2201  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin continues to decline, what causes it? on: April 25, 2022, 05:35:27 PM
even very many people are looking for a way and looking for ways how they can get this Bitcoin, of whom there are those who do Mining, Trading maybe is also included, maybe Bitcoin investment is also included,
Bitcoin investment is no a way to get Bitcoin. Investing basically is the process of buying a certain asset which you expect to increase in value with time. if I bought Bitcoin and held, my Bitcoin stash would not increase, what could is the valuation of the bitcoins I got.

Talking back about my discussion above, in the past few days I saw Bitcoin is experiencing a continuous decline in value, what is the reason? and is this the beginning of its destruction? and do you think all Bitcoins will recover with a comeback?
The market value is never stable and goes both ways, i.e rises and falls. This is a constant with Bitcoin and other speculative assets.
2202  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just maybe on: April 25, 2022, 12:35:14 PM
what do you think..
Does not matter to Bitcoin really, and I think to other altcoins. Any stand he might have on any altcoin can be passed through his Twitter handle and still have a large effect on the public, (for a while at least). Plus Twitter has been very receptive to Bitcoin for quite sometime now.

Stopping the spam bots could be a positive as many it them advertise shitcoins and make it difficult to follow discussions as they target large crypto "influencers".
2203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Concern on time spent my phone & pc due to crypto and btt, is this good or bad? on: April 25, 2022, 12:22:58 PM
The world is going digital and many jobs require one to use a mobile device or PC; You will find a desk top computer on almost every table in a company as it is a major requirement, so you would have to accept this as a part of the new normal, especially when working remotely.

I have noticed an increased time spent on both my phone and computer... is this a good habit that I'm about to begin? Or should I continue to regulate the time I spend with my phone and computer.
Moderation needs to be applied to any activity, this includes screen time.
There are unhealthy side effects of increased use of mobile devices, there is also the risk of posture defects if you sit to long at your work table.
• It would help if you build healthy habits to counter these effects, use eye care mode on your screen to reduce effect of the screen light,
• Avoid working late hours, closer to your bed time,
• If you work at a table, get a chair of appropriate height and practise good sitting posture,
• By all means regulate the time you spend on your computer to only when necessary.
2204  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: avoid scam telegram groups , find useful tools and channels on: April 25, 2022, 12:14:57 PM
Started back in 2017 our service to help people to avoid scam telegram groups taking money for signals,
If this was your aim at creating a service, then you should have simply told people to avoid all telegram groups taking money for signals, and in fact all telegram groups taking money for anything crypto related. You do not have to appraise them all and suggest which you think is efficient, the concept of crypto is to verify, and not trust. This includes not trusting your service in picking which scam group is better.

Signal groups offer to make trading easier and tell the members when to act and when not to, functioning same as pump and dump groups where users try to push up the price of a shit coin in order to buy it higher up.
2205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My First Crypto Mistake on: April 25, 2022, 08:55:53 AM
Can you remember your first crypto mistake?
Not finding out about Bitcoin earlier  Angry I could have bought when it was less than a dollar and sold at the ATH.

Just kidding; my first crypto mistake I believe was thinking I got in too late and rueing how much I would have profited if I had bought earlier, I should instead have been appreciating that I was still one of the early comers and taking advantage of that. I eventually got a hang of it after playing around with some altcoins and no major loss, but it's something I try to yeah newcomers to Bitcoin now.

Most people believe cause Bitcoin is relatively so expensive, buying $10, $50, or even $1000 worth would not be significant, and they will rather spend that money on a meme coin to get a million tokens for the same amount, instead of a few thousand sats.
2206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Coinbase noncustododial wallet recommendable? on: April 24, 2022, 06:32:35 PM
That's the impression I get, I think I mentioned it recently that I believe exchanges would gain a little more respect if they ditched the option of long term holding on their websites altogether, and while not forcing users to lose their money if they don't remove it, but I think by encouraging users to move it to a non custodial wallet, they'd automatically in my mind become a little more respectable, since they're actively encouraging their users to follow good security practices.
I doubt they would do this as I can't see the incentive to. If they do not care about user privacy or value it, then they would not want users to get more autonomy.

There's also the fee which is charged when transferring Bitcoin out of their platform. It is claimed to be estimated based on the current transaction fee rate, but is usually "adjusted" to prevent delays, they very well could be earning through that means as well
2207  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Coinbase noncustododial wallet recommendable? on: April 24, 2022, 05:26:21 PM
I personally would never have used a coinbase platform and as such would not have recommended it at all.

With the evidence provided in your thread, I definitely would not recommend it, the non custodian wallet seems like a way to make users who are somewhat bothered about their privacy and custody to feel in control while using their service, more like a marketing strategy against the: Not your keys; Not your coins campaign.

There are lots of efficient non custodian, open source wallet options out there, one doesn't have to settle for a web wallet.
Newbies might be tempted to go for this, in search of convenience; I've many times suggested electrum to new Bitcoin enthusiasts, and many of them were stressed out about how (presumably) complicated it was, and many of them eventually fell back to centralized platforms like coinbase.
2208  Economy / Economics / Re: Does anyone care about the environment? on: April 24, 2022, 03:45:34 PM
How does this affect on the market? Or doesn't at all? On the prices of bitcoin?
Bitcoin does not react to any piece of news out there.

Bitcoin has been roped into the climate change topic, with discussions about how mining affets the environment, but this however does not mean any discussion on climate change would have an effect on the market price of Bitcoin.
2209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I lost my bitcoin on: April 24, 2022, 08:12:35 AM
You cannot get a solution from this community, whether or not your story is believed.
You did not provide adequate information for any sort of assistance and if seems like you do not have such information to begin with.

John advised me to invest in bitcoin and I trust John so I borrowed $300,000 and bought over 600 BTC John helped me buy and save the data in my phone and he gave me a paper with all the data insideand he asked me to save this paper well And after one year the john come back to his country
• How much did you learn about Bitcoin before taking out such a huge loan to invest in it, was it the said John who adviced you do that?
• What platform was the Bitcoin bought on, during the period of the year did you check out the Bitcoin or try using the "data" in the paper to access it?
Your best bet now is to try and contact "John" and inquire more details if you do not have them.
2210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unregulated Trading Platforms on: April 23, 2022, 10:13:15 PM
Bitcoin transactions are irreversible once confirmed. If you sent money to a scam website, you can not reverse that transaction, and no one else can, so do not fall into another scan trying to retrieve it.
Do not pay the platform any fee either to retrieve it. Scammers usually put demands on withdrawals as an attempt to get more money.

3.  No authorities will help not even Coinbase where the transactions were wired from.
Anyway I am sucker who got scammed
Coinbase can not take any action, the transaction happened on the blockchain which is decentralized.
You can report the platform as a scam and try to gather more information to pursue the case. I'm not sure how serious such cases are taken in your country, but it could be worth a shot.
2211  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: April 23, 2022, 08:55:31 PM
I hate when everyone talks about how is Europe, especially Germany going to replace the dependence on Russian gas?
Everyone, in this case includes the German Leaders as well as other leaders of EU Nations.
The process to reduce or eliminate dependency on Russian oil has definitely started in many states and others including the U.S have outrightly banned imports.
The level of dependency greatly affects how quickly Nations can act in this case.

And of course, if (or rather when) Russia loses the EU market, it would greatly affect it's exports as that is their largest market for oil and gas.

Also, there is one thing: Who wants to strengthen the relationship with Russia but destroy with Western countries?
Most countries would not
China cod risk it, as majority of the world are heavily dependent on them, more so than Russia and as such they would not expect as stri k sanctions from the rest of the world.
2212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't take this too seriously, I am just hoping for a better future on: April 23, 2022, 08:08:09 PM
Imagine a blockchain network where users private keys can change passwords randomly to make a transaction and only the original wallet owner can see the code, something like 2FA idea integrated in the blockchain itself
So you're suggesting that the password changes at time intervals just like authy or Google authenticator, and only the owner of the private keys have access to the current sequence of the password.
This would require making changes to the blockchain network and having a centralized system that randomizes the password linked to specific keys, this would not happen.

Password encryption is just a means of securing your address on a specific software.
2213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a good way to privately buy Bitcoin? on: April 23, 2022, 02:25:58 PM
So is there anything like a decentralized exchange for Bitcoin where you can get current market price and exchange stablecoins with Bitcoin with other people? Or any other good buying option that preserves privacy?
Have you tried bisq or hodlhodl?
You can do your research on what stable coins (I don't think there's any on bisq) are transacted on either platform, and the fee is a certain percentage of the total transaction, about 1% (+/-)

Your privacy is somewhat preserved as it's a peer to peer platform.
You'll however still have to take necessary precautions, like using a coinmixer if you don't want the source of the bitcoins to be traced and practicing safe browsing.
2214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the real value of bitcoin today? on: April 22, 2022, 07:40:27 PM
Forget all indicators , sentimental and fundamental discussion! Did any one calculate the theoretical value of BTC and identify its variance from the actual price?
Can this concept be used in other fields?
Lots of assets and stocks have grown over time as they increase their userbase and demand grows. That's how investments work, you invest in something you feel has the potential to grow with time; as more people become aware and demand grows against supply.

Indicators are what you have to go by. And sentiments is imperative in a speculative market.

It has admittedly been a long time since I did an analysis of the network, but the last time I did I found a fair value assessment of around $4,000.  Granted that was probably 6 years ago,
I'm curious to know what process was used to arrive at that value. Some believe the acrua value is a consequence of the cost of production, some others would argue that the value is in its utility. All these are speculations of course and I'm not convinced there's a reliable metric that can be used to valuate an asset like Bitcoin.
2215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any unexpected incidents - Bitcoin on: April 22, 2022, 02:23:42 PM
However slowly bitcoin is getting displayed here and there without reason. Does this intend people to know what is it.
As already mentioned, this was likely for no reason, the editor could have added it because;
• The agency accepts Bitcoin and it was requested, or
• To symbolize payment, this could be to say they are affordable or transactions are fast, just as putting dollar symbol to signify a transaction in many ads.

Lots of people already know what Bitcoin is, to an extent. This is no longer a new concept, it's one that is already wide spread.
2216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling stuff on Bitcointalk on: April 19, 2022, 11:51:25 AM
I'd rather use craiglist to sell those components or even sell using eBay, I can't deal with using anyone as escrow on this forum because I have trust issues with people like me, the only thing the will risk is their account which can only get red trust, thats it, be careful.
You need to be careful whichever platform you use, and you also need to have an element of trust. If you opt for Craiglist or eBay over the forum, then you "trust" them more. You can easily be scammed on either platforms if you do not take enough safety precautions.

This is more of preference than which is better security wise.
About risking accounts, some accounts on the forum are relatively worth certain amounts (it's not ideal to view them as such); this amount cannot be fixed, but you can estimate it to be higher or lower than that which you risk in a trade. Of course scammers can get control of certain accounts and would not mind the apparent worth of it
2217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Auto Staking & Auto Compounding Project's Future !!! on: April 19, 2022, 05:15:40 AM
What is the future of these projects?
And how reasonable is the investment?
• The future of any project depends on the use case of the project, how relevant it is and how well executed it can be done. Many of the projects being launches in the crypto sphere, fail on all fronts and their only focus is on marketing and profits for the "team".

• I personally do not buy the idea of staking your supply of a coin or token to get more over a fixed time period as there's a disproportion in supply, with those with higher stashes getting more than those with lower and also diluting the total supply which can affect the market value.
Some people stake simply cause they noticed they can gain xxx amount over a period of time, without researching on the actual product they are buying into.
2218  Other / Meta / Re: Old design pros on: April 19, 2022, 05:10:43 AM
For privacy conscious people (as it appears to be most are here), this old ass design is actually kind of blessing?
Having the forum maintain its original software after a couple of years is a big plus, as opposed to more recent apps or websites which are updated every other day.
Privacy relevance is not the only reason, the ease of use and accessibility also adds to the user experience.

[No no reading is totally fine. The pain comes when you want to make a response and you'd have to handle multiple quotes. You know those posts that you really disagree with that you really have to refute every single line of the main post? Yea LOL.
What I usually do in such situations; after the initial quote of the full text, I copy out the full quote and paste it subsequently on my reply cropping it down to the line I need and repeating, till I'm done with that text.
2219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2021/2022 on: April 16, 2022, 03:48:37 PM
The match has been more open and entertaining since the Grealish goal. Manchester city are approaching the game with much more stacking intent and creating more chances.
They are also being cautious when going forward, so as not to lose the momentum they have which would be the case should Liverpool get a fourth goal.

Not the best match between the two giantsof England, but pretty exciting. With De Bruyne warming up it could get more exciting.
2220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2021/2022 on: April 16, 2022, 03:20:18 PM
Mane extends Liverpool's control over this match with the third goal of the tie and his second. It had been a quite lackluster display from man city who seem to still be recovering from the battle at Madrid, while Liverpool look sharper at all angles, while not at too form in my opinion.

Arguably, Man city's goalie should not be beaten so easily at his near post, coming after his horrendous error forhthe second goal.
The second half should be interesting. Pep wod definitely make some changes, and would Klopp want to sit back ?
