well - this morning I'm giving up on the Pi Rasberry - it's ok but not great

I've been running 20 gridseeds off it now for about two weeks and it slows down to about 1/3 of it's start up hashing rate after about 12 hours and that costs me money and that's the only reason I do this.

I'm setting up an ubuntu box on a real MOB that'll bott off USB stick this morning and will run cgminer - I've run cgminer on the rasberry in addition to cpu miner but it does not like having the api activated with 20 gridseeds running - I'm afraid it's just too much activity for the little thing.

Thanks for the help everyone, especially wolfey, you guys are awesome.

Here's where's I'm at now:  I can log in through SSH, start cgminer but when I plug in the first GSD it doesn't seem to recognize it as it's not hashing or getting any accepted shares after 30 or so mins. Green LED comes on when I plug in the USB, fan is on, red led lights up occasionally. Below is a screenshot from cgminer, any help would be appreciated.

type "./cgminer -n"

to see if it's detecting any usb devices - it appears as though your system is not detecting any usb devices - they're plugged into the hub right? and the hub is plugged into your computer right?

has anyone gotten the api working with cgminer on rasberry?

TIA!

How exactly do you want to use it? I have one instance talking to a monitoring application on another computer, another instance is feeding into Scripta web page. API works just like it would on any other cgminer.

can I see your command line (absent your stratum and worker names of course Smiley )
2185  Bitcoin / Mining support / qr code in mpos mobile on: March 27, 2014, 08:51:03 PM
I'm pasting the qrcode data into mpos mobile qr fiel but it's still asking me for complete the rest of the fields...

what am I doing wrong?

With 10 seeds the raspi runs for days without issues, However when running 20 seeds it will crash around 12 hours.
Anyone have the fix or advice for this?
Running whezzy/scripta/cgminer.

Cgminer seems to use way to many threads/resources for the PI.  CPUminer will run 20-40 on a pi easy.  I've migrated to linux boxes with extra USB host controllers and stuck the Pi's in a drawer.

cgminer on my Pi stopped working after about 6 hours.

mine is  locked up now and I'll reboot it when I get home after I get home and try applying the slub_debug=FP  and see how it goes

how do I?

set these options:

--gridseed-options=baud=115200,freq=850

in a cgminer config file?

thanks

"gridseed-options" : "baud=115200,freq=850",

(the comma at the end is not needed if it is the last option)

I'm running 20 gridseeds - no mods - 850 MHZ, rasberry pi and running cpuminer

I have a 24 port hub and the only time I've had a problem is when I tired to compile cgminer for myself - I'm running the compiled one listed here in this thread right now.

I was happy with cpuminer but there's no api and I want to monitor them and my rig from one program

I'm ready to order another 10 gridseeds and I'm ready to buy today - want to buy from someone in the U.S. - who has got the best price?

thanks

This one compiles and works fine for me. Stable for 24h now.
https://github.com/girnyau/cgminer-gc3355

./configure --enable-scrypt --enable-gridseed
make
sudo ./cgminer -n

I compiled for my RPi, but after running a while, I get paging error.  I tried increasing the swapfile size from 100MB to 256MB, I still get paging error.

I have compiled for both dtbartle version and girnyau version, but get paging error after running sometime.

I am testing with 1 Gold GS.

Anyone else here have a solution?

On Win, no issue, very stable, but not on RPi.  I am using Wheezy image.

I compiled from this source code and its locked my res hurry up in about 30 seconds
2194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: March 27, 2014, 10:51:32 AM
Quick question: Why does the frequency have to be changed in multiples of 50MHz? Or can it be changed by any amount?

the source code you use to compile only has those options set in it.

I think wolfey has - look back in this thread where he has a link to another thread where he shows that kind of mod

2197  Bitcoin / Mining support / api string question on: March 27, 2014, 09:30:52 AM
so - I see most of the pools offer an api string - with qr code.

so I scanned the qr code into my phone this morning from a pool I use and then pasted it into the browser and low and behold - nothing...nada

what's it supposed to do?

I really wish they'd get cgminer running for the gridseeds - even though cpuminer works great it can't be monitored like cgminer with it's api.

It seems they're based in The Netherlands. I'll go down there and trash the place, buy us some time  Smiley.

good idea - take a sledge hammer to the place....

or as Al Pacino said in "Scent of  Woman" - I'd take a flame thrower to this place!

Price of emc2 will stabilize at a higher level when some sort anti-ASIC measures are taken.
I think it's about time.
250 MH/s scrypt miners for 15k euro ship Q2 2014. Four of these will match the entire Net hash of emc2.

really? 250 MH/s - who is making these? The only thing I head that was in that speed range was the Titan at 100 MH/s
