2201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good to invest Dot for long term? What are your thoughts about Polkadot? on: July 12, 2022, 11:39:57 AM
So I have been reading about this Polkadot para chain for the last couple of days. I can see this Polkadot is massively grown parachain and there is much more to come. Sp Dot price now is at a good point. So I want to know whether it is good to invest or DCA Dot? Or do I need to just wait till the breakout shows in Dot?
Not only DOT but everyone is suffering from this bear market. DOT barely in the top 10 right now, sitting at 12, so it's a sign that this coin is still very strong and could have a bright future.

So I would say why not? if you really believed on it's parachain and it could really grow massively in the next couple of years then invest on it while the price is still cheap in this bear market. Because once we are again in a bullrun, it could be X amount of returns for your investment.
2202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The number of hodlers on: July 12, 2022, 10:44:26 AM
Although the on-chain indicators point towards the worst-ever BTC bearish market, they also underscore the increasing resilence of hodlers.

The number of hodlers not selling ever under extreme market conditions has become higher than in previous bearish markets.
Of course, doesn't make sense for holders to sell just because the price is tanking and one of the worst bearish market.

We even have this report, Bitcoin Leaving Exchanges Hits An All-Time High. But it doesn't mean that the bitcoin leaving exchanges are being sold, maybe they just want to put in a safe wallet wherein they have total control over it.
2203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 11, 2022, 11:09:56 PM
What do you expect? He is under Top rank which is good at somewhat making their fighters good specially after a big lost. So I would agree that this is a cherry pick fight for Lopez entering a new territory at 140 lbs. So no more big fights for Haney or Davis at 135 lbs. Although we have seen Davis fight at this division already and winning a belt against a weak champion. Good for Lopez if he can win this fight and then call the other champion and established himself again.
2204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 11, 2022, 10:37:17 PM
I believe Ioka has more world title fight experience than Nietes.
I don't know about this but I like to believe that Nietes would not lose in this fight if he is not old, at his age now, I think Ioka will bounce back and beat him. Losing a split decision means the fight is very competitive, so now Kazuto Ioka has the edge due to his age and he is more active than Nietes I think.

Yes. I also think that prime Nietes will beat a prime Ioka. Both are the same 4 division champions and are future Hall of Famers. They nearly have the same styles too. They're both smart, technical, patient, and armed with excellent jabs. I just believe that prime Nietes is just slightly better.

Back to reality. Ioka has a clear edge in this coming rematch. I don't think Nietes has the power to knockout Ioka and his age makes the mission becoming nearly impossible.

Knocking Ioka's is really a tough job since Nietes even in his prime is known for this kind of power punch, he beats his opponents with patience and good timings, with that statement of yours, I always say that Nietes is better in terms of prime era. But likewise, with his age and with crowd advantage of Ioka, it's more on mind games and how Nietes can stand until the last round and see if he will win with the judges' decisions.
Yes, Nietes is not known to have a knockout power, but he made it up with this brilliant fighting with being a technician and putting on a clinic in every fight during his prime.

But we will see if he still has it, of course by his age, he is no longer in his prime. But maybe he can still perform as expected and beat Ioka. It might be a slim chance, but with no Filipino champion right now, maybe that will motivate him to and give everything for his country.
2205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 11, 2022, 09:37:23 PM
Wiseman looking good for the Warriors in summer league. He’s blocking shots, catching alley oops and creating and draining his own 3’s. He’s looking like he may fill a need for the Warriors next year if he can stay healthy. Scary that they won it all without their best prospect. They might be an even better team next year.
James Wiseman is pretty much showing the Warriors that they had done a good job on drafting him, we can see it on he played at the Summer League.
Recently, he suffered a knee injury but that doesn't stop his dreams as he managed to give some good positive results for the team, if this kid will get all the exposure and experience he needed, he will indeed be the next center of the Warriors and Green will have a less burden and will just take a full time role being a defensive player.
And with that performance, it's obvious that he has healed already. But we need him to see in the actual NBA games to say that the Warriors management did a good job on drafting him. Although they already have a history of having a keen eye on talents. But still, and I'm sure everyone is exciting to see him play with the Warriors uniform this season and if indeed the hype is true.
2206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 08, 2022, 09:52:15 AM
Really? I thought Tete was still fighting in bantamweight, well if that's the case then Casimero should pray that his requests will be granted and if he will be granted, I hope that he won't waste that opportunity and make sure that his weight will catch-up this time. I bet that will be his last chance in the bantamweight because if he can't still address his issue then I guess it's time for him to move up.

I'm sure WBO will grant Casimero's request. There's no reason why it shouldn't be granted.
Maybe there are reasons that they will not grant him, not the first time that he was overweight in fight, second, he was given a second chance by the organization and yet Casimero take that for granted. WBO will look like a fool if they allow him again, just saying.

But this time, Casimero needs to show some valid reasons that he is fit for the fight. Imagine he is having weight problems for 2 consecutive matches and that is not a good impression. He won't stand a chance against Naoya Inoue if he is struggling to catch up with the required weight.

All he can do is trash talk and that's where he wins lol if he don't do something about his weight problems.
Just go on the next weight, no need for him to stay as he body can't squeeze to that limit and this might be one reason that he will lose in his next fight if he insist on the bantamweight. It might be dangerous for him if he go again.

I'm also seeing the same scenario and that is WBO won't give him that request he wants because they are done on giving that same chance and Casimero just wasted his opportunity. The WBO will just go silent for a few days so that they will look like they are reviewing his request but I highly think that it won't be approved too.

His only chance is to move in super-bantamweight or featherweight and try to be the champion in that division so that Inoue will be the one who will look for him when the latter decides to move up soon.
Thanks, at least someone has agree to me,  Smiley

Yeah, I think it's obvious that Casimero has been treated very well by the WBO, they given him the second chance, most boxer don't. Once they failed the weight or for some medical reasons, can't make it to the fight, there chances are gone.

So Casimero is on the crossroads, mis judgement on his end, so he has to pay for it. No more fight for the belt, he has to start all over. Or move to super-bantamweight so that he will not have the problem of not able to make the desired weight for bantam.
2207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 08, 2022, 09:06:27 AM
it is 72% against 27% favoring Donnie Nietes 11 .

I assume that even in His older age still People are aiming and trusting Him to win this fight?

but the sad part here is if that he losses this one , maybe he will also retire like the 2 famous Filipino Boxer that face defeat and decide for retirement.

Retiring is going to be an option for Nietes IF he losses, which I don't thin he will. If you take a look at his last fight against Reveco last year, he's still looking sharp and mixes his punch very well. Nietes is a smart boxer and an underrated one. He fought Ioka once and that gave him the edge to win the fight, and that explains the odds as well.
And that also explains why people/bettors are trusting him 100%. Being strong and smart at the same time is a formidable force.
For the records as well, he's the longest reigning Filipino world champ boxer.

True! He won't be the longest-reigning Filipino world champion if he's not that good, he's just underrated because back in his prime, Pacquiao and Donaire are more known than him. He may be aging but his experience and IQ in the ring will speak for him in the ring, particularly this time that he had already faced Ioka few years back and I also don't think that Ioka will have the advantage in this upcoming fight.
If we do look on Donnie Nietes stats.
https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/215599

43-1-6

Out of 43 wins it does have 23 KO's.Yes, he might lack in power but sustaining on having 1 loss out of 43 wins then this is something
that cant really be ignored. Its true that he might that not getting too much attention because of pacquiao and donaire
but this guy is already 40 which retirement would really be next in line whether he do win or loss this one.

He is actually a decent boxer with 23 knockout results over 43 wins, his only loss came from a boxer named Angky Angkotta way back in 2004 in Jakarta but that was not a bad loss either because it was a split-decision. After that, he never tasted loss again and surely that loss made him a far better boxer than he is in the year 2004. He is good but his timing was unfortunate because Donaire and Pacquiao were also reigning at the industry that time.
I guess for Filipino boxing fans his name is quiet familiar. But for casual fans, it will still be Manny Pacquiao and then Donaire. And that time, there are a lot of PH champions, who will forget Hawaiian Punch Brian Villoria?

And in that lost, Angky was over the limit, so it's not a fair fight.

Anyhow, his names should have been cemented in Filipino boxing already, and so with the other great boxers of his generation. And this winning this fight will be something extra for the great Nietes.
2208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 08, 2022, 08:30:04 AM
There is a rumor that Pacers are interested on the services of DeAndre Ayton. They are negotiating a sign and trade centered on Miles Turner.

However, we have heard that Phoenix is also interested on KD. If they push this one, they might be erasing their chances to land the KD sweepstakes. Or it might take more players from them, maybe they will have to include Booker now or Crowder and Bridges.
Now, speaking of KD, I've seen a proposed trade on Facebook (NBA Buzz) between the Timberwolves and the Nets.

The Nets wanted KAT, Edwards and 4 first round picks in exchange for Durant. Well, the Timberwolves declined on it and I think it is a good choice knowing that KAT and Edwards are still young and talented as well. The Wolves' management don't want to give these young players to KD.
It seems that Timberwolves have already settle down with the Gobert acquisition. There's no way that they are willing to trade KAT and Edwards because nothing will be left on their team.

With regard to KD going to Phoenix, I don't know what will the Nets try to get in exchange for him but just basing on what the Nets asked with the Timberwolves, there is a chance that they might try to get Booker and/or Ayton and some first round picks in exchange for KD.
Nets might be willing but it should include good players in the side of the Suns. Ayton's name has been there and so is Bridges, but not sure if the Suns is willing to include one more just to get KD. Maybe only CP3 is the untouchable one in their roster regarding trade.
2209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 08, 2022, 08:05:04 AM
Yes, the difference in their height is of course visually very noticeable, I don't think it plays a decisive role, but of course the impressive difference is probably also the operator tried to choose an angle to emphasize how much Magsayo is lower than Vargas.
Not just the height, reach difference too.
70 and a half for Vargas while 68 for Magsayo.
There's a reason why Vargas will keep on running in this fight and that's to maximize the advantage of his reach. Just put in a lot of jabs and try to win a decision.
Magsayo on the other hand should come up with a strategy that will make this fight as close as he can. That's where he will get his KO punch. Let Vargas do his norm of running until he exhausts himself.
Looks like that will be their game plan, jab jab and to bust Magsayo, that is if he can land and that is jab is so stiff and that it will put a dent on Magsayo's face.

And he has to throw it like going down, so it will take a lot of effort instead of like horizontal punch. I think Magsayo will become the aggressor and target the body because Vargas is so tall. He has all the blue print on how to beat a taller guy, just watch Manny destroys Chris Algieri or even Antonio Margarito.
2210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why is bitcoin price important? on: July 08, 2022, 07:24:30 AM
alot of posts seem to be focused on the price of bitcoin. i understand why because they are wanting to sell it for a profit but is that the purpose of bitcoin or was there some other purpose for it? i thought it was originally designed to just be a way to transfer digital cash in a decentralized manner but it seems like people don't really care about that part of it and all they care about is what its price is. seems they got the wrong idea of bitcoin.
True it was designed to be a P2P payment system, we can't deny that as it was written by Satoshi in the whitepaper. But you have to understand that even in the beginning, it started to have a value and then early bitcoin enthusiast have crypto exchanges, and with that it has change everything.

thing is, for alot of people it seems like when bitcoin price is "high" they think that means it is succeeding more than when it is "low". but if we think about bitcoin's intended purpose, it doesn't matter what the price is as long as bitcoin can be transferred peer to peer without any centralized party being involved. so if bitcoin was worth $1 people shouldn't complain.
You can used it to whatever purposed, but I will say that it has not become an asset. And I doubt that it will go to $1.00 argument of yours. You really have to look at the early history of bitcoin to understand it's progress.
2211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Read]: YTStealer Malware on: July 07, 2022, 11:32:27 AM
I guess some of us here at one time, have been downloading knowing and unknowingly softwares that has malware in it. I will admit that before I used to do that, but it was long ago, prior to joining to crypto.

Yeah, even if you run it on Virtual or Sand box, malware like this has the capability to detect the environment. As per the article:

Quote
The first thing it does when it’s executed is to perform some environment checks. This is to detect if the malware is being analyzed in a sandbox. The code that performs the checks comes from an open-source project hosted on GitHub called Chacal. Figure 1 shows a screenshot of the project’s readme file. The framework is marketing itself for Red Teams and pen-testers. It provides anti-debugging, anti-memory analysis, and anti-VM functionality.

2213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 07, 2022, 09:58:28 AM
I'm looking at odds before the upcoming fight here everything has been unchanged for several days now https://box.live/boxing-betting/magsayo-vs-vargas-odds / however, the bookmakers' bets have changed in favor of Vargas' victory, apparently local bets in his favor prevail, I think this gives Magsayo additional motivation to win.
Yes, there was a change as Vargas started to be the favorite and then Magsayo had a massive odd swing but at the end Vargas regain it back and I think it will stay this way as the fight is just a couple of days from now.

But it is still very close odds though, and this might be the closest odds for a fight that we have seen in boxing for a long time. And it just shows that this fight is really a must show as both are very exciting specially Magsayo because of his power. But at the same time, Vargas too will have a lot of fans because the fight is going to be held in Texas.
2214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: July 07, 2022, 09:14:24 AM
And here is the current odds for this fight,

Usyk - 1.49
Joshua - 2.44

And the over/under is 10.5 at 1.67/2.16

So bettors are expecting a full 12 rounds of pure clinic by Usyk. He might hurt Joshua as we all know that he doesn't have a good chin, But I don't think that he will go for the knockout. Or it might be a short night for Usyk, if Joshua will pressed hard and look for a knock out.
2215  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin drops to $8k on: July 07, 2022, 08:35:47 AM
I believe Bitcoin will get to another All Time High, it's just matter of time, but it can also go the other way. Nothing is assured!
Yup.
We've waited for 3 years until bitcoin has broken its former all-time high, $20k. And it only took a month or two in 2020 until it reached $20k again when it was under on that level.
I also believe that we'll see a new ATH and this has proven the cycle to be real and it will come with bigger traditional players just like how it went in 2022. I'm trusting and have confidence in it especially when we're approaching to the next halving.
It's really about the cycle, bulls and bears, and for me the harder we fall on this bear market, the higher we go up in the bull run. Of course, it's disheartening to see the price going below the previous high of 2017, this is the first time that it had happen, nevertheless, the chances for a new all time high in 2024-2025 is also very good. Halving might be just around the corner, yeah I know, still about a year to go. But in crypto, time flies very fast. So in the next 5 months it's already end of the year.
2216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 06, 2022, 11:04:48 AM
Chet Holmgren looking like a good prospect. He put up 23 points, 7 rebounds, & 6 blocks (summer league record) along with shooting 4/6 from three point range. The Thunder might have themselves a good rookie on their hands. He’s going to need to put on weight but Giannis did it. With Chet’s size and skills he could be a very interesting player to watch as he starts his career.

Yeah, I saw the highlights, as he battle Tacko Fall and another 7'0 foot guy. And I would say that this kid has a lot of potential, he can shoot outside, like Dirk, has the moves like Durant as wall. Of course, the kid is very young, his body is not yet developed, so there is a lot of room for improvement as far as his size goes. But definitely, this is a good pick by the Thunder and hopefully they can developed him.

Now that he's in the NBA and is playing professionally, he can focus on improving his game, body, and everything related to his basketball career. He indeed have a lot of improvement and who knows he'll be the first Center who will forever change basketball. A Center who can do everything. I might sound a bit exaggerated, but as far as how the NBA is picking on big men today, they always prefer those who can shoot and has guard skills.
I don't think that he is a pure center per se, and as we all know, NBA has evolved in the last 10 years that this big men are also shooting outside. Even the 3 point competition was a break out year last season as KAT won it.

And just like Dirk or any bigs that can shot right now, they are not pure Center, it's that they have to evolved with the ever changing landscape of the game. For sure, OKC will have a full development program for him as he might be their next franchise player.
2217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 06, 2022, 10:10:26 AM
^ Yes, I also check and the other betting options is already available.

Magsayo by KO is 5.00 and Vargas 6.20. And then looking further, it seems that sport bookies are looking for this fight to go to distance.

On the other hand, some of us might think that the fight will not go to distance. We are looking for Magsayo to convince with a huge win by knock out.

I will take the KO win by Magsayo, this is a big odds and an opportunity for those who believe that Magsayo will win here by KO. Thank you guys for notifying us about the odds, I'm also waiting for the full odds.

Same here, I would not hesitate to take that odds as we don't usually see that kind of very attractive odds for a champion. Besides, we are supporting Magsayo here so it's a big treat for us especially if he will successfully defend his title via KO. I have to be honest, Vargas on record is really tough, but I believe Magsayo will do the work to KO him.
And he will definitely wanted to go for a KO, as he said in his interview. He noticed though that Vargas loves to fight backwards so it's a question whether he wants to engage Magsayo or not.

And if doesn't then Mark said they are also ready as he has spared with different kind of boxers, from brawlers to defensive fighters. So this is going to be a interesting fight and possibly he will look for a KO no doubt.

Today's Nadal - Fritz match might prove to be more exciting than expected, Fritz has been great so far. I planned to bet on him winning - but the odds aren't that attractive.
What do you mean not attractive? Fritz is the underdog against Nadal at 3.05. Or are you talking about Nadal? yeah ML is not attractive at all.

And it's a tricky match to be honest, I'm leaning towards Fritz to win at least a set here, or maybe by a handicap for him at +2.5.
2219  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Going To Fall Below The Previous 20k ATH possible? on: July 06, 2022, 07:48:52 AM
Prepare to be shocked!!! In a few days, we'll be doing a 10k!! History has been shattered in front of our eyes, and Bitcoin may never recover over $40k till the next halving... In two years, we'll see each other again.

I will finally own 1BTC when it drops to $8k  Smiley

Most likely, there will never be 8k, although I believe in the price of $10,000 for 1 btc. This level is an absolute bottom in many respects, Bitcoin during periods of complete capitulation lost 80-85% of its value from the last ATH. But. This will definitely not happen in a few days, the market cannot fall indefinitely, bounces and consolidations are important, so now the market is more set for a bullish correction. About $40,000....in 2018, too, some argued that bitcoin would never be worth $20,000.
Obviously, it didn't happen obviously, the OP might hav exaggerate it. And if ever we will go to $8k, yeah, it will be another record, capitulation already. And so we are back again in the $20k range, good to see after that $17,500 bottom we have seen 2 weeks ago if I'm not mistaken.

But it's not over yet at least for this year, speculation is that $13k will be the absolute bottom. But we will see, recession is really hurting every market and hopefully the world can recover very soon.

It's like the Brooklyn Nets just made an experiment but it failed. So what's next? A question that had been itching for many Brooklyn fans.
Durant wants a trade and I think Kyrie want the same.
They will be left with nothing if it happens or a roster with roleplayers unable to create chemistry or they could just stick with the plan and try the experiment one more time just to see where it will go.
It really is a failed experiment by the Brooklyn Nets but with their superstars, they might get a good trade package for those 2 especially Durant.
Kyrie wants to be in the Lakers and Lebron wanted it as well but the question is who will the Lakers trade just to get him. Durant now want's to go to either Phoenix or Miami but that would be hard because I don't know who will either Phoenix or Miami want to trade just to get Durant.

I just don't know but if Kyrie will go to Lakers, the Warriors might get Durant again (guess only) and they have a good trade package to get Durant with Poole, Wiggins and Wiseman so they an get it if both parties will agree. The future of the Nets now is still unknown but we might see a picture of what they will be doing next season if Kyrie and Durant will be traded and which players will get in exchange for both of them.
Gonna be huge for the Warriors if they will able to get Durant back. But we all know things have been said after Durant left, so might not be a good idea for the Warriors to get him back again that will cost a lot. But who knows, as we have seen in the last decade or so, there are no longer loyalties in the NBA. Organizations too, if they think it will be good for them, then definitely they can break the winning formula so we will see. I'm still on the fence though.
