1341  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello Im new in crypto but i have idea on: December 22, 2022, 06:18:08 PM
I am not exactly sure what you are proposing. Do you want to act as an escrow for physical establishments? I don't think there's a market for such service.

For example: big city like London one person want to sell furniture but there is issue with trust so i tought i start to provide with 2% fee escrow service
Why would they trust you instead?
1342  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the entire Crypto Market ever likely to be Scammed? on: December 22, 2022, 06:13:49 PM
Could the entire crypto market ever be a scam?
How much faith do you have about the crypto world?
• Yes, with the exception of Bitcoin,

• I don't have any faith at all in the crypto market; you do not trust, you only verify. If there are loopholes or flaws which make verifying difficult, the avoid such coin or token.

Can I confidently choose Crypto World to safely store all my hard earned wealth?
Like the bank?
You are confident in the bank? Why then do you need an alternative?
1343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People who holds 1+ Bitcoin, how does it feel to hold in bear market? on: December 22, 2022, 08:26:47 AM
if you are daily price watching, you are not a holder
you are an exiter, because you are looking for the right price to exit
I beg to differ on this, that's why I added that this occurs at the initial stage. After years of being into Bitcoin, you become less worried about the current price as you've built confidence in the product and the protocol.
For a new hodler who just invested a couple amount if dollars into this project that they have only researched on, but not actually held in a wallet and owned, looking at the price action is expected and would be fascinating to some.

Admittedly, many new investors would exit, out of which some would return and others won't.
1344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People who holds 1+ Bitcoin, how does it feel to hold in bear market? on: December 21, 2022, 07:22:28 PM
Note that people replying here may or may not hold as much as 1BTC. No one would so easily give a hint of how much of an asset they own, as that would be a poor privacy decision.

How does it feel to hold it in Bear market?
And what would you suggest to the people entering the market recently and having thoughts about selling their share of BTC? What's your advice to them?
Experienced forum members can still give good advice on this as they have been around this space for some time now, witnessing different bull and bear markets over that time.

• It feels frustrating to hold initially as you constantly check on the price, multiple times a day even, only to see it remain stagnant or even drop. You wonder when it would rise and you'll get that adrenaline rush of a bull run. There would also be a lot of dead cat bounces, where it does rise, only to fall back soon after.
You need to build your mental resolve and of course, only invest what you can afford to lose.

• If you're having thoughts about selling, look at the charts and zoom out to see the larger picture.
You likely wish you had bought ten years ago, but even if you had and sold early at any price drop, you'll still have profited nothing.
1345  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are you here? on: December 21, 2022, 07:12:38 PM
Hoping to learn more about cryptocurrency and how it really works. I will not stop until I can invest in a right project and contribute a lot in this forum.
Here is Bitcointalk forum, and the focus is on Bitcoin here and not altcoins and for good reason too. Bitcoin was the first and has been the most consistent cryptocurrency, having all the qualities of privacy and trustlessness. This means that most here have a leaning towards bitcoin and would try to convince others to do so to.

If there's something you'll definitely not learn here, it's how to get rich quick.
Read replies and join discussions with an open mind. Do not be desperate to get a project to invest into and get lots of profits, there's more to the crypto space than that.
1346  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I came here to Learn On Bitcointalk on: December 20, 2022, 08:23:21 PM
Welcome to the forum. The first few days can be daunting and confusing, and many newbies drop out before making 5 posts. Would check back to see how far you go.
From your write up, it's pretty obvious English is not uour first language. This doesn't cause any sort of discrimination here as long as yourboists are at least readable and understandable, but if you are stronger using your local language, you can check the list of local birds and threads available to know if yours is represented.
There you cin communicate freely ad learn from a more close knit community.
1347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Edward Snowden is ready to become Twitter CEO for bitcoin pay on: December 19, 2022, 07:33:44 PM
I don't pay much attention to Elon's sensational tweets which are created for attention, nor is an average individual concerned with the administrative aspects of running Twitter.

Snowden offering as CEO might be a bit of crazy. But he might be able to make the Twitter more alive, Snowden must have lots of things to discuss in relation to free speech that's for sure.
A CEO does not necessarily need to draw traffic through discussions, if Twitter needed that, it would be better of going for an influencer. Also, the success of a business, even a social media platform, is far more than building traffic and engagements.
1348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Few Days To Christmas - How Are You Preparing? on: December 19, 2022, 07:27:29 PM
This probably is not a topic for Bitcoin discussion, maybe Beginners & Help.

If you sell your bitcoin to maybe buy new set of clothes and shoes, you threw away your bitcoin because, in three months time maybe, you probably will Not be wearing those clothes and shoes anymore..
Why then lose your Bitcoin for items that perishes in such a short time?
Firstly, I have clothes and shoes I've been wearing for years now and they are still in good condition, I think I'll still be wearing something I got three months ago,
Secondly, people are allowed to enjoy things. Investing, of course takes time and patience, in addition to understanding of the market; one should know when to buy and when to sell.
If you need to take some profits to enjoy the festive season, by all means do so, have fun and enjoy the holidays with family.
1349  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Chilling Realization on: December 16, 2022, 09:14:44 PM
A prediction is like a guess, one can get lucky with it and use lots of analysis to make a technical one, but it's still just a guess. You shouldn't bank on a prediction, cause people say things for different reasons; could be their perspective of the market, or saying what the public wants to hear, to build followership.

You should only trust your judgement, and this involves trusting yourself to trust the judgement of someone who you consider informed. There are a few useful content on the social space, but they are mostly drowned out by the shillers and bull market merchants.
1350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your ideas are strictly needy on: December 16, 2022, 09:08:38 PM
we ve talked a lot about bringing crypto adoption to my people, my brother and I are thinking of installing an Bitcoin ATM machine for a start and see how it goes.
Crypto adoption is not brought about by making it more accessible to the people (except there's a lack of such accessibility), there has to be an understanding of what it is and then an interest in the product.
You can check this interest by surveying the number of users of bitcoin within the state, with what information is publicly available. With this data, you can check where more interest lies and then go a step further by finding out what drawbacks users experience.

I, for example, is a Bitcoin enthusiast, but would not use a Bitcoin ATM to buy or sell, and there are others like that. Understanding what the people need would enable you better serve them.
1351  Other / Meta / Re: How Far You Can Go Without Breaking the Rules? - TEST on: December 14, 2022, 10:06:14 PM
As long as there are people who are banned, we can say that not everyone can make 10/10 Smiley So I hope this thread will be useful to someone.
Wasn't knocking down your effot; it's a good initiative and would surely help many forum members come to the awareness of the rules and why it's important.

I was a bit sleepy while typing, happens sometimes and the message doesn't come through as it was intended.
Would love to see a challenge to know how may members TUI - Type under the influence. Not necessarily literally  Grin
1352  Other / Meta / Re: How Far You Can Go Without Breaking the Rules? - TEST on: December 14, 2022, 09:25:53 PM
Many of the questions are general, forum trivia questions and not necessarily related to the forum rules or how to avoid breaking them.

I scored 10/10, which doesn't mean much, cause I've been around here for a while.
Newbies should have a go and see how familiar they are with forum rules.
1353  Other / Meta / Re: Why do users just state their opinion on a topic rather than discuss it on: December 13, 2022, 09:44:06 PM
Any sort of reply in a thread is stating your opinion on the matter. I'm doing that now with this reply and others who comment would be doing the same. This is also a form of discussion as in replying to you thread and discussing the matter.
I do reply to some threads after commenting on it, and many members here d the same; when it's necessary.

~Why does it seem difficult to continue a discussion on a topic.
~Why do people just state their opinions rather than continue a discussion?
• Nothing else really to add, or they do not have a notifier bot activated, so they are informed when they are quoted,
• For the above stated reasons, with the addition that they might just be spamming with no intention of joining a conversation.
1354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Art on: December 13, 2022, 09:31:17 PM
Bitcoin can be art if you want it to be, it can also be a currency, or an asset, or a ticket to freedom or another explanation you make of it. Your Bitcoin is yours to define and yours to use.

I prefer holding bitcoins and spending the only when necessary, many would argue that that's bad practice and you should use it as a currency wherever it's accepted for a product you need. We both have different definitions of it based on our locations and needs.
The only way you shouldn't use Bitcoin is installing a third party, which it was created to eliminate.
1355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 13, 2022, 09:26:49 PM
Argentina would be playing at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on Sunday in the world cup final, for the second time in only eight years.
This would be a storied game, with so much hanging in the balance should the Albicelestes win in five days time against any of Morocco or France.
Messi could very well be playing his last world cup (definitely his last in too form) and would want nothing less than to lift the famous, golden trophy.

Big game tomorrow, and as much as I would want Morocco to become the first African team in the world cup final, I fear that France might be too strong. Hopefully, the Atlas Lions would keep roaring.
1356  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A few keynotes for a serious newbie's. on: December 13, 2022, 09:19:30 PM
*Apply some breaks in your urge to always make a comment:  create a paradigm shift mentality in your urge to always want to make comments to threads. At times apply some breaks by making it a culture whereby you set aside some moment whereby you go through other forum users threads and comments with the mindset to learn from other ideas through their comments and thread.
This is very important for all forum users.
To be able to constructively contribute to discussions, you need to consume useful content which would improve your knowledge base on certain topics, on which you can educate someone on later

To put it in perspective, you should recognize that at a point, all forum members regardless of rank did not know anything about Bitcoin, so whatever you see more experienced members contributing, it was learnt from several sources, and if they could learn that much, then you can too, you only need to figure out a way that works for you and a topic that interests you.
1357  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Keep your money off exchange, in this crisis moments hold Bitcoin for safety on: December 13, 2022, 08:07:24 PM
It was always imperative to keep your funds off centralized exchanges and under self custody. Bitcoin was designed to operate without the need for third parties or trusted networks, all you needed to do was verify;
• Verify the signature of the wallet you intend to use,
• Verify the codes of platforms you use,
• Nodes then, would verify transactions made, before pushing them on for confirmations.

If one is going to be their own bank, then you have to take responsibility for the actions you take.
1358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We No Longer Pay People Directly on: December 13, 2022, 07:59:20 PM
This is how digital innovation works, cash transfers are highly inadequate to cater for all transaction needs that we have, hence we need digital form of payments, which can allow us pay from anywhere, to anyone in the world.
The centralization that comes with it is a downside and means our financial dealings are mostly controlled by corporations, which are inevitably controlled by the government.

Bitcoin allows us transact, without a cooperation or central authority, but digital transactions are still giant leaps in innovation.
1359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Digital Platforms should accept Bitcoin - Makes more sense on: December 12, 2022, 08:12:25 PM
Whether I watch the advertisements or not, whether I skip them or not, someone is always getting paid, someone is always seeing their revenue go boom on a platform just because of my spare time and those 5 minutes.
For the creator of the content you're viewing to actually get paid, you need to watch the ad for a stipulated number of seconds for it to be registered. This is one reason I labor through some of the unrelated ads to me, when they pop up on videos of content creators I learn from or who put a lot into their craft.

Since these are digital platforms then wouldn't it be sensible to add Bitcoin as digital currency to get paid or lets say to buy premium subscriptions and much more!
Fiat works fine for them, why change?
Bitcoin related content are restricted on many social platforms, I would not be holding my breath waiting for them to implement it into their payment system.
1360  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hypothetical crypto hypnosis on: December 12, 2022, 07:28:41 PM
This got me thinking, could one be hypnotised to do some financial transactions? Or
Maybe, have there keys or seed phrases exposed?
Account passwords and more.
Hypnotized? I think not. I don't believe fully in the concept and for it to work, it needs the right environment and mood, which you cannot have with a total stranger or an unwilling person.

Risks which are related to this include;
• Getting an overdose of drugs which can make one delirious and prone to divulge personal information when persuaded,
• Getting kidnapped and threatened to reveal the details of your wallet or to send them to a different wallet. Here, plausible deniability would help a lot.
