221  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 11, 2023, 08:50:54 AM
There was a regret on me before when I was still actively doing gambling everyday to the point that most of my income where being used as my gambling funds, in short, I was an addict. Today, I can control myself and has a complete perspective on gambling. To be honest, I'm quite grateful that I learne gambling because I gained many experiences, friends, life lesson and the achievement I have in my gambling journey. Let's say that I'm a satisfied gambler that just gamble for fun today, my gambling experience I have for years of doing gambling is now a funny story that I can share with my gambling friends.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: With gambling, it's probably easier to quit cold turkey on: December 10, 2023, 06:32:25 PM
Not possible for a gambling addict to quit slowly. If gambling is a problem, the best is to just quit. After he quits, he can start to gamble again after a year. If he sees that he is still gambling in a way he waste money on it, he can quite again. This is how I stopped my gambling addiction.

But if the gambler do not quit and not able to quit, he needs something like rehabilitation program or medical consultant.
It became possible when I did quit slowly. I tried to quit gambling instantly and I experience a withdrawal from it and gamble more as a result. We may all have different experiences but quitting slowly works on me. What I mean of quitting slowly is years of gambling but gaining a progress of having a good decipline until I can control myself of not partaking in any gambling activities if I want to. I can consider myself as an ex-gambling addict because the strategy works on me.

We all have different life status and I think it is better to try and try until you find the best suited way for you to quit gambling.
223  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I see many users talk about trading but does anyone here actually trading? on: December 10, 2023, 05:18:50 PM
I have a knowledge in trading and experience in it that's why I can say that I can confidently make trades but it doesn't mean that I'm earning much. I can earn much more on other things like in my job that's why I don't do trades so often, I'm only doing trades when there's an opportunity like having a massive fundamentals update or buying and selling on the prices that I know I can get a profit.

I sometimes comment on trading threads because I can relate and can contribute relevant knowledge and ideas but it doesn't mean that I can perfectly execute it if I was tasked to do.
224  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning online more preferable than offline? on: December 10, 2023, 04:38:50 PM
i will never prefer any kind of online earning way or trading because none of them will not be sustain in your life,
i always confident with offline work and it's safe to survive in real life, you can take online income as just a part time nothing more.
offline work is very hard work if you judging with online jobs.

But the reality is those who works from home or atleast has a hybrid set-up gains more income than majority low paying physical jobs. Of course there are high paying offline jobs loke having a good profession but remember that people had transitioned to work from home set up and those who still works at home really loves it. There are also traders who are trading for a living lime consistently doing trades everyday, not everyone can do this but the really good ones can given that they have a risk management at their end.

At the end of the day, it really depend on the work you are doing and your income on that job. It is just depending on your perspecitive on what kind of jon would make you stable and earn more.
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No risk no reward on: December 10, 2023, 02:49:29 PM
Everything has a risk even if you are walking outside your house. In investment, every asset or any type of investment has risks, there's no such thing as riskless investment. If there are riskless investment, everyone should had done it. The only thing that you can do about risks is managing it, making it as low as possible for your desired profit. Bitcoin as an asset has it's own risk even it is the most recommended asset in this forum to buy, there are certain risks that not everyone can handle. If you understand the risks of it, the poasibility that you can earn from having bitcoin as an asset is high.
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY PEOPLE ARE NOT TAKING THEIR PRIVACY SERIOUSLY. on: December 09, 2023, 11:40:45 PM
As new crypto users come, it seems that people  doesn't care about one of the characteristic of cryptocurrency which is privacy. They only comes here to earn profits and not care about the privacy they should have by using crypto. It's alarming to see people who use crypto that normalize KYC procedures, as they think it is the way it should be, just like what banks do all over this years. I like privacy and I also like having the convinience along with it.

To be honest, I submitted KYC on some platforms that I used but it doesn't mean that I like it, if there's a chance of finding alternatives or not submitting entirely, I would definitely choose it.

I just don't like the idea of normalizing the KYC stuff, we don't submit KYC years back and today, the major platforms are now requiring KUC.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling All Fiat In Bank For BTC? on: December 09, 2023, 10:47:39 AM
Using all the money you have in your bank and selling most of your physical asset such as your house, car or any necessity you need just to buy bitcoin is a dumb idea which I think extremist do. Always remember that bitcoin is a volatile asset and it can crash anytime, and it is absolute that you won't want to get bankrupt all of a sudden. Learn to allocate funds depending on your priority, you can cut on your entertainment, hobbies or other fund allocations for the sake of investment funds , just don't cut the funds for necessities. I don't like the idea of doing YOLO on a very volatile asset. If you want to buy bitcoin as much as you can, being smart is the best thing to do. Accumulate on lower prices, find other source of income and lower your expenses. There are so much things you can do to accumulate bitcoin, just don't sacrifice the basic necessities you need.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you feeling FOMO like I am? on: December 09, 2023, 10:12:37 AM
This is why I accumulated as much bitcoin as I can last bear market. I don't want to get FOMOed at time like this and regret it when hit with a correction. Right now, I'm satisfied with the bitcoin I currently have but I still want to add more if a deep correction occur. Currently, I'm a calm guy that is just waiting for things to happen, whether it continue goes up or go down, I'm all good.

I've experienced being FOMOed and being too late last bull market and I don't want to experience that kind of regret again even I profited last bull market, the profit margin would be much much better if I buy early when the market is in chaos of dumping. I know most of us knows that we will experience a bull market soon, that's why I took advantage of the bear market to get as much bitcoin as I can.

So lesson learned, if you don't want to get FOMOed, do a research as early as you can and take advantage of opportunities to accumulate.
229  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin tumuntong na sa $41k+! on: December 09, 2023, 06:25:44 AM
Well, di ko rin expected na lilipad ng ganto si bitcoin as early as today, medyo overwhelmed lang siguro ako na currently nasa 44-45ish price range siya which is more than what I expected. Tinigil ko muna DCA ko in BTC and focus ako sa alts ngayon pero once na magka correction yung price ni bitcoin ay bibili ako ng maramihan since I personally think na may last dump pa na mangyayari at yun yung last time na makakabili tayo ng discounted bitcoin before bull run. It's just my speculation guys pero sa ngayon focus muna ako on alts, even if mag tuloy tuloy man tumaas yung bitcoin ay ok na ako sa hodlings ko.
230  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Nakakabahalang balita mga kabayan. on: December 09, 2023, 04:22:25 AM
Pwede maging domino effect ito at madamay yung ibang non-registered exchanges dito sa bansa natin which is yung ibang exchange na nag ooffer ng p2p services like bybit and okx. Alam naman natin na may mga registered exchanges tayo but being honest is mas prefer ko gumamit ng multi national exchanges kesa local exchange natin given na mas gusto ko yung service na inooffer nila at pamilyar na din ako sa interface nila.

If there's a will, there's a way.

231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Count down to Bitcoin halving. on: December 08, 2023, 05:30:32 PM
I've seen so many bitcoin halving countdown on different sites and it shows that they have a different time on every each of them. I guess that they are all estimates of the bitcoin halving. I'm personally not much exited about the halving to be honest as I experienced it a few times already, the thing that makes me exited is the possibility that bitcoin price can drop after the bitcoin halving. I know that it would be the last chance to accumulate bitcoin as much as I can on it's lowest price possible before bull run, so yeah, I'm anticipating a price dump after halving and I'm currently preparing my moon bags to be filled.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos after the shutdowns of mixers on: December 08, 2023, 04:28:06 PM
Numerous bad news and developments unfolded this past week, mainly impacting privacy and decentralization. The recent crackdown by United States authorities on well known mixers has serious implications for users and even businesses or projects. Mixers were originally designed to keep users anonymity, and the current situation appears to be so harming for both sides and a slap for bitcoin users as well.

The worse news, is mixers will no longer be allowed in Bitcointalk for any kind of promotions or even discussions. Along with the risk of getting banned because of that means ; Mixers are dead here in BTT.

Now, you may be wondering about the connection between mixers related issues and casinos. The thing lies in casinos capability to facilitate untraceable transactions, enabling scenarios like depositing and withdrawing without a trace, potentially leading to money laundering.

The important question here: how will casinos respond to this new landscape, and what measures will they take and implement to face the challenges posed by recent developments? Probably many users will join casinos for an alternative of mixer.
We know that casinos are being treated as a mixer by other people and it's been that way since then. Casinos try to strengthen their casino by doing some anti money laundering tactics like wager rules and implementing strict KYC to gamblers. Maybe we will see people who will still try to use casino with the purpose of mixing coins and hoping they can successfully wash it. Casinos who has loose rules on money laundering is I think the one who will get customers who will basically want to wash their cryptos.

It's just sad that mixers are being taken down one by one, casino would need to strengthen their rules for them to show people that they are not an alternative of mixers.
233  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: December 08, 2023, 03:31:35 PM
for  sure that there will be other groups that may cooperate and coordinate to your team but Casino houses? I'm afraid that they will ever have any  interest in doing such because Addiction is their target, addiction is their weapon, addiction is what made them rich and will make them more richer.

I did not say that to attach casinos but I am telling what for me  is real , because each gambling addict is their milking cow and who's farmer that will let their cow's gone?

Yeah that's the reason we can't expect to much on them especially on having a partnership on some certain group that tackle up gambling addiction and help those people affected. They create this business for them to earn a profit and not for doing any charity work for any organization or certain individual. So its really up for the person or people around him on how they can aid up this addiction since this is really a serious matter for a person.

But I guess there are separate groups can help people who's suffering gambling addiction so maybe the person affect could present theirself to seek for help and get aid also for people in this forum maybe they could try the service offered on the site mention then see if there's changes happened of we can get a help from these people regarding on what we are or those gamblng addict  facing.
It is a personal funded project and I think it will be hard for them to stay for long even if they are keeping their cost low. According to their website, their primary income is to sell backlinks to their customers which is I think a result a having partnerships with casinos and other organization. The intention of this casino is good but it would be lucky for them if a big casino intends to make a partnership with them which still haven't realized yet.

If this is primary a business, I don't think that this will make the owner rich but if this is somehow a charity that primary wants to help gamblers to quit or rehabilitate them, I think they would last long if they somehow get support from their target clients.
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling? on: December 08, 2023, 07:40:01 AM
If you work as a staff member in a physical casino as a dealer or in a sports bookie, I know that there are subtle ways you can use to encourage responsible gambling that will not go against the terms and conditions for staff.

For example, suppose you encounter a gambler who has wagered $200 at the table and is currently winning $6k. Would you express to them, "Hey, you're up $6k, and you initially entered this table with $200. Walk away, Take your winnings, go!" or will you say, "It is very admirable to know when to stop"?

What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling?
Casinos have their own set of rules and I think majority of the casino wouldn't like to have a staff that is acting like this. If you are the owner of the casino, would you like to have a staff that is attempting to make the a winning gambler run away? Even if the staff don't go against the rules, I'm pretty sure that if the owner noticed his/her action, the staff would face consequences or worst losing the job.

I'm sure that staffs knows what's the nature of their work is. They don't work their to be a savior of winning/losing gamblers, they are all their to get what they want which is money.

I also think casino staffs who receives tips like dealers from winning players wouldn't want winning players to leave the casino, the more they win is the more tips dealer can make from the player.
235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 08, 2023, 07:01:20 AM
Gambling, as an activity does have its fair share in the behavioral change of an individual. That’s if you allow it to have such an effect.
I think It’s only human nature to be happy when the good times comes rolling and quite sad and annoyed when it’s not so rosy anymore. That’s fine and expected. What isn’t expected or fine is taking out your annoyance on someone else(your family). This happens when you allow your emotions overwhelm you. We’re human and have/feel emotions whether you like it or not. It’s left for us to decide how best to show/channel such emotions.

You(OP) should get some help. You said it yourself that you’re addicted. If you want to keep your family happy and together, get some help that would help you quit your addiction.
I also think that it is normal, I believe that everything you are doing has an effect to you especially if it is something that you are really into it. There are people who tend to have a fluctuation in their emotion when they are currently doing gambling, these kind of people are the one I think can possibly have a massive behavioral changes after they had done gambling. The behavioral changes would depend on the capacity of the gambler but one thing is for sure, you giving a hard time to the people around you just because of the gambling vices you have is definitely not OK.

The behavioral changes differs to gamblers, there are some who show low self-esteem, aggressiveness, generous, joyful, it depends on the gambler and the result of the gambling session that they have. The only thing that makes it bad is when it can negatively affect us or others when things go bad.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: help me not to leave btc on: December 07, 2023, 08:55:02 PM
I'm a 19-year-old boy living in South Korea and now btt, doge, shiba inu, etc.. have skyrocketed in just a few hours on our country exchange 'upbit'. A little fomo is coming. I can't believe it's gone up more than a months I've invested in bitcoin. I personally don't want to invest in other coins, as I think bitcoin is superior.
What kind of mindset should I have to stay in Bitcoin? And I think Bitcoin is about to hit the highest price ever, so how should I plan my dca strategy?
Stop using your emotion because it can ruin your plan. Don't let FOMO get into you, majority of the people who get FOMOed doesn't end well. If you know that you have a good plan, try checking it back and have a confidence on the plan that you yourself had built. Focus, everything is just a distractions. I myself had been caught on bad situations many times because I failed to execute my plans because of damn emotions, being fomoed by pumps and hype, I ended up losing money and possible profits if I execute my plan well.

Remember mindset you have when the first time that you want to buy bitcoin.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon said he would close Bitcoin down if he was in government on: December 07, 2023, 08:01:35 PM
First, he is not a government staff nor a President of any country.
Second, JP Morgan is a big commercial bank but it is not the only bank globally. It does not have super powerful power to do anything that can harm and shut down Bitcoin.

Jamie Dimon and JP Morgan have ridiculous history against Bitcoin.

JPMorgan's Dimon says bitcoin 'is a fraud'
JPMorgan to give all wealth clients access to crypto funds.

From 2017 to 2021, JP Morgan changed a lot and what changes will they do in next years?

This one is more interesting. Dimon’s many bitcoin moments of regret, in one chart.
This shows how his comments and opinions don't really affects the market even if he/his company is well known in the finance industry. Those who believe him would probably has a regret in not buying some bitcoin.

With this chart, the market or his followers will just invalidate his opinion about bitcoin. His comments don't make sense at all and didn't even touched the reality.

With all the negativity that Jamie Dimon showed on bitcoin over the years, I wonder if he is doing this with the intent of plummeting the price to accumulate and buy some. We don't know, but he might be a bitcoin whale or some sort or just showing that he is anti-bitcoin just to evade the possible taxes he might face with the government. Just my speculative thoughts.
238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People losing their Bitcoin is not a risk to Bitcoin: on: December 07, 2023, 07:24:15 PM
So I read a thread by a new member who was asking if the information that is being shared here is just theoretical to gaining relevance in the platform or is something that is actually being practiced in real life situation and the first thing that came to my mind is the numerous post about securing ones Bitcoin holding and the fact that some persons might be taking it for granted.

The truth is that people actually loose access to their private keys and will loose their bitcoin In the process and a lost bitcoin isn't even a disadvantage to the network but actually increase the value of bitcoin in circulation and so if you take all the security measures being shared in the platform for granted, you're putting yourself at a serious disadvantage because if you loose your bitcoin due to your carelessness, it's your loss and not that of bitcoin and I doubt their is a means you can use in recovering a lost Bitcoin without your private keys.

The one owning bitcoin is educated enough to learn more about bitcoin. People should stop investing blindly into different assets.
Everyone should know what they are doing and what they are holding. Owning bitcoin comes with the responsibility of holding it securely.
People should know that losing the keys mean losing the coins. If they lose their coins then it's their fault.
Bitcoin's value will only keep increasing as more people keep losing their coins thus reducing the bitcoin circulating supply.
The reality is there are so many people who invested on bitcoin that don't really have any idea what is a non-custodial wallet. We can see people who just want to gain profits on bitcoin that's why they invested in it without any deep idea how to secure their assets, we can typically find them during the bull market where everyone flocks into buying assets and just store it into their favorite exchange until they can sell it for a profit. It is what I observed last bull market where everyone was blinded about the potential profit they can make on bitcoin and they just rush/blind buy it for their reason. Some of them just don't think that their asset is vulnerable or they can lose it.

It's true that it will be solely our fault if we lose our bitcoin, though there are people who are careless enough to not care about it since they don't have any idea how vulnerable they are.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will invest the money to buy the land in Bitcoin. on: December 07, 2023, 06:29:58 PM
I am a government servant, working in regional land office.  At the end of five years of my working life, I have spent part of the salary I received during these five years for family and saved part for future. I have been saving my money in the bank for more than five years for the purpose of saving for the future and purchasing a land. If I were to mention the amount of money I saved in five years, it would be about 11 thousand dollars if converted to US dollars. My plan was to buy a land with this amount of money but whenever looking for land to buy land my idea completely changes because the lands I like will not give me this amount of money. If I can't buy land in a position, I have no desire to buy land in a common place.

Since I have like 11 thousand dollars right now, I want to invest this amount in Bitcoin instead of keeping it in the bank. I know about investing in bitcoins and I know that there are risks involved, I am investing in the potential to grow money but I want to invest in bitcoins with the understanding that my money may go down due to market volatility. I decided to withdraw the money from the bank at the beginning of the new year and plan to invest the money in bitcoins. Now that I can't buy land, I will definitely hold this investment for a long time so that I get good returns at the end of the long term and I can also accumulate some more money through employment.

At the time I planned it I felt I should have planned it earlier.

You are making good decisions at this point, but in my opinion, you should have made this decision much earlier. The price of bitcoin is currently high, so I don't think it's a good idea for you to purchase it at this point when it's over $40k Instead, you would have take this decision when the price was still under $30k Although you've saved money for a good five years, I believe you should wait longer if you can't afford to buy now. I know that some people can still invest and take risks regardless of the price. Because of the current price, I will not encourage anyone to buy bitcoin at this point. however, I will suggest that you should use half of your money to buy land, use the other half to begin your journey into investment.
We have different perspective on where bitcoin price can go, it is speculative if bitcoin can go down to 30k again assuming that it is before the bull market. I myself believe that we can go that price point but I think that OP wouldn't want to miss the chance for him to invest in such price given that he is aware and has a knowledge about the risk of investing into cryptocurrency. If bitcoin go up more than 40k, the difference would only be the profit potential that OP can get but overall, I also think it's a good move investing in bitcoin even with the entry price he choose.

Dollar cost averaging would be also good strategy but again OP bought the bitcoin already and it will hardly depend on him if he will follow the advices we posted in his thread.
