204  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Futures Trading is not for everyone on: September 25, 2022, 03:42:40 PM
If you are a crypto trader using spot I advice you should stick with it till you become a professional trader, just because you start futures and win three rounds of short or long buys doesn't mean you are officially a pro trader....

I thought I was a pro coming from spot trading, I used 300$ which I planned to use to DCA into a project but a man can dream, my first attempt was successful, which net me 50$ and the second was 100$, the third round was 40$ and I close the trade for the day...

On the second day I lost everything, I now officially accept that I am far from been a pro trader, at least that's what I thought 🤔.
You are right, I usually stay away from futures cos I know for a fact that I am no way near a good trader so I see spot trading as another mini HODLin Grin at least I am not going to lose as long as I didn't sell, there is a chance I am making my investment back plus profit since I am more of a Hodler anywats.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A good news or a bad news on: September 25, 2022, 10:14:12 AM
I read online that A US court have ordered USDT owner Tether to disclose the reserves backing its stable coin, this is the largest Stable coin in crypto space presently and this doesn't sound like a good news to me, is this the great crypto collapse in play or I am just think way too much? This freaks me out.
I however agree with the point raised by the court. Most people have always believed that crypto trading is not safe and things like this if not proven right might further affirm that notion by skeptical people about the crypto market and even though this has kinda been an ongoing thing with USDT tether, I hope this part can be cleared out for once and lets move on.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why have so many platforms delisted Polygon tokens? on: September 25, 2022, 10:07:17 AM
Due to low fees I used to keep stablecoins and some other tokens in the Polygon network, but in the past few days, most of the exchanges de listed these stablecoins or tokens on the Polygon network and only accept deposit and withdrawal to Ethereum network
It would have been nice to know the specific exchanges you are talking about but as far as I know, Polygon Matic is a good project and it could also be that the network in under Maintainance in that exchange, I have witnessed this with other projects in different exchanges.

208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Well! Bitcoin doesn't have this problem on: September 19, 2022, 02:10:53 PM
BTC is life changing if people can only understand that. There is no need for banks in our system. Decentralized is the key and BTC has that. Also it comes with freedom. I don't know why people still don't get this. They need to learn a lot.
It is not a question whether people don't understand Bitcoin and its life changing ability. Without taking anything away from Bitcoin and what it is, can you confirm that you did not or have not to spend some fiat from your Bank account buying some Bitcoin/Satoshis if you are HODLing BTC? regardless of how we want Bitcoin to be accepted by every sales shop in every location, that is not the case now and so are other sectors of the economy like the Hospital in question which has no option for Bitcoin payment, so we still have to resolve to using fiat/Banks.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto be British?? on: September 19, 2022, 01:34:15 PM
Up till this day, no one knows much about the founder and creator of Bitcoin. Although he's famous for introducing the cryptocurrency in 2008 and also creating the Genesis block, but that's all the information on him one could get.

But now a hunt to know more about the pseudonymous Satoshi has begun in earnest and after much collation of facts from his 539 BTC posts, 34 emails, 169 code commits, meta data from all version of Bitcoin he has worked on by researchers, still the search proved to yield no result until a recent research gotten from the Chain bulletin of an editorial which indicated that the first block chain activity was conducted in London.

Doncho Karaivanov, a text and code writer revealed that the research was data driven and seemed to cover all 742 instances from 206 days. And this time stamp was able to cover from Halloween of October 31, 2008 to December 13, 2010. Which seems to be the time Satoshi was "seen" last.

Another reason to believe that he is a Londoner is this;

With all the facts showing his activities, could it be he just resided there to conduct his dealings or he is actually British or is this another mild way of keeping the public guessing?
  https://news.bitcoin.com/new-research-suggests-satoshi-nakamoto-lived-in-london-creating-bitcoin/
Grin I was trying to see where Satoshi's story is in the picture you attached which was clearly not leading to the site till I copied the link below, I think that could have been done better if you actually wanted the pic to lead us to the site, however, It still baffles me why or what people want to do with knowing who Satoshi is. If he really wanted to be known I believe he or they wouldn't have gone anonymous and I even believe the more people try to find him/her/they the more him/her/they will continue to hide their identity so I just hope people would just leave this alone so I don't even want to think if he was British or stayed or still staying around that location.

210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A website that shows important dates of Bitcoin as a calendar on: September 18, 2022, 05:07:00 PM
This is a really nice job. The calendar is also more like an educative tool too, many of us don't know most of this information about Bitcoin and this will aid with that and I believe as some have pointed out there might be more updates about Bitcoin history that are presently missing that could be updated too. I think it's pretty cool.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: In your opinion is this the end for Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency? on: September 18, 2022, 04:20:02 PM
What a nice survey, 47 votes for "no", 0 for "yes" and 0 for "unsure". The forum might be a bit biased, but why would anybody really say that crypto currencies are dead? The bitcoin price right now is at 19,858 USD. If cryptos were anywhere close to dying or already dead than the price should be below 1 USD. And this is not going to happen anytime soon. The world is still full of people who are believing in cryptos and would happily start buying bitcoins if the drop anywhere close to 1,000 USD. I am sure that we are not going to see the end of crypto currencies in general or bitcoin in particular during our lifetime. Even if 99% of the world population is not interested in cryptos anymore, as long as there is 1% who uses cryptos it won't be dead.
Why do you think that the forum is a bit biased? I am guessing you voted no too otherwise the poll would have been different from the current result and also confirmed by your further comments. But why would anyone even think that? we have seen bear markets before and what happened afterward and I believe that this is not going to be different however long it might take.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: CZ claim crypto is high risk, here's my opinion on: September 17, 2022, 09:01:51 AM

but i think his exchange services constitute more on the risk involved in cryptocurrency, while knowing this he could have maintain only dealing with bitcoin than altcoins which most have resulted into scam related offenses, i think CZ motive is just to make business and profit out of it, regardless of means, we all know many shitty coins enlisted on Binance before now but which are no where to be found today. cryptocurrency involves taking risk but centralized exchanges were risks added to taking a risk.

Let's say you are hodling your crypto assets in your own wallet and something happens to that crypto project, would it matter if they were in a centralized Exchange like Binance or if you were hodling them in your own wallet? The project is dead means it is dead and it is not because of CZ or Binance. I remember coming into crypto when Bittrex was the Exchange to trade in then and when most of the first shitcoins I knew were on Ethereum Network and I still have all those dead projects in some of my wallets to date. CZ or Binance isn't the issue, he is just being truthful with crypto investment.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fiat Banks Conspiracy Against Customers. Bitcoin is the Best Option on: September 17, 2022, 08:47:15 AM
Hihihi, and that's what OP's doing.
Quit ironic, his previous message just before this one looks like this:

My suggestion is that, if your country has banned bitcoin and you are interested to use bitcoin, it is very simple. Just go to Binance, Remitano or any other web or app that vendors are buying and selling BTC.

Unfortunately, he is not the only one, many criticize banks, and at the same time support crypto banks, which are far behind traditional banks in terms of securing the user's funds, at least when the insurance of savings deposits by the state is in question. I hope that some of those who think in the wrong way, at least on this forum, will be directed to the right path.

After I've answered honestly believing your story, I find out now that all this is most probably fabricated using images from 2020 and the pandemic??
See: False Info : Fiat Banks Conspiracy Against Customers. Bitcoin is the Best Option

What you say about this?

Nice catch - I thought I'd seen those pics somewhere too, but didn't bother to find them. It seems that the OP made up the story, which is really sad considering that he was one of the members who showed potential.

According to a saying, "what happened to someone does not affect others" and also "experience is the best teacher". The images presented the banks I went to withdraw the cash. They are models to the banks. I still insist very strongly that the story which I presented here yesterday was real. Those who are saying that ATM opens before 8:am should come to my locality and see by yourself. I will not argue with you.

NeuroticFish I have never and will never fabricate story. If because of the pictures you said the story is fake. The images are models to the information.
I understand your argument for Bitcoin and support that too but why then didn't you just take the actual picture of the day you had the incident in the Bank instead of referencing the pictures that were not? You do realize that the pictures were the cause of the argument and that you were just trying to tell us a story we already know about Nigerian Bank and also not to say that some ATMs don't work 24/7 as you also claimed yourself, "what happened to someone does not affect others" your area might be so and other areas might not be, so you can't generalize.

214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you buy a token if its price never went up and you could never sell it? on: September 17, 2022, 08:07:49 AM
Buying a token I cannot sell to any other person, I would in turn assume that there might be something else the token can be used for outside selling that might be valuable to you having to buy it in the first place, but if I cannot sell and has no value added characteristics, I don't see the reason.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: trading strategies how to turn 50$ into 100k$ in a month ? on: September 17, 2022, 07:52:35 AM
hello I have seen the best profits to be made are in projects like shiba inu before it became huge or currently on BSC and ETH chain on new projects.

There have been People who with the help of bnb chain even turned 50$ into 150k$ in a months time.
I don't know how many XXX% that project will have to go before you can turn your $50 investment into a $100K profits
Grin Grin Grin I guess that would absolutely be an Insane price pump in over just a month however, there was this BSC project I thought of just tracking when it was just launched and registered it in Coingecko like I invested $10 and in less than a Month from its pump, the highest it would have turned as profit was $80 which I thought was really good but $50 to $100k in a month? I don't know.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you think bear market is affecting Bitcoin (Crypto currencies) so badly on: September 16, 2022, 06:34:38 AM
In my own opinion crypto investment just like any other business is not a mare for weaken Hearted follow
Cause it's the time to humble the riches and en-riches the strong minder holders are winners in this space
What do you think will help to help boost the mindset of investors again after all the ordeal?
This has been the normal market trend for those that have been in the market for a while and have taken note that the market is basically 3 phases but the Bull and Bear season is more talked about. If any investor does not know this and is looking for any other information to boost their mindset, then they still have something to learn about the market.
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Well! Bitcoin doesn't have this problem on: September 16, 2022, 06:22:32 AM
~
For how long should people understand the importance to have bitcoins for emergencies such as this one?

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=607786560854535

Quote
Depositor stands on a desk holding a gun inside one of Lebanon’s local banks as she demands the release of her money to pay for her sister’s cancer treatment.
Video from: marwanmatni
-Arab News
For that quote, we don't know the whole story. Maybe the Lebanese bank is holding it for some reasons. On the other hand, the depositor will not go there with a gun if the bank just releases the money immediately knowing that this is an important and urgent matter. I guess she is desperate already to get her money thus, she went there with a gun. Still, holding withdrawals is not a good move by the bank.

As to Bitcoin, Bitcoin isn't being accepted in some establishments such as hospitals and the like. Yes, Bitcoin doesn't have this kind of problem, but the problem is the lack of acceptance from different establishments.

I guess we should consider doing research regarding banks first before depositing your money there.
It wasn't really about the Bank but the Lebanese Economy that has more or less collapsed by mismanagement as a sectarian elite borrowed with few restraints, so, no matter the amount you have in your Bank account, Withdrawals of hard currency have been limited for most people since 2019 when the value of the Lebanese pound plummeted and inflation soared.
Source
Even if the bank had the money, they wouldn't have been able to give that amount to her and even with her action, she still couldn't get the total amount she wanted.
So until Bitcoin is widely accepted for payments across different sectors of the economy, we might still be dealing with this type of Bank issue.

218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most trusted stable coin currently (in your opinion)? on: September 15, 2022, 06:49:00 AM
I know this question has been answered many times before.

However, I want the current market outlook.

Frist:Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies the value of which is pagged, or tied, to that of USD.

I made this post to discuss together which stable coin is the best stable coin in your opinion ?

The current biggest stable coins are:

1- Tether: USD

2- USD Coin: USDC

3- Binance USD: BUSD

4- Dai: Dai

5- True USD: TUSD

These are the biggest by marketcap .

After a research I saw that a lot of negative comments are about USDT.
However, USDC and BUSD seems the most trusted .

What do you think?

Thank you.
Usually, Stablecoins are not coins I hold for long even if I sell my coins/token to them, however, I am always on Binance for most of my trade so I use BUSD and USDC. On some occasions, I still use USDT if that's the option available for trade in the Exchange and will also convert back to the two previously mentioned.

219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I have bought Bitcoin ? on: September 15, 2022, 06:30:23 AM
When I hear the word "Monk" .... I immediately think of a wise old man on top of a high hill... far away from all the influences of modern technology.  Cheesy  It is refreshing to see that even Monks are adapting to society and modern world now.  Wink

Just a warning... DO NOT use this forum to ask for donations... because it is against the rules. You can post some pictures of your charity work to add some credibility to your post. (remember... anyone can come to a forum like this and post anything.... there are a lot of scammers out there)

If you post something believable .... people might reach out to you.... like that person that gave you the $5000.  Wink
I was thinking about this too. I have never really come in contact with a real monk but I have read and seen their way of life on Documentaries and with this narration, I am having another feeling about monks like monks can really more than be spiritual and @DigitalMonk seems to understand a lot about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency and why do you have to keep stressing that you are a monk like you are trying to convince people you are a monk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5410438.msg60780090#msg60780090
All the proof of donation and usage will go a long way for other support too.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Opened another business were I accept Bitcoin on: September 15, 2022, 06:12:21 AM
customer wants to take #18,000 (Nigeria Naira) and pay in Bitcoin, I did the calculation and added $3 fee for my business charge and sent the details across and the customer sent 0.00155 BTC.

Good idea!, but this people that will pay you in Bitcoin must be Big guys and Big men I guess, adding $3 as transaction fees to your customer in Nigeria is huge amount and might scare them away from doing business with you , I suggest you remove it as you are just getting started to attract more customers, then later you can add your charges. However, if you do have an account with any platform that has P2P like Binance for instance, though I'm not encouraging you should keep your cryptos in a centralized exchange, but in this case Binance P2P will make things easier for you, in terms of selling your Crypto back to Cash. therefore you need not to add $3 transaction fees to your customers because that is approximately (#2000) Nigeria Naira as at today's exchange rate of #700 -$1 dollar.

Everything OP narrated sounds good but there is hardly anyone in Nigeria trading crypto that doesn't know the exchange P2P transaction and Nigerians as we have known from previous info are at the top of that transaction in Africa
and also rated highly in the World so I was wondering, why would I want to spaned 35min waiting for a transaction to get through and even pay an additional $3 fee Shocked because I want to cash out some Satoshi? As I said, the narrative sounds good for Bitcoin but the transaction is faulty from the seller's point of view.
