With these solid results from Team Secret, it does look like he's not moving back to BOOM Esports anytime soon. Maybe his contract with BOOM Esports is until the rest of the DPC season, so they only have to wait it out before he can officially be on the roster.
Formally, FBZ is just a loan from Boom Esports but I am sure that Puppey and the entire Team Secret is enjoying with his company and impressed with how he's reacting and playing with the team. The adjustment on him was too easy and that's what I have noticed with FBZ, he's an underrated player but look at him now. Possible that this will continue until the TI qualifiers.

While many teams were already out of Dream League, it's better if the next season will be scheduled very well and won't be close to the most important tournaments like this one that's coming which is the Bali major.

Look at how shit Team Liquid was, they're just like giving this away and wouldn't think of the prize pool that they'll get on this Dream League and for qualifying to the Riyadh master, they just let it go for the other teams as they're already qualified for TI and needs to prepare on it and will fly to Indonesia for the major.
2022  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Bitcoin an exceptional figure among other coins on: June 13, 2023, 12:27:08 PM
Bitcoin and bitcointalk are different from others because Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency is the most decentralized cryptocurrency and also since 2009 till date Bitcoin has not been under any control be it by individuals or governments thereby making Bitcoin a free market for all.
That's right, no central power controls the bitcoin network but in terms of its market share. Manipulative media is there to spread fear to those that can't take the market.

Thus, the makes people think that even Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency but being an asset and tradable store of value, there can be factors that it can move the price towards to the likes of those that has a bigger market share.

Also, bitcointalk is the most resourceful forum among all the other cryptocurrency forums and this peculiarity and success is ascribed to the forum association with bitcoin which also is the most successful coin among other cryptocurrencies.
Bitcointalk is historical and satoshi was once here and that's why this place has a special place to everyone's heart. And today, there are also other source of information but we can't deny the fact that it all started here. So the scattered info from place to place and website to website, most of those resources came from here.

2023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bhutan's Secret Crypto Investments: A Game-Changing Strategy for Small Nations? on: June 12, 2023, 09:52:56 AM
i bet there are other nations that secretly stack sats.
That is for sure.

They don't just want to make a noise that they're in and if there's money on it, why waste effort into making noise while making money silently?

While Bitcoin is already on the mainstream, maybe in reality there are still a very few number of countries that still don't know or don't like Bitcoin.

But if they're going to use their resources and secretly mine and accumulate sats then they'll benefit from it. They don't have to invest a lot but if their country is plausible for greener energy and the climate is better, that's a great prospect to start mining with them and have those equipment delivered to them and have it setup so that it can start make money for them.

not only governments but many politicians as well. this is one very good avenue for them to hide their riches, right?
so more then likely a lot of politicians esp those with high percentage of corrupt officials are silently accumulating some of these cryptocurrencies. a lot of them are holding their crypto discreetly to avoid criticisms as well as not disclosing their wealth to the public. you won't tax a person if they don't declare this in their assets.
It's much better if it goes to the actual government rather than individual politicians because with its actual government, the fund will go actually to the government and can be spent into good programs. While if it's with these politicians, they can conduct it individually and that can be a private operations on their own.

While they have the money to buy the equipment and start their own mining operations. No one can even know that they're into it while running it and acting as government official.

Well, it's being considered that politicians are also the government because they're part of it but in some countries, it's known that they can't be trusted with public's fund.
2024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 12, 2023, 07:42:13 AM
It is obvious that Denver has the big advantage nobody questions that and maybe Miami will not pull a Cavs and win this series, BUT that doesn't mean that they need to lose the next game. They could still make it 3-2 and then lose 4-2 as well and when you are betting that's all that matters.
Whether we like it or not, many are anticipating that they're going to lose the match tomorrow. But who knows if they'll prolong the series but if ever they lose by tomorrow and Nuggets is proclaimed as the champ then it's acceptable by everyone. We're seeing the reality that even if we want to see a longer series with this finals, I don't think that we'll see that. They even struggled against Celtics when they've got 3-0.

I feel like there weren't all that many people who said Denver would be the champions this year, not zero but not a lot neither so it is still a question mark if they will get the next game but whoever ends up winning the eventual season long bet, that will be a good one. I hope that it goes on until the 7th game to be fair, even if Denver wins it at 7th game and not much changes, it would still be fun to watch that, but unfortunately I can't see that happening this series to be fair.
Many aren't expecting them until the playoffs has came and then they've kicked the Lakers without losing against them. That's why for this finals, it's all being expected by many even not their fans are amazed and understood that they've come along the way and they truly are strong this season.

I think that these organizations have got money to do that and apply them to have another passport if these problems have already been foreseen but we'll see the development and news about it as we go near to the date of the major which we still got 3 weeks from now.
If only it was that easy to fix we'd barely see teams needing a substitute, but I don't have high hopes when even OG who has a lot of money to spend was forced to play with a stand-in during the Berlin Major.
Well, that's true. And before the Bali major, we've got the Dreamleague. One SEA team has got their VISA delayed and that's the Execration so if you're going to look at the page --> https://liquipedia.net/dota2/DreamLeague/Season_20

Before they were there but not anymore and even if they make it to the venue, they'll be losing by a default. This is a no DPC tournament but any team that will participate here will have a lot of cash prizes.

And whoever wins 1st and 2nd will be qualified to the Riyadh masters where money is flowing more with a cash prize pool of $15M.

Welcome PytagoraZ to bitcointalk!

Now that you know that newbies aren't restricted to make new threads. Remember this, if you're going to make new threads you have to make sure that there's no thread yet that's made or if there's ever made about certain topic that you're about to do then it should be old enough.

Why I am saying this? Because there have been newbies that have been making new useless threads even if they're probably aware of those threads that they make. And that's leading to many of them into being banned and you don't want that to happen to you.

So how to figure out if there's a thread that's make for the topic you're about to make or to ask, use the search box at the top right and use keywords for that topic you wanna make.
2028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: June 06, 2023, 11:30:45 PM
I hope that all of them win against any VISA issue that they might face going to Indonesia.
This is unavoidable for a few players because a few weeks ago, there was a discussion about 33 not attending the Bali Major due to his nationality and Fly would be affected as well.
Oh yeah, Fly is also an Israeli but I hope that he's got a Canadian passport or any other passport aside from Israeli passport to show so that he can still attend and face no problem for his VISA entering Bali.

I think that these organizations have got money to do that and apply them to have another passport if these problems have already been foreseen but we'll see the development and news about it as we go near to the date of the major which we still got 3 weeks from now.

It's unfortunate for both players if this is true, but on the bright side, they're already qualified for TI anyway so their teams don't have to perform as much.
That's the consolation that they've got, if ever these two won't make it to Bali, they're good to cheer their teammates and just have to prepare for the TI.
2029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: June 05, 2023, 11:06:08 PM
So the match of Talon and Execration was done and it ended up good for Execration as they're now qualified for the Bali major. While Talon, it's just for the potential placing but they're also likely to get a secured slot.

There's only one match remaining and that's Army Geniuses and Blacklist. If Blacklist wins against AG then the placing will be BL on 3rd and Talon as 4th and both of them will still go to the major.

But if BL loses against AG then we have a decider placing match which is the battle for 3rd and 4th place but still, both places will go Bali major but the difference is the DPC points.
Based on the Liquipedia rankings, it should be more than enough since the minimum will only go down even further.

On top of the Blacklist win, we'll still be getting a tiebreaker, but it's between them and Execration fighting for second and third place.

There's also unfortunate news Team Secret will be heading to Division 2 for the next season after failing to win the last two maps against Tundra. I wonder who'll be the other team that'll join them.
Yeah, Team Secret is going back to division 2 together with D1 Hustlers while here are the teams on WEU in particular order that will join the Bali major, congrats to them:

  • Tundra Esports
  • Gaimin Gladiators
  • Quest Esports
  • Team Liquid

Source --> https://liquipedia.net/dota2/Dota_Pro_Circuit/2023/3/Western_Europe/Division_I

I hope that all of them win against any VISA issue that they might face going to Indonesia.

--

Whilst on the SEA, here are the teams in particular order that qualified to go to Bali:

  • Bleed Esports
  • Blacklist Rivalry
  • Execration

There was a match of XCTN and BL but BL won more DPC points and got 2nd.

2030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: June 04, 2023, 09:10:55 PM
It's better to be safe than sorry. I think if we're going to be vocal with our Bitcoin holdings, it's better to use some safe and counter words as if we're no longer have it.

Like, "Yeah, it was a good investment until I've sold and made a profit from it and then I've spent all of my profit for my needs and entertainment."

And from there, you'll stop that you'll put it on their minds that you will still plan to buy it but you don't know when. I know there are friends of us that we can trust but most of them can't. So, if you're gonna be talkative and overwhelmed talking about your assets, always make sure to use safe words and make them believe that you're once into it but not anymore today.

While they're not yet secured for the Bali major as they only have 1 match remaining. I think if they've just won against Xerxia, they are probably secured a slot now.

I think that if Bleed and Talon will win their respective matches as both of them still has two matches, maybe Blacklist will end 3rd or 4th but will still qualify for the major.

I'm avoiding to bet on them because they're still inconsistent IMO.
I agree five wins would've guaranteed them third place, and for now, they have to root for SMG and Talon to take down Execration to avoid the tiebreaker scenario.

That's why i've been betting against them this tour because in the last two tours, they've been a letdown and only shown some improvements in their previous two or three series.

As for some news about the DPC points and The International 2023, Gaimin Gladiators just got enough points so they're already got their direct invitation to go there and the same goes for the first SA team to get a direct invite which is the EG.

In total, we've got three teams securing slot for the TI 2023.

  • Team Liquid
  • GG
  • Evil Geniuses

2032  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Animated video on the introduction to bitcoin for kids and newbies on: June 01, 2023, 09:13:00 PM
It was a 4:30 minutes long video. I've firstly noticed about telling that Bitcoin is the first digital currency, I mean that's true in beginners term but straight to the fact, it's not. Much better if it's said that it's the first cryptocurrency in the introduction. However, at the conclusions part, it has mentioned the right thing of what I am saying about being the first crypto.

That was a good video but it didn't reiterate about the scams and phishings when it had tackled about safety. It's said that it rarely happens for the theft and only said more about the forgetting of password of the wallet.

Well, it's fair enough and this is a good introduction for the newbies and those that haven't heard about Bitcoin. Thanks for sharing op!

2033  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Phishing "MyMixer.io" SCAM! - Fake Cryptomixer on: May 31, 2023, 11:20:22 PM
Thanks OP for posting this.

You can't expect Google/YouTube and even Facebook to take these scam and phishing websites to be down as soon as possible. But as soon as you're able to report them, they'll deal with it.

That's what we can hope for them because if we will just rely on them and no one reports these type of websites, they'll not filter and won't remove it unless someone reports it.

With a tough competition gone to the market of mixers, they'll keep coming and only a few legitimate will remain because it's like a gold rush for the genuine ones but as well as for the scammers.

Blacklist won this match. It was a good match up and despite that, both teams are likely to go together in Bali major but the difference is their DPC points whoever gets a better standing at the end of this tour.

Going to WEU, what a pitiful 2nd and 3rd map for Team Secret. They've won with their first map but then got swept by Quest for 2nd and 3rd map. There's a serious change that I think Puppey needs to do in terms of draft like the third map with their pick, it's not really wise at all to get that medusa as part of their picks.

Quest won easy and ATF's anti-mage offlane made it easy for Team Secret's medusa to struggle in farming.

As much as many would like to see Team Secret win, they just can't. Dota is rough for them.
That win from Blacklist was impressive, and it's now their major spot to lose, as they still have one series left against AG. And I need to stop betting against them because this is my third time fading these guys and i'm now 0-3. Tongue

I was impressed with Team Secret when they won that Windranger pick in the first game, I thought they were most likely losing, but it still worked regardless of the hero's bad record in the DPC games. The Medusa pick was okay in game 3, but they fell for Quest's trap after banning carry heroes in the first phase, and Quest quickly countered her with an offlane AM.
The pick was fine but Quest did managed to counter that too easy and that offlane AM was just so sick and annoying for Crystallis' medusa. I hate it and I'll be tilted if ever I'm on his shoe, keep on dying easily.

We're in the final week of the DPC Division 1 and Bleed got some good odds against Blacklist Rivalry. They're only one win away from locking their spot in the major but their biggest priority is going 7-0 and taking first place because they haven't earned any points in the last two tournaments.

2037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a Gambler and a Die-Hard Fan of a Club Would you Bet Against your Club on: May 28, 2023, 08:28:51 PM
Well, business is business. There isn't any cons on betting against your club, as the objective here is to predict who is going to win and not to cheer for one team or another.
Exactly.

The club owners and members and other fans won't even get mad at you just because you see the odds is better than the opponent and you think that your favorite club will lose this day. People wouldn't even care if you lose, so why care for the thoughts of others since you're not even associated with the entire club and you're just the same as the others for being a fan.

at the end of the day, what matters is how much you have in your pockets? that is true, people won't care if you lose or not. so better think of yourself and not others.
without a doubt, some people even bet on the opposite team if they see such advantage. after all, people do care about their financial gain on this activity, whether you are a die-hard fan or not.
Yes.

It's all about how much you've got. You can do whatever you want with any amount on your pocket whether to bet it for your favorite club or to their opponent.

Nobody really cares unless you're part of a circle of truly die hard fans of your favorite clubs/teams and you tell them that you never bet for that club. They might mock you but who cares, it isn't their money and you're the one taking the risk.

That's why let's just go with the reality and people shouldn't care as well for other people's validation. I thought that it's just for some case but even in gambling which is another personal matter, everyone shouldn't intidimated such as betting for your likes or not.

Moreover, from a wider perspective, let's imagine the fans of a team bet against their club, and use the profit made with this bet to help their team financially on the next season, so the club could hire superior players and support staff to improve the team's performance.

That would be crazy, but still practicable, right?
Yeah crazy. These are like the die hard fans but that's out of scope and you're not obligated to do such for the club as they've got sums of budget per season and per contract of their hired people whether the staff or the players.

But to show support with the money you've won, you're free to do that and no one can stop you unless they think it's inappropriate or harsh for them.
2039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: May 26, 2023, 09:41:48 PM
There's also Team Secret against Entity. Team Secret has not shown anything so far this season but maybe it's just like last season when they finally get their plays in the final qualifiers and then went great at TI.
Looks like there's no hope for Team Secret. Even if too many fans are counting on them and thinking that they'll be the best to get onto this upcoming major, they're struggling on qualifying it. They're at the bottom of this tour 3 and might be out after week 3.

I don't think two remaining matches will be enough, these two will be against Quest which is also a good team and as well as Tundra. These aren't going to be easy wins for them.

Too tough for them and they've been always like this. I guess that we'll see another roster shuffle on them unless Puppey really believes on their roster that shall take them to the TI stage. It is what the utmost thing for this year to every team to be considered.

They might be back to division 2 and will have to go through the qualifiers and I think they can make it there but it's gonna be tough, really tough.
2040  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 25, 2023, 05:35:53 PM
Changing of terms and conditions without notifying the users or gamblers is normal with online gambling websites?
That's not normal, even if a casino's TOS states that they can modify any of their following rules. There's still a need for them to notify their customers with any change that they've made. That's ethical for a business to let your customers know what you've done based on the policies that you've made and adjusted.

Then when you did something wrong or about to withdraw your money they will tell you that you don't read their terms and conditions, and you start arguing with them until you decide to read the ToS again and you find out that it's different.
If you can prove them that you've got a solid evidence that the TOS have been modified and it is different from the copy that you've read before upon signing up, show it to them so that they can't alter your defense.

Some gambling websites consist of wicked owners that willingly plan to defraud their users using the ToS against them, or is this normal? Have such happened to anyone on this forum before?
Abnormal obviously.

Just check on the Scam Accusations section and you'll see complains, some of them might involve these rules or TOS that have been inaccurately far from the original TOS upon withdrawal.
