Flip your cable my dude

It's been a few months since I tinkered with the code and flashed my Jalapeno so your suggestion was a good one, but flipping the cable did nothing as I had it plugged in properly. Has anybody else had a similar experience? It's maddening not being able to interface with the Jalapeno.
I had this issue intermittently on one of my Jala. Happened after reflashing. Power cycling few times usually fixed it for that power on period.

Here's How I did it:

a) Buy Copper VGA RAM Heatsinks. Usually ships in sets of 8, so 2 packs per h-board.

a.1) I bought these:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/161102078777?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

b) Affix each piece of VGA RAM Heatsink to the back of each BitFury chip on the H-Board. The RAM heatsinks come with thermal adhesives affixed.

c) Cut a 2 inch strip of DDR3 / DDR2 RAM heatskink for cooling the regulator area. Affix the heatsink to the back of board near the regulator with either thermally conductive glue or use some kind of thermal paste and small dabs of superglue / epoxy at the edges

d) Pencil mod the board until voltage reaches 0.8V. One of my boards is at 0.8V another at 0.84V. I would say 0.85V is the max after which either the regulator will shut down or the hash rate will drop dramatically.

e) Cool the boards with 120mm or bigger cooling fans.

f) Play around with best.cnf (I first changed of all the chip speeds to 54, and measured nonce rate after 10mins of hashing, then changed to 55 and again measured nonce rates. Compared the differences on a excel spreadsheet, and chose 54 or 55 depending on which produced higher hash rates for the chip.)

g) I Use only one pool for mining

h) renice the miner proxy process to -14 or lower

Code:
 2100 root        6 -14 33196 18864  4064 R 81.0  3.8 36h27:30 python ./mining_proxy.py -o us3.eclipsemc.com -p 3333 -cu XXXXXXXXXXX -cp XXXX -gp 8332 -v
h.1) I use htop to do it
h.1.1) sudo apt-get install htop
h.1.2) pi@bitfury / $ sudo htop
h.1.3) Press F7 repeatedly to reduce nice.

I just spent a couple of hours fine tuning and I still get the best hash rate letting auto tune take care of everything.   I am getting 440 to 450 noncerate on a full rig with my workers set to a diff of 64.
Autotune is the best for most cases. These chips are very interesting physically, they have certain pareto-optimal points of operation which includes Voltage, Temperature, and Probably some other random events Wink

Why is the FTC or KS AG office not going after BFL? BFL and its key people either have great contacts or have been extremely lucky.

Okay take a look at this link. Kansas City AG has contacted the Johnson County (KCMO) DA office wrt BFL. Wink

Shit! Shit! Shit!!! Angry   Hey DAVE!!!!

I just powered up with the Yellow & Black reversed and smoked the mother board, How screwed am I? How much is this going to cost me for a new motherboard? Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Never let the software guy touch hardware!

I have seen unused m-boards in the goods section as well as on ebay. Might be faster to get you up and running again.

I want to wait to hear from Dave before i make any hasty decissions.

Did you buy the whole 16 Hcards  400GHz kit?

Is there a way to set all chips aIfDSo 55 at once or do i have to do 1 chip at a time?
You can use vim, and column mode. If you are not familiar with vim, then you are better off with downloading the file to your computer with WinSCP, modify it in some more user friendly GUI editor (I like Geany myself), and upload it back with WinSCP.
some quick vim commands for best.cnf will change all lines

Replace the A with a
:%s/\tA/\ta/g

change speed from 57 to 56

So does one share of 100TH account for potentially 400MH/s? Will this mine grow beyond 200TH? I bought some shares late in the game and just wanted to gauge if it would be worthwhile to hold it for the long term.

This mine will NOT grow beyond 200TH, these are essentially PMBs. If you bought at IPO, you'll get your ROI but if you're buying now, you're only giving your money away. IPO investors basically paid for R&D of Bitfury's "shovel"; in turn, they get a discounted "shovel" at a later date.

Unless you are one of the founders, you have absolutely no idea what the end-goal of the project is. It's up to the founders to motion for altering the parameters just as they switched the hashing power from 100-200TH at one point they can choose to alter the project goals with share holder approval at any time.
Can one of the founders please comment on the above? It would make a difference between holding my shares or selling it now.

I think, by looking at the weekly charts, there should be movement next week.

0.0ghash?
I am not shipping H-boards (the boards with the bitfury ASIC). I am only shipping the M-board (it can accept upto 16 25GH/s H-boards), raspberry Pi, SD card and PCIE power cables.  It needs H-boards that can be obtained from bitfury to start mining.
