1941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are happy only when the price goes up? on: June 26, 2020, 12:50:25 AM
Especially in the wall observer, you will see people that want bitcoin's price to get increased. Although, if bitcoin price goes down, it's good for many people too. For example, I want to get decreased so I can buy more BTC

If we assume that there are only people with huge fortunes on bitcoin, then yes, it's too bad if the price goes down. But, except from those guys, there are the ones who are waiting to buy more. We never heard anything from them  Roll Eyes

well, we do want to be filthy rich.

buying the dip in a downward price swing is cool but really any purchase at the moment is a pretty solid bet (IMO of course). so no, while the price going down can benefit some, for us greedy types, not so much.

naturally, DYOR

Think options expire on the 26th...regardless...sometimes little blips intersect other little blips and can form larger blips.

You are right. I am an embarasment to myself. Today is 25 not 26.

its the covid time effect. it doesnt work the same as normal time.
1944  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 25, 2020, 12:06:25 PM
Inspired by this discussion: perhaps we could set up a weekly or monthly poll where we could vote for the funniest/craziest/most retarded/delusional troll of the entire WO thread? We could name it a "Roach Award" or something...  Grin

we would 1st need an initial poll for the name for the award, no?

Right before the fourth shit of the day, i might go some 2-3 more times, still.

Finished extending the main house by another 40 square meters (roughly), got the window openings sealed at night, right before the rain kicked in.

is the extension going to be an additional huge bathroom?

So, how was Wednesday for you folk ?

you DO know you can educate yourself. things called books. try them sometime. i made it out of some very dark periods in my past. i didnt blame others, i sucked it up and bettered myself.

Dude, you know his first port of call will be J. Phillipe Rushton's Race, Evolution and Behavior, swiftly followed by Grant's The Passing of the Great Race or Morton's Crania Americana...

Best you're getting out of him is maybe Spengler's Decline of the West.

errr. yeah. mea culpa.

i have a long standing thought that most humans are inherently good.

in light of (somewhat) recent events, i am revising my thoughts on this now.
1948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Couple was forcibly ask by IRS to sell their crypto to pay their liabilities on: June 24, 2020, 11:09:24 PM
Are you willing to sell your crypto to pay our debts or just go on settle it in months or years?

when i withdraw to fiat i pull an extra 20% or so to keep aside for taxes. i stick it in a CD or something, just so i dont touch it. tax time i cash it out and pays the man my taxes.

In other news. There is now a huge wasp nest on the door to my garden entrance.

Do I- A. spray them with water from afar B. Smoke out (or outsmoke Tongue) the hive or C. Hire that guy who crushes wasp nests with his bare hands?

d: do what i did on a huge honkin nest (~2 feet across on long axis) on my wayback shed door.. get in your jeep, must have power windows and be able to GO on demand (4wd). wife and i each have extra large can of foaming wasp killer. wait till dusk. sneak up to side of nest with windows just cracked enough to spray out of. then, spray. when the death swarm come out, see if you can get the exits of course but mainly windows up and GOGOGO!!. damn things chased the jeep 150 feet to the road and a bit up it (i was in my yard of course when i started). should of clocked the damn things, friggin things are pretty fast. or seems so..

little bit of yard reseeding (left some BIG ruts lol) and done deal..

7/10 would do again.

I continue to hope that you die painfully. You have shown no sign of deserving any better.

Incidentally, the welfare state is the direct reason for the... underwhelming youth we have today. And the welfare state was instituted by Boomers. You really are the worst generation.

my feeling toward you are the same.. pity.

you DO know you can educate yourself. things called books. try them sometime. i made it out of some very dark periods in my past. i didnt blame others, i sucked it up and bettered myself.

and again, unlike you i wish no harm on you. just wish you had some sort of education.

however, snowflakes probably better not try this, the crying rooms (whatever theyre called) are all full now.

Good day everyone! Needed to greet that way because I am a bit worried on whats happening today. I don't know if you WObservers have seen how the infamous F a T F t ra ve l rule is unfolding. I know most of you will be able to avoid/circumvent this implementation, nonetheless I am seeing many industry players racing to adopt it.
Any comment on that?

my only comment? what is that (in very general terms if its a secret or something).

yes im out of the loop. too many projects keep me away from bct lately.

1955  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has anyone tried LibertyX's new buy BTC service (CVS & 7-Eleven)? on: June 24, 2020, 11:18:57 AM
I'm trying to think of a reason why I should try it and I'm coming up short. I'd need to do invasive KYC, it's not like I can just hand cash over anonymously. I'd have to pay 0.5% + $5 according to the CT article. Worst of all, I'd have to get off my couch and go somewhere. What makes it worth it?

for me its the experience of standing there whilst others look at you like youre buying monopoly money. priceless.

i am soooo there once it comes around here.

on an (unrelated) side note, last time i bought  gift cards for some  friends whos businesses were shut down due to covid i had to answer the clerks questions that i was not coerced into buying the cards due to scams like paying the irs with the cards and such. had an interesting conversation with the cashier for a bit as it seems thats pretty common. wonder what the new line might be. buying btc isnt the same but im sure there will be looks given.

cant wait.

and although i dislike the cameras and kyc etc but hey big brothers has been around long enough that it hardly matters for me at this point. big brother knows all about my goat porn collections and such anyway.

This is run by the biggest and oldest Bitcoin ATM network. They'll know the ins and outs and the legal manoeuvres. The biggest issue would be the utter cluelessness of the store clerk person. I would hope they've made it totally foolproof and mindless on that side.

i can just picture asking the typical store cashier for help (especially the ones with liberal arts degrees that are now stuck working there due to.. reasons heh.

one would hope there an 800 number to call.

on second thought, scratch that 800 help number. likely be worse than blindly hitting buttons.
1956  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possibleTrump Will Prohibit Bitcoin? on: June 23, 2020, 11:27:24 AM
trump needs bitcoin. after all how much fiat and gold etc can fit in that underground bunker he is so fond of inspecting.

use a paper wallet, presto, lots of room in there for his big macs and such.

friday? whats that.

ooooh yeah a day of the week. guess being retired has perks.

as for that futures stuff, my feeble brain, which has no clue, can only watch what others say about it. lemme know if its good news please.

LibertyX Allows BTC Purchases in Cash at 7-Eleven, CVS, and Rite Aid

Quote
In a June 22 announcement on LibertyX’s Twitter account, the crypto ATM service company said customers of retailers including 7-Eleven, CVS Pharmacy, and Rite Aid would be able to buy Bitcoin (BTC) with cash.

Users need to have the LibertyX mobile app installed, select which retailer location they will visit in advance, and scan their barcodes at the time of purchase. According to LibertyX, crypto holders can buy between $20-$500—up to 0.052 BTC as of this writing—with transactions processed in minutes for a small fee.

cant wait for one to come around here, just to buy some to support it.

on a related note, the coinstar machines around here (the change sorting machine you see at some supermarkets) dont offer bitcoin yet even though apparently some do.. bummer. i remember those machines being a life saver back when i was broke af.
