1301  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 01, 2022, 02:11:29 PM
Some support from Chipmixer and privacy advocates would be useful in my case.  Cry

SCAM EXCHANGE: Openchange (Openchange.cash)

I don't presume to speak for ChipMixer, but I really don't know what they can do to help you.

This is a very troubling trend, and the only way we can fix it is by boycotting these draconian AML and anti-taint services.  Hit them where it hurts, in the pocket book.  They will either provide a service that people can use, or they'll go out of business.
1302  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM EXCHANGE: Openchange (Openchange.cash) on: July 01, 2022, 01:35:32 PM
It's illegal buddy.

Where is it illegal to ensure the privacy your funds?  I'm in a country where law enforcement has to prove a crime was committed before they can seize funds, and there's nothing illegal about using methods to remain private.

This isn't about ChipMixer, or any other method of obfuscating your coins.  I earn a bit of bitcoin here, and I don't want people from this site following my money around.  I use obfuscation tools to break the link between me and the money for privacy and security, and that's all.  I have no illegal funds, I have no criminal intent, but I do value my privacy.

"Hey everybody I use Chipmixer " it's easy to say that why hiding behind a username and a keyboard.
If you are right go ahead show your KYC and tell the people like a centralized exchange you used a mixing service.
I bet you my cent you won't.
Talk easy. But it's ok what will you say about a service that pays you .

WTF are you talking about?  You're the one saying that privacy is only for the criminals.  If you're so confident you have nothing to hide, why don't you post your KYC?

I will try to find a paper from last year where it is very nice described how chipmixer coins were followed in a couple of ransomware cases; this is why i specified regarding wassabi that you may need to some custom changes to it.

Wasabi is a joke, they are blacklisting UTXO's that don't meet their chain analysis requirements, so they only mix funds that don't need mixing.  What's the point of that?

Consider how many US dollars are in circulation right now, and consider how many of those US dollars have been used to pay for criminal activity.  When you spend those dollars at a grocery store, are they going to check the serial number of each dollar you spend to make sure they've not been stolen from a bank, or suspected of being used to pay for drugs?

Give me a break, this is nothing but governments trying to hold on to the power they gain by controlling the method of trade.  They don't care to stop crime, they care to preserve their power and control.

Take a look at the United States Constitution and tell me where you see that the Federal Government has the right to control currency, I dare you to find it.  The advent of bitcoin makes the US dollar and the Federal Reserve unconstitutional, and power brokers everywhere are panicking!
1303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 01, 2022, 01:48:26 AM
That bend 5 makes him desperate, I don't know how he feels when crashing in the same place. Quartararo uses a different strategy for this time, maybe he wants to improve but it's not perfect until he can't overtake Espargaro and fail. But he is still on top with 172 points, in the 2nd is Espargaro with 151 points (for 4th position)

He looked like he wanted to overtake Espargaro immediately. Maybe he realized if he was far enough behind he'd be in more trouble. But it seems their impatience made him careless. He should have been more experienced and more patient. Not getting points is very detrimental. The point difference is getting closer. When I fell the second I was actually surprised, because the place is the same. I don't know why it repeats itself, It seems he was too tilted and the tire grip was lost. The next series at Silverstone in August looks like we have a 2 week gap.
I still don't know why Quartararo got the penalty?. is will it affect the Silverstone?. this is the race where the racer is ahead of each other, when we look Espargaro didn't crash, and still continues to race. Maybe Quartararo's bike still has the same problem of tire or something else because he crashes in the same spot (bend 5), which I think still has time (2 weeks) for investigation.

Wait, what?  A penalty?  I'm only now getting around to watching the race, I should have stayed away from this thread until I finished.  I just saw Quartararo's second fall.  Second fall!  That was painful to watch.  What the hell was he doing out there anyway?  It was obvious he wasn't getting back in the race, probably still shaken from that first fall and his insistence to stay out there was only putting himself in danger.

I'm off to read about the penalty.

ETA:
The penalty was for being too aggressive when attempting to pass Aleix Espargaró, and he'll have to take a long lap at Silverstone this weekend.
1304  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed for 25$ on: June 30, 2022, 08:16:29 PM
I dont see any negative feedback of the turst page of the user except my own negative feedback!

useless forum with no rules!
Just expanding Scams!
Change the name of this forum to scammerstalkto.org! It will be more suitable!

I will not trust anyone from this piece of shet forum anymore!

Don't get your skivvies in a bunch, we're here to help.  The trouble is that there are a ton of scammers out there, and there's no way the forum can afford enough moderators to prevent them all.  Any attempt to prevent even one scam will cause a false sense of security and likely cause more people to get victimized.

I'm older than I care to admit in public, and I've been using forums for over 20 years.  I can tell you from experience that this is the most free and liberated forum I've ever visited.  Freedom isn't free, however; we all need to remain diligent to preserve it.  Whenever we have a modicum of freedom, someone will inevitably abuse it.  So, I am sorry for your loss, but at the same time it's up to you to keep yourself safe in this space.

Here are two suggestions for you going forward that will help you avoid this type of thing again, whether you choose to stay here or try to do business elsewhere:

  • Caveat Emptor, or buyer beware.
  • If it sounds too good to be true, it's probably a scam.

Good luck.
1305  Economy / Lending / Re: 100$ Loan for 24 months on: June 30, 2022, 05:30:34 PM
You're a liar and cheater, and this has become obvious now that you're looking to scam some one.  You keep saying you have collateral, and trying to make is sound like your collateral is worth $100, but it's actually worth less than $1.
US Terra is a worthless shitcoin, and all your attempts to make it sound like you have collateral just earned you a red-tag.  Good job.
Are you aware that UST went up to 10 (TEN) cents yesterday? What will the smart guy say? Very very soon UST will be $1 again. What are you writing and writing here? STOP terrorizing everyone with your red flags. Leave me alone.

What about today?  It's back down to 5¢.  So yesterday you were asking for a $100 loan with only $10 worth of collateral, and today you're asking for $100 loan with only $5 worth of collateral.   My bad, but I still don't see how that is that supposed to make you any less of a scammer.  You still get to keep your terror-filled red-tag, at least until you stop spamming the lending board with your retarded scam attempts.
1306  Economy / Lending / Re: 100$ Loan for 24 months on: June 30, 2022, 03:56:56 PM
I have a collateral (100 UST), but no one wants to take it

You're a liar and cheater, and this has become obvious now that you're looking to scam some one.  You keep saying you have collateral, and trying to make is sound like your collateral is worth $100, but it's actually worth less than $1.

What collateral is valid? Is 100 US Terra ok?

US Terra is a worthless shitcoin, and all your attempts to make it sound like you have collateral just earned you a red-tag.  Good job.
1307  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Integration with Rootstock's Sovryn on: June 30, 2022, 02:16:48 PM
and what do you gain from this partnership/integration?

I think that they want to gain some advertising by tying their name to Electrum's.
Also I think that they were hoping that Electrum team may implement that, hence gain some sort of endorsement.

Lol, this looks suspiciously like shilling to me to, and I'm glad to see I don't have a monopoly on cynicism.

Nobody interested in this subject?

This is bitcointalk.org not shitcointalk.org.  As others have said, you're not likely to get much support from this community or the Electrum development team seeing as how the majority of us are bitcoin maximalists.  If you want to integrate Electrum into your service (or vice versa) you'll need to create a fork of Electrum yourself.

I don't presume to speak for the Electrum dev team, however so you're welcome to present the request the them directly.  You can make the suggestion on their github "issues" page:

1308  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: help:RuntimeError('DataError: Forbidden key path') on: June 30, 2022, 01:44:50 PM
I suspect nc50lc is on the right track, i.e. you're using a hardware wallet and Electrum can't get the right signature from the hardware wallet.  This is likely due to having the wrong Bip39 passphrase entered into the hardware wallet, which provides Electrum a completely different set of signing keys.

If you're not using a hardware wallet, your wallet file may have been corrupted in which case you'll need to restore it from your seed phrase or a previous back up.
1309  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: sacmmer company localbitcoins deleted all support tickets on: June 30, 2022, 02:51:44 AM
My account got locked after that time. I bet they did this large scale scam two more then two times already.

I wonder if its possible to get a proof of balance. I am afraid they just delete my account and I dont have any proof and nobody beleave me.

Localbitcoins is not a scam site, what you're describing sounds like you got phished.  There are plenty of scams out there that have very similar looking URLs.

You should have a transaction listed in your wallet, you can use that transaction to prove you sent the money.  Regardless, as I said before you probably got scammed by an impostor, so it's very unlikely that you'll get your money back even if you could prove that you sent the funds to their address.

Face losing out, by not sending your investment in property and land in the Metaverse Property Game, Upland.me, San Francisco CA, 1 Property+Building

First City was San Francisco CA. Ask for details.

My offer is £25,000.00 to co-own.

DM me:

Responses in 5 hours due to time difference.
Negotiation? Yes.

What is this, exactly?  Are you trying to sell partial ownership of a virtual property in Facebooks latest scam?  And what does San Francisco have anything to do with it?  Is virtual property in a virtual rendition of San Francisco?  Is it an authentic rendering, i.e. is it surrounded by homeless street tents and human feces?

Maybe if you write a complete sentence with a subject and a predicate someone will DM you after all.
1311  Other / Archival / Re: WasabiWallet.io | Open-source, non-custodial Bitcoin Wallet for desktop on: June 29, 2022, 08:15:14 PM
why did you decide that YOU set what and how developers should do?

I'm not going to speak for Pmalek, but the fact is we all get to decide.  If a developer wants to create a "privacy wallet" that only works for people who "have nothing to hide" they're entitled to do so.  But, if nobody uses the wallet then haven't we as a community expressed our opinion about "what and how developers should do?"  Wasabi's downloads rates should make it quite clear what the community thinks about their 2.0 wallet since the news broke about Wasabigate.

Wasabi 2.0 is like trying to sell snow in Alaska.  The trouble is they need Joe Sixpack to use their service to make it more private for the institutional investors they're pursuing.  But, if they have nothing to offer Joe Sixpack, then odds are he's not going to use their service.

Personally, I don't have anything to hide, but I still don't want the government in my house looking for evidence of a crime.  Even though I'm of the opinion that I have nothing to hide, they might find something that I should have kept hidden.
1312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin testnet mining on: June 29, 2022, 07:28:39 PM
Since I want to do some testing with my hardware wallets, multisig and other stuff that generally interests me, I would need a larger amount of tBTC.

If all you're doing is testing your hardware wallets and multi-sig wallets, you really don't need any more than 0.001tBTC.  Tx fees on testnet are very low, and you can make at least 9 or more reasonable transactions with only 0.001tBTC.  The wallets don't care how much you send, and you know you can get replenished every 12 hours.  If that's still not enough, you can hit up multiple faucets every time you need more.
1313  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: June 29, 2022, 06:35:19 PM
Hey guys, would you give Royse a break please?

I find it ironic that Royse777 is still more trustworthy than the members who's red-tags remains on his trust wall.  I would have no reservations about engaging in a trade deal with him.

It's also strange that this is still an issue for some; the guy made a mistake and admitted it.  We all make mistakes, and I'm far more likely to trust those who take accountability than those who keep bashing someone after admitting his mistake.
1314  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which hardware wallet to buy? on: June 29, 2022, 04:34:37 PM
Is it safe to buy on Amazon or for the sake of £10 more just buy through the actual site?

Lol, that's a loaded question!  Save £10, and risk a supply chain attack, or spend £10 and risk Ledger leaking your personal info?  Tough call.

I think you probably made the right choice of going with the Ledger seeing as how you're into alt-coins.  I personally have been a bitcoin maximalist since about 6 months into my foray into the crypto sphere, so when a friend or family ask me to recommend a hardware wallet, I point them to the Trezor.  The Trezor model T has more alt compatibility, but is far too expensive these days, in my opinion.  The Treazor One is arguably the most practical hardware wallet on the market today.
1315  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: I am panicking on: June 29, 2022, 02:20:16 PM
This topic is closely related to something that's been occupying my mind lately.  I recently bought a ColdCard, and I've spent a few hours tinkering with it before I christen it "The Hardware Wallet."  One of the things about the ColdCard that I like (it's a Mk4, btw,) is that it has a small amount of storage that can be mounted when plugged into a computer's USB port.  The storage can be used to transfer wallet files to the PC after generating them in the cold card.  When the ColdCard is unplugged all the data that was stored in said mount is automatically erased.

What I'm wondering, is if the data is just merely erased, or is completely purged?  I doubt it's overwritten, but since it appears to be RAM is it completely unrecoverable when it loses power?  The device also erases any Bip39 passphrase that's been entered when it's logged off or disconnected from power.  I wonder how secure the device's memory features are.

As for BitcoinGirl.Club's panic attack; The Trezor and it's clones have open source hardware, which is partially why they are vulnerable to this attack vector, but the risk can largely be mitigated by adding a Bip39 passphrase to your hardware wallet.  This is especially important for the Trezor wallets, and any that use their source code.  Even if the hacker is able to steal your hardware, and break into it to extract your seed phrase, there's no way for him to get to your funds if they are locked behind a strong passphrase.  I certainly wouldn't consider this a cure, more like buying you a little bit of extra time to create a new seed and transfer all the funds.

I use passphrases on all my hardware wallets now, even if they are not vulnerable to the attack vector demonstrated in that video.
1316  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Coldcard on: June 28, 2022, 08:12:16 PM
Do you know how the testnet mode does actually work?

I've used it to create, sign, send, and receive transactions from a test-net wallet, so I do know that it does indeed work.

Does it create a new seed that is shown to you or does it create a testnet wallet based on your normal seed?

No, it doesn't need to create a new seed, it'll create a test-net wallet with whatever seed you have loaded in your ColdCard.  It's worth noting that any Bip39 passphrases you load in your ColdCard will generate new test-net wallets, just like the ColdCard would for main-net.

If I select testnet it seems that nothing happens to my device  Huh

Other than the checkmark indicating that your ColdCard is in test-net mode, there won't be any changes to the device.  It functions just like it would normally.  To use test-net you'll need to export a wallet for the preferred client you want to use.  I use Electrum, so I exported an Electrum wallet from the ColdCard, and used Electrum Testnet client.  You must use the test-net client, Electrum's main-net client will not open a test-net wallet file, you'll get a warning.

On Windows go to Start Menu> Electrum> Electrum Testnet.

On Linux, the easiest way (in my opinion) is to start it from the command line:
Code:
$ electrum --testnet

I would say that Coldcard documentation is probably outdated, and they need to have separate page for mk4, especially if it has new functions like NFC.

Agreed, the documentation does in fact seem outdated.  Many of the scrolling screen gifs show options/screens that I don't see on my Mk4.  It would be nice to have a separate documentation section for the different versions just to eliminate any ambiguity.

I think that even ledger and Trezor hardware wallets support testnet.
You can add this to ledger with separate app and in trezor just by enabling testnet in Trezor Suite.

I don't know about Ledger, but the Trezor works just like the KeepKey.  There's no specific setting on the hardware itself that sets the device into test-net mode, it all happens on the client side.  I played with this a bit yesterday, and I was able to just plug in my Trezor, start up Electrum Testnet, and the Trezor paired up and I was able to create a new test-net wallet.  I didn't make any transactions, but I suspect it would work just like it does on main-net.
1317  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Considering doing OTC BTC/CASH side hustle? Input? on: June 28, 2022, 05:11:58 PM
Is 15% commission either way a good starting point?

I think 15% is too much.  The more you ask the less likely you are to attract legitimate traders, and more likely you are to attract scammers.  Scammers pretend like they're okay with your rates to use your own greed against you.

Any gotchyas ?

Yep! $5 wrenches.

Learning resources? Alread been through the 'Tube.

Yes, look into Bisq.  It's a peer to peer exchange that often has face to face offers in various locations around the United States.  There have been a couple of offers in my area, but I've never taken advantage of them.  Bisq's rates are very fair, and there you can see what margins others are asking.  That will give you a better idea of what the market will bear.

In my minds eye it's like buy 100oz silver off my neighbor over spot. Who cares? Well maybe someone does. Is BTC considered "money" to Jonny law?

BTC is considered an asset by the IRS, and like any other asset they don't care if you buy it for more than it's appraised value.  But, they most certainly do care if you sell it for more than you paid for it.  If you do sell for a profit you'll have to pay taxes on the capitol gains.  If you sell an asset for less than you paid for it, you can claim the difference as a loss (deduction,) to reduce your tax burden.

Whilst the football is off (the PL) I’m always looking for other things I might enjoy to bet on. There isn’t much else better than Wimbledon Grand Slam. In my opinion, the most prestigious of all the major tournaments. British Summer can always let us down with a bit of rain but I expect some great tennis to be played.

Who’s your money on?

May I direct you here guys - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5403509.0
Some free bets for the winners, LFG !

I can't even figure how tennis is scored, let alone risk a wager on it, lol.  I was thinking England would do much better in the EUFA Nations League, but they haven't been as prolific as I expected.  I wagered some on the NBA finals, but other than Premier League soccer and NFL football I tend to get lost when it comes to gambling.

My other passion is motorcycling, so I do keep abreast of MotoGP racing, but sportsbet.io doesn't have any market for that.
1319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 28, 2022, 03:24:30 PM
I suppose it is officially "Emirates Stadium."  I've never been there, but isn't still in the neighborhood of Highbury?
Yeah, Arsenal's current stadium is The Emirates Stadium. What i know is that Arsenal relocated from Highbury stadium to their current stadium, what i do not know is if The Emirates Stadium is still in the neighborhood of Highbury, as i am not from England, neither have i been there myself. Maybe someone who is an indigen, or lives around the area can tell us.

I get the feeling that most of the Brits that hang out here are LFC fans, lol.  I see Arsenal getting some love, but I figure it's mostly from foreigners like me.

It's still good to see an American moving to the PL, and I hope he can contribute.
Yeah, very good, it seems you're an American? You are happy for your countryman, and that is a good thing to see; i am pretty sure he will contribute when called upon, as he is very experienced and a thorough professional too.

Guilty as charged.  I do get excited when I see an American playing in the most prestigious soccer league in the world.  And on my favorite team makes it even better.  Soccer is one of my favorite sports, but it doesn't get nearly as much attraction in the US as American football, baseball, or basketball.  So, to see a fellow American take it to the top tier is pretty darn cool.
1320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: June 28, 2022, 02:58:51 PM
Is 10 player league official? I will vote for what the majority wants. If it is 10, I am with 10. It might be easier for newbies like me.

I'm no expert at fantasy football (last year was the first time I had played since the early/mid aughts,) but it stands to reason that the more teams, the more difficult it is to pick up a gem.  Whether it's during the draft off the waivers, there are going to be fewer opportunities to find a stand out player.

+1

It looks like the majority is in favor of sticking with the 10 teams we currently have, the following voted for 10:

DireWolfM14
wheelz1200
ChiBitCTy
suchmoon
Hueristic
South Park
bbc.reporter

That's 7 votes for 10, which settles that question.

I would also like to have at least 2 IR spots (i think that's the default setting in Yahoo), 1 was not ideal last year. By the way, the NFL has made some changes in that regard:

Agreed lets add this to the list.
That would be great, having only 1 IR spot was a nightmare last year, so having 2 IR spots will reduce the impact of having lots of players on IR, something which happened to both of us last year.

I'm good with that, I like the idea of having two IR spots.

Have we discussed trade vetoes yet, and do we really want them? We had to wait two days for trades to get approved on ESPN last year (review period). I'm aware we had a few of those completed within the league, but the fact that we had to wait discouraged me from proposing/pursuing trades on more than one occasion. How about we get rid of it completely? Once a trade offer is accepted, it's auto-confirmed...there is no need to wait, cast votes, etc. I understand the risk of collusion, and trades made in bad faith could really hurt the league, it's just the waiting period i find super annoying...Thoughts?
I think last year the rule made sense, not because of the risk of collusion but because we had 3 newbies playing in the league, myself included, so this was a way to protect us from doing terrible trades, but now everyone got some experience so I think we could do without that rule, but those are my thoughts lets see what the rest of the league members think about it.

I guess the whole trade veto thing makes sense if we were playing with a bunch of anonymous strangers on the internet, but I'd like to think we're past that, lol.  This is a friendly league, and I don't see collusion becoming an issue.  I'm good with instant trades.
