1481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can't sign a message with bitcoin core on: June 03, 2022, 01:25:55 AM
This may not be necessary, but just saying. If you can not sign a message with Bitcoin Core using natiive segwit address, you can use Electrum using Tor to generate address and sign message from there. That do not affect your privacy unless you want to use the address for sending and receiving bitcoin.

There's little risk to privacy if you import a single private key into a new Electrum wallet and connect to a public server.  Since there are no other keys associated with the master public key, there are no other addresses to associate with the one that's being imported.

I am not asking for personal information. It is enough to pass the KYC on any site and provide confirmation.

Just curious, did you notice TimeLord2067's loan application?  Did he qualify, and was his loan granted?  If not, can you please explain why not?

I need to be sure that the person really exists.

Before I provide information proving that I'm over 18 years of age, can you prove that the coins exist?  A signed message using an address with some funds would be good.
1483  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: June 02, 2022, 06:41:41 PM
Looks like chipmlxer.com (SCAM!) just got a nice idea from you  Undecided

Don't blame anyone other than the scammers, that's not helpful.  Dkbit98's prediction was the obvious next move whether it was mentioned or not.

The funniest part is that the scammers "onion" address is actually a clear-net address with chipmixer's real prefix.  Anyone who's used tor would know that's a big red flag right away, so hopefully it won't trick too many people.  If only these scamming clowns would put as much effort into a legitimate business as they do into scamming, they would probably make a comfortable income for themselves.

Post a bitcoin address, I'll give you a dollar just because you made me laugh.

I'm afraid to sell UST because it could recover to $1

Hahahaha!  Okay, so this is a joke.  A funny one.  Good job.

1486  Economy / Lending / Re: 1$ Loan Urgent on: June 02, 2022, 05:11:35 PM
Are you kidding ?
And for what you need this big amount ?
You need a valid collateral. Lol
I need a loan to buy a LUNA because it will grow 10 times. Can I use UST tokens as collateral?

Under normal circumstances I would be 99% certain this is trolling, but after looking at your post history I'm not so sure.  You might actually be serious.  Why don't you just buy Luna directly with your Terra tokens?  Anyway, the transaction fees are more than the interest you've offered, so even with collateral it's not something likely to happen.
1487  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1994 Mitsubishi Delica L400 Exceed on: June 02, 2022, 04:29:14 PM
There is sales tax. You can't really avoid it regardless of how you pay for the vehicle as it's typically assessed at the time of registration. But that's usually buyer's problem.
Is there a way to avoid paying taxes (or pay less) if previous owner declares that hi is giving away his car as a gift for free in United States?
Maybe he can register this car in some other countries like Mexico if he wants to avoid paying high extortion fees (just a crazy idea).

Not all states charge sales tax on used vehicle purchases.  Oregon, New Hampshire, and Delaware (for example, I think there are more) have no sales tax at all.  When registering a purchased car (new or used) in those states, they don't charge sales tax.  When one sells a used car in California the seller needs to list the sale price on the back of the title (or bill of sale,) and taxes are assessed based on the county/city in which the purchaser lives.  The buyer has to pay the tax to the DMV when registering the vehicle.  Even if the car is given as a gift, the value of the car must be declared.  The only exception is if the car is transferred between family members.

I've sold cars and had the buyer ask me to list a very low price on the title.  Kind of a shitty request to make, asking someone to commit perjury so you can save a few bucks...

As for registering cars out-of-state, California has had a problem with this for a long time.  Since our state government is as corrupt as any racketeering mafia and our registration fees reflect it, many people register their cars in Oregon because it's much cheaper.  Not long ago they started cracking down on people with Oregon license plates on their car and California addresses on their drivers licenses.
1488  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 02, 2022, 04:06:13 PM
$30,000 definitely feels like the $6,000 point in 2018. We’re just here chilling, thinking this is the bottom & we can’t go any lower. I hope it is but if we test the lows I am going to buy with all I have.

Interesting times!

Zillow says my house is worth a fuck-ton more than I would ever pay for it.  Bitcoin feels underpriced (but I agree that it can go lower.)  Everything feels upside down, inside out.

Thanks Joe Rogan!  Undecided

I guess I'll be the punk-rocker DJ until I get out of this nostalgia phase and back to my typical Blues/Country/Folk playlists.

All I ever needed to know about NFTs is they're NON-FUNGIBLE TOKENS!  He'hem, so sorry for my outburst.  Sort of.

Digital art is great, I love it.  Those who appreciate it often purchase prints to hang prominently and enjoy.  It's been monetizable for decades.  Unless the price you pay for your pretty picture includes reproduction rights, it's nothing but a pretty picture.

And the driving wheel is on the....Grin..what side?

Lol, good question!  It's right hand drive:

Nice little 4-wheeler.  It would be perfect on the narrow fire-roads where I hunt deer.  I'm going to have to pass, though, right-hand-drive is a show-stopper for me, and I agree with Shopmix; the price is a bit steep.  Advertise it on craigslist in the rural areas of the north-east and mid-west; a lot of postal workers in those areas have to drive their own cars, and many would love a right-hand-drive for obvious reasons.
1492  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitcoinpenguin.com not paying out winnings on: June 01, 2022, 07:03:02 PM
hello there, i just wanted to report that the mentioned casino (bitcoinpenguin.com) is not paying out my winnings,
after more than 7 hours after withdraw, it is still in pending status.
Lets wait a little bit to see if the pay.

I've never heard of bitcoinpenguins, so I'm not defending them or supporting your accusation at this point.  But, 7 hours isn't anything to worry about.  Many casinos hold onto withdrawal requests for some time so they can combine the payouts.  It saves them a few sats on transaction fees, and if it's a smaller casino with only a few clients they may combine withdrawal requests for single payout every 24 hours.  The big cyrpto casinos do the same thing.  I will say that I don't recall ever waiting 7 hours for a payout from Sportsbet (for example,) but I can't say with certainty that they have never taken that long.  I usually request the withdrawal and go about my business, I don't sit around impatiently waiting for the coins to show up.

I recommend you remain patient and if the coins aren't sent to your wallet after 24 hours, then it may be time to worry.

Sorry but I will have to decline your offer, this is to much for me especially when the box was opened, even if you didn't use it at all (and you did).

No worries, thanks for your interest, nonetheless.

I just checked ledger website and brand new nono X device costs around 149€ with free shipping, and I can find it even locally.

Woah, I checked their site this past weekend and I could have swore they were asking $179 (USD,) but now I see they're asking $149 (USD, not Euros.)  I agree, $125 is too much, I'll drop it to $100.

I'm not in a hurry to sell any of these, I just got tired of these things taking up room in my drawer.  Give the ad a few more days, and if I don't get any bites I may be willing to entertain offers.
1495  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1994 Mitsubishi Delica L400 Exceed on: June 01, 2022, 03:31:17 PM
Thanks. So what tax is OP taking about?

I don't know, I've never imported a car.  Maybe there're some tariffs that need to be paid, but I would imagine that would have been charged along with the importation fees, not when (if) the car is re-sold.  Good line of questioning though...  I would like to hear the OP's rational for that comment.

If I get paid in USD I then have to declare that as earnings to the IRS at the end of year, meaning I'd probably lose money. If I get paid in crypto I can just exchange it for GBP in couple years and pay whatever crypto gains tax there is in the UK - the IRS doesn't need to know

I think you're confused about that.  The IRS doesn't require you to claim proceeds from the sale of personal used goods as income.  Did you get charged fees and a tariff when you imported the car?
1496  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1994 Mitsubishi Delica L400 Exceed on: June 01, 2022, 02:15:47 PM
I know nothing about buying cars in the USA: what taxes does the seller have to pay?

The federal government doesn't charge any taxes on private sales of used cars.  The money that people spend on cars has already been subjected to federal income tax, and since most cars depreciate in value there's no capitol gains.  Some states do charge sales tax on used car purchases, the buyer is responsible for paying those taxes.

0.000032BTC

I'll buy that for a dollar.  Seriously, what are you asking for it?

I have no familiarity with this vehicle, they're not imported to the US.  Is it full time AWD, or does it have a selector?  What size engine does it have?  Manual transmission?  Any chance you're willing to drive it sunny Northern California?
1498  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reputation: nullius is a cunt ✔ on: June 01, 2022, 01:08:01 AM
I certainly hope it's nullius, because I would hate to believe there is more than one insufferable narcissist of that caliber on this planet.  If I had any doubts they've been extinguished by reading this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg60264248#msg60264248

The way he quotes himself, brags about (alleged) accusations of nullius being Lauda's alt (wishful thinking,) practically gushes over nullius like he's a legend, and already suffering from delusions of his own grandeur.  Just like nullius would.  It's definitely the dark-side of nullius.
1499  Economy / Reputation / Re: For the reputation of this forum: you HAVE to rule on this flag! Share 10mBTC on: May 31, 2022, 08:23:01 PM
You don’t need this 1mBTC for your curse, you’ve just earned it

Promises, promises.

you don’t have the intellectual level to jump in this anyway.

Ooooh, so you're an intellectual?  An intellectual who believes in curses?  Do you cast spells, also?

You are allowed to return it back to same wallet it came from, if you don’t want my second prediction above to come true.

Lol, how pathetic.  Just save your cursed coins, nobody want's them anyway.

You got your money back, but you didn't get to play fast and loose with their casino.  That's not a scam.  As it is, I think it's been made pretty obvious that nobody (with any clout) supports your allegations.
1500  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Who Is To Blame?, The Celebrity Or The Fans? on: May 31, 2022, 07:26:53 PM
This is a legitimate question

Here are some more legitimate questions:

If a woman wears a skimpy dress to a sausage party and gets raped, who's to blame?  Is it
A. The woman?
B. The dress?
C. The rapist?

If my car is stolen and thief drives it through a toll booth without paying toll, who's accountable?  Is it
A. Me?
B. My car?
C. The car thief?

The answers are obvious; it's the person with the most money.
