2241  Other / Off-topic / Something Important To Know About about Betting and Prediction on: February 04, 2021, 01:45:06 PM
It's not a bad thing to bet or predict things. What is bad is the abuse of Betting/Prediction.

I believe there are people created for this purpose, or people talented in it.

So, don't be surprised when you see certain people you respect so much involved in betting/Prediction Market

Don't despise certain people when you see them involved in things related to Betting/Prediction. It could be their God-given talents you are hating or trying to suppressed.

I have always been fancinated by it and its markets (Betting/Prediction Market) right from my teenage days.

Some regard it as Betting, others Gambling, there are people who believe they mean thesame things. I don't think both mean thesame thing. But I understand that mixing both together could be due to people trying to comply with the law and how certain national laws see it. People make mistakes, so are the laws made by people who make mistakes. It is ok to identify the mistakes and avoid accepting them as true.

I'm very much interested in predicting world events, competitions, currency price, stock price, price of precious metals,
etc

It's about "Predicting or Betting on the Right Unknowns". It is not a bad thing if done morally/right.

2242  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is skipping meal a bad habit? on: February 04, 2021, 10:56:39 AM
I think short fasting(maybe from morning to 12 noon) is ok for certain people. You could try something called "fruit-fasting" if you are worried about the probable side effects of dry fasting. Very healthy light foods while doing short fasting is recommended. Feed on Healthy light foods such as fruits and vegetables. It's OK to drink lots of water during the fasting.

Not everyone can handle long dry fasting. Do the short one if it makes you healthy and makes you feel good.... You could gradually increase the length of the fast if the short one gives no problems.

China becoming a monstrous superpower and a severe possibility of a red singularity.

West drowning in victimization, cancel culture, and dummy politics fueled by the power of social media platforms.

I notice the "red singularity" and its linkage to China.
Anyway, the US will continue to control/influence the world. It will be stopped though in the near end of the reign of anti-christ. It's the wealthy lady of kingdoms who enrich others with her wealth
2244  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk-takers always ahead financially on: February 04, 2021, 10:16:56 AM
Ofcourse. The risk should be worth taking though, and you'll need to do the right things as much as you can to reduce risk to the bare minimum. I believe learning a business properly and doing it the right way can reduce risk alot. Those who cut corners or make money immorally will always face the consequences if they don't change and apologize to those wrong in their course of making money. The right rules must be followed else you are cutting corners and promoting corruption. I believe there people who try to avoid certain businesses or avoid getting wealthy due to the breaking of the right rules(even though people are breaking it without immediate consequences), corruption and it consequences...
2245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People die from heart attack when they hit the jackpot. on: February 04, 2021, 09:56:55 AM
By the way, I would prefer the winning amounts to be moderate in order to avoid situation like that. Better that the rest of the prize money is split into my parts and spread around so that there will be more winners
Then lottery games are not meant for someone like you because people usually winning big through it with just a $20 ticket.

So how do we make sure that people who win big actually benefit from the wins or don't get badly affected by the wins? I believe my response is directed at the negative consequences of winning big and how to avoid it, which is what this thread should be about in order to tally with the topic & the post and help solve the problem it provides.

People should learn to detach themselves from material things so when they unexpectedly win/lose, they pretend as if nothing happened and move on. The less pressure could even help them know how to spend the money or manage the situation the right way. .
By nature, all human is connected to the material and to avoid a situation stated by the OP it depends on the individual maturity and health illnesses. However, gambling is not for people who cant control their emotions/buzz I don't why it hard for people to understand this.

You think the woman gambled (or took big betting risk)? I'm more concerned about people's betting safely/responsibly rather than taking big betting risk.
By the way, I have played lottery before and my risk was very little. Didn't really bother myself with the winners because I wasn't attached to bet... I guess it was because I bet with what I could afford to lose.

2246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India makes ownership of Bitcoin criminal offense - How to respond? on: February 03, 2021, 04:56:22 PM
I think they (Bitcoin users in the country) would do well if they rely on the fundamental laws in the country that prevent people (esp those in position of authority) from abusing their powers. I believe there are laws in the country that recognize the right to own good assets like Bitcoin. What people in position of authority should focus more on is regulation and the prevention of abuse/misuse of good cryptocurrency. If they could jail people from using crypto, they could aswell jail people from using any other asset they don't like whether the asset is good or bad.
2247  Other / Off-topic / Re: Good habits about learning on: February 03, 2021, 04:07:23 PM
I prefer to learn what interests me, what I'm passionate about, what I'm talented in etc.  And you would learn things much quicker if you have strong desire to solve problems with what you are learning about.

If you can't concentrate while learning, try fasting, fruits/veg/herbs, hot tea, avoid distractions, go to quiet place and learn.
There are couple of good things I do that really help... Not sure everyone will welcome it.
2248  Other / Off-topic / Re: Need to change some habbit on: February 03, 2021, 03:45:36 PM
You sleep more often thesedays and work less? I occasionally have similar experience too(assuming that's what you mean). What normally cause mine are over eating, bad foods (esp fried foods, refined sugar)... Other possible causes: poor ventilation, lack of exercise, inadequate blood in your body, poor nutrition, could be sign of illness etc
I would advice you explain the issue to good/qualify doctor... Maybe he/she will test and treat you. Mind the food you consume... eat healthy, exercise regularly(do some physical hardwork more often), sleep in well ventilated places etc.
2249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC and decentralized projects possibility on: February 03, 2021, 10:24:37 AM
Traditional Governments can actually be part of the regulation of decentralized projects if they want to. The important thing is that people do not compromise on decentralization, transparency, safety and other good crypto ideals due to regulation. I would challenge developers to retain all the important crypto ideals while being compliant...none should be compromised for the other. I believe this is a challenge that should be solved by developers.

✳Be compliant, but don't violate the good/Important cryptocurrency ideals such as
Decentralization
Transparency
Immutablity
Privacy/Anonymity
Trustlessness/permissionless
Safety
Community Consensus
Deflation
Etc

Projects that meet the requirements should also be very efficient and easy-to-use
2250  Economy / Economics / Re: The narrative behind gamestop and wallstreetbets (a parody) on: February 03, 2021, 09:57:55 AM
Or they could be shocked that people have discovered their secret and could easily win the battle if they are united and stick to doing what is right always.
I do not fully understand the GameStop issue yet but I have a feeling that what the people did was more moral (may not be over 60% right though) than what the elites did. If everyone plays according to right rules, the people could easily win.
I believe there is ongoing battle. Chains are being broken from millions of people . People need to feed on what is good and avoid going back to their vomit. Knowledge is currently being given to people of this world, so there won't be excuse when what is coming in the future comes eventually.
2251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Toronto women win jackpot lottery on: February 03, 2021, 09:29:44 AM
I know it's stupid, I know the chance of hitting a certain number is always the same, whether it was last hit 10 seconds or 10 years ago, and yet, sometimes, when I play Roulette I keep betting on the same number waiting for it to pop up eventually. Sometimes it does, and other times it doesn't even after 150+ rolls, but I'd rather stop the game than change the number after 150 consecutive fails in a row. Smiley

I'll do the same thing, the hardest thing to accept is when you change the number and after a few rolls your number come out, so you end up sticking your number and hope that it will eventually come out even if it means a long wait, but twenty years of betting is a long perseverance, I'm glad that stick to their game, the worse is if they change the number or stop betting in their 19th year and the next year it comes out, congratulation to this couple.

Yep, by not changing the initial number we are saving us from the possible psychological damage. Smiley

I'm too glad they won in the end. And replying to @Kelvinid, no, I don't think they've lost more than $60 million in the course of 20 years. They don't look like millionaires, they are regular folks, and I'm happy for them.

I guess they occasionally played what they can afford to lose/risk, and responsibly too. I believe that is how things like lottery should be be played, as contributed money is pooled and given to their "lucky" winners. It's like a community pooling funds together and randomly distributing to some contributors.
It would be better if all contributors benefits sufficiently in one way or another (not necessarily financial), and the winners benefit more... That will likely help make most people appreciate lottery/betting.
2252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People die from heart attack when they hit the jackpot. on: February 03, 2021, 09:00:38 AM
It is sad to know that someone died in heart attack because that he won the Lott....

Sudden excitement makes them vulnerable especially if you have a weak or underlying heart illness. It's better to be with members of your family when you check your ticket if you have an idea some details is already known or winning. This overexcitement or shock and palpitations and raised heartbeat is the main cause of heart attack, I pity them because they won but they cant enjoy their winnings.

Another important thing, if you aren't too attached to things like that, you won't be shocked that much if you win or lose them in "large" amounts. By the way, I would prefer the winning amounts to be moderate in order to avoid situation like that. Better that the rest of the prize money is split into my parts and spread around so that there will be more winners
People should learn to detach themselves from material things so when they unexpectedly win/lose, they pretend as if nothing happened and move on. The less pressure could even help them know how to spend the money or manage the situation the right way. .
2253  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to deposit to Betfair in banned countries 2021 on: February 03, 2021, 08:33:42 AM
Wonder what the reason for the ban of betfair in Op country is... Or is bet fair just blocking countries that don't allow very risky bettings or gambling? If it's due to citizens safety then it's important to know how risky betfair is and probably consider other betting sites with very minimized  risk. But if betfair is safe and promotes responsible betting, then the ban may not be right.
Betting sites need to make their services as safe and useful as possible. The services shouldn't be harmful to customers, and they should try as much as possible to help customers understand that good benefits of their services, which should be way more than the disadvantages. I think the advantages (and small disadvantages) could help bettors  convince their governments to allow the services in their country. It will likely be hard to convince governments (govt that ban due to the huge risk) to accept risky services in their countries
2254  Other / Off-topic / The Entangled Minds — Here is an idea how of how the Minds of most Humans are on: February 02, 2021, 02:00:49 PM
Imagine trying to draw out a long thread from an entangled white sewing thread like the first image below, compared that to drawing out long thread from the green non-entangled sewing thread (2nd image below) . The white will get stuck while you try to draw it out, whereas the Green one will get drawn out easily without getting stuck. This is similar to the way information is obtained from our mind. The mind of those who feed on wrongly orderd or false information will have hard time obtaining the information.
So becareful what you feed your mind with. Make sure the information you consume is right and correctly ordered. There is also a problem of information getting suppressed or deleted from your mind by those who constantly repeat the opposite of that information. . I believe this is why the media continues to repeat information, so that people will forget the opposing info and believe/remember the other. If the information is lie and you believe it, you believe the lie and get imprisoned in it.

2255  Other / Politics & Society / I can't continue to ignore this interesting videos on Capitol protest on: February 02, 2021, 09:50:29 AM
My heart burns in guilt whenever I come across these interesting evidences on my bookmark.

I remember when similar protest(peaceful protest) was about to happen where I live, I warned my church not to get involved because it could be trap by the evil one and his agents to unleash violence and blame it on them and others.

I hope justice is done in US concerning what really happened during the protest.

2256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin inheritance on: January 29, 2021, 04:11:39 PM
I wonder if anyone has found a way to do this without the use of third-party service.
Smart contract will likely play a big role in this in the future.  You could also create an inheritance device that works offline and is controlled by coin owner. Once the owner passes away or does not respond to the device for certain period of time, it sounds an alarm & automatically releases the coin keys to a specific family member who will need to answer couple of questions that unlocks the device and enables access to the coin private keys or something.
2257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The low latency and scalability issues plaguing Ethereum.  on: January 29, 2021, 03:26:45 PM
I wonder what consensus mechanism Polkadot uses.
Well, I don't understand the problem yet but I think the idea suppose to be to have a Multi-Blockchains Network anyone can easily participate in without having to be limited by the "large" minimum number of Stake or Hardware requirements . The huge minimum requirements just complicate things and make nonsense of the idea of well decentralized network/system.
Another important thing to consider, Blockchains should be mostly for light data. There should be separate Networks within a  Cryptocurrency Network for storing files like audio, video, images, etc, and the seperate networks could be scaled almost thesame way multi-Blockchain Network is scaled.

2258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most discreet way to hide your crypto from thieves? on: January 29, 2021, 02:14:21 PM
Interesting. Storing coins in memory cards did interest me, mainly due to the multi-purpose nature of memory card and how affordable they can be for most people around the world.
It doesn't sound resistant to fire or resistant to other harsh conditions, unfortunately.

One of my preferred methods to store keys is the use of strong, thin and bendable wires. It's an idea that could interest alot of people if demonstrated. And you could construct a device (or buy one if available) for shaping the wires quickly, in cryptic manner. After shaping the wires, you tie them together and hang on something or hide somewhere safe
2259  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bad eating habits on: January 29, 2021, 10:41:13 AM
I think it's important not to eat at night
Skipping breakfast is also very harmful to health, but who stipulates that we have to eat three meals a day

I don't think it's necessary. You could however eat very healthy foods like fruits/vegetables more than thrice a day. I tend to grind them together and gradually sip the juice throughout the day. Works well for me in empty stomach or without eating regular/heavy foods.

Eating 3 times a day doesn't really work well for me, especially when I eat too much or eat unhealthy foods. I believe there are people who fast regularly and are still healthy... They don't always eat morning, afternoon and evening
Fasting is great if done right.
2260  Economy / Economics / Re: Coin exchange markets create the coin "out of thin air " on: January 29, 2021, 09:50:33 AM
The $3.5 is close to what 0.0001btc is actually worth.
If a legitimate exchange gives you that amount of bitcoin, it's probably because you paid for it, unless maybe the exchange is giving people some sort of bitcoin bonus, or it's sent by mistake? If that's what they do, then the bitcoin is  most likely coming from their Bitcoin reserve.
Make sure you are dealing with actual exchange rather than scams. And also make sure what you are talking about is true and you understand it.
