1961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal's "New Money" Compaign - 2016 Super Bowl Commercial on: February 08, 2016, 05:51:03 PM
Do you think some Bitcoin company will advertise its service on next Super Bowl? I heard this costs like $2 million a minute to have a spot  Shocked

Well if Xapo which provide a pretty good service didn't quite make Bitcoin work the way Paypal does or couldn't create a decent percentage of adoption from the mainstream then it's clear that Bitcoin doesn't really work for transactions. Regular people can't really be bothered by decimals, wallets, address as long as lines of code, no refunds, authorization keys, etc.
1962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Airdrops 1 Million BTC to the Poor on: February 08, 2016, 05:33:10 PM
Well it is an intriguing idea. I for one don't think handing out money to people is a good thing to do. People in need as in charities that could work, but just "poor" people? for doing nothing? You can at least hire them to do something for Bitcoin if that was the case, something very easy and almost symbolic but something.
1963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal's "New Money" Compaign - 2016 Super Bowl Commercial on: February 08, 2016, 05:30:11 PM
To many here, they didn't replace Bitcoin with any name because Bitcoin doesn't exists in the minds of the average Joe. They will gladly use Paypal because they use email and CCs and it's very easy. I myself have used Paypal for more than 10 years without any problems.

We as bitcoiners must face what we really want for Bitcoin, to be eGold or something like that, or to actually be adopted by the mainstream as a method of payment. If you are on this last side well my friend I think that battle is already lost. No common person will adopt Bitcoin, it's a complete hassle both in terms of usability and from a logical point of view.
1964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: February 08, 2016, 05:25:54 PM
Here are my predictions for today, I'm opening them with a bang hehe:

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Phoenix Suns - Phoenix Suns @ 8.6
I've seen OKC suffered against some of the worse teams in their road games, granted they did not lose too many of them but I can't pass those odds, I would throw a little loose change if I were you since the Suns are playing much better after Hornacek's firing.

Denver Nuggets @ Brooklyn Nets - Brooklyn Nets @ 2.06
I'm going with the Nets here, they sure have a good shot against the Nuggets at home and those odds are fair enough for me.

Sacramento Kings @ Cleveland Cavaliers - Over 216.5pts @ 1.74
With Cleveland you never know what will happen, but they will get Kevin Love back, and you know what that means, it means Cousins will score more than 30! Score fest tonight, enjoy!

Nice analysis man, but i'm not sure about OKC vs phoenix suns. good odds though, but it's to risky, i think i will pick phoenix suns spread. for Cavs match i agree with you.

Thanks, your choice is perfectly valid and may be even better, but I also mentioned to just throw in a little something there with such high odds if you are feeling it, there's a chance Phoenix surprise OKC which should a little disheartened and unfocused after the Warriors defeat.
1965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GEMZ] GetGems - Social Messaging App That Pays - Live on Android, iOS, Web on: February 08, 2016, 05:22:04 PM
I sent 105 GEMZ to my poloniex GEMZ account an the coins has not yet received. Ut's been 8 hours I think. How long will I wait for the coins to be transferred?

People should stop using Poloniex, your fault if you try to dump 1 dollar of coins. We need a safe way to buy coins.

Is this is usual support someone gets over here? If someone wants to do just that it's his money and should work, so stfu or provide some answers if you have some.

I thought I just did give an answer and a solution. DONT USE POLONIEX. Advice brought to you by the same people that said DONT PULL THE PIN ON THAT HAND GRENADE, DONT PUT THAT CYANIDE IN YOUR MOUTH, DONT PUT YOUR TONGUE ON THAT ELECTRIC SOCKET AND DONT PUT YOUR COCK IN THAT BLENDER. That is the fucking solution until something better comes along.

If you need more simple clear advice can I suggest some kind of special needs community nurse.

Easy there tiger, too much caps. Care to explain why can't Poloniex be used along with Gemz? It's featured on the first post of the official thread as a viable exchange after all...

1967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are BanxShares as good as GAW Paycoin? on: February 08, 2016, 03:56:26 PM
Were any dividends paid in January?

I read that some people believe that all of the BTC that Banx collected originally is now gone. Additionally, as the business hasn't made any profits in any of the business units mentioned in the prospectus, there is nothing to pay out for dividends.

Does anyone know what is happening with Banx?

I have very little in my account like I mentioned in a previous post and I've been getting regular interests monthly, January was no exception to my surprise so I guess the project is still alive:

BANX Payment 635897835578345452 Jan 30, 2016 5:45 PM

I can't really complain that much since what I have was from a giveaway but still it pisses me off that many people may have lost a lot of money with this.

1969  Economy / Gambling / Re: A true Martingale system for sports ;D on: February 08, 2016, 03:19:48 PM
i had used this Martingale system for playing a dice some times ago but this strategy is not working for me and actually i was never thought martingale can use for sport betting but i think use martingale for sport betting have very high risk especially for huge amount bets and i consider that using usual bets is more safe than use this strategy

Well at least here's someone who can attest of having used Martingale for some time and we can have some proofs that it doesn't actually work. I thought Martingale was better suited for sports but I guess I was wrong and it's basically the same as I mentioned earlier as in regular gambling. The house always gets you and in sports is no different, the odds are placed by the bookmakers so they will always have that advantage in the long term.
1970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: February 07, 2016, 09:48:29 PM

I don't think that there is nowadays a real problem about convert the Bitcoins into fiat anytime, there is any trusted exchange platforms online, and even some famous ewallets (like Payza..) accept the deposit by Bitcoin directly

Western Union - I walk 20 metres in any settlement in the world with a code and walk out with some cash one minute later.

Bitcoin - wait five days to get verified on an exchange. fail verification. Give up. Arrange to meet some sweaty guy from localbitcoins. Chicken out.

WU sucks and sucks your money away. It also just works.

Lol exactly, I've been saying this for months but this thread is just a bunch of spammers going on an on with its trumpet of BS about Bitcoin. Bitcoin may be a great idea and innovative tech but it's far from providing the same service of Western Union, and like I said, it's not just my opinion, it's a fact. Western Union is still in business.

Go ahead create your own company, Bitcoin based and see how much money you lose each week by exchaging fiat to btc back to fiat in an office.

1971  Economy / Gambling / Re: A true Martingale system for sports ;D on: February 07, 2016, 09:44:52 PM
Arbitrage was well known a few years ago, people checking different odds from different bookmakers, so they tried to make money whatever the outcome. I know these guys exist yet, but is almost impossible to do this now, as you have to be a member of at least 100 betting sites and also pay them the fee for telling you what match to combine through different bookmakers so you can win, no matter the outcome.

I would love if such service is offered here in this forum, although I highly doubt it, no one has the time and facilities do to this these days in my opinion.

It will be very difficult to make a living doing ONLY arbitrage, and difficult to make both bets at the same time. But you can find opportunities if you make lots of bets over time. For instance, if you bet Panthers +475 to win the Super Bowl or Broncos +600 before the playoffs started, or at even greater odds before or throughout the season you coudl guarantee yourself some cash tonight.

But to do that would involve making good bets back then, which takes effort, not some sort of easy system.

Predicting the Super Bowl finalists is not arbitrage, arbitrage is not about predicting the outcome of a game or a tournament, is more about predicting the odds that will be given and wait and find the arbitrage. The easiest way is to find the arbitrage already there but in my experience it's very hard and the window closes fast if that was the case.
1972  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: DirectBet Basketball Prediction Game *** Win Free Bets ! *** Free to Enter ! on: February 07, 2016, 09:38:42 PM
Final result: Oklahoma City Thunder 108 @ 116 Golden State Warriors. I got OKC score right at least hehe! I want a prize hehe. Any actual winners?

if you are participating in a special round you would have got a prize for that! Hard to predict basketball scores.

Please tell Directbet to award me some little bonus at least! My prediction was Oklahoma City Thunder 108 @ 121 Golden State Warriors, pretty close right?
1973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we get sex workers to use bitcoin? on: February 07, 2016, 08:46:00 PM
I mean, it makes sense right? Lots of transactions, they can teach their clients. I started a resource here as a good step.

But what are some other ways?

We need to make it very easy to get in and out of bitcoin and right now it is too difficult for people who need the cash immediately to buy food or pay for their babies formula.  There are many companies working on this and it will come soon.

Exactly, I don't even know where should I begin selling my BTC (I'm not looking to do it but still). It's increible complicated just to buy it, a complete hassle for the common person, to sell it it's even more difficult. It's not like you go to an ATM or a supermarket and you convert your BTC into fiat, people here are deluded and thinking Bitcoin is everywhere, it's only used or known from a very small percentage, far from being widespread so there are no actual reliable services in place.

Although arbitrage sounds amazing in theory is very hard to do, you have to calculate lots of odds at the same time if you are really looking to find one and be quick to place your bet, a single odd changing will screw you up. And you also have to take huge risks if you think an odd will adjust in the next hours, it's like predicting odds really, for example if you know a certain important player won't be able to play or is doubtful, this could massively impact the odds either way and you can "create" the arbitrage if you foresee that before it happened.

Bottomline is, arbitrage is not too much about gambling, if you have a system and work your ass off you will make money but it's hard as any other job, and it has some risks. Gambling on the other hand unless you are a math level genius you won't be able to profit in the long term (in sports I mean, see FanDuel or DraftKings).
1975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralization? Yeah, right. Bitcoin is not even decentralized. on: February 07, 2016, 08:26:47 PM
There's no thing as decentralized as there's no thing as total freedom. Many users here still believe in utopias and ideal notions of how the world will turn into paradise. Sadly Bitcoin can become a joke if the developers wish to do so in a second. The same as the internet with the SOPA regulation, we were days or even hours away of having a completely censored and regulated internet, think about that, is that easy because for machines and systems to work we still need human beings and human beings are very easy to corrupt.
1976  Economy / Gambling / Re: A true Martingale system for sports ;D on: February 07, 2016, 08:14:04 PM
Martingale strategy is a fail system. You cant win in long-term with martingale strategy.
Is very hard to make money with gambling.

Sports betting is basically the same as regular betting, the odds are placed by the house, they are not giving odds where you can actually win money in the long term, they are not in the business of losing money. Of course it can work in the short term since the random aspect of sports can strike at any time and an upset can happen any day or you could be REALLY good at predicting (there are actual professional sports gamblers that use math, especially in baseball and sports like that analyzing numbers only).
1977  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: What year will we hit $100,000? on: February 07, 2016, 08:08:52 PM
If there is no actual demand or need for Bitcoin it will never reach a price that high, gold is scarce and precious and it's even needed for manufacturing things and it never reached those crazy figures. The only thing that can push a value like this if it becomes adopted by the mainstream and it's used for digital goods, etc everyday. That's pure math right there, only 21 million (much less than that available of course) with a strong demand equals instant high value.
1978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Terrorists use Western Union, not Bitcoin on: February 07, 2016, 07:31:12 PM
Everyone can use bitcoins and dollars, why do even bother if terrorist use it or not!?
Knife can be used for cutting bread and for cutting throats..Knife is not guilty!
This is the point we all have to understand, almost all thing or service has multiple use and the one who uses it should be responsible for the result afterwards rather than those services.

Fair enough but currencies, especially crypto ones take a big pride on offering "anonymous" features and that's too me is just plain wrong. I get that many of users here hate banks and things like that, but guess what, you are being filmed everywhere you go, you are being tracked, etc, you can't just hide. And to be honest, people who really want to remain anonymous are using it for dubious things, that's the bottomline.

It's like saying torrents are ok only if you use them with public domain films and freeware. Yeah right, we all know people use them to download copyrighted stuff.
1979  Economy / Gambling / Re: △▽BitKong - The Most Addictive Bitcoin Game Ever - Provably Fair. △▽ on: February 07, 2016, 06:54:18 PM
Good place if you like throwing money in the trash.

I can't really vouch for BitKong as I've only tried the site a couple of times and it was all a very good experience but from what you mentioned you basically had some shitty luck! And also if you don't have actual proof it is hard to take your accusations seriously, any competitor site or casino can do the same thing just to give bad publicity.

Right now i think DOGED is still a very good buy.
The price has climbed a little which means it's just waitng for momentum to start.

Doge is a joke of a coin but I agree that it's good for speculation and a range around 60 is a good buy in my opinion if you are willing to hold until the next pump.
