2262  Economy / Economics / Re: Milestone reached: Market cap > 100M USD on: August 05, 2012, 01:04:03 AM
So I think hedge funds might start to get interested when the market cap is $1 billion. Here's why....that would let a fund take a $5 Million position and still only have 0.5% stake. Enough money to be interesting without risking obliterating the market when they want to exit the position.

The milestone may be short lived
2263  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin prices would stabilize around $10 or $15. on: August 04, 2012, 07:28:38 PM
Like the last time it was very stable around $5. It helps a lot with mental conversion math.

So about 60 cents to do this?
I cannot produce a lot using a 6530D. Right now CPU mining.
2270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [10 LTC bounty] Making cgminer mine litecoin using Radeon 6530D in a A6 APU on: August 03, 2012, 02:51:49 AM
CGMINER 2.6.1 is a great software for mining litecoin on GPUs. Thanks a bunch ckolivas!
But I am unable to use cgminer with the on-chip Radeon 6430D GPU for litecoin mining.
I have a A6 APU. cgminer can use the on-chip GPU for bitcoin mining at 40MH/s.

The driver version is fglrx_8.961-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb and AMD-APP-SDK-v2.6-lnx64.tgz in Ubuntu 11.

This is the error message.

[2012-08-02 21:50:13] Error -5: Enqueueing kernel onto command queue. (clEnqueueNDRangeKernel)
[2012-08-02 21:50:13] GPU 0 failure, disabling!

Oh so you mean, it's an end to itself. This could get dirty when the bitcoin generation rate halves.
2272  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Daily Speculation Poll] :: due for a price correction? on: August 01, 2012, 10:27:57 AM
he's also the Bear who said he would take down the Bear if we got over $8.

Bitcoin up, up and away!

I smell a correction over the weekend!  Kiss
2273  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HACK Alert!!!!!! BTC-E BTC/USD has record volume today !!!!!!!!! on: July 31, 2012, 02:46:30 PM
what about a fat finger trade? Huh

Новости / Trade is stopped

16:04 31.07.12 from support

Dear users of the Exchange Btc-e.com

The exchange is not going to close. We will refund all losses from our reserves.

Neither the servers nor the database were compromised. There were no SQL injections.

At 04:07 MSK (GMT+4) our LR API Secret Key was compromised. It's 16 uppercase, lowercase letters and digits. They may have bruteforced it for long.

Using the key the hacker imitated LR deposits from many accounts and bought up Bitcoins, Namecoins and Litecoins.

We lost our daily volume, approx. 4500 BTC. The attacker couldn't withdraw more
as most BTC were distributed over several offline wallets.

At 10:30 we restored the database to the state it was at 04:00, right before the attack. All trades after 4:00 are reverted.

People who attempted withdrawals before 04:00 MSK will get their funds withdrawn later today.

For people who deposited BTC, LTC and NMC after 04:00 MSK the funds will be put to their balances before market opens.
We are working on the scripts for this.

If you deposited USD after 04:00 MSK you should send us your login, amount and payment system used by email or PM.

Our plan:

1. The trade will be disabled until we restore the balances to the point before market crash.

2. After that, the trade and deposit/withdrawal will be back on, approx. within 1-2 days.

2275  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: btce usb has record volume today! on: July 31, 2012, 01:14:24 AM
All the litecoins were bought up as well, up to 0.5$/LTC (which is a rough 8x increase)

Ok, this must be a hack:

A: Someone got access to some wealthy account and bought all the BTC he could get in order to withdraw it to himself
B: Someone hacked the trading system and buys BTC with "infinite" USD supply to withdraw all bitcoins to himself
C: Some Bot has fucked up big time
D: BTCe.com has some internal problems with their system and will reset everything tomorrow
E: Some chronically underpaid btce.com employee buys his ticket for neverending holidays on luxury island right now, holiday starting: tomorrow
F: ..?

In any case, if you sell all your USD for BTC now, they will likely not be able to pay you out tomorrow Wink

i had 1BTC in BTC-e cuz I've recently trying trading LTC

now i have 47$ Cheesy

oh and its back to normal... time to buy some bitcoin!

please no rollback Cheesy

One LTC = 0.5USD at btc-e

I think someone has infiltrated btc-e server.
