That's excellent news. I suggest you make your public signing key available on at least two or three hosting servers as well. The redundancy is a security feature. I believe almost anything LoyceV says, I've never encountered an occasion to doubt him. I've never tried to do such a thing myself, so I don't know how it's done. But if I'm not mistaken, only the xpubs of the wallets that signed the transaction can be extracted from the TXID. So, if two private keys sign a 2-of-3 muli-sig wallet's a transaction only one of those two keys' xpubs can be extracted. Furthermore, I believe one needs to know the remaining xpubs (the other two, in your case) to extract the unknown xpub. |

Yes, but only if one of those public keys is not the derivative of either of the two private keys in his possession. To steal the funds from a 2-of-3 multi-sig wallet the hacker would have to have at least two private keys, and the public key of the third wallet. |

This is one of my questions. I am assuming one master public key is lost. And without the 3 master keys of a 2 of 3 multisig i think i cant recover the wallet even with the 3 private keys with me.
If you have all three private keys, you can restore the wallet by creating a new multi-sig wallet with those private keys. You'll be able extract the public keys in the process. The public keys are derived from the private keys. |

If a hacker has access to your master public key the only thing they can do is see your public addresses. Your privacy will be compromised, but your funds will remain secure. If your seed phrase or your master private key for a multi-sig wallet were compromised, the hacker still won't be able to sign transactions unless he has access to remaining quantity of xpriv keys needed.

One minor thing: The Bitcoin icon is designed in Light Blue color. I assume we all accept the default color of Bitcoin (BTC) is Orange. It's not Green (as BCash) or Light Blue.  The older version had a blue icon also. Maybe because Electrum's logo is blue? This update wipes out the default list of receiving addresses, users have to create each receiving address manually.
Click on "View" in the menu bar and enable the "Addresses" tag, you'll be able to see them listed there.
So, I've been playing with the console commands to create a seed, and I'm having trouble with it. I can get it to work in with cli from the terminal, but I can't get it to work from the console. For example this works just fine from the terminal: ~$ python3 ~/.local/bin/electrum make_seed --seed_type=segwit --nbits=256 --offline
But I can't get this to work in the console, and the error code isn't very helpful: make_seed(seed_type=segwit, nbits=256) Although, leaving out the seed type does the same thing, and that does work. But if you want a standard seed, and replace segwit with standard it still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? Do I have the syntax fubar'd? |

I just learned that Electrum has released a new version, 4.1.0. I read through the release notes, and it seems like most of the updates are related to Lightning Network. This is good news. Electrum is probably the most popular bitcoin wallet around, and as it become more and more user-friendly for lightning features it'll help the network gain more usage. I do, however have a question about this update that does not appear to be tied to the Lightning Network: * The wallet creation wizard no longer asks for a seed type, and
creates segwit wallets with bech32 addresses. Older seed types can
still be created with the command line.
I haven't had a chance to download and play with the new version, so I'm not sure what this is getting at. Does this mean that Electrum will no longer produce "Electrum Specific" seed phrases with derivation paths specified by the checksums? |

I checked the PGP. What do you mean by this? You claim you don't have the letter of guarantee, but you have to download it before you can check if for a valid signature. Did you or did you not check the signature of the letter?
MCM gives the user a very powerful tool in form of Letter of Guarantee. It is indisputable. The only "power" the letter offers is proof that the address belongs to the anonymous service. It doesn't guarantee that you aren't a scammer. There is no log. Not only because the logs are not stored or the information were deleted. There is no log because the transaction was never tracked by MCM. MCM tracks only the transactions belonging to its own addresses. Quit beating around the bush, nobody cares about the "ownership" of the address. Maybe it belongs to MCM, or maybe it belongs to you personally. Stop trying to hide behind the semantics. The question is a simple one with a "yes" or "no" answer: Did you or did you not receive a transaction for 13 BTC on or around the date and time the OP's txid? Had the funds landed in one of MCMs addresses and were not processed for any reason, I would contact you asking for a message signed with sender address describing where the funds should be sent. They have not. If this were to have happened, how you would you have contacted the user? Contact information isn't requested by your service. The rest of the story matches what would have happened if you sent the funds to a malicious website. You should ALWAYS verify the LoG - not only download but also verify against the PGP key. The malicious websites oftentimes give you the LoG with the deposit address changed. Looks the same and is still signed by MCM, but the signature is invalid. Wait, what? That's contradictory. How could it be signed by your service with an invalid signature? This sounds like a convenient excuse to deflect the blame.
This is one of the weirdest scam accusations I've seen here. Both the OP and MyCryptoMixer seem to contradict themselves, and getting a strait answer from either seems impossible. |
