2181  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Usagi: falsifying NAVs, manipulating share prices and misleading investors. on: November 29, 2012, 03:49:12 PM
Are you going to issue a final statement for this thread...

No.

Edit:  Quoting this before you delete it, it illustrates the point I was trying to make very well. Thanks.

I don't usually waste my time with people who have very little to say other than to call others trolls, stupid fucks, ignorant, dismiss well thought out posts with oh so witty one liners, whatever else you've been doing.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=127096.0

You are a joke and you should be removed as a moderator of these forums.

I don't usually waste my time with people who have very little to say other than to call others trolls, stupid fucks, ignorant, dismiss well thought out posts with oh so witty one liners, whatever else you've been doing. If you want to throw temper tantrums and act like a child that's fine, but don't expect adults to do you any favors by wasting their time wading through it to actually get to the facts of the matter. The threads where I've made decisions are usually much more readable. I don't know why you always post that way, but I do have better things to do with my time than read that kind of nonsense.

This isn't a job, I have no "duties and obligations". I don't owe you a thing, and if you want others to spend their free time actually reading threads like these maybe you might want to tone down on the histrionics, ad hom attacks, and stop acting like a petulant child making demands of others. Or not, up to you.

You are a hypocritical moderator, indeed. You claim your time is precious to deal with 'people who have very little to say other than to call others trolls, stupid fucks, ignorant, dismiss well thought out posts with oh so witty one liners', but you are here, indirectly supporting the 'people who have very little to say other than to call others trolls, stupid fucks, ignorant, dismiss well thought out posts with oh so witty one liners'.

Yes, you have duties and obligations as moderator, otherwise you would be an ordinary user.

Shame on you!

Why yes, I do have opinions, thank you. I am a person after all.

It is a little funny though, the last person to make claims that the moderators shouldn't post their opinions was Imsaguy, who was defending Pirateat40. About a month before Pirate defaulted.  Wink

If your only argument is to attack the person behind the opinion you're doing it wrong. That's the same problem Usagi has.

Holding him to that would kinda feel like taking advantage of someone with downs syndrome.
2184  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Usagi: falsifying NAVs, manipulating share prices and misleading investors. on: November 29, 2012, 03:03:37 PM

I just said I can't do that, only admins can. I'm not an admin.

I'm not theymos, but no.

So, what is your goal here? Why did you post that? What you want to prove?

He's said several times (incorrectly) that mods can see/restore his deleted posts. I don't want people to think I can when I can't, or that I'm choosing not to for whatever reason.

Then you're negligent; you are on record issuing decisions that someone will or will not get a scammer tag where your sole concern is that there is no evidence of a victim or any financial damage. Yet here is a case where it is quite clear there is no financial damage and no victim, and you flatly refuse to issue a statement.

Maybe it is not your "job" to review the scam accusation forum, but you are certainly biased to the degree where the only logical conclusion is that you don't want to issue a statement because you know I'm not guilty and don't deserve a scammer tag, but you would rather see me burn. See, everyone knows you think I am a "scummy fuck" because of your out of place troll on the kongzi.ca thread. It is obvious that if you had any proof I was a scammer you would deliciously enjoy giving me the tag. Because you think I am a scummy fuck. So I conclude you are abusing your power as a moderator. That's not right.

(...)

So, what are you going to do? Are you going to recover the deleted posts or not?

I just said I can't do that, only admins can. I'm not an admin.

No, I'm not asking Theymos to do that. I am asking theymos to make a statement that it is not okay to viciously defame someone on these forums without evidence, then give deeplink, eskimobob, deprived and puppet scammer tags and a 3 week ban for what they did to me, and close this stinking shitball thread once and for all.

I'm not theymos, but no.
2186  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Usagi: falsifying NAVs, manipulating share prices and misleading investors. on: November 29, 2012, 01:01:19 PM

Sorry you feel it implies wrongdoing, it doesn't, but I can understand why you might think that. No I don't see any reason to put the posts back (if that is even possible) although as before I will reiterate a mod is free to release any of the information in any deleted post.

Mods can't see or restore deleted posts, only admins, so basically you are asking theymos to go through, read your entire post history and deleted posts, cherry pick what may or may not be relevant, then restore it? That sure sounds reasonable.
2187  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Should Giga be tagged as a scammer? on: November 24, 2012, 11:34:19 PM

* Free to reveal their own personal details and then request the personal data of others while not being prosecuted for it in the pseudonymous community.
As evidenced by Theymos' ruling not to give Giga a scammer tag.

This is atually a major problem, people are too dependent on scammer tags and consider it  "prosecution".
2188  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank soul guarantee - 1.2%-2.0% weekly - New music Nov. 9th on: November 24, 2012, 07:19:24 PM

2189  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Should Giga be tagged as a scammer? on: November 24, 2012, 05:42:20 PM
I do understand the arguments about not giving the scammer tag because of being under legal pressure, however I think some are viewing the scammer tag the wrong way. The scammer tag is not "You need to do this even though it may or may not be illegal". It's not about about dealing justice, or punishing people, or forcing people to do anything. The scammer tag is "He made x agreement, he can't or won't keep it". It's a warning about those who make promises they can't keep, and there's a lot of those around here.

IMO a scammer tag pretty clearly fits the situation, on the other hand he's a longstanding member (year and a half), has fairly good rep, and this is his first and only real incident. Have there been other incidents? Does he have any other investments?

^ That guy got hurt... Cheesy
I think "broken coccyx" is probably the most common spinal injury... especially among 16-30 year olds.

Reminds me of this youtube video I saw a while back. Two kids doing a wrestling move off a roof into a table. Not a gif but the audio makes up for it.

If, as you say, the mods have no time or interest in looking at this, shouldn't they apply for help or step back?

We have, theymos even posted a thread about it once. A couple people got all gung ho about it, but it didn't go anywhere. Turns out people don't want to spend their free time doing that. Go figure  Wink.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=90953.0

Most of us would be more than happy to have nothing at all to do with scammer tags. It's essentially a free service provided by the forum to try to help and pretty much the only thing gotten in return is complaining, trolling, accusations (no matter which way the decision goes), drama, etc. Someone gets the tag, well clearly it's because he ripped off staff. Someone doesn't get the tag, well clearly it's because staff is in on it. I do try and weigh in on high profile stuff, but that's about it. Too much hassle and grief to do anything more.
2192  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: EskimoBob - Lied about owning YARR on: November 22, 2012, 07:26:04 AM
I did not realize someone could get a scammer tag even if they attempted to scam someone else.  I always thought the scam had to be committed and someone lost bitcoins or some other valuable resource.

No, you're right, scammer tags aren't given if no scam is committed. If his allegations are true, only thing Usagi lost is time, and that isn't worth a scammer tag.

It's also not likely anyone will receive a scammer tag for not returning the double payments Nefario made. If only because doing so would require trusting Nefario and his data, and he's already shown himself untrustworthy.

It removes all their posts and bans them, used for spammers.

Which shows posts being removed from a long lasting thread where the creator of it just got the scammer tag and then one of his posts and a bunch of posts of others were deleted from it in rapid succession. I am wondering if this was an action of a moderator or of the users themselves. I have been noticing posts quoting people up for scammer tags have disappeared before and because there is no trace of the deleted posts it's hard to figure out completely.

I went to read the last few pages of that thread when the Scammer accusation thread was made to see if there was anything there, and cleaned up some of the troll/ot posts at the same time cause I figured others would be doing the same thing. There was one referring to another users lady parts, a couple AAA++ WOULD INVEST AGAIN LOL, and Patrick responded to one of them with a random comment. Useless stuff.
2196  Other / Archival / Re: Bitinstant issue, solved in less than a day thank you Yankee. on: November 16, 2012, 04:14:36 PM
Hello, first post here, I had an issue similar to OP.  I sent USD from my Dwolla balance to Mt. Gox via Bitinstant.  The money has already left my Dwolla account.  It has been over 36 hours, and I still haven't received a confirmation email from BitInstant, and my money has not appeared in my Mt. Gox account.

Unfortunately, I did not record the transaction number on BitInstant, as the last time I used this service to send money I did not have any problems.  I can verify the Dwolla transaction and provide the Mt Gox address I sent the money to as well though.  Should I PM Yankee?

Yeah just send him a pm, you're able to now. He's always been quick about fixing problems.

So he's stopped responding and the payments have stopped, but he's still logging on? That's a shame, I wouldn't post this otherwise.

2198  Other / Meta / Re: Why does not the New OP title propagate through on all posts in my threads on: November 16, 2012, 02:34:28 PM
I see other threads that updates their respective titles and then it propates through all titles in that thread.
How do they do?
Title changes will only affect new posts. Already existing posts won't have their title changed. Only time I've seen those change is when merging threads (it's an option).

2199  Economy / Securities / Re: kongzi.ca going live -- investment/presales opportunities on: November 16, 2012, 01:52:36 PM
Thanks for confirming. But is it possible that many messages of other people in his thread also got removed? The forum software doesn't allow for normal users to remove other people's posts, am I right?

Nobody can delete other people's posts except mods/admins. I don't know anything about other people's posts being deleted (if they were), only theymos could answer that.

But guess what! I never got a scammer tag because i'm not a scammer.

Well gosh since you brought it up...not getting a scammer tag doesn't mean you aren't a scummy fuck, and anyone dumb enough to give you more money probably deserves to get ripped off.

Can we get that as a warning message over the securities board?  Wink

BadBear, usagi doesn't feel like answering my question obviously, can you share what happened to usagi's post count? I remember it was near or over 1000. Has he deleted most of his old messages and how come many messages of other people also seem to be gone from his old scamming threads?

Yeah he deleted most of his older posts. I'm guessing it's not because he's an honest, upstanding person with nothing to hide.

Guess what badbear, if I don't deserve a scammer tag, that means I am not a scammer. umad? I got a language school online and you're tossing your weight around a forum in a thread you really have no business being in.

I have a real textbook, a real computer program, all pretty much done, and now I'm working on a real website. As a mod you would have access to my PMs where I have told my creditors I will be giving them the profits of kongzi.ca until I can pay them back. So not only is your scummy fuck comment ridiculous, it contains an intent to deceive above and beyond what a normal troll would be doing.

You should probably be fired as a mod for what you said here.

I never said you don't deserve one, just that you didn't get one, big difference. For a "teacher" you seem to lack reading comprehension. And if not having a scammer tag is the only criteria you use to judge if someone is trustworthy, then that's just another sign that people shouldn't give you their money, it shows a lack of judgement and critical thinking. You seem to be lacking in many things.

I'm not surprised that you're trying to have me removed from the thread and fired for speaking the truth though, it matches up with your character perfectly.
