2161  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Defending] Hector Matias Predilalio, My Friend... on: December 16, 2012, 07:03:22 AM
In a nutshell, I'm glad this thread is made. Now we have somewhat a confirmation that we got the scammer's identity all right.
BCB and co - keep the good work up!

Indeed, good job guys. He must be getting nervous.
2162  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: December 15, 2012, 12:30:06 PM
I gave Hal a VIP tag even though he didn't donate because he is nearly as much of a Bitcoin legend as Satoshi IMO. He received the first-ever Bitcoin transaction, and he's been contributing to Bitcoin since before 0.1 was released.
I have a feeling I'm going to sound stupid for saying this, but who is Hal again?  What is his forum nick?

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

This is Hal. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2436

You only need one post to send pm's.
2164  Other / Off-topic / Re: Something Awful goons orpanize to defame and propagandize against Bitcoin here on: December 14, 2012, 11:38:12 AM
I wouldn't worry too much about goons, the only thing they're a danger to are bags of cheetos and poorly constructed chairs.

There might be some extremists but to judge all of them because of outliers would be silly.
2165  Other / Meta / Re: Since none of you seem to have noticed... on: December 14, 2012, 04:52:51 AM
I thought the threads going to German Off-topic was funny.  I'm disappointed to learn that it wasn't intentional.

Twelve threads moved to the German section, then moved out. But to where? I only found a couple in English Off-topic. Now it's like 'Hunt the Boeing'.

Look harder.

Also, I don't think TheBible is matthew, he spent a lot of time 'investigating' his school. Looking back over the SA bitcoin threads though, he's been posting in them for a year and a half now, with like 300 posts in the current one. That's a lot of time spent on "monopoly money", but everyone values their time differently I guess.

Hey, sorry, my friend no longer wants to sell the watch for BTC as I don't need it for my rent.

Quote
My friends and I are pooling together our goods to invest in BTC, it's that simple.

Quote
Why would I spend 30 days of my life on a forum to scam someone over a watch?  Makes more sense that I would like to convert it's value to BTC so I can make a trip to Cali and organize this concert I live for.

Lies, lies and more lies. Obviously lies are encouraged in Dankland reality.

That's sad.  Sad
2167  Other / Meta / Re: Since none of you seem to have noticed... on: December 13, 2012, 07:59:46 AM
It's pretty easy to move something to one of the foreign ot by accident, they're the same name in the drop down box, just under a different category which will have already scrolled out of view at that point. It's pretty unlikely he's covering for BFL, there's definitely no love lost between them.

2168  Other / Meta / Re: We need more transparence on: December 12, 2012, 05:14:58 PM
There is the function "Report to moderator". We need to make it more transparent. User should be able to:
1) view his reports
2) view the response of moderators
3) be able to refer to this problem in discussion (make link to the report and moderator's responses)

Reports could probably use some work, I don't know if I would actually use something like that for long though, checking reports is already a bit of a chore. Maybe a checkbox with approved/denied and a text box to add a short entry. It would have to be integrated into the report system somehow to make it as painless as possible.

Quote
Also the profile of user should be extended. Moderator decisions on user activity should be tracked in user profile and visible to all,
For example "user used offensive language in topik NNN1", "user violates rule KKK of subform in topic NNN2".

Kinda seems like a violation of privacy, I don't think that's anyone else's business. Main things I can see coming out of that would be more backseat moderating, more "just look at your history you're obviously a troll" type posts, and more drama in general.
It could be useful for mods/staff only though, to see repeat offenders.

2169  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin-Central, first exchange licensed to operate with a bank. This is HUGE on: December 11, 2012, 01:28:15 PM
I don't see what the big deal is, someone was gonna do it eventually, unless you make laws and regulations about no regulations  Wink. Nothing about bitcoin is changing, just more options for people to handle their money.

2170  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: RustyRyan on: December 07, 2012, 07:47:44 PM
Tagged now, and no, I have no information on him, sorry.
2171  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: RustyRyan on: December 07, 2012, 10:01:19 AM
Forgot all about that guy. Is that the one that had the 8 week term deposots then disappeared right as it was up?
How has this guy not gotten a tag?

I'd imagine the people who fell for such an obvious ponzi right after Pirate were too embarassed to ask for one. It's a throwaway account anyway, largely symbolic at this point, he doesn't post here. I'll take care of it.
2172  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER: caradenada on: December 05, 2012, 01:05:49 PM
Cointell do you have anything to prove there was a chargeback? You said the merchant complained, did you get anything from them? I've never used Entropay so I don't know what you can do as far as that goes.

Lets try to think before write: who made the acussation? Cointell, so the common sense says he have to prove what he said, thing that untill now he didnt do. If he shows me a proof that the chargeback existed, ill contact entropay inmmediatly about it...

If it were me I'd contact them anyway just to see what's going on as soon as I got a customer complaint, not demand proof. You know, good customer service and all that. It's also an easy way to prove the allegations are false, and save yourself a lot of grief when things like this pop up. Just common sense.
2173  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I got banned for Trolling? (merged with dupe thread) on: December 05, 2012, 09:10:42 AM
Lucky for me this isn't your property or I would be banned. Starting to understand how that whole property right's concept works now?  In this case your definition of trolling is irrelevant.

Right, seems someones epeen is to big, just because you have a higher post count, doesn't mean everyone elses 'opinion' is irrelevant. All I stated was I don't feel trolling should be bannable.

This website and its domain is the United States government property, if you don't think they can, and will seize this website at will, you're mistaken. Hows that whole property right's concept work for you? Bitcoin.org is registered with the ICANN, which is government property, which also owns everything on American soil.

Half the things you see here is about sticking it to the government, we have a better currency, hushing users up is against everything we're here for.

(And yeah, I realize the domain is registered in Canada, and probably hosting too, but SMF forums are in Nevada, in American government territory)

Don't bother replying here, I wont be back on this thread. I stated my 'opinion' and you trolled me about it, good job.

If you would bother to read his post instead of jumping straight to some idiotic conclusions about post counts and epeens, you'd realize that he's saying fralack's opinion on trolling is irrelevant because he isn't the owner of the forums, therefore has no rights when it comes to deciding who is a troll and who isn't, and who should be banned for it. You have a pretty poor definition of trolling as well.

I can see why you don't want to come back to this thread though (good job on that iceburn by the way, you totally got the last word on that guy Roll Eyes), it must be hard to actually discuss things when you can't read. I don't even know where to start with the travesty that's the rest of your post.
2174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I got banned for Trolling? (merged with dupe thread) on: December 05, 2012, 06:00:03 AM
Comeon Guys no need to get Upset over nothing haha i made this thread to get me unbanned but now it seem to be a battle royal of Rights!

Not a BFL STAFF

Nobody's upset, just correcting farlack's misunderstanding of what the right to free speech actually means.

Farlack, as D&T stated, it isn't about trespassing, it's about personal and property rights. Your right to free speech doesn't give you the right to intrude on the rights of others. If this were your forum you absolutely would have the right to say D&T is a troll and ban him. Or just ban him because you think he's ugly and smells bad. That would be your choice to make. A poor one, but yours nevertheless.

Dank's time will probably come. He mostly sticks to his own threads at least.
2175  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I got banned for Trolling? (merged with dupe thread) on: December 05, 2012, 02:44:43 AM
Banning people isn't violating free speech, don't be dense. I kicked some hunters off my property a couple weeks ago and told them not to return, is that violating their free speech?
2176  Other / Off-topic / Re: So, I cut the tip of my finger off on a razor. (Moderately Disturbing picture) on: December 02, 2012, 05:41:02 PM
buddy of mine does flooring.. I see him on a regular basis and his hands are always beat to total shit.. Why not wear some damn gloves? Smiley

Not a good idea to wear gloves when operating machinery like table saws. Gloves can get caught and pull your entire hand/arm in as opposed to getting nicked or "only" losing a finger.
2177  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The Case against Bitcoin OZ on: December 02, 2012, 10:16:24 AM
Evidence of what?

I dont owe you a damn thing. In fact I owe nothing to anybody nor have I stolen any bitcoins which is kinda the point of a scammer accusation.

Evidence of an convicted murder which did not care to stab seven people because a dog barked loudly next door.

I would certainly not trust a person like that.

The person didnt get convicted of murder because they have mental health issues. They were also a juvenile at the time.

Did you ever do something decades ago you're not proud of ?

http://www.animalnoises.com.au/animal-noises-articles/1992/11/28/unstable-killer-jailed/
"David Albain Hollis, 20, allegedly roamed around Meadowbank in August last year, making animal noises as he stabbed people. According to medical evidence, his mind was abnormal."

FWIW. Yes, I did things in my life I was not proud of. I've even lied about my age, as you appear to have just done. And yes, my past follows me, as you yourself have attempted to shove down my throat.

But I wish to make a statement, sir. In my past, I stood up for what I believed in. I said what I felt was right. Okay, maybe I was wrong. I grew up a little and I can admit that now. But if now, 10-15 years after the fact, I have to put up with anonymous tormail garbage saying things like 'usagi also used the name renli in the past therefore he is a scammer', then I am willing to live with that because I had good intentions and I didn't actually wrong anyone. And hey, the truth is, I paid my dues in the martial arts community. When someone puts in the time, be it piano playing, martial arts, chess, an olympic sport, whatever -- I believe one should "respect the uniform if not the man". So why don't you just let it be?

It's a sad comment that some people are so mentally deranged they would take something like the tormail letter or whatever, and try to use it as evidence in a smear campaign against me. Or something like that catchy song you keep posting. But that is life. I accept my past. Do you accept your past?

Tell you what. If you apologize to me about what you have said, if you admit that you were just accusing me of a crime, that you had no evidence, etc. then I will forgive you. Immediately.

fwiw I was 18 in 1992. Should I post my birth certificate to prove it ?

I don't really care, I just want an apology and I want the smear campaign to stop. If you admit that you don't actually have any evidence that (for example):

a) CPA is/was ever insolvent *(do you have the financial records?),
b) I have created preferential shares of CPA / I have scammed shareholders of CPA or BMF by selling a single *(do you have proof that BMF or CPA had clear ownership that single, or do you have material evidence disputing the statement it was personally owned?)
c) any other instance such as where you called the existance of the CPA liquidity loans into question

If you can just give me an apology for what you said and then stop, I won't have any complaint here, I will forgive you, and will not pursue this matter any further in any regard. I really do not want to be in this thread right now so let's just close it okay?

You must be getting pretty desperate to resort to blackmail. Someone getting a little too close?
2178  Other / Meta / Re: I am curious, if you were to do this? on: December 02, 2012, 08:33:18 AM
If I were to now go delete enough posts so I drop below 500.
Would I immediately lose my rank of being hero member?
So If I deleted enough posts would I drop to being a newbie again?

I wouldn't think so, but does anyone know for sure?

Yes, you would automaticly lose your ranking if you, or a mod, were to delete enough of your posts.

hehe  Roll Eyes

So when a hero member sees free BTC only offered to newbies, they better delete 99% of there posts  Tongue
And hey after that they get free awesome BTC, nothing can go wrong with that?   Cheesy

I can think of a couple people I'd give free btc to if they'd delete their posts Wink.
2179  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dank Dream 2012 on: November 30, 2012, 06:59:37 PM
So is this a donation or a loan? You say donation, but it's in the lending section. I've seen you call deposits in dank bank donations before so I'm just wondering. Do you just want people to give you money to do with as you please, or is it a loan based on the condition that the concert actually physically proceeds as planned?

What happens in the event the concert does not happen as planned, and the world doesn't end? I hope you don't plan to twist your words after the fact like you did with your tsunami prediction and screw people out of their money. Most people actually earn what they have.
2180  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Usagi: falsifying NAVs, manipulating share prices and misleading investors. on: November 29, 2012, 06:54:40 PM
So here's where you either shit or get off the pot.  Do you want to try to get to the bottom of these issues in a clear way?  I'm open to other ways of doing so in an organised, logical manner - where mods can clearly see what it is that is being disputed (without it being buried in pages of long generalised posts by both of us and many others)?    Do realise that on the Nyan one I don't think you even realise what incident I'm referring to yet - I've kept my powder pretty dry on that one.

I don't think you can afford to try an approach where you have to deal with clear unambiguous statements minus rhetoric - as the truth just isn't on your side.  But feel free to prove me wrong.

As I've said before, you should make a new post with a clear explanation of what your precise claim is, and containing whatever evidence it is you have. Until then, the onus is not on me to defend or show anything. The onus is on you to explain yourself otherwise it appears as if you are just crying wolf.

So in other words, just gonna keep doing what you've been doing?
