Over half of infected show no symptoms. They don't even know they have her inside them. Of those who do get symptoms, maybe a fifth will get sick enough to get tested. Those are the official numbers, so the actual number of infected is likely to be ten times as high.
From that group, maybe a fifth will get sick enough to need treatment. And of those, maybe a fifth die. So that gives us a 0.4% death rate overall. Let's assume I'm wildly off and call it 4%. Even then not bad enough to shut down the entire global economy, much less implement the kind of draconian measures that some here have personally experienced.
Is anything missing? Is the current state of the world anything other than an authoritarian power grab?
just curious. do you or anyone you know work in medical. my wife and i did (not that that means we are super informed but we also know enough to not believe all the ridiculous crap circulating that the uneducated believe. friends of ours in medical are scared. i mean scared. for themselves somewhat but mainly for their familys that they go home to and may possibly infect. and doctors and nurses do not scare easy (IMO at least the ones we know.. they will wade right into the thick of it. because thats what they do). |

Install the bitcoin wallet on your phone, remove the sim card, disable bluetooth wifi nfc, cancel all external connections and you already have your "military grade"  wallet would you trust a soft switch for the radios? hardware switch or disassemble the phone and remove the antennas. or if youre really good disable the comm chips if its doable. disconnect the power pins and such. BTW a phone without a sim card can still make emergency calls (911 etc) its mandated. at least in the usa. so removing the card does nothing really. |

good point as anything with access to other machines on the network can sniff packets and otherwise wreak damage to machines on it. i have several access points for the various stuff.. one for ip cams systems, one for stuff like TVs, one for google/alexa stuff, one for other IoT (washer/dryer etc), one for guests, and one for my wireless computers and such. none of the items on those access points can see the others. but stuff on the same AP can (usually) see each other as they usually need to. EDIT: forgot to mention the obvious takeaway.. plus a separate AP for the rig you use the wallet on. |

In the past, I haven't really been bothered by geotracking on my phone, but I'm starting to rethink my attitude. It isn't just Google an Facebook. but a load of other organisations seem to be getting in on the idea. I've got some old roofing lead, and I'm thinking of lining a tin box with it, and using it to isolate my phone, especially when I am travelling.
Does any one else have similar concerns?

If you're referring to embedded NSFW images, then that's not a problem since they are already banned here. Only links to NSFW content is allowed. 10. No embedded NSFW images anywhere. NSFW content must be marked accordingly.

If the images benefit and compliment the thread I don't see why they would need to be hidden. I would like to see them without having to click on 4-5 buttons while reading the thread.
A better suggestion would be not to use too large images or too many. And even better then that would be to make it impossible to quote a previously posted image when a user replies to a post. It's so unnecessary.

I'd argue against that. You have to play dumb - sure - to reach Trump's status. But that doesn't make him smart. In fact, it is exactly that. He can only play dumb, and leave open the possibility that he is an underestimated smart guy, but in reality he is just average smart to see his best interest. At least that's what he thinks, I suppose. Btw, the best description imo would be: "morally ruthless", aka "businessman for president". i read somewhere that trumps strategy is to DDOS the truth by putting out so many lies you cant even understand them anymore.. bury the truth in idiocy to hide it. except hes to stupid to think of such a strategy. soooo... his being a straight up moron is the simplistic explanation. i would LOVE to see his school transcripts. an average C- tops. and thats being generous. |
