221  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 190K in 2024? on: March 24, 2024, 02:57:51 PM
I like prediction models. They give us a feel for what we should be expecting. However for the model to be accurate, it should give us a range and not a particular price. Did this prediction model say the 190k will be achieved by December 2024 or immediately after the halving. It's like that it would be by December but not a week or two after the halving.

I’m interested to know how they come up with 190K prediction because the typical price target using the past crypto cycle of doubling the ATH is just around 140K and this is my basis too instead of using exaggerated price predictions.

Wild price predictions without any supporting details just vague statement are somewhat useless. Price did not even reached 100k for people to have  a conclusion of 190k bet.

It was a model that compared price one year ahead and one year after halving. The price prediction they claimed is for April 2025.
In past, there were slight correction after each halving but price changes are a bit different each time.

$190K is too generous IMO. It's more than double the current ATH.
What about you OP? What price plans do you have?

I plan to sell most of it just below 150K. That would be a humble target in my guess. It would not be wise to sell all of it or stay put all of it when the price falls. There ought to be a fall after the high rise and if I get to sell in a higher price, I might be able to buy twice that coins when they fall.

$190k is not a very high target for bitcoin in this bull cycle. Personally, I am optimistic and believe that bitcoin can reach that number but I don't think it will happen this year. I predict that 2025 will be a boom year for bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market and we will see bitcoin reach its ATH in 2025 instead of later this year.

In addition, I am also optimistic that this bull cycle will last longer than the previous ones because we have many catalysts in this bull run. I consider this a super bullish cycle.

Considering the last bull, we have a large increase in institutional investors and the total liquid coins haven't increased as much. A super bull is not a far dream. 2025 could be it considering it takes some time after the halving for it to show on price.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL Cricket on: March 24, 2024, 01:57:41 PM
The 4th game of the current IPL concludes. Rajasthan Royals wins over Lucknow Super Giants by 20 runs.
Rajasthan winning the toss and batting 1st set a good target of 194, it's the 2nd highest target set till date in this IPL and it was going to be a difficult one for the Lucknow Super Giants to chase. For rajastha, captain Sanju Samson made a not out 82.
Lucknow batting 2nd had their early wickets fall for cheap. The were 3 down at 11. Captain KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran tried to stabilize the score with their own half-centuries But they were not able to save wickets and lost with a good margin.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 24, 2024, 01:50:34 PM
The game went the way Sri Lanka wanted. At the end of 3rd day, Sri Lanka still have a lead of 464 runs while they are just 5 wickets away from win.
Sri Lankan centurion of first inning Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis made an even larger centuries in the 2nd inning propelling the already present lead of Sri Lanka. They made a 500+ lead before being all out which is a rare target for the team batting the final inning in Test match to achieve.
Bangladesh started even poor than the first innings. They lost five of their batsmen at a score of 37. There's no hope for Bangladesh to reach the current target of 464 or bat the remaining whole days. So, unless a miracle, Sri Lanka are already the winners here.
224  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin 190K in 2024? on: March 24, 2024, 01:21:15 PM
A very important event is scheduled to happen this April. Around April 16 or 17. It's bitcoin halving again. i.e. number of bitcoin rewarded for mining a block would be halved. It meas half bitcoin reward for equal task for miner. That would also decrease the liquidity in bitcoin provided by the miners. The miners operate on small margin and many could go on loss if they sold their reward for current price so they won't be willing to sell it unless price moves up. Bitcoin in past have seen a good price boost after the halving. And many prediction models place the future price of bitcoin into 190K.
Is 190K too humble or very generous in your consideration? What's your price plans for selling your holdings?
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So Solana is 20x up but Ethereum is dying, yet for years ppl shill Eth why? on: March 24, 2024, 08:22:57 AM
There are several reasons. Ethereum has pioneer bias. Ethereum is one of the most decentralized coin with it's long POW period. There are more programmers knowledgeable about coding smart contracts for Ethereum. Being older and most frequently used, ethereum has lesser chances of encountering new bugs or loopholes. The fee difference between Ethereum and Solana is not as huge as last year. Similarly there are some pushing factors in Solana like decentralization, there had been issues of network shutting down several times in the past. Yet, the pace at which solana is catching up is fast. But as newer L1 competitors come, they are likely to take more of solana's market than that of Ethereum.
226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto remaining anonymous is good for Bitcoin! on: March 24, 2024, 05:18:47 AM
One another noble thing to remember is if we find the true satoshi, we might not like him as much or at least some people would be unhappy of him/her/it.
Considering how rich and probably powerful he is, might have some form of business or a job and and he might have done something or taken decision that might be controversial or have hurt some. His personal principle and bitcoins theoretical ideology might differ to some extent.
Mortal beings have flaws and it's human nature to exaggerate it. Satoshi is appreciated as god of crypto but when we realize he is just another human with his own flaws, me might be disappointed.
227  Economy / Economics / Re: Ignore Financial accountability to your detriment on: March 24, 2024, 12:18:11 AM
Financial accountability is what makes you and your family safe through hard times. Every person in the earning age should be financially accountable.
A pension fund is the first thing for your financial accountability. If your employer provides you a pension than it's fine otherwise you need to have a pension fund on your own. In some countries social security funds do cover pensions. Another thing you need to have is an heath insurance, the wider the coverage the better. Most even suggest a health insurance but personally I'm not a fan of it. Another financial tool to implement for your kids is child trust fund. Every parents should do it for their child.

228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 23, 2024, 04:01:35 PM
On the 2nd match of the IPL, Punjab Kings chased the target of 175 set by Delhi Capitals. The chase was close at it took them till the last over. Sam Curran singly made 63 for Punjab Kings making him the man of the match. And with this both match played on the IPL this season has ended up as a win for the chasing team.
The third one seems to be a difficult to chase though. Kolkata Knight Riders batting first set a target of 209 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, a first 200+ in this season. Phil Salt and Andre Russell made fifties for KKR. Andre Russel with a strike rate of over 250. A good bowling spell and he'll be the hero for KKR tonight.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Friendly Match is Hard to Predict on: March 23, 2024, 01:14:15 PM
On a friendly match played today Spain lost to Colombia 0-1 in london. This was one of the friendlies the south american and European teams are playing as they prepare for Copa america and Euro Cup. Spain has been on a decline while colombia is a young and fit team. Both of the team were equally impressive on the field creating good attack and attempt to post. Both the keepers saved some close goals. Colombia scored through an impressive goal by Daniel Munez on the 61st over. A counter attack and an good assist turned into a goal through forward flying kick.  Spain would now play another friendly with Brazil while colombia would play one with Romania.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoin hype getting higher on: March 23, 2024, 11:15:46 AM
It's true that people always have interested in memecoin. I heard many strange memecoin names. i avoided those and was launching at corner. But it seems revolution happened in memeocin industry in the start of 2023. In that yeat, a lots of memecoin had come in crypto market and made people millionaire. Pepe, Bonk, Meme and so on. and in 2024 WIF and BOME again have created hype and made people millionaire again. Now memecoins are in demand due to the possibility of higher returns. And it makes people crazy. What's your opinion about this?

Now I have agree that many people interested with meme coin. But for me, I dont interested with any meme coin which dont have any feature or utility.

Many coin which have features and utility, and finally they can not survive.

I too always avoided Meme coins as they had no utility, use case or uniqueness. I might have held dogecoin in the past as a cheap coin to transact but most of the meme coins now are as tokens and are purely skeptical. Even though I ignored them for long, they seem to be coming and coming and getting relatively more success than utility tokens I'm invested on. The latest BOME hype finally broke me. 49% of BOME is held by an address tagged Binance and overall 70%+ of them are held by exchange tagged wallets. I'm not sure if they are the actual holders but the way the coin have been listed to Tier A exchange makes me believe there's something big going on this meme coin.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 23, 2024, 10:41:10 AM
Sri Lanka lost two wickets in the second innings, so if wickets continue to fall, they will never be able to give Bangladesh a target of 400 to 500 runs. Because Bangladesh team is also very strong in terms of bowling, since in this match they did not perform well in keeping the wicket, but Bangladesh team will definitely perform well in the second innings. Especially in this match, due to the absence of Mustafizur Rahman, the bowling line of the Bangladesh team has become weak. That is why the Sri Lankan team is getting the chance to score more runs which is a danger for the Bangladeshi team.
I think Sri Lanka going to make a bad performance on second innings they lose their four wicket before 100 runs. They are current run is only about 68 run and current branded is only 3.09. therefore top order batsman already got out no one makes a at least a good performance today. This boy nahid Rana doing good his bowling he took two big wickets of Sri Lanka. I think this much result will going for a draw.

It's second day and the game is turning into a low scorer and quick one. We might get the results in the 3rd day.
As expected, the bad batting of Bangladesh continued in the second day. None of the players from Bengali side made even a fifty. On being all out, the Bengali team were already trailing 90+ runs. Sri Lanka too had a bad start similar to the 1st inning but the heroes of the first inning, Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis are still on there. Sri Lanka are already around 170 run lead. If they made another 200 with the remaining 6 wickets, they  could have a easy win and 200 is not a big score to aim. The time is not a problem for Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh but holding on wickets is. I believe Sri Lanka has the better chance from here on.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme and Alt Coins investors, how do you treat with your conscience? on: March 23, 2024, 09:56:31 AM
To those that invests on MemeCoins and the disreputable highily weaked volatility AltCoins, how do you treat with your conscience? How peacefully do you get your eyes closed when asleep knowing that they are short term investments that can earn you regreted if you don't sell at the right time which you were opportuned to make profit?

I don't categorize myself as memecoins and the disreputable highly volatile altcoins but I in past have tried them
There's a site called dexscreener that tracks different tokens and their transaction in different dexes. I used to sort tokens by popularity in last 1 hour or 6 hour and see which of them are on the phase of breaking out. I also have a quick look at the token's website to see how dedicated they are for it. A quick look at it's social media and if I find it worth investing, I send just $100 to test it. I sold half of it when it hit x1.5 and all of it when it hit x2. For a period of a week I tested, I was nearly at same cash I started with. It was tiring to look at the price changes and sleeping means I could have doubled my money but ended up losing it all. I found it not worth the effort and hope some dex makes some free bot to initiate buy and sell at trigger point.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC go back to $40K - $30K range before a bigger rally? on: March 23, 2024, 08:36:44 AM
Based on the pattern on the chart, it seems like Bitcoin is going to correct itself but to what extent, no one knows.

We can clearly see that BTC hasn't been able to cross its previous highs after each dip recently which indicates that there is a bearish momentum going on.

So can we expect a major correction or it's going to go up again and reach $80K before halving?

Let's discuss.

Regards
SK

There is always a correction and accumulation before another push. The correction could be slight making current resistance above 62K to the the final one as prices have bounced back from that range for multiple of times now and in worst case scenario, it could go as low as 50K but no further. The price going below 50K would start another bear which is highly unlikely as there is high confidence in the market. People are accumulating at a higher price and a bull reaching 85K+ is on the horizon. There are predictions of bitcoin reaching 140K as well.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest Only In a Coin that Increase in Value in this Bull Run. on: March 23, 2024, 07:46:17 AM
The strategy I go by with is if you are not sure, wait and see. You don't necessarily have to buy a coin in ICO, there are thousand of ICOs and presale each day. Most of these coins don't even make it to the central exchanges. Just keep following good projects and wait for them to get listed on Tier A centralized exchange. When they are supposed to get listed, the price gets hiked and when they finally do, there's a dip good and long enough for you to accumulate in cheap price.
Investing on high marketcap alts can be not exciting but they are less riskier options as they have a good number of actual holders and are less prone to whale movements.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana memecoin is trending on twitter.. on: March 23, 2024, 04:07:19 AM
We all know solana has been doing well these past few months it is no secret. At this point, you should have already
bought some and should be seeing profits already. Well anyway I am just hoping these memecoins, despite the
usual conceptions about memecoins, do not die after their initial hype. To be honest, I have high hopes as
Solana is a reputable and reliable blockchain.
Most Solana dex  currently have high transaction/volume because of people investing in these meme coins. This is also driving the price of Solana up. I can assure you, most of these meme coins will die after the "initial hype". Most of those meme coins are either rug pulled, or get dumped after few hours or days. We have seen this happen with Ethereum, and then Binance smart chain, and now with Solana. This is more like gambling and the dex are now like a casino. If you have invested in some and already made a profit, I would suggest you take the profit and invest in some other better coins.

True. If we just see the charts of trending coins on dex, 90% of them run out of transaction volume in the first week. They are just one pump thing. It's easier to create a token and a website. The more novice looking the website the better it's considered in meme world. Have a 100% fair ICO, Put some liquidity in dex and get profit from selling dev coins. Only a few among the rest 10% actually survives for longer and it would require an exceptional luck to find gems like WIF and BOME.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It’s unlikely that anyone besides you will be happy with your winnings. on: March 23, 2024, 02:14:01 AM
I would like to discuss this topic, the joy of victory. Much has been written about this, but nevertheless it will always be relevant. Many players naively believe that someone other than themselves should be happy about their winnings. I don't think so. Of course, those closest to you who directly or indirectly depend on your money will be happy about your winnings. But neighbors, friends, work colleagues, at best (at best!) will receive the news of your victories with indifference, and at worst, with envy. I know that many friends and acquaintances get depressed when they find out how much you have earned. For them, it will be an unnecessary reminder of their failure. Often friendships end after one person becomes very rich. People lose common topics for communication, common interests disappear. Of course, things are different in sports betting and trading than in business. Here success is less stable and a person can often fall back into poverty more quickly. But it’s still better to hide your victories from others. I've seen many clear examples.

There might be cases of other being happy for your gambling win, yet it's better to hide your victories anyway. Gambling victory is about luck and it won't favor you everytime. Unless you use the gambling win to generate passive income, it won't last long. It's a known fact that people are reckless on spending gambling wins. Moreso if it's others. So, it's better to not talk about it and use it the way you want. Maybe pay loans, buy a real estate or a car. Even the people who are your nearest might not appreciate knowing you are gambling for money. Trading too is not much different but traders are supposed to be making better financial decisions.
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 23, 2024, 01:20:58 AM
In first clash of IPL, CSK are very much in control at the moment. Just 24 runs required in 20 balls and it looks quite an easy job because CSK have 6 wickets in hands. MS Dhoni is no more captain of CSK and a young player Ruturaj Gaikwad has been given the captaincy of CSK. Ruturaj Gaikwad is just 27 years old and has played 19 T20Is for India so far. If he can prove his skills here then Indian team have an option for long term captaincy in T20.
First match and first defeat, royal challengers Bangalore start his IPL journey with first defeat which will be disappointed moments for thier fan because every year thier fan expect from them to win atleast a single trophy because each season they bought quite big names in order to get some significant results but every time thier player disappoint them and Carry on at this season too, start of RCB batting were phenomenal and they properly utilize power play but some of thier played very irresponsible and for that reason they unable to make a solid defendable target more ever they completely focus on thier batting so some haw they have big gap in thier bowling lineup, CSK while batting done magnificent and took a complete grip on match and easily finished the target before last ball and won the match

You should have a good bowling attacks in League cricket especially in India ground because we have seen that 200 + scores are chased many times. CSK always have a very good squad and their bowling and batting both fit than others team. If we compare both teams then Banguluru batting was so strong but the way CSK control the run rate was show the class of M. Dhoni. In IPL less than 200 target is not looking strong target to defend. CSK will be more happy with first win against a very strong team which will more strong players hopes.

It was a comfortable chase by CSK. The game was about which teams score at a faster pace with more sixes. The bowlers had less say on both the innings. Ravindra Jadeja delivered the most economic overs for CSK at 5.25 runs per over. While RCB on desperation of wickets used multiple bowlers.
On a T20 batting 2nd is mostly a benefit. The pitch and weather doesn't change rapidly in short time and when you have wickets in hand, you know the target than it's easier to win. But the toss was won by RCB and it was  their own call to bat first. Anyway, the opening game ended with the home team winning that would have made fans happy.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: March 22, 2024, 04:28:03 PM
IPL 2024's opening game, The traveling team RCB made a defendable score of 173 against Chennai super kings. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, winning the toss, elected to bat first. They had a hiccup losing both Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell on duck but all of other players performed with an overall good run rate. Individually good wickets for Mustafizur Rahman but he was expensive. And Chennai bowlers delivered 10 wides which is something they need to improve.
The game is still on and Chennai have an equal chance of wining it. They know the target, they have a good batting lineup, now all they need is not to give away easy wickets.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 22, 2024, 02:24:38 PM
2 runs out and 1 wicket fell to a spinner. The seamers claimed the rest of the wickets.

It seems like a script of some test in SENA, but it happened in Bangladesh, which is quite a sight. Even if the pitch plays the same or starts deteriorating, the Lankans have their nose ahead in the game and should fancy their chances. After all, Bongs are batting last.

Good action on the first day of first test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Bangladesh winning the toss decided to field and just destroyed the top order batting lineup of Sri Lanka taking 5 wickets at 57 runs. Sri Lanka seemed to be in great trouble but Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis rescued the team with a century each creating a record breaking partnership for 6th wicket. Even though such great work by the two guys, the rest of the team just made 65 off the bat. Sri Lanka were all out at 280 which is not an impressive start. But as the batting of Bangladesh started, it seem like they won't be able to cash on the opportunity as they have already lost their 3 wickets. It's important for Bangladesh to hold onto their wicket at 2nd day as they have all the time.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: brazil sanctioned law that taxes online betting in the country on: March 22, 2024, 01:34:02 AM
That's not a huge cut considering the average tax levied on gambling around the world. Generally, it's casino operators that are subjected to much more tax and a 15% individual tax on win is not huge. And I don't think it's taxed for every win on bet for casino gaming but for overall amount won on a sitting. Because it could be difficult to calculate that and the person might be charged more than it ever gambled. It's not a bid deal to give 15% of the extra money you are walking away in few hours.
Taxing casino would not only increase the revenue of the government but also makes the gambling industry transparent.
