441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is using 2fa safe in every way on: April 27, 2022, 01:24:16 PM
today I experienced an unexpected transaction from one of my wallets, all my assets were sold automatically, this is the first time I've experienced this, I didn't protect this wallet with a PIN and 2fa
can it be delayed after I use 2fa and PIN for all transactions?
I want to believe you are not new to crypto and wallets and should have known better to use both most importantly or at least one like the 2fa. I have my 2FA on a device I hardly connect to the internet just for extra security. Sorry for what happened but again I don't think those crypto-assets can be recovered.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon and and how this "dude" could effect bitcoin in the future? on: April 27, 2022, 01:12:23 PM

Let if adopts "doge" as some kind of default crypto currency for Twitter it will be huge move and might effect bitcoin bigtime.

Why is this even a concern? did Elon Musk adopt Dogecoin for direct tesla buy apart from Mech? and what effect did that even create for Dogecoin? I couldn't help to notice the little spike in the price of Dogecoin after the tweeter news but we are back although that might actually make an impact on the price but, I don't see that move yet.
443  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin continues to decline, what causes it? on: April 27, 2022, 12:57:51 PM
why should people always worry about this temporary decline.
I'm quite weird with most people here, they believe in bitcoin, they know they are an asset for the long term but they don't want to see a temporary decline like this.
Calm down buddy, there's no need to look for any reasons they go down and up because now it's a short term and maybe even very short. when you know that they are long term assets why use very short term for reference and panic
I want to believe that they don't even believe in Bitcoin but rather their aim is just to make a profit and most likely is that they don't even have any investment in Bitcoin but since Bitcoins price action affects basically other crypto prices, we see all this cry about little or change in Bitcoin price every time. The market will always go up and come down and this won't be the last.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to $DOGE after Elon Musk bought Twitter? on: April 26, 2022, 04:46:09 PM
The cryptocurrency market fell under pressure in the early trading hours on April 25, but a brief spurt of bullish price action sparked after media headlines announced that Elon Musk had reached a deal to purchase Twitter for $44 billion. Right after Elon Musk bought Twitter, DOGE set up a green column of +20%. Not only DOGE but BTC also recovered quickly back to the $40k7 area, making the whole market prosper this morning.

Thanks to Elon Musk, the crypto market is brought back again.
Well looks like this news boom of some of the crypto prices from the Elon Tweeter Buy was short-lived now because the Bitcoin price is has dropped to almost its lowest trading price yesterday of about $38.2k cos it is currently trading @ $38.4k I believe that the market will only recover after it fully run its natural correction course.
445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are new bitcoin users early or late to the party? on: April 26, 2022, 04:03:14 PM
I feel like I'm too late and the btc price is literally just gonna go sideways forever.

Will btc ever hit a million? Or hundred million?
Actually, no need to regret when we are i to Bitcoin investment. Sometimes, everyone has their own time to start, develoo, gain, and also end.
and none guarantees or ensure that Bitcoin will reach a million or not, we cannot oredict it exactly, but it is still possible.

btw, why are you only concerning on blaming yourself and also worrying about the price?
are you the one that follow only Hype and FOMO and then the panic when the price drops?
because many newbies only focus in gaining the very big profist, but they are not ready with the risks such as in the bearish era later.
This is because most new Bitcoin investors now are only concerned about how much XXX% they can make in the shortest period of time investing in Bitcoin and some think that they have missed out on not investing early enough. There is no longer looking at the long-term investment and what Bitcoin represents but mostly as a trade and profit-taking item and these are the ones that are fast to react to a small market bearish movement.
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get rid of useless tokens on: April 26, 2022, 03:49:54 PM
The best try would be stopping your address to be posted publicly. Most of the people join a lot of airdrops and sadly most of these airdrops are scam. They wont pay you anything but will collect your address and later make you a target. I hope you got the point I'm trying to make here.
You are right and people can easily create a different wallet address for all these airdrops if they wish to participate in those airdrops to avoid exposing their primary wallet even though I have noticed that even with you partaking in any airdrops, some of them still manage to drop in your wallet but you can simply ignore them.
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop in 2022 on: April 25, 2022, 11:05:39 AM
Anyone still joins airdrops this day? If Yes which platform are you using to participate in Airdrops? I'm using coinmarketcap but I never get a single payment from projects on the platform.

This has been discussed here many times. Airdrops are no longer worthwhile. The airdrops that you still get today for free are usually worth nothing and not worth the effort. Quite different from four or five years ago, when you could still earn a small fortune with airdrops. These times are over.
Absolutely correct. I don't even think it is free cos with what you have to complete for most of this airdrop, I think it is too much work with little pay or even nothing cos you cannot really say that you will make anything from what you will get from the airdrop.
448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it bad to leave crypto on exchanges? on: April 25, 2022, 10:57:45 AM
Binance is a centralized exchange and it can freeze your account if they find something fishy in your account. So it's not good to leave crypto on exchanges because they can be hacked/lost or can be locked.
I guess this has been established but also is that there are reasons why people leave their cryptos in exchanges even though not advisable and knowing all the risks involved which mostly involve staking for interest and quick access to trading for traders other than this, I don't see a reason why investors will want to leave their crypto in exchanges no matter how trustworthy but can still easily freeze your assets, be hacked or even outright scam by the exchange resulting to lose.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Fiat Will Always Be The Norm on: April 25, 2022, 10:36:05 AM
The use of fiat cannot be replaced nor vanished by any means of financial system not even cryptocurrency because whether we like it or not any new development on financial system or maybe another new digital finance comes up at the end of the day if it would be adopted and accepted globally it would only be part of the financial system circulating around the global economy. The way of living of every person in the world is not the same and that only means there would be some or many people left behind and vanishing fiat will worst the situation of those people struggling in life.
There is no need for fiat to be gone though, I mean I get that crypto is a currency and people think that the end game is to have bitcoin as the number one currency everywhere and all the people of the world stop using fiat and start using bitcoin as a currency. But that is an unrealistic and actually not even needed level.

What we need to really achieve instead is to have bitcoin as an alternative to fiat of the world, whatever we are using in our nation if bitcoin is the alternative to it then it’s great. If you are in the USA then use dollars mainly but bitcoin should be second, if you are in Europe then euro and then bitcoin, in UK it's pounds then bitcoin so forth so forth. That would be the ideal and achievable place.
I do agree with your opinion and have been mine on some other similar topics in this space. I don't think that fiat should and will be totally eliminated from the system, one because I don't think the Government will allow that. Imagine the US Government forgetting the USDollar for Bitcoin Grin Also, how many of our regular day-to-day stores are actually willing to accept Bitcoin when they know we can have several volatility levels a day.
As you said, the bast is to be there side by side and users can choose between what is convenient for them which I think will be the case anyways.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Concern of illegal use of crypto on: April 25, 2022, 06:16:57 AM
Recently Indian Finance minister N.Sitharaman said Money laundering, terror financing biggest concerns around cryptocurrency...
What can be the remedial step to address this concern.

https://www.bgr.in/news/fm-nirmala-sitharaman-says-biggest-risk-of-crypto-is-laundering-terror-financing-1259977/

I think the biggest takeaway here is, What is the difference in what they are complaining about with cryptocurrencies with what Fait has been used for and is still used for in this contest? The reason they are still mum on Fait being used for Money laundering and terror financing is that seems like the better option instead of crypto since they have been able to point to crypto in this regard and the more reason we should adopt crypto since it is more traceable than fiat in crime-fighting but no, they will rather want to have it banned because of what it represents.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where have you saved your bitcoin keys? on: April 24, 2022, 09:50:02 AM
Personally, I dont use paper, paper can get wet, can be eaten by insects and can catch fire,
the ink can even fade.

I use a stainless Steel plate similar to this > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5323755.0 which is secured very remotely.

I agree and even when this is highly advisable amongst other means we will also consider why most will use or write down on paper preferable in multiple places because of the amount of Bitcoin those investors HODL. I believe this is one of the determinants of how most people save their Bitcoin keys, how much they hodl will influence how far or what they are willing to spend in storing their keys, either way, just keep it safe.
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “A single bitcoin transaction could power the average US household for a month" on: April 24, 2022, 09:32:35 AM
Incredible really that these imbeciles are still embarrassing themselves with these uninformed, completely & utterly pathetic statements. They are so far from reality, it’s not even funny. I guess it just shows we are still early.
They know they are lying and we know they are lying, but does average Joe knows they are lying? I doubt it, when a lie is told in such a way, without any doubts about the veracity of it, the average Joe is simply going to believe it, because for him it is impossible that politicians can lie so openly, so at least there must be some truth behind it, or at least that is what they think, so I will not be surprised to see in the future attempts by politicians to ban POW and force bitcoin to move to POS.
I guess once these F@_k_rs in the government want to keep trying to bring down anything they will continue to push all these false narratives like we continue to see with Bitcoin mining even though there has been proof of several other aspects of the economy that actually uses more energy than Bitcoin mining and as you said, the average Joe who might not even have the time to check might just fall for these lies and I believe they have found a new argument, (POS).
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH wallet password on: April 24, 2022, 08:26:37 AM
if I created a wallet with a password and then exported the private key .Does in any way I will need the password or is the private key sufficient ?
Thanks
I believe it is preferable to save every login detail when you are opening a wallet however with your private keys, you can easily create a different password once you import your wallet to another ETH wallet but I save everything just in case.

455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Long Term Holders - When Do You Plan To Cash Out? on: April 02, 2022, 08:42:10 AM
For those people who are long term holders of btc or any crypto, do you have a plan of when you would sell it?  I am talking about the coins you are holding long term and not trading or selling short term etc.  Such that if you have a set amount of btc or crypto where you are holding long term.

Never. I have some coins that I got for $500 in 2014 and I'm never going to sell, especially not in a situation when it goes to a million dollars. I'd rather use it as a collateral, use it to show my credibility, for proof of ownership. I'd be able to borrow fiat money and invest it knowing that if anything goes wrong I'll be able to cover losses with my BTC. Having a few million USD as backup can work wonders when you know what you're doing.

I wouldn't want to sell my Bitcoin assets ether but talking of using them as collateral, wouldn't this mean you have to give them to the person/institution you are borrowing the funds from for your investment, I believe this is how collateral works? or is there a different way with this?

456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any way stop receiving BSC airdrop tokens? on: March 19, 2022, 10:07:29 AM
these airdropped BSC
Airdrops Grin those are spam airdrop and you cannot really do anything with those tokens are randomly dropped in your wallets as they are even worth nothing and in some cases, if you tried to trade them mostly in some DEXs you might end up giving access to your wallet. The best advice is not to use your main wallet for any airdrop.
457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Huge Future Bitcoin Holders! on: March 19, 2022, 09:22:53 AM
A lot Unknown, that's why I ask a lot of questions.
With over 50 million millionaires across the globe and 21 million BTC , what happens when every millionaire out there gets 1 BTC ?
Half of the 50 is 25 and they can all get the 21million BTC.

In real terms, this scenario can no longer happen because we know that there are investors and Institutions that already own thousands of Bitcoin to themselves and that was even if access to some of the already mined Bitcoin was not lost.

This giving the rich a better chance to be richer, and not to the middle class nor poor.
Ain't this a threat to the future ? Cos I believe, 80% of Bitcoiner's are big time holders.

Thoughts please.
Thank X

This is mostly the case because the Rich already have the liquidity to Invest in Bitcoin so for those that are Bitcoin savvy, they will even acquire more as time goes on and will continue to have the upper hand, and how do you think someone in the lower/middle class can come up with a Bitcoin Investment to put them amongst the Rich?
458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks in Ukraine Restrict Clients from Buying Bitcoin using Ukrainian hryvnia on: March 19, 2022, 08:58:57 AM
How it can affected hryvnia's price if the Ukraine's store didn't yet accept Bitcoin as alternative payment? President Zelenskyy not make Bitcoin as legal tender, so I doubt their citizens will use Bitcoin as a currency since most people buy Bitcoin is for investment asset. Hryvnia's price wouldn't automatically decrease when people use it to buy Bitcoin because it will make their fiat money less circulated. People will still using fiat to buy anything, the value will decrease when government print of significant amount of hryvnia.
I agree. I believe buying Bitcoin by Ukrainians will not directly affect the price of hryvnia but I presume that with the current situation in Ukraine (the war), they would rather have the money within the country remain in circulation for easier access instead of putting it into Bitcoin investment but not because they are against Bitcoin investment also.
459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Scams now the second largest in the world on: March 19, 2022, 07:44:04 AM
I'm not surprised, in fact I've been saying that ever since ICO creation became a thing where anybody could create a token out of thin air and with virtually no cost and then sell it to idiots on the internet, the scams grew a lot more. The token creation platforms such as ethereum were created exactly for this reason, they eased the way to scam people ergo the number of scams grew a lot faster.

What do we really expect from having an open decentralized industry though?
I have to disagree here because it is not only because the market is decentralized (that is one of the smallest reasons). It is mainly because it is hyped up and as I said above, it is super easy to create vaporware and sell it to people who emphatically buy it!
In other words if the hype stops and people started wising up, despite the market still being decentralized, the number of scams shrinks.
We already saw how ICO scams died, but they revived it by renaming it multiple time (ICO, IDO, IBO, IEO, ITO, STO, DeFi, NFT).
You said it all and I definitely agree with you, this is why I personally have been critical of how easy just for anyone to create their own token just out of no were just cos they know how to string some numbers together and because Crypto over the recent years has been seen as an avenue to get rich so, the "idiots" you mentioned above will continue to venture into investing in every new crypto project they see out.
460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Hoard Bitcoin? on: March 19, 2022, 07:23:02 AM
If Bitcoin is a better and higher currency than fiat, why then do bitcoiners hurdle it?
I think money is best used for buying and selling not hoarding, we get to see the value more when using it.
This my thoughts, wby?

In the real sense, I don't think Bitcoin was designed to be spent like the way fiat money is been spent on daily purchases but rather as a hedge against inflation but even though we see some few investments where Bitcoin is been accepted for goods/services, I don't see this as the real essence of Bitcoin hence investors will rather HODL their Bitcoins since it is highly volatile and its price can double or quadruple in time which Fiat cant do.
