Is now a good time to buy XMR or do you guys think it will come down some and offer a better entry.
I suggest you seek professional financial advice from someone licensed to do such a thing. With all the experience on this thread I thought that's what I was doing. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Picked up a few k though. Hope it pays off. Experienced != Legally Licensed to give financial advice. Legally Licensed to give financial advice != even remotely competent to do so.

I would wait till it comes down to at least 0.003, but I'm pretty much always wrong...Not. You have made some astute calls that I ignored in the past, because hope. Still, FOMO ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

I increase the order size as denominated in btc. I was also thinking about arranging the order amounts in a crude sort of gaussian distribution, with the bulge somewhere around the middle of the ladder.
If I was buying I would not do it this way, I would leave it as is as this way will support the current price and slow down your orders being filled. my 2 cents. If I was buying I wouldn't do it by waiting for the price to come down ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Buying. Not to be confused with bidding. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Regardless of any viewpoints on DASH, historically just about every major XMR rally is preceded by a DASH rally, usually by a few weeks. This is my observation, perhaps its merely coincidence but you decide. I'll be interested to see what happens this time.
Dash valuation is getting absurd. Short soon, in time to load up XMR? FOMO!

Just checked this coin out. I think Monero looks interesting but needs more time before I invest.
Don't wait too much. Use speedthinking TMi don't see it doing much for a while, needs more time, im getting in early 2017 No worries. $12 will still be Cheap Coins TMHaha we shall see, things take time 2016 thus far has been very good for Monero. I expect that will continue, as there is a lot going on. Exciting times after some of the doldrums we've weathered over the last couple years.

Here we are, back into the late 03/16 price levels. Nice green candles, and all quiet in the speculation thread! XBT also creeping back up, putting XMR back in the $2 range again. I like it.
Nice quote. You should credit me for the writing of it, at least.

Adam, I want you to think about this for a minute. Adam: Largely we agree

Yep, the price looks nice lately. Was there any new development or news? What made the price rise? Buyers ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Large market buys like those generally have me thinking short closing...

so does the btc hacker now move into xmr?
Meaning poloniex? No, meaning the hacker now goes btc -> monero -> btc to launder his coins. This could affect xmr's price. This will have future implications of existing exchanges should this happen. I can see Govt's getting involved to "regulate" say Poloniex to try to stop this from happening. Problem is that there are other services that exist to facilitate this method of washing coins, and if those ever got shut down there would be some other avenue to do so. It's a matter of time before the usage of monero in that manner is taken advantage of. Right now monero is not really on the radar, at least not yet. Edit: If polo or an exchange tracking the hacked coins decided to block those coins from being deposited and converted to say XMR, those implications would be interesting to see unfold. I would expect a hacker to deposit in different places utilizing shapeshift.io and xmr.to. I reckon that it would be difficult to block all avenues to "wash" coins from a hack in this manner. But then again it is something to watch for in the future given the technology that XMR has let out of the genie bottle. but this all remains to be seen. Don't Shapeshift and XMR.TO have smallish transaction limits? It would be impractical to get 100K BTC through those channels, I would think.

Wow, this thread made it to page 3 with all the ETH threads cropping up in the past couple days. I don't think I've ever seen it so far down. Markets aren't doing much, but they will be....Soon.
Others make splashy headlines, Monero keeps working methodically toward the goal. I see steady progress, and of course, impending Soon TM stuff. Excitement will follow, I have no doubt.

Soon ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fichef.bbci.co.uk%2Fimages%2Fic%2F480x270%2Fp03mx0wf.jpg&t=663&c=zAC8iApyzBU7SQ) Actually there were quite a few commits today in the repository. So maybe sooner than soon? That would be soon, for sure!

Price is way to low for the new hashrate...
No it isn't. Price was stuck at 50c USD for a long time. It is up 4x from that now. Hash rate is not up more than that, and probably less. Hash rate is about doubled from that era, IIRC. The fact that it remained so low leads me to believe that it wasn't particularly profitable to mine, however, and was sustained by believers, rather than profiteers. Current conditions appear to be more appealing.

This won't end well. Edit: At least it isn't your primary mode of transportation, or your house. I recall people selling their houses and the like when Bitcoin peaked in price a few years ago, and it didn't end well for them. I didn't realize things were already over. A valid point. Poor timing doesn't necessitate failure. A costly lesson perhaps, but its not over til its over.

Let's try to keep it down to 2x monthly, people. Slow and steady wins the race.
In a perfect world price increases would always be linear, but unfortunately that never happens. HODLing instead of trading frequently is probably the best option for most people. I concur. Trading on my small scale requires too much attention, and never fails to get away from me, negating whatever gains I was congratulating myself on. Exciting, but in the long run, I do better to go work for a day and buy at market instead. Let's keep this market rising, then I can retire, and devote the required time to successful trading ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)
