I think it's starting to become clear that bears are losing their hold over this market. They try to instigate a panic with huge market sell orders or attempt to erode bull confidence with pump and dump tactics but the price still seems to be slowly but steadily pushing upwards if you filter out all that noise. Once the daily MACD goes into positive territory we could see a huge spike into the stratosphere. And I mean really huge because it will coincide with a breakout of the bullish wedge that has been forming since December 2013. I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) I think the Bears have had their day(s), and the Huge Rally is finally starting to form. The Bears could totally get wiped out. Wouldn't be a bad thing though.

So I'm thinking about getting into bitcoin trading and stuff, and I plan to begin storing my first bitcoins soon. I've read for this sense it is much safer to have Linux than for example Windows (as it is for a lot of other aspects aswell). Do you think is this really a thing to consider? Do I need to have tons of bitcoins before I get concerned about their safety? Should I consider switching to Linux if I'm storing just a few of them, or is it stupid?
Thanks erry'one in advance.
Linux is considered better in terms of security. I would suggest going for cold storage once you accumulate some bitcoins. This matters more than the kind of OS you have.

It is my understanding that bitcoin wallets are created through a hash table with 64 bits of alphanumeric characters. What happens when all wallets are completely used up? What happens then? Just a curiosity question.
I guess you are talking about bitcoin addresses and not wallets. Given the number of addresses possible, it is unlikely to happen when mankind rules. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) There are so many addresses that the probability of an identical address being generated by 2 users is almost zero. That should happen long before all addresses are used up.

If a nation would buy 1% of total Bitcoin ever available (210k) at current prices (50M USD) and announce that this is their official currency, they would become world's wealthiest nation almost overnight.
Why do you think of a nation? 1% could be bought by a person. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

It depends on the transaction amount. For low value transactions, 1 confirmation is enough. Double spend is considered next to impossible if there are 6 confirmations.

The OP should really give us an idea of what he has in mind. His post is so open-ended that people are left wondering.

so much . i believe it pricewill be backat 500 this year so impatient and gentleman
Actually, the current price is no reason not to spend bitcoins. You can always spend and then immediately buy back from an exchange.

From the gambling site's point of view, do they really monitor transaction fees included in transactions? My guess is they will just process the bitcoins received. I don't see why transaction fees included by you should have a role to play.

Hello, ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Im pretty new to bitcoins. The reason i started using it was because its a decentralized currency. In the past 2 days i earned BTC 0.00086190. Well. Not much as you can see. So i made 2 sites to earn some more. http://earnbit.ml and http://bitblock.cu.ccWith earnbit i earned only 746 satoshi :/ and with Bitblock i only earned 533 Satoshi which comes into a total of 1279 Satoshi... Which is not even 1 dollar cent. So if i look back in my previous projects. The projects with teams were much better! And then i came up with a idea. I need a team. If we connect our ideas/skills together we can earn much more bitcoins than before! If you want to help. Just reply ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Stick around this forum for a little more time and join a signature campaign. You will definitely earn more than the satoshis you got at those sites. Once you are well established here, you can think about forming a team with others. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

My understanding is that disabling Change Addresses reduces privacy and I would like to maintain privacy.
That is absolutely correct. Change addresses help you maintain privacy and it is always advisable to enable them. From what I read it also seems that I have to really understand Change Addresses and use them correctly otherwise I could easily lose my bitcoin. From where did you get this notion? You can't lose your bitcoins by not understanding how change addresses work.

Hi All, I installed Electrum on my Win 7 pc and I'm now trying to learn how to use it properly. I'm a newbie now digging into bitcoin details. Wow. It's a little more complicated than I expected. I'm now trying to wrap my head around things like Change Addresses and related topics. Not easy for a newb like me. But I like learning new things. Are there wallets keychains that successfully and safely hide all the complexities of Change Addresses without putting coins at risk? Or, to put it another way, what is the best wallet for total techno-phobic newbies who are allergic to any technical details? Is something like the Coinbase online wallet best for total non-geek newbies? Does the Coinbase wallet successfully and safely hide all Change Address and other complexity? Thanks, Advait PS: I'm a fanatic about backing up my important data in multiple ways. PPS: I'm also reading thru the posts at http://bitzuma.com/posts/a-beginners-guide-to-the-electrum-bitcoin-wallet/. There's a lot to learn! Electrum is an awesome choice. I am not sure I understand what you mean by "safely hide all the complexities of Change Addresses", but electrum has an option to enable/disable change addresses. With respect to backing up data, you don't need to worry. You just need to note down the 12 word seed. Back that up in as many ways as you see fit. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

just use electrum , its better in all ways online wallets are never 100% safe , offline wallets are if threated like they arent
What do you mean with offline wallets? Every type of wallet is online, I think you wanted to say "desktop wallet" or am I wrong? However greenAddress (in my opinion) is the best secure/strong webWallet much better than blockchain.info . Perhaps he meant cold storage? Nope. Didn't you just read the post after it? #44. Please avoid posts like these. Non-constructive+signature advertisement - may get a small period ban. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) -MZ Did you try reporting it? You seem to be the one with a pay/post signature campaign, boosting your post count. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

time to invest bitcoin now and hold for long time. just my opinion.
Even if you think this is the time to invest, you should invest only a portion of your funds in it - whatever you are prepared to lose. Bitcoin is a risky investment.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the replies. Per your suggestions, I downloaded and installed Electrum. So far so good.
Cheers,
Advait
Good choice. Electrum is a great wallet for beginners.
