1501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 05, 2017, 03:42:11 AM
I think monero might go down until Bitcoin stablises at a price after the CME futures. Monero look sshady for investors.

Over the last month,$BTC is up around 50%.  In that same period, $XMR is up ~ 150% (ATH about 2 hours ago).

When does this reverse?  Now?  Calling the top?

Also, Bitcoin stabilize after CME  Cheesy  More like after  futures open BTC volatility reaches new extremes.  The tree is about to be shaken.  Hard.

Alright I'm reasonably mollified. Let's moon now.

They're buying OTC from the entity doing the buying in Korea and BFX   Grin

A short squeeze would be delightful.

Are we sure it isn't them that's been running us up? In preparation for the big short?

Don't worry.  Pretty sure they're not done yet...

Everyone on this thread should have dollar cost averages well below JP Morgan.

Is zero low?  I have a zero.
1504  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 05, 2017, 01:07:42 AM
But that's the thing with these.  Does someone want to buy a lot of coin and not move the market prices?  Or does the wall encourage an upward trend since it is well, a wall?  Or rather, downward pressure for tons of people to sell into and it can maybe hold?  Or... all of the above?!
Large walls are sometimes just manipulative, and will be pulled when challenged.  Especially if they are on margin, and just being used to herd the sheep.
1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 05, 2017, 12:07:42 AM

I’m going to guess that we’ll see 180$ going into Jan. as Monero slowly loses value coming off the pumps now, but then hits another pump sometime mid-January (at least that’s what I expect).

New ($211 225) USD ATH. again.  Volume still low.  No sign of losing value yet.

Two Chicago-based exchanges to begin trading bitcoin futures in December

watch for the fireworks

So I have a question about the futures trading: Will these idiots actually have to buy and hold bitcoins in order to buy or sell, or are they just betting on the price like a numbers racket?

Nothing to do with bitcoin, unless they choose to hedge shorts by holding actual BTC.  It is a cash settled derivative bet.

Just finished killing another cobra.  Need the nap to detox.  Will consume said cobra upon waking.  Now SHHH!!!

monthly predictions on XMR/USD through June 2018 based on returns to date and the road to $500 and $1,000

From April 2014 to now, XMR/USD has had a geometric return of approximately 0.3696% per day. Extrapolating that into the future gives us the following monthly prices:

$220 on Dec 31, 2017
$247 on Jan 31, 2018
$274 on Feb 28, 2018
$307 on Mar 31, 2018
$343 on Apr 30, 2018
$385 on May 31, 2018 and
$430 on Jun 30, 2018

If that pattern continues, $500 would be hit on Aug 10, 2018 and $1,000 would be reached on Feb 14, 2019! Talk about a sweet valentine!

What happens if you begin with January 2016 ?

I saw $209 yesterday.  Pretty confident it will be up more than $11 this month.
Block reward is under 6 XMR.  I recall when it was 16XMR... per minute.  That kept a lid on the price, but we all knew (well, many of us) that the dwindling supply would coincide with wider adoption for a considerable land race.  I think it's under way.  Development is progressing faster, and faster.  We move faster, and faster.  Awesome.

Another day, another ATH. What a boring year.  Grin
What do you mean by source like I'm befuddled would you be able to let me know in spread words that I can get a thought regarding the source which you have specified in your post then we can undoubtedly help you on the grounds that on the off chance that you are having data then we can give you numerous data and profound detail so yes mercifully affirm me as you heard what sort of source.

Its probably a bot.

Yep another hacked old account.  Was coherent in 2013.

Bruce Buffer says it's time

Boy who cried wolf.  That guy says its time EVERY time I see him.  It's getting to the point where I don't really even listen anymore.

Monero GUI has a box for the amount to be send. Right side of that box is a button "All". That button is better to be removed, so that no one will accidentally send all xmr.

That button is quite intuitive in my opinion. Furthermore, there is a confirmation window thereafter that'll show the amount.

It is intuitive, but the accidents do not ask a license when they happen. Only useful need for the button is to empty the wallet fast with no need to do the calculation to reduce the fee from the total sum. So I think the "All" button is almost useless.

You don't have to use it, but I'd even go so far as to say it is necessary at times.  I've used it a few times already.  Doesn't have to be so prominent, but I see no issue as is, either.

 Shocked

Old info.  BTC alone is about 196b now.  ~350b total   Shocked Shocked Shocked

...Frankly I am scared, its going full vertical. But adoption is increasing more than ever so really not sure what to think

It's not vertical yet.  When it is, its time for another 50-100% push.
Followed of course by a 60% crash and the choking of all known exchanges  Lips sealed

This is clearly as high as bitcoin will ever get, basically. Maybe just a little bit higher because there are people who haven't realized this is a failed experiment, but that's it. 1 bitcoin will absolutely never be worth $50k. $100k? LOL, no.

What'd I tell you guys? That was the last ATH bitcoin will ever see. People are finally waking up to how much of a failure this project is. Here, if bitcoin gets over GDAX ATH of $11,485, I'll give the the first person to quote me here the last of my bitcoin, which is 0.1 BTC.

Thanks proudhon - you can send the btc to the address in my sig. Smiley

Haha nice one  Grin

Except there are no sigs in this thread. Still though i guess he can get it from your profile. Either Way we will probably never see him here again

Now THAT would be unlikely.

The more I read about the monero, the more coins I want to buy) The guys you do not know the timing of the introduction of the Korvie update and the introduction of multi-signatures, at least approximate.

2018 seems reasonable.  Those things are coming.  Looks like XMR doesn't really want to wait, however.

Bitcoin price hovering around the most recent ATH: another (extra)ordinary day in the making.

I'm legitimately concerned about the possibility that Wall St. is setting us up for a big short. If 2014 taught us anything, there's just as much money to be made on the way down. And those guys don't give a toss.

In Wall St. terms the way down from here is chicken feed. And a mega short right now could well kill things stone dead for a long, long time. I wonder what Wall St. would've done with a $250 Bitcoin that didn't move for months. Sod all probably.

The head room is borderline infinite. And they'd be better off letting that run before walloping things when they can take it better.

Interesting point.

And then, a few of them, might start to get it, and realize they are better off just quietly disappearing, bag in hand, rather than playing games for their masters.
