Theymos was thinking to create a different type of account when you create account for a bounty hunters and regular members. There was something mentioned for the bounty managers as well. I'll find it and i'll post ti.
OMG, you are also wearing this avatar.. now I really have to look for who is posting..

That only means we need small update in forum rules that will include scam somehow.
This is almost impossible, the mods have complete different responsibilities, they don't have the time to investigate scams. All that will only mean that there should be hired new mods which will deal only with scams. On the other hand to prove something as scam is not that easy. You need to collect strong evidence against that person/project to be able to mark it as scam. Go browse a bit in Reputation and you will find 1000 people complain of being tagged based on assumption without strong evidence, of course it's better to protect the newbies but it's also not good to ruin someone's account based only on assumptions. The scam prevention is very complicated case that cannot be covered by the rules, that's what I think.

|
Let me put this simpel. You can't get a scammer banned if he does not break any forum rules. No point to report scammers to the moderators because it's not their work to investigate and ban them. There is a dedicated section for those cases : Scam Accusation. This is the place where you need to open a thread and get the scammer tagged. That's all you can do.
If the scammer is posting some suspicious links then you can report him to the mods /he can even get banned for this/ but that's all.

Can we implement a deactivate button for the mini bump? For example I dont want to bump this thread when I post a comment if I'm able to deactivate my bumping feature and post as a newbie it would be perfect. It can be restricted to one nonbumping post per 24 hours or something.

Let me bump this thread with not so good news for the owners of Intel processors. NetCAT: New Attack Lets Hackers Remotely Steal Data From Intel CPUsUnlike previous side-channel vulnerabilities disclosed in Intel CPUs, researchers have discovered a new flaw that can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring an attacker to have physical access or any malware installed on a targeted computer. Dubbed NetCAT, short for Network Cache ATtack, the new network-based side-channel vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to sniff out sensitive data, such as someone's SSH password, from Intel's CPU cache. And here is the solution from Intel: In its advisory, Intel has acknowledged the issue and recommended users to either completely disable DDIO or at least RDMA to make such attacks more difficult, or otherwise suggested to limit direct access to the servers from untrusted networks. For more info check the source publication.

No need to spam-bump this thread any more. Thanks to the paid bumping services now we have new rules so no matter what you do you won't be on the first pages, ever. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5183553.0This is the one and only bump you gonna get. Bye.

if I understand it correctly I should be careful where I post if I disclose a spam or scam so I don't unintentionally bump their topic. That was my first thought too. One could argue that was always the case, except that my post now has a much higher bumping power. It would be nice to be able to turn that off for certain posts. Or I may need to use my LoyceMobile or even LoyceBot for certain posts. Damn, I was thinking the same, if we can switch off the bumping option and post only comments as "newbie" or I have to create an alt for this (I hope not). BTW the Bounty section also came to my mind as there is also a bumping competition, maybe it will be added too.

Hehe nice thread. I thought that we moved on from the merit subject months ago. /jk
Merit gave me what I wanted the most, my Avatar (I still get personal messages from time to time to take in away but that's another story). When it was introduced I had no idea what impact will have on the forum. I was just sure that I probably won't get enough merit to reach Full Member in a year (I was Member when the merit system was implemented), but I didn't focus on that. When you see someone like Nullius you know that you cannot compare to his knowledge, humor, charisma so merit is not something for you. So I kept posting like I did before and kept exploring the more and more about the forum, bitcoin and blockchain. I always try to be helpful no matter if it is appreciated or not, it's just the way some people are. So thanks to this I got some merit and manage to rank up to Full member. Since then, the merit is just something I can distribute to the others. I like when I get some, (sure everyone is feeling the same) but after I got the needed for Legendary, I see no point in getting more, maybe only to distribute it to the others (it's good to be a merit source, tho). What I prefer is to make this forum a better(safer) place for the newbies and help the mass adoption. This is something you should focus on. I'm not a full-time programmer, I can't really be helpful on the technical battlefield, but what i can do and like is to fight those who try to go around the rules. That's what I hate and dedicated quite of my time to catch those. So the merit is just a side effect of what you do for the forum.

Finally a solution to this problem. Thank you theymos. Looks a bit complicated at first but if I understand it correctly I should be careful where I post if I disclose a spam or scam so I don't unintentionally bump their topic. Sometimes I post just to follow whats happening on the thread. Anyway I'm closing my other thread.

Oh such a nice thread, my RP 4B 4gb is on its way to me so when it comes (and hopefully I'll have enough time to play with it) I'll post some stats as well. Waiting to get FTTH sometime by the end of the month, then I can give real values.
I have some old laptops laying around - i3,i5, maybe I can make a comparison between them.

Back to the giveaway. 24 hours have passed and I got no answer from kenzawak. That means that we will roll again. This time the raffle will follow the LoyceV's suggestion (see the quote below) and take into account the last two digits of the hash as a winning number. Target block : 594220 good luck everyone. @LoyceV. You know, that was the first time for me to host a raffle, so I got in contact with krogothmanhattan to ask for tips so I used his way of picking up the winner. You pick the last digit(s) from the hash, can be a single digit or in case there are more you pick the last one. I think krogothmanhattan usually uses all characters: 0-9 and a-f. That gives 16 possibilities for 1 digit. For what you're doing, the problem is that there's not always 2 numbers in the last 5 characters. A simple fix would be to omit the 5 character limit, and use as many characters as you need to get 2 numbers. So if I take block 575970 for example: hash 00000000000000000010f46e3c11d28bd45958bb485fdaffad4de9dcadefff1c would mean "fff1c" and thus a "1" as winner in your system. I suggest to use the whole hash, and have "91" (00000000000000000010f46e3c11d28bd45958bb485fdaffad4de 9dcadefff 1c) as winner.

Conclusion, The account was hacked a few mounts ago and it looks like there is no way the owner to prove his ownership as the only ETH posted address was edited according to DarkStar_. I'll sent a PM anyway. Admin can see all edited versions of a post, and I would expect Cryptios to have the same access. If I get no answer from the winner until tomorrow which I'm sure I won't , for the new raffle we gonna use your way of choosing the winner. I talked to ChiBitCTy and we agreed to wait until tomorrow
