I have a 5750 that gets 170+/- Mh/s on pci-e 2.0. You can pick up a molex to 6pin plug that will provide the power just fine.
Thanks!!! thats what I needed to know

Thanks Gox! Grin Here's My address: 15GTSiW889sP5dDUGJsV3V4E2EKFkSLuSv

BTW: I found a "mining farm" here on the forums which will do the mining for me! Grin

Maybe for someone with Such Low Hashing Power As Me That's What I Should Do!

Good luck mate. I sent it back.
2207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 7970 undervolting on: August 15, 2012, 01:25:21 AM
I'll try this one under Ubuntu Linux 12.04 64 bits:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/amdovdrvctrl/

Is ADL able to undervolt in Linux? I think CGMINER uses ADL, and it doesn't work for me in Linux. What works for me is flashing a 7950 BIOS to a 7970 card. Reduces the voltage to 1.03V or so. I would be very interested in the undervolting results using amdovdrvctrl on Tahiti chips.

Ok - I've Been with btcmine.com(score based) for 36 hours now. I'll see how it goes... I know score based works differently. I'm just not sure how
"trustworthy" this pool is. But it can't hurt to try - Right? PS: if anyone knows of a good score system calculator... Please Give Me The Link. Thanks.

Hey thanks for the donation, but I want to return it back to you since you are starting your mining op. Can you post a receiving address?

Ok I've Tried Everything ( Short of Selling My Liver on E-Bay) But Nothing Seems To Work. I have a decent enough gpu (Considering I'm From South Africa) That Gives Me 95 - 100 Mhash/s average. I've been to Several Pools (Which I wanna stop doing because I don't wanna be labeled a "pool hopper") But I'm Just Not getting any coins!!! Huh I've Read Several Posts, Saw Several screen-Shots Of "other miners" with the same mhash/s rate as
Me! And They Seem To Be Getting at Least 2-3 coins a day! (that's bitCOINS not bitCENTS) So? what Is The Big Secret Somebody anybody please help
Me Out! Point Me To The Right Pool, Give Me Advise, ANYTHING. I Would Really Like To Be a Sucsesfull Miner. Smiley Thanks In Advance. If And When I Can I will thank the one(s) who helped me the right way! (donation)  Grin
Try www.deepbit.net and download GUIMINER for windows.
2214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt Chains are the future on: August 13, 2012, 06:12:28 AM
I think free market may choose currencies with Proof of Work that can be done on CPU /GPU / FPGA based computers, because minor tweaking in the crypto algorithm will not entail new hardware (read ASIC) investments and would not make a whole generation of devices worthless.

Remind me again why the free market that determines which currency to use gives one iota to whether or not a whole generation of other people's devices are made worthless?
Free market likes competition. Hardening (ASIC) lowers competition and thus innovation IMO.

The 6950 (unlocked shaders by soldering a wire) I have on my second gameing puter only likes to play BF3 @ 900 core clock & 800 or higher mem clock,no overvolt.

Did you solder the wire  to enable writing to the BIOS EPROM? Or is there a new hack that I am not aware of?
2216  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: IS MINING REALLY WORTH IT on: August 13, 2012, 02:38:27 AM
GPU mining Profitability decreasing with such high difficulty rise.  It is 2,190,866 now!!

Not sure if i agree. A few months ago i was making 2 btc per day but price was 4-5. Now making about 1 btc per day yet price is almost 12. Things improved actually.
I see what you mean. I was counting BTC/day with the same equipment.

I think it will depend on price of bit coin-USD to a large extent.

uhhh... If you yank out a SSD it will not cause flames or sparks... it will shut down your PC though....

my 2 year old son LOVES to yank shit out my my open case PC while it's running..... so far he's pulled the cables on SSD drives.. PCI-E/molex adapters and fans..... PC only shuts down.... still works fine Tongue

why sould it shut down the pc? sata (assumption) is hotplug.
The OS gets confused if the ssd was also the boot drive
