1341  Other / Meta / Re: {LIST}of the Merit Sources asking for more smerit. New Round. on: May 12, 2020, 07:48:27 AM
Indeed, I don't know that he'll run it again in May.  But when 6 months from the last run comes up I'm going to nag him to do it. Tongue  I got seriously gimped in the last update because I'd been inactive for a while. Smiley

Soon it's middle of May Sad I'm again on 0 and I'm not a merti source yet... ;(

Maybe we can have another merit + .... could be suitable....

I think we can use some more.

I think too... let's hope..
1342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0.50 BTC reward for a valid password. on: May 12, 2020, 06:49:40 AM
Things start to be more interesting, I even contacted theymos to edit the post where the OP posted the satoshidisk link with the .dat file for sale, with the concern that someone might buy it for 0.1BTC and with the password get access to the funds and he did it.

1343  Economy / Reputation / Re: [ChipMixer] Assistant(s) to the Campaign Manager - Urgent meeting on: May 11, 2020, 08:57:22 PM
Wait, what??
~snip~
Sorry for the confusion. This had nothing to do with the campaign itself. Just a good old stab at situational humor with a dash of great sitcom nostalgia.

The sarcasm was strong in this one, but sarcasm is easily lost across languages.
I'm like a sarcastic old dude with a public park bench. Things wander into my line of sight and I make jokes  Tongue

I suspected something like this because I have read some of your posts before, and this post didn't fit to my perception of you, that's why I thought it could be something I'm missing and yet i found the thread which probably inspired you.
Sadly i missed all the small hints that you left.
1344  Economy / Reputation / Re: [ChipMixer] Assistant(s) to the Campaign Manager - Urgent meeting on: May 11, 2020, 01:55:27 PM
Wait, what??
I hope this is not inspired of our removal with hugeblack.
If it's sarcasm or joke, than I really missed it for sure and only the language barrier is to blame, then you can ignore that post.
I'll just throw some personal thought and explanations here.

I was removed due to too many participants already posting in those sections where I was active. My threads are probably boring for some people and I do agree with that. I make project based on my personal interest that are not so Bitcoin related rather than just, useful or useless stats for someone.
My both Scandinavian and Bulgarian Local sections are dead, so no exposure there either.

I didn't announced the reason of removal publicly because it's not my business to announce campaign changes in DS_ thread. At least this is how I feel it should be done.
I waited until he came out with info and then I edited my post with the reasons.
I tried to explains to everyone who PMed me the situation.

I don't think DS_ lost the grip on how to choose participants, I don't know why he removed hugeblack, he is a great guy, we had some interactions before but I guess is more strategic removal, if the campaign needs a better exposure in other sections, but  I can only speculate.

DS_ is one of the people I tend to trust, he took out money from his own pocket to pay to the participants a few months ago even tho it was unsure if the campaign will continue. For acts like this people have my respect. Regarding the Turkish question my observation is that the accusations against him have no solid ground. He kept Kalemder on the campaign even when he had a negative feedback, another respectful act.

I hate all the drama and politics in the forum , I normally don't like the get involved in those drama threads but here I'm choosing the DS_ side and if you think that I'm doing this only to get back to the campaign, you are very wrong.

Edit:@PO you should have added this link .
I wans't aware of it, anyway I'll keep my post!
1345  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Paper wallet or Hardware wallet on: May 11, 2020, 09:07:47 AM
What I did, I bought a Hardware wallet, I don't own a lot of crypto but it's always better to have a HW instead of paper wallet.

On the other side I'm planning to make a backup of my staked address on a metal plate.
here some pictures of the test drive. Have to find a nice metal plate and I'm good to go Smiley

I lost my private key for address above. I believe no one ever can verifying that.
so here's my new one :

No longer use this address, since my paper private key's lost. I believe no one could deal with that address.

The idea of stacking an address is to keep it save and accessible so when needed to be able to prove that  you are the owner. Now you have lost twice the access, how we can be sure that you are the one to own the account and not a hacker? He can just say that he lost control and avoid being tagged, which gives him enough time to scam someone. This is just example, I'm not referring directly to you, but there are some concerns.

What I can suggest, stake not one but 2-3 addresses at once and keep the private keys separately, NEVER ONLINE! In case you loose one, you still have one or two more to go.
Just a tip.

1349  Other / Meta / Re: REVOLUTION of bitcointalk.org V on: May 09, 2020, 09:46:25 PM
What is the point of the trust if everyone is trusting each other?
All you gonna achieve is gather more negative energy and probably get banned at the end.
You can't make revolution in a place like that with that structure . The admin is the Supreme Leader he makes the decisions, you can't change that.
1350  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: May 09, 2020, 08:03:05 AM
Thanks for the great time together guys, and thanks to DS_ and CM for this great opportunity to be part of it. Good luck to the new participants Smiley
I'll keep my sig for a while (for free) if DS_ doesn't mind.

Edit from 10.05
Probably nobody will read this but anyway I feel obligated to explain why I didn't post anything about my removal.
I got a PM from DarkStar_ regarding my removal and prefer to keep it private until DS_ decided to announce it. This is what I felt it was right to do.
This is his thread, his campaign so I cannot overthrow him and make announcements regarding changes in his campaign.
The reason of the removal is that too many active members in the sections where I'm mostly active so i draw the short straw. That's all.

Good work guys, so many bitcoins lost already, now 150 are back in business. Congratulations to the OP, this is a life changer, lets see if he has access to the coins first.

1352  Other / Meta / Re: Can we delete our accounts here? on: May 09, 2020, 05:32:20 AM
Hi everyone, I am a new user so I don't know much about here. But one thing I noticed here is there's no option to delete our own accounts (sorry if there is). I feel like there should be an option for us to do the same. And with deletion of our accounts should delete our posts and threads.

There are many scammers who might benefit from it but those are exceptions and it would also provide a opportunity for people loving a kind of privacy Cheesy like for those who are banned permanently, wouldn't they be able to delete their accounts and delete their thousands of posts instead of letting people know their stuffs even when they are banned?!

No, you can't. If you use the search engine you will find a lot of similar questions.
Sometimes the mods nuke a profile, then all of the posts and threads get deleted, but this applies only for Newbies.
Leaving evidence of scamming is important, or just keep good posts from which others can benefit is why not everyone get nuked.
You can delete all of your posts (if possible), edit the threads to "." and then you can lock your account > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5244736.msg54334643#msg54334643

I was doing this for a while but because of lack of time I'll post it here if someone can take over.

Investigating one of the accont&meritselling services at https://www.fiverr.com/crypto_ico_/supply-merits-for-your-bitcointalk-and-member-rank-accounts?ref_ctx_id=62211cac-3de0-4290-9a52-7df3a630d33e

For now I found a few suspect :
https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?id=1205947 claiming that the service is good. have 2 posts. Posted ANN thread (locked).

https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?id=2660733 shared a picture of account merited by this user : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=302808 (pretty sure they are selling merit for 15$)

Another proof of address which I have to trace.

The search of it reveals a lot of shitty business >
See here the results (bittrex address, probably useless)

I do not mention profile names, so please let's keep it that way.
There is a lot more work to be done but.. time...
If anyone have the time to continue the investigation I'll be very happy. I have no time lately.
1354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0.50 BTC reward for a valid password. on: May 08, 2020, 11:47:31 AM
You seem to be right. I remembered how it all began, and now I understand what is happening and who may have a password. here is my old topic
https://cryptotalk.org/topic/24342-%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%B5%D1%80%D1%8F-150-%D0%B1%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%B8%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%B2-%D0%B8-%D1%87%D1%82%D0%BE-%D1%8F-%D1%87%D1%83%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B2%D1%83%D1%8E/

It's 14 pages of comments and I don't think I can find the info you are talking about. What you say here is that someone else have the password, is that right? But even if he has the password he does not have the wallet.dat file so the password is useless.
There is no logic, someone to move the BCH but not the BTC, don't you think? The BTC cost apprx. 1.4M$ (even more on the time the bch was moved) compared to that the BCH are only 38k$ at today's rate.
If you have not moved the BCH, someone else have either the private key / the seed, the wallet.dat and your password.
Strange.
1355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 65% of Global Bitcoin Hashrate Concentrated in China on: May 08, 2020, 09:50:36 AM
If they get closed in some way all it will happen is that the hashrate will drop then the difficultly will be readjusted and the network will be a bit more decentralized. There will be impact on the price for sure, but after some time it will stabilize again.
This is how I see it if such thing happens.

1357  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Applications] Application help your mental health on: May 08, 2020, 07:37:31 AM
I do not suggest to install any of those apps on a phone used for 2FA or where you have a wallet with crypto on it. Do no install more than you need and trust. There are other methods to reduce the stress and keep your mental health in a good shape, read books for example.
1358  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images on: May 08, 2020, 07:33:24 AM

Congrats for getting your first merits Wink. Now you can upload images to your topic without spending $34. As you see, it's not really difficult to get 1 merit.

Come to think of it, $34 is definitely steep. I remembered when it used to be around like 20 dollars?

That price alone is sufficient to buy you a year of web hosting.

The price is fixed - 0,00368601, what changes is the value of bitcoin. When the bitcoin was 6800 USD a few weeks ago the price was 25$, now it's 34$ but 1BTC is still 1BTC Wink
Theymos often makes some corrections when there are big price fluctuations, so it's just a matter of time to be back at 25$.
1359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0.50 BTC reward for a valid password. on: May 07, 2020, 10:06:46 AM

I do not understand. I have a password that is not found. All spammers will be excluded without reward. I have a bitcoin wallet !!! I increase the reward to 1 BTC

I have a password ~#5cltEkfy/5z it does not work! I want to check every character. How to do it right?

2 people are denied rewards due to spam, I will not pay for empty messages.

I don't really care about your reward.
Anyway, no answer to the question who moved the BCH? You don't want to reveal information regarding the real owner of the wallet so I assume it was traded.
Who had access to the wallet in 2017?? Who are "they"?
You have to understand you cannot come here with a wallet filled with 1.4M USD and expect people to not be specious for all you say. A crime is not a joke.
