, is this!!

1. I am going to need a group of beta testers. This group of beta testers will be the closed beta group for the second pool server, which will eventually be turned into burst.ga's EU pool cousin. This group will have direct access to tell the dev what they would like to see, any issues, and ideas for improvement, or whatever they want to suggest!

2. The beta testers will need to have an account at www.burstforum.com as that is where the conversation about the beta test will go down. So, what you will need to do, if you don't have an account at burstforum already, and you want to get involved in the closed beta, go make an account there, and let me know your account name when you PM me to let me know you want to be part of the beta group.

3. That's pretty  much it for the beta test group, just send me a PM and let me know that you'd like to be part of the closed beta group, and I will provide you with the server IP and reward assignment account for the pool once the closed beta is starting.

The future of http://burst.ga and ByteEnterprises pools

(ByteEnterprises is what Irontiga and I call our venture, in case you weren't aware of that. We have a really great team of people working with us, and we will give you more information on ByteEnterprises once we do the asset changes and things that are going down right now in the background.)

1. burst.ga, as it is currently, will cease (in favor of new code). Once the new code is up and running, and we've gone from closed beta to open beta, and everything seems to be working as it should, we will be shutting the server for burst.ga down, updating the code, and putting it back up as the new coded pool, it will be the US burst.ga pool, just as it is now, but with the new code.
2. We will be doing the closed beta of the new code.
3. We will move the closed beta into an open beta. The open beta server will be an EU dedicated server.
4. Once we have finished all of our beta testing, we will be moving all pools to the new code, (well, both, not 'all',) and running happily off into the sunset.

Cheesy
So, another thing I want everyone to know...

BURST for the win!

Sorry, not just that, but also...

we will have more stats, more features, and more awesomeness than other pools. We will be setting up the two pools to work better for different sized miners, with more stats for them and super badass awesomeness.

The new code can already estimate the "hashpower" AKA size of a miner, and divides the shares in a sweet visual aspect, and I'm sure everyone will enjoy the capabilities of the new code.
Also, my closed beta testers will have access to the developer directly in the convo that I will start on burstforum, and they will be able to make suggestions of changes, additions, etc. As well as give their experience on the pool, and what they think were issues. So we can work together with the dev to fix everything and take care of any issues.

Thanks and happy new year to all! 2015, the YEAR OF BURST!

There is no way today is going to be "normal". I think Chris will eventually come through but if anything it will be late... Still no SSL, 2FA etc... He still has a lot of work to do. Hopefully he had been focusing on the payments but I still would expect a slow payment process since it's likely new code...

I tend to agree with this, I'm still giving LTCgear another week from this point before I give up hope. There is still a lot of work to be done, and as far as I can tell, the work thus far has been done, maybe not in an exactly perfect fashion, with exact updates along the way, as he should have... but there were few updates, and there are small changes happening, the site seems to be up but still needs things... at least he's doing something, but yea, I wouldn't say he's going to have payments done today, I hope so, but I don't think so. I also think that he deserves the benefit of the doubt, LTCgear has been working great for me the past few months I've had it, so I don't have issue with allowing him to fix things in a timely manner, and get things up again. If this means small updates and not a final fix until next week, that's better than magically disappearing with all of our (a whole shit load, a lot just from me) money.

Anyone looking to get out of LTCGear I'm buying accounts / shares, PM me.

I wouldnt bother until all the accounts get settled.  I'm sure quite a bit of accounts will be shut down and shares revoked.

Why would that happen?

bogus entrys ? if someone made those and knows chris is filtering them out now im sure they would love to sell u some before chris deletes them all.

Bingo!

but once the stuff does get straightened out, will the people want to sell anymore?

Chris sure seems to be making attempts and putting in work to get ltcgear back to its former glory. At first I thought he was just going to scam us but not I am not so sure. He might have actually suffered from a hack. I mean why go through all this trouble redoing the website putting up support forms etc if your going to just scam people (like PBmining said Ill "try" my best with no results thusfar compared to Chris)

He's been putting in a decent amount of work.  No scammer would even waste the time with it.

agreed, he does look legit at this point.

-[PR Announcement!]-

Hello wonderful world of BURST! Just as promised, we, the PR team, have come up with another PR related announcement for you! This time, it's in regards to smart contracts, AKA ATs!

The following link, will provide you with the document, please feel free to use it to spread the word and information regarding ATs!

BURST being the first coin to implement this, is HUGE, and will be a VERY big thing for a lot of people. Bring this to the NXT community to show them what we are capable of, bring it to all the other coins that were going to implement ATs later, and let them know we beat them to it, and maybe we can draw publicity that way.

Do what you please, but let's use these to get the word out! This is HUGE NEWS, it should be heard by the world! BURST, the next big thing in crypto, the ONLY currency EVER to have ATs, the undisputed king of awesome coins and features, we're on top of things! Think about it, we're a fully new algo, a fully new Automated Transaction functioning coin, the ONLY coin of it's kind to actually do what we say EVERY TIME, WITHOUT DELAY. We have THE BEST DEV of any crypto, and this is all becoming apparent even more so, to people who don't even know anything about BURST, you can see the dedication and awesomeness of the community by simply looking around, it's all right there in front of us.

Lets do this, let us make BURST, THE COIN, of 2015. The year of BURST. the year of the BURST community millionaires, the year of hard drive mining, the year of non-astronomical power bills for larger miners. This is all because of BURST, the one, the only!

Thank you, here is the link!

-------------------------------

http://burstcoin.info/sc/

-------------------------------

Not bad, however it still needs a bit of work. For example
a) the site has two S's ie SMART CONTRACTSS
b) the docx download is missing
c) the announcement could use a bit of formatting imo (some char spacing)
d) the most important one for me: the style of writing and some other stuff should be improved. I mean what does this sentence even mean "And Proof of Stake has its known to have security complications and problems, yet Burst still capable of implementing 90% against attack."

You have to give the people who wrote it a bit of a break, the main person is not a native English speaker. I am one of the people who can proof-read things and double check everything, but on this document I didn't have time. However, if you would like to go over it and shoot me some edits, I will provide them to the source, and re-post the downloads.

Quick and dirty: No payout, no answer of Support Tickets. A crappy Peace of Sh....

Suprise, Suprise a new error:
Quote
UPDATE 00:00 UTC – Payments are still sent slow, database is scrambled, some payments in both BTC and LTC ended being sent twice today because address changes (they will be subtracted next cycle). ETA is 24 hours.

Tomorrow we can read another error.

Not new.

Yea, that's old. Pretty much the first announcement of problems. Don't worry I think things are going to be handled here soon.
