1121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymous teams on: October 31, 2020, 10:02:22 AM
The teams come in front or stay anonymous based on the nature of the project and the field they are going to serve.
Satoshi was determined from start to keep his anonymity but many of the core developers and proponents of bitcoin are know to public. Most of privacy based coins team are also anonymous while some have come forward to advertise and promote it.
But for every service related tokens like Ethereum and others, it's better for the team to come forward and take and share ideas for the development of the project rather than stay behind anonymous curtain.
1122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Even huawei refused to be left out on: October 30, 2020, 05:00:14 PM
I guess it's all about increasing the adoption of the CCP coin in China. But nevertheless, the technological advancement of the party and the mass adoption and use trial would be a good experience for every of the cryptocurrency. They may never outsource the underlying technology but others can watch and find what problems they faced and what solutions they implemented and try to mirror that with any of the options they can find. It's overall a positive move for blockchain technology.
1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why DeFi is high risk investment on: October 30, 2020, 01:26:01 PM
Defi itself is not a high risk investment but scams and ponzi under the cover of Defi are risk.
There is risk of some loopholes or exploit on code in Defi but such issues occurs with every financial projects be it centralized exchange or decentralized one. But if they go through internal and external audit as well encourage white hat hackers to penetrate test it, Defi would be a much more secure option than any centralized finance.
1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Was 2017 the "Golden Year of Crypto"? on: October 29, 2020, 01:25:06 PM
You could call it a golden year for ICO but you can't say the same for crypto. Crypto are still in it's early development phase and they have still a large market to cover. The pump and the subsequent dump destroyed the way projects raised funds and that's for good. As of good cryptocurrency themselves, bitcoin has nearly reached 14K and they'll soon hit their all time high again and this time more sustainably. And again price doesn't make every coin good or bad.
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Toyota IT Division to Launch Own Digital Currency on: October 29, 2020, 11:08:57 AM
Just to be clear, this is Toyota's own digital currency, meaning it's going to for their used only and not for everyone, or to make it more clearer, for Toyota City, Aichi Japan. So there will be no effect on crypto market. But it's good to hear that big companies are moving to blockchain technology and that is the positive impact of it. And I think this is just a pilot test and could be deploy to Toyota worldwide so the only one that will get the full benefit is the company itself.

This signifies that the experts and technicians involved there believes blockchain based crypto are the best form of currency (value vouchers). They are easy and quick and there are no problems like faking currency or any costs involved in printing and reprinting bills. The supply and flow of the currency could also be easily monitored by the central authority and if they have specific address assigned to people, they'd know whom the money is going from whom. That's both fascinating and scary.
1126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 6 DeFi projects to watch in 2020 🎯 on: October 28, 2020, 05:58:46 PM
Though Defi hype may be faded, defi are here to stay. They provide a solution to a great lot of problems concerned with central entity. But with the rise in popularity, they are also becoming a popular target for hackers and exploiters to siphon out and steal coins from the smart contract or users. Defi's should be very sensitive in such maters and test everyway the codes and be sure it doesn't contains any loopholes before releasing it to the platform.
You have listed almost all of the best Defis but other popular ones and hot at the moment are Aave and Sushiswap.
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal might issue its own cryptocurrency soon, says CoinShares exec on: October 28, 2020, 05:30:37 PM
It would make it easier for them to deal with cryptocurrency and maybe evade some taxes. Corporates are attracted towards blockchain based coins as they fear of missing out and losing their market. But not only are they efficient for the corporates, it would also make it lot easier for users and advertisers. More efficiency and more competition would come back as a value to users.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Half bread is better than none on: October 27, 2020, 01:42:17 PM
Truly said. You can hold bitcoin and some altcoins for a long term if you believe they'd be much bullish in the future.
But if you still want to take the risk for a greater reward, don't just jump 100% on a new coin. However promising it may look, diversify your portfolio with different types of coins. Don't put more than 50% on the same coin.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Missed the golden opportunity, now what?? on: October 27, 2020, 11:57:19 AM
Don't miss it again and again. Experts agree that bitcoin could be traded at a lot more price than it is now. Bitcoin was $6629 on April 12, 2020 while it's 13,400 at the moment. It's more than doubled in six months. That was the recent golden opportunity missed. There are many people who bought bitcoin at hundreds and sold at thousand yet missed out on the run to the price of tens of thousand. So, it all about what part you look at. There would be many more such opportunity but you should believe in bitcoin in order to get advantage of it.
1130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another major DeFi attack on: October 26, 2020, 06:46:12 AM
The team is giving out more and more info and I guess it was not from an insider.
They claim it were from an exploit that was done "by manipulating stablecoin prices on Curve Finance, another DeFi protocol that Harvest Finance contracts interact with."
They have pointed out some addresses on twitter who were involved in casing out the coins and have asked help from prominent exchanges to track and prevent coins of those address being converted or withdrawn to other coins.

1131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more important bitcoin or fiat? on: October 26, 2020, 06:05:17 AM
Though we often compare bitcoin to fiat, bitcoin is still not the alternative of fiat. We compare them to show in what sectors is bitcoin superior to fiat but fiat too is superior on some sectors. I don't think bitcoin itself would ever be replace fiat but with other cryptocurrency around, fiat surely would have a difficult day ahead.
Fiat has been here since ancient times while bitcoin is just a decade old. Bitcoin is a promising future while fiat is still the integral part of our society.
1132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Say btc is Not ponzi but its look like ponzi on: October 25, 2020, 01:27:56 AM
For something to be ponzi, it would require new people to keep on joining and increasing their investment on it to make it run. But that has not been the case with Bitcoin. Bitcoins actually have value and you can buy products and services using bitcoin. Bitcoin doesn't goes on increasing in price either. It's price increases or decreases according to market. Bitcoin is limited in supply, with fixed amount of coins minted, they would circulate but no new bitcoin would be added. It makes bitcoin a less of ponzi than fiat currency.
1133  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC can reach $ 20000 after PayPal, Venmo accept payments in BTC, ETH? on: October 24, 2020, 02:46:16 AM
It would have reached $20K without any of those but again payment giants accepting crypto trade would bring in millions of new investors to bitcoin and crypto. And with their limited support, users would be introduced with the best of crypto world and would have a favorable experience. Bitcoin would soon be on it's way for 20K.
1134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple considering moving to UK on: October 24, 2020, 01:37:48 AM
Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple had criticized US for their crypto regulatory laws and perception. And had threaten to move out if they don't change. It's not a long time so I guess they were already looking at alternative to move on. UK is surely a better option as crypto market is flourishing largely on Asia and Europe a London lies somewhat on the middle of everything.
1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paxos will be holding your PayPal's Bitcoin on: October 23, 2020, 02:49:12 PM
This is a good news for both Paypal and Paxos. Increase in business without the conflict of interest. Could even be a good news for Paypal user depending on what commission both of these companies take. Even if it's on a higher side, people would cheerfully use it as it would bring convenience and security to buying of crypto. I was frightened of thinking how Paypal are going to handle crypto, but with Paxos, I believe it would be lot better.
1136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unacceptable attitudes from new project teams on: October 23, 2020, 02:25:00 AM
Escrow is a great choice, but many bounty Managers haven't been able to get it. As only the firmness of a BM is needed, like a BM that threatens to make a SCAM Thread if the payment for the Bounty Hunter is not paid immediately, that's a form of responsibility and firmnes

One of the reason for it is bounty managers themselves are not professional enough. When there are rookie bounty manager running a bounty, they are ready to compromise in most things. And another reason is greed, the once popular bounty manager atriz saw himself fall from fame just because he thought it was good to keep promoting a scam even after he'd realized it is. A professional bounty manager should always escrow the rewards wherever possible and stop promoting anything that's know to be a scam.
1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why didn't PayPal decided to use xrp than Bitcoin? on: October 22, 2020, 03:13:48 PM
They are just starting. Adding them all at once would have technical difficulties and they won't be able to provide a support. Paypal is used by all sorts of people and you know how hard it's to make stupid people understand how crypto works. Even coinbase started with a few coins and now has plenty of them. Similar would be with Paypal, they are just testing how it would turn out and if they find it's profitable, they'll bring in more and more coins.
1138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Momentum Builds for Bitcoin on: October 22, 2020, 01:44:12 PM
This year has been great for bitcoin and every of the metrics points out to bright future for bitcoin.
Decrease in fresh minted coins, institutional investors buying and hoarding of bitcoin, many business accepting bitcoin as a payment, payment processors making crypto trade-able and transferable. Many platforms, dapps and defi locking/freezing bitcoin to issue bitcoin backed token to facilitate trade. These various reasons are making bitcoin adoption and use popular and with lesser of those coins out their in supply and ever increasing demand, we'd soon see a rise in price for bitcoin.
1139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal customers will be able to use BTC, ETH and other cryptos to pay merchants on: October 22, 2020, 01:09:45 PM
The news is the prime reason for current price hike in the market specially for Bitcoin and Ethereum. Bitcoin broke the 13K barrier after quite a time while Ethereum's rise has been more significant in last 24 hours though they are much less than they were a week ago.
The news itself is a good one as Paypal being arguably the largest online payment system, would bring a lot of new customers to crypto and they'll open a new market. Paypal used to ban merchants for using crypto payments and often reversed the transaction on dispute involving crypto. Now it would be another challenge for them to track all the disputes arising from crypto trading.
1140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Darkside Hackers donating Bitcoins on: October 21, 2020, 10:02:18 AM
I don't believe in this mafia style social work. They are not just hackers but criminals who used extortion to obtain the funds they are donating with.
Such activities and people should not be encouraged. Though they are acting as the good person here, they have done more harm to people.
Anonymous donations should not be stopped just because some criminals tried to send in donations. It would be better if that fund be used to compensate the victims of the Darkside hackers extortion.
