2241  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia exchange hacked on: January 17, 2019, 11:50:20 PM
~snip~
I would have thought Cryptopia was a sizable exchange and at this stage
why have they not sufficient security in place to protect other proples
funds? Its not good enough really.
Look its not always them to blame here. Just take a look at Japan and South Korea even though they have dozen of security requirements and compliance checks before they hand out their licenses to crypto exchanges some of them are still being hacked. Hackers are really going to extreme measures here just to steal your money, its always gonna happen not until they have some corporate bank level security going on in their exchanges expect that crypto exchanges to be hack regularly.
2242  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Taxation of companies issuing coins and stable coins on: January 17, 2019, 05:19:43 PM
Now why would your friend count it as "selling goods" isn't stable coins or any other cryptocurrency counted as an asset and should be taxed via capital gains tax?  So the only thing that should be taxed to you is when you sold your stable coins above your purchase price. If you aren't getting any profit from it then it won't be taxable.
2243  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia exchange hacked on: January 17, 2019, 04:04:17 PM

This tweet made me laugh and I think this tweet sums up the level of FUD Cryptopia being hacked will get, which is none. Cryptopia isn't even in the top 10 exchanges in terms of daily volume traded so why a lot of people are making a big deal out of it? It has been two days already since the hack happened yet there is no notable drops I have seen in the market.
2244  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Things to consider before lauching a gambling site ? on: January 17, 2019, 02:46:56 PM
License and a bag of funds  Grin
Did you assume that they just hand out their licenses to anyone? They won't even be approved by the Curacao Licensing Authority if they haven't provided any proof of capital such as income statement. Even if you see a lot of e-game gambling sites are registered to Curacao they still have a strict process on who they hand out their licenses as every time a Curacao licensed gambling site scams someone their name are also associated with that gambling so they just won't approve anyone just for money.
2245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 17, 2019, 01:53:33 PM
There are some rumours going around saying that Higuain could miss the game today, some people are speculating that it is due to his inminent transfer to Chelsea...could be a big blow for Milan if he can't play today. Anyways, I think i'm going with +1.5 goals @1.33 and BTTS @2.10...not feeling confident about the latter but we'll see.
Still a lot of unconfirmed news regarding this one and new sources are taking advantage of it as the rumors are still hot. That is why I don't look for news anymore in Google as I know most of them will be fake. I now only use Reddit as my news source as redditors right now know where to find the proper news sources in the forum, and as of right now no one is confirming about Higuain's situation nobody is even confirming that the medical for him happened so right now everything still is just a rumor.
2246  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MINTNODES.COM - Any other victims from exit scam? on: January 17, 2019, 12:47:40 PM
Right now you are chasing a ghost, so far I have seen no complaints in Reddit as well in the news saying mintnodes have scammed people with regards to them shutting down their operations. Supposed you have find users similar to your problem how will your try to reach them? Mintnode's last activity here was last September 18, 2018, you have no known official contact numbers and addresses so you are really out of options here not unless you ask for help on your proper authorities which I don't think is worth your time if you just lost 80 SUB1X.
2247  Economy / Economics / Re: Belarus has launched a regulated bitcoin exchange on: January 17, 2019, 11:44:03 AM
To show its support, the Belarusian government will not levy taxes on such transactions until 2023. Earlier, it passed a law on cryptocurrencies, hoping that they could help Belarusian companies attract foreign capital.

VP capital is lucky that they are fully supported by their own government, but will this come back and bite them in the a**? I mean they are only doing this in the hopes of improving their economy but tokenizing traditional assets really looks like a bad idea in terms of the Belarusian government having control with their own domestic markets, they are allowing themselves to be vulnerable to foreign investors to be manipulated with some price and dump action. This is still on its early phase and I may be wrong but they just allowed themselves to be the test subjects of this system.
2248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be A Good Miner on: January 16, 2019, 07:27:34 PM
After you read everything, finish setting up your mining rig, and joining a mining pool you should remember the key to profiting from mining is your cryptocurrencies mined having a greater value than your expenses. A lot of people have shutdown their mining operations including big mining farms as what you will be earning is highly dependent on the current market price you have mined. That is why even though the mining difficulty has becoming easier lately still miners are still on a stop on their operations as the market prices right now couldn't catch up to their expenses.
2249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Own Gambling Strategy on: January 16, 2019, 06:00:12 PM
I think any gambler that has limited in cash are doing this strategy. Anyone who wants to prolong their cash in betting are always saving up their winnings as well as taking some of its bits and pieces when they are on the losing side, in this way they can have a few more bets to get back up. I cannot call this a strategy but if you think being smart on staying alive is a strategy then it is one. The problem here is when you have a losing streak it will be harder and harder to gain what you have lost in the process.
2250  Other / Meta / Re: im still Newbie..still not update to jr. member on: January 16, 2019, 03:37:03 PM
This is a perfect example of how members spending most of their time posting (updating their bounty requirements) rather than reading anything here in the forum are posting dumb questions that have been answered hundreds of times already. His account is created almost after a year since the merit system was introduce yet he still thinks that the old ranking up solely via Activity still exists. He isn't really here for the interest of cryptocurrency but for the interest of earning money. Pretty soon he will realize that he needs to earn merit in order to rank up and you will notice this guy will be posting shit up just to earn one or if he becomes desperate he will start begging for those sMerits of yours.
2251  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-15]Malaysia Implements Cryptocurrency And ICO Regulation on: January 16, 2019, 12:57:55 PM
Malaysia is not one of the countries being shown mostly in the headlines of cryptocurrency news sources. But even without the media attention from their cryptocurrency scene they are in fact one of the countries who adopted early to cryptocurrencies just like Japan and South Korea, the only problem is they have a struggle on having a legal framework not until now unlike their Asian neighbors who were fast on implementing theirs. I think that their main problem back then was their decision on not recognizing digital assets as a legal tender in their country while at the same time figuring out on how their crypto exchanges will work with that kind of implementation.
2252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain values to maintain in 2019 on: January 15, 2019, 08:14:49 PM
The article itself is written vaguely without any concrete examples on why he remains optimistic in the technology itself. There are no mentions of any cryptocurrency and no mentions about patents related to Blockchain that are obtained by companies. In fact judging by how he have written his article I only see that he is talking about Blockchain technology as a P2P payment system which is pretty close minded on his part. To be frank he is just like one of those bounty spammers we have here in our forum writing shit up just to say  he have completed an article.

Private information is who I choose to disclose the information to. So if it is a discord group I disclose that I am ok with all the members seeing my information I amd allowing them to view my profile and my username. See the point I'm trying to make whether it's a picture of my face from 20 feet away or from 5 feet away. He's not allowed to disclose anything without asking first or taking time to crop out the information to prevent other users from seeing.
I'm with Lauda on this one, in an open case like this one you cannot choose what information you just want to show as in any legal court that can be considered as withholding information/evidence. After all you are not asking any permission from FJ when you are posting your screenshots by yourself, why can't they do it too? I know its hard to look at but with your convo with David it seems to look like you really appreciated that they refunded your deposit back, what it looks to me now is you are unsatisfied with what you got (who knows what happened in your mind) and you are trying to extort the money out from FJ.
2254  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ETH777 is a fuckin scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (eth777.io) on: January 15, 2019, 05:49:28 PM
The campaign manager, arguelles84, has been tagged already regarding other projects. Also someone already warned members already in their ANN thread it seems like nobody in this forum will trust this man and project anymore. I mean they are more like an HYIP site rather than an ICO itself offering up to 12% daily returns and promising that they will give prizes such as cars and Iphone XS Max which are all red flags to an ICO pre-sale intending to raise funds for their project.
2255  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FortuneJack Casino Refuses to Pay 20 BTC Won From Jackpot! on: January 15, 2019, 04:51:05 PM
You again? Didn't I already explained to you what gross negligence is in FJ's ANN thread? Yet you still continue to claim what is not rightfully yours. Like I have said before if you have obtained substantial and unfabricated evidence showing that they have done a willful neglect on their job in spotting the bug before you got an error in your winnings you must show it to us. Because just posting here playing around your words won't really help you progress at your case at all. Just be happy that you got a refund from your deposit because of the bug.
2256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: January 15, 2019, 03:17:06 PM
We all know that Pacquiao is deserving to have a rematch against Floyd Mayweather the only problem is Mayweather isn't done hyping it up so there's that big money coming in, his fight against Tenshin Nasukawa didn't really add up to his fame anymore and the only thing makes him happy is the money behind it. The rematch may not be a reality anymore as I have seen news that Mikey Garcia is showing an interest against fighting Pacman himself and this will also be an interesting match to see if this happens.

I disagree, we do not know that. This is the fight where we can estimate if Manny is indeed deserving for a money fight against Floyd Mayweather. Floyd is undefeated, he is also considered to be greatest pound for pound boxer. He makes the decisions, not Manny. Manny does not deserve anything from Floyd unless he defeats Adrien Broner unanimously.
Well we don't know that for sure. But remember way back 2015 Floyd Mayweather denied Pacquiao for years before the fight even officially happen, I won't be surprised if he is doing this confirming and denying just to get a lot of media attention to smoke up the fight. Yes Mayweather is the one who he will be fighting next but so as Manny Pacquiao, all boxers at the same time need to agree about the fight and its really not solely on Mayweather's decision whether a fight will happen or not, like I said earlier there are a lot of fighters lining up just to fight Pacquiao.
2257  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Could we change username on: January 15, 2019, 11:59:49 AM
It seems like the new user isn't ban evading and is just having trouble remembering his/her old username so I think he/she is still eligible to create a new account as it is a cheaper alternative compared to becoming a VIP or donator. If you won't be constantly changing your name I think creating a new account is the best option for you OP.

VIP’s can add a custom title, but I believe Donators (10BTC) and VIPs can both change their display names, which is what OP is I’m sure referring to when he says username. I say this because I have the ability to change mine.
This got me curious if you will be changing your name will your old name "OgNasty" be available to be registered to a new user? Or your previous name will just be stored just for you so that you can re-use it? Because if its the former I don't think its a wise decision on changing your name when your name itself has a good reputation in the forum and is involved in a lot of transactions.
2258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: January 14, 2019, 08:42:14 PM
Continuing on the link Kemarit shared, Pacquiao, Mayweather come face to face at Clippers game. Read the comments about the news.

https://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=803493

The posters there are into boxing more than the average fan, I reckon. But a greater part of their comments do not want Floyd versus Manny 2.

Does that imply that such an event is not ready?

Not everything are published in the internet, those are inside talks that we do not know and with a big money involve, I doubt both parties are not interested to make this fight happen again. I'm pretty sure that there will be a Pacquaio vs Mayweather 2 and it's going to be realize soon, most likely this year and I have already thought of putting my money on Pacquaio despite the fact that he is an underdog for this fight.
2259  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism as a result of cultural differences on: January 14, 2019, 07:54:06 PM
~snip~

Even the 'cultural' description on those students are wrong from my pov. I never remember we've been taught to not respect individual works or feels we should be uncomfortable when we cite someone on our papers. As collective as we are, individuals works are still respected ,even when we engage in online discussion.

One of the largest forum in my country, which is more 'carefree' than Bitcointalk still does not allow plagiarism. Even on Facebook, when some user posts a status that is similar to the status of somebody else, we 'bully' them. There is no cultural differences, we know plagiarism is bad.
I'm glad that you brought that up, I was afraid of mentioning this as I might offend a lot of people but I'm from an Asian country and the university I went to has a really big punishment for plagiarism, we even had a seminar on plagiarism and proper citation before we started on doing our research paper. So this Turnitin article has bugged me a lot as it made it look like most Asian countries don't know what plagiarism is. I guess Turnitin doesn't even proofread and fact check their own articles anymore which is pretty hypocritical on their part.
2260  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-14]Reserve Bank of India Forces Customers to Abandon Dealing with Crypt on: January 14, 2019, 07:12:08 PM
Here we go again with the Indian Government (RBI) sending mix signals to its citizens and even the world of cryptocurrencies. I really thought this was over by now when I read the news about the Indian Goverment formed a committee who is in favor of legalizing cryptocurrencies in their country. This RBI really has to stop being part of any of the new committees by now as they are really going against other departments who are in favor of other currencies being used in their country. Those who are in the higher ups should be concerned about the progress of this situation as they are just wasting time and money for a one messed up department.
