241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should be pushed as a dominant global digital currency on: September 04, 2022, 06:43:48 AM
Sounds like forcing btc on people rather than let them discover it themselves.
Btc is such a great tech it doesn't needs to be push on to people, they discover it on their own and love it immediately.
Some government and non government institutions already understand this and have accepted btc. It is better btc get accepted gradually than trying to push it.

I agree with you. I believe some people take time to accept especially new techs. I know of a couple of my buddies I tried introducing Bitcoin to after I eventually got into Crypto properly who didn't want to back then telling me that they don't have that kind of patience then, are also Into Bitcoin investment now. We have seen how some people were condemning the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, saying he forced Bitcoin on his people. People will come around naturally when it is their time to.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cannot stop amazing me on: September 04, 2022, 06:20:27 AM
There have been speculations and projections that Bitcoin price would keep falling until it would soon become worthless, yet people still trust it.
Baseless speculations.
P.S, we don trust here, we verify.
The deputy governor of Bank of England, Sir Jon Cunliffe, said to BBC, “Their price can vary quite considerably and [bitcoins] could theoretically or practically drop to zero."  Also, John Paulson, president and portfolio manager of U.S. investment firm Paulson & Co said to Bloomberg in an interview “Cryptocurrencies, regardless of where they’re trading today, will eventually prove to be worthless. Once the exuberance wears off, or liquidity dries up, they will go to zero. I wouldn’t recommend anyone invest in cryptocurrencies."
https://www.outlookindia.com/website/story/business-news-bitcoins-would-be-worthless-says-bank-of-england/405318
Baseless speculations by these powerful anti-Bitcoin forces have not been able to deter people from investing.

I believe it doesn't matter who these people are or the position they hold in society, this does not make them correct about everything. just yesterday I saw this post, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5411824.0 made here by some Bitcoin hater talking along the same line, and as for the continuous Bitcoin adoption by many in Nigeria, rightly so this is one of the easiest ways to edge against inflation considering how the Naira has been losing value in recent years.
Back in 2015, African Richest Man Aliko Dangote warns we’ll end up buying a dollar at N500 and today it is about N700-$1 in a country where it is also difficult to access FX hence the adoption of Bitcoin will continue to grow regardless of what the Government through the Central Bank has ordered and besides, which other Investment will give you the type of profit you get from Bitcoin over time.

243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS DEAD! on: September 03, 2022, 07:47:48 AM
Be patient, HODL. Stay calm… Grin

Bitcoin has been declared “dead” many times or at least twice a year since 2010. and whatever the reason even if it makes sense, just ignore it.
Bitcoin won't survive this time. PoW + energy crisis 2022 = BTC Crash
Well Like every other Bitcoins DEATH that has been put out there before now, I guess you just have to wait for this to pass as well so that people like you understand that Bitcoin is going nowhere and I really don't see the reason for too much debate on this because no one is being forced to invest in Bitcoin if you enjoy BSV then stay with that.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Designed Wrist Watch - Selling For $400,000😱😱 on: September 03, 2022, 07:18:52 AM
Truth be told, even the big bag holders who acquire this kind of metal piece are all with the mindset of an investment. What I was looking out for in the article is to find out how many karat golds the watch is made up of, because most smart people that wear  this type of expensive jewelry are with the investment mindset that is their can resale the watch x 10 of the amount they bought it in the next few years just like Bitcoin, spending 100k to own a Bitcoin is never a stupid idea rather the wisest and smartest idea so the article referring to spending $400,000 as stupid money is wrong unless the watch has no investment value attached to it which I doubt that even though the article does not mention how many cubics of gold is embedded in the watch.
I definitely agree with you. I don't suppose all those items mentioned in the Youtube video are just mare ordinary items without worth
Quote
The black DLC titanium Astronomia Solar Bitcoin is interspersed with details linked to the Bitcoin universe. A Bitcoin currency logo. A flying tourbillon. A yellow sapphire sun, a diamond moon and a golden Earth. A rocket to reach the stars.

So I believe those that will be investing in this piece are definitely going to be doing that because they know it can bring in profits in later years.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about altcoin market on: September 02, 2022, 11:07:34 AM
In my opinion, the altcoin market is very bad, because if you analyze it,
a lot of altcoins have dropped from their ATH by more than -70% and some even have -90% more,
how? this is what makes me really have to stay away from altcoins if the price has gone up high when the market is bullish
All of the crypto projects in the markets are down 70% and more but this is not a problem considering you are HODLing some good Altcoins and not just some shitcoins plus really, this is the best time to Buy any GOOD crypto project from Bitcoin to ALtcoins, I understand some people will only buy back once the market starts going back up but maximizing your investment means buying when the market is down by 80% or more which most ALts have seen.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be worth zero? on: September 02, 2022, 10:46:08 AM
We all know how volatile and unpredictable the cryptocurrency market can be. One month, a coin may be at its peak of value, and the next, it may have almost no value at all. Unfortunately, this is simply the name of the game when it comes to cryptography. But what would happen if the oldest and most valuable asset on the market, Bitcoin, dropped to zero?

https://portalcripto.com.br/en/crypto-crash-2022-bitcoin-pode-valer-zero/
font: https://portalcripto.com.br
By the way, why do we keep having this sort of question about Bitcoin only when the market condition is in the bear trajectory? Is it that we have never seen this market dips before? It has to take more than mare bear market sentiment to think Bitcoins price will fall to zero plus, I agree with what goldkingcoiner stated here:

Truthfully, I very much doubt Bitcoin will ever be worth absolutely zero. Even the dollar note could never be worth less than the paper it is printed on. There must always be a bottom value. And unless we see an abrupt and sudden deadly, unfixable flaw with Blockchain, the technology behind Bitcoin, then there is nothing to worry about. And anyway, its best not to dwell on impossible scenarios. They only fuel your personal FUD.
If there is no disastrous problem with the network how can Bitcoin cost less than what it takes to mine it?
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tokpie Exchange is a pure Scam. Be warned!!!! on: September 01, 2022, 04:25:13 PM
My Tokpie Exchange journey, i deposited my fund to trade their. I bought the native token of the exchange (TKP) but i can't trade it back to Eth, BNB, USDC or WBTC.
I wrote to support and they told me that i should place order based on their terms or forget about it. But the evil part of it is that they are selling below the price they want us to place.
Right now, my funds are trapped their. If you write anything about it on the Telegram group, they will delete. There are screenshots as evidence to these.
I am posting this, so that others won't fall victim of this evil that Tokpie Exchange is dishing in the Blockchain Space.
Stay away from Tokpie Exchange but you if you have experience any manipulation from them, drop your own experience here.
Tokpie officials can as well come and clear us here.
This is quite fun of that exchange. I haven't really done any serious trading and withdrawal there but I once had a few tokens for some bounty that was paid into that exchange and put them in sales which were later confirmed weeks or months later cos of low volume however because the amount is small I didn't bother withdrawing but one thing I noticed is the exchange request of an Account upgrade, 20000 TKP is what you have to HOLD to qualify to upgrade from trial to Light and that is about $2580, why would I want to spend that in an exchange with no Volume and trust? If not for that one bounty I probably wouldn't have known any exchange like that. My advice is to stay away too.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lost 10 BTC in between Feb and May on: September 01, 2022, 11:48:35 AM
Namaste Group

I have been trading since 2017 and ride a lot in crypto and forex rollercoaster. I earned my fortune in 2020 bull run and lost everything.

I am here to share this bcaz, i get out of that depression frustration and misery.
I have again starting trading and came here to share my past and get some valuable knowledge from fellow traders.

thank you/ dhanyawaad for reading my post.
Sorry for what happened there mate but I believe the problem with losing in trading without having the proper experience is you trying to make back your investment quickly without taking a step back to see what you have done or doing wrongly. This happened to me back in 2015 when I was trading forex and even then I was just introduced to FX trading and had little experience when I lost that first $1000 I just wanted to make my money back and went in with another $1000 trade and lost again under few minutes so when I was introduced to crypto, I took my time but did lose some but not as what happened in FX trading.
Now I am more of a HODLer in crypto than a trader but will still trade if I feel I see an entry.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early Birds are always on time - Bitcoin, king In the crypto space. on: September 01, 2022, 11:33:17 AM
I  lost the asset I invested in the coins below, is better to invest in Bitcoin than some scam Altcoins.
(.....)
I remember myself through this line.
Way back I started to introduce Bitcoin I think around the year 2017. Bitcoin is the first real deal before when I started in the cryptocurrency world. But after that, as a newbie, you get easily lured by some random altcoins so some of my Bitcoins before or hard-earned are starting to allocate on random shitcoins or altcoins, and yeah, if I just stayed on Bitcoin I could have saved a lot of profits.
You are right but for me, I knew about cryptocurrency in 2016 but started proper crypto trading or investing in 2017, and soon after that the market went into a Bull market and I actuallly invested in a few altcoins and made good profits from them because ofcause it was the bull market Smiley however, I didn't know that there was a bear market since I was just entering crypto and did lose some of those profits however with the experience in the market now, I believe Investing in Bitcoin regardless of the time but being able to hodl for a long time is what actually matters more, cos as we know now some early birds in Bitcoin are not as fortunate as we would think cos they never see Bitcoin in this position.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Billions burning rate on: August 31, 2022, 09:48:58 AM
Killing another zero will be a very easy thing as long as there was a hype to make it happen.

"killing another zero" means pump from $8T marketcap to $80T marketcap (top 3 CMC). Killing one more zero means pump to $800T marketcap (2 times bigger than bitcoin). and its only a meme coin. Joke that was funny in 2021. Its not funny anymore.

What do you think about Shiba inu billions of tokens getting burned from time to time? How do you think this will affect the price in the few years to come?

Shiba does not have max supply. Means that people still mint new coins. Most likely there are more new coins coming in than being burned.
I agree with what you are saying though but in terms of the max supply case, Shiba Inus detail coingecko states that It has a circulating supply of 590 Trillion SHIB coins and a total supply of 1 Quadrillion. If this is the case if there is any additional minting would this not be reflected in the blockchain? By the way, I too think it is going to take a whole lot more token burns for Shiba Inu to get near to that price.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n41GPPhLkhI&t=30s

Keeping in mind the most important factor, without gold and silver, all electronic equipment wouldn't exist = bitcoin would not exist. Computers, phones, tv's, etc ALL require silver and gold to be manufactured.
Here we go again. Just FYI, everything in life happens for a reason and is all connected or interconnected to each other's development. If humans didn't exist then... I guess you know the rest. It is because we existed every other thing that will aid human existence existed and this view of Gold and Silver being used to develop whatever assisted in Bitcoin creation does not take away what Bitcoin is and as far as I am concerned, there is no correlation in this.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin market only surviving picture taken 11 years ago today! on: August 30, 2022, 08:59:08 AM
After the initiation of Faucet where traders were gifted 5 btc each,
5 btc is quite a lot now, reading this is making me wish I was one of the beneficiaries. I was curious after reading this and made some research of my own to see if this early bitcoin exchange faucet developed into another current day exchange, but couldn't find any information to that end. Any information on that?

I would bet a dollar you would have sold all your btc at the first all time high Wink, it is easy now to wish to be among the very few btc beneficiaries but it wasn't so easy back then because the future of btc was not very clear, majority of them sold those btc cheap as it was given free. 5 btc at current price is 100k  Grin even the best soothsayer in the world couldn't have predict that.
But here we are btc surprises all of us, most of the early btc adopters are left with nothing but regrets.
Exactly. I was wondering what those people that came across Bitcoin in those early days and sold off would have thought about when the price of Bitcoin started growing. I keep going back to this story of Shiksay “Sziky” Miklos who
left a comment for Sports.ru about participating in the AoV iCCup StarLeague. At the tournament, the cybersportsman took 5th place and received 25 bitcoins. Then they were valued at $ 41.
Imagine taking $40 instead of 25 Bitcoins those Bitcoin are worth above $500k at today's price. Cry only if they knew.
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Upcoming release of funds to its creditors vs Btc Price on: August 30, 2022, 05:54:24 AM
.... Do you think they are going to hold it ?
They were able to live and wait for years so I won't be surprised if they hold on to it until the next run or longer to maximize their returns.

It's up to them at the end of the day so just be prepared to sell or convert to stable coin if you're too worried about what they will do.

I don't think that they will hold these bitcoins or are willing to hold them. When Mt gox was hacked, the price of bitcoin was nothing as compared to now. These people are lucky to get that money back and they will dump it right away as first of all it is free money for them and secondly, they have waited enough.  Smiley

Maybe but I am guessing most will dump 50% which would have been way more than what they had in value then and because they have seen what Bitcoin is now, I bet they would love to hodl some till the next bull market to even gain more from that too, that's what I would have done.
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dip, Dipper, Dippest on: August 30, 2022, 05:36:34 AM
Yeah, I also think BTC will make move now to 27k$, but it again dumped to 20K$. The reason for this dip may be Mtgox news, they are releasing BTC, so many of them will sell and dump the market. This news has created panic in the market. So BTC dumping.
That didn't happen yet so there is no confirmation there that this is the case besides, even before the Mtgox rumor, Bitcoin has been trading between the $17k it fell to in July to around $24k+ which looks more like a sideways movement from the chat to me if you look from a daily chart plot unlike what was happing from previous months of decline. However, I hope it doesn't dip more cos we could see a $16300 BTC price next.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the market rise in september on: August 29, 2022, 12:58:37 PM
when viewed from the analysis of Bitcoin prices, September could be a green month for crypto currencies,
because bitcoin support at $20k has proven to be very strong,
and some experts have also given their analysis that bitcoin will increase to $25k and even $30k
The market has not been that easy to predict because for the past few weeks say from 19 to 26 August 2022, the price of Bitcoin was stuck between 20k-21k, and right after the Bitcoin price dropped to $20k even $19k+ but we can always zoom out to a bigger time frame to understand that the market still looks like it is in a bear trend. The supposedly Bitcoin experts have not always gotten it right in their prediction sometimes.
256  Economy / Economics / Re: State Of Corruption In Nigeria Amidst World Corruption on: August 29, 2022, 10:29:46 AM
To be candid, it had gone zigzag from the top to the bottom. The best way I could suggest to Nigerians to fight corruption is to start changing their leaders. I indeed mean the REVOLUTION. By doing this, the bottom shall put themselves in order.

I wish it were as simple as you have mentioned, but the leaders are not willing to give the youth a fair chance to rule, they don't want to live the space for the youth, and they are old and not fit enough to eradicate the corruption foundation they have established, but even as this thing has become ugly, they refuse to let the youth rule the country. Peter Obi is planning to run for president next year, I hope he succeeds, but I doubt it since those old folks are soiled with politics.
Who keeps the old people in the office? the youths are the ones that are not serious about taking power. Power cannot be given, it should be taken and the youths have the numbers only if they have the will. When the campaign begins, how many old people are out there doing the campaign if not the youths as long as they collect some small money? You would expect the so-called influential youths to build theirs from scratch and take control if they really want to but you would notice they keep sucking to these old corrupt folks.
During the past ENDSARS movement, the youths came together but we all know what people like Desmond Elliot said about them and forget that he is in that class too.
Even now, Why is Bank W and Funke Akindele shacking up with the old Corrupt people's party? why can't they just form their own alliance and take these old folks out of office?
The corruption has eaten deep into the system whether old or young and it is going to take a miracle for this to be turned, as you have mentioned, I do believe Peter Obi will be able to come through for the Country but that is IF he eventually wins cos youths in some part of the country still don't know how to separate facts from tribal sentiment.

257  Economy / Economics / Re: Do cash control spending more than digital or crypto currency? on: August 29, 2022, 10:11:30 AM
A recent research by the Britsh Post Office unveiled that 71% of Brits planning on going on vacation in the UK this year intends to take out cash before leaving. There have been high increase in cash deposit and withdrawals in Britain. People are going back to cash because they believe that it keeps tighter control on their spending as living costs soar.

It is believed that cash helps people budget, as using it means you literally can count the pennies. Paying with a card or crypto currency make spending easy and convenient that sometimes one tends to overspend. Sometimes one might not even know the balance of his account but with cash you are always aware of how much you have.

What do you think?

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-62437819
I believe this is just mainly a fact of indiscipline with spending from people saying that regardless of the percentage. The reason I use cash these days is that most of the local shops around our area are not on pos but the bigger shops have so no problem with does. Whether spending paper fiat or digital card to me makes no difference cos I don't think you will spend more via digital means than how you would if you had cash on you. Also, another downside to using cash sometimes is, that some traders might not have the complete change to give you and you might end up leaving some change for them imagine if this is done a few more times but this is not so with digital payment.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why is bitcoin price important? on: August 28, 2022, 11:25:36 AM
alot of posts seem to be focused on the price of bitcoin. i understand why because they are wanting to sell it for a profit but is that the purpose of bitcoin or was there some other purpose for it? i thought it was originally designed to just be a way to transfer digital cash in a decentralized manner but it seems like people don't really care about that part of it and all they care about is what its price is. seems they got the wrong idea of bitcoin.

thing is, for alot of people it seems like when bitcoin price is "high" they think that means it is succeeding more than when it is "low". but if we think about bitcoin's intended purpose, it doesn't matter what the price is as long as bitcoin can be transferred peer to peer without any centralized party being involved. so if bitcoin was worth $1 people shouldn't complain.
Whether you believe that was what it was created for from the beginning should not restrict it to that level alone. I believe if Bitcoin still remained as just a decentralized digital transfer without the price increase/volatility to it, most people wouldn't have been engaged in it as we see today, so, evolution is a good thing as Bitcoin has evolved into more than just a Peer-to-peer (P2P) entity but also an Investment opportunity.
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Having losses? Or people are not going the right way on: August 28, 2022, 06:59:51 AM
Who wants to become rich over the night, crypto is not for them. they should do bank robbery or any other things. I think most of the people included in the survey chose some worst shit coin so they must lose a big amount. Even bought Bitcoin in ATH and also lost a couple of x from that price. So if people don't have enough patience they can't make a profit. I can say they just come on the crypto just to become a millionaire or something like that. They just jump into crypto to get a profit but they don't know how to make a profit from crypto. It is not easy like pump dump shit coin and as we know everyone cannot be a gainer from the pump dump shit coin. If you want to make money from crypto then you must be a strong holder.
You are right. I saw this from one other post here and I think it totally illustrates what the Subject is talking about.

Most people in crypto today are more "supposedly" traders and not investors. They are looking to make quick money as you said and don't even know how to do that thinking they can buy any crypto and the price will double in a short time but if that didn't happen they panic. I believe that it requires knowledge for you to know what happens in the market and most people don't what to do that, and with market knowledge, you can practice patience which usually pays in the end only if you also INVESTED in the right cryptos.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the dip and Invest in Bitcoin for long term on: August 28, 2022, 05:58:30 AM
Yes its a best idea because now mostly cryptocurrency wan,t run perfectly due to whole market down and we won't believe on this they have some future or not but Bitcoin have a bright future everyone know so in every dip I recommend investing in Bitcoin is better ....
Bitcoin is always not the same as other cryptocurrencies in terms of the future, because Bitcoin still has a very good future even though it is experiencing a price drop like now.
But for other cryptocurrencies I still have doubts about its future even though there has been improvement and continuous development, it is still very possible to experience a severe crash in the market.
Quite frankly, the whole market is in that "severe crash" as you know, Bitcoins price action affects all other cryptocurrency prices hence the dip you see with all other crypto prices.

Bitcoin thus far has dropped -71% from its ATH and could still dip more and yes some Alts have had a worse dip from ATH but I believe that a few Alts also have proven themselves and can go through the bear season as they have done before.
