You've to make it a matter of necessity to become active here if you were to start ranking up. Nobody feeds a dead horse. I checked your post history and found out that there's a lacuna somewhere there. Such gap could've cost you some merits. Again, make your posts to be constructive and contributory to discussions. If I would indulge you, kindly desist from one liner posts also.
2302  Economy / Speculation / Re: Every signal is a speculation on: October 08, 2022, 07:16:17 PM
Analysis are just predictions.

Once the bear market gets over, definitely the price will jump to the sky, so accordingly invest.
This is another speculation or prediction Grin... I only can say after halving is when the bull start to happen.
For emphasis, what you said there also is a speculation 🤔. The bottom line is that this industry is speculative in nature and that's why some people erroneously say it's akin to gambling (it's not, actually). I guess the speculative nature stems from the fact that nobody knows tomorrow. The crypto industry is based on what happens in the future/tomorrow, we only can speculate on where price will be going. No one is certain what happens next. If anyone knew of certitude where price will be headed to that person will be made for life. Again, due to the uncertainty in this speculative industry, investors are warned ahead to only invest what they can afford to lose.
2303  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it best to have a personal trading strategy? on: October 08, 2022, 05:49:30 PM
I'm seeking to know if having a personal trading strategy has been able to enhance your trading profitablity and if you really keep to a particular strategy that worked for you even when it seems it's failing you later on and for how long do you stick to this strategy?
But of course, everyone has different temperament and that shows without any hindrance during trading. Each to their own and that's why it's highly advisable for every trader to develop their own trading plan. Look at this scenario, if all traders were to use the same pattern or even follow a particular trade signal, trust me there are still some that won't make the same level of profit from it as others. I'm talking of the same trade signal handed over to different traders. With time, I've learnt not to use default settings of any indicator I fancy. I must tweak and find my own setting. So far so good, I rely most times on my trading plan and if I've to take anybody's call it must align with mine. Otherwise, I stick to mine.
2304  Other / Meta / Re: Does Forum Advertising Considered as a Formal Work? on: October 08, 2022, 04:35:36 PM
Hi,

As you can see, I'm still a newbie, been with here since last 2020 and I ended up making an account.
I don't know what you do offline in real life and outside this forum but you seem to me a newbie who is busy and reluctant to post here. An account that was registered in 2021 would've had more posts and activities if they were ambitious to be here. Unfortunately, you've just 4 posts. May be it's time to roll the sleeves and work it out.

Quote
And I was curious on somethings going around here like on the Marketplace>Services.
Would it be considered as formal work even though I think it's more like freelancing? I mean, in formality can you include that on your Resume or CV?
I bet your prospective employer may not have even heard about this forum, to start with. Let alone include it in your CV. Besides, this isn't even a formal place of work. You can loosely say it's a place people can earn, and then mean it to be informal. Whether people make a living here or not, I would say they do. However, it's an informal setting.
2305  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with a business mindset on: October 07, 2022, 12:50:56 PM
Some see good profit but fail to take them because the expect something bigger. If crypto traders can use the business mindset on their analysis the ratio of their profit to loss percentage will be so large. A business person keeps their greed out of their business because the know if their price get unaffordable they might lose their customers. If crypto traders have a price the expect from every trade we will have more profit than losses.
You succinctly captured the whole thing in the quoted text. That aspect is the great undoing of many speculative traders, not just crypto alone. There's no trader who would say truthfully that they hadn't been caught in that web. We need a bit of greed once in a while in this market, especially when one thinks the coasts are clear. The market doesn't show us mercy when dealing us in loss and I believe that's why traders expand their expectations while in small profit. However, what I will advise in a situation like this is for such a trader who wants to risk it further to adjust their SL to entry level. It's a bad trading habit to watch a trade already in profit go back into loss. With entry level, you don't loss anything again.
2306  Other / Meta / Re: Frequent 400 Bad Request errors on: October 07, 2022, 07:32:11 AM
I'm using crhome and I'm doing fine so far although sometimes I feel a little irritated because of the slow internet connection. Yes, it's obviously very annoying.
Are you sure the slow internet connection isn't from your side, depending on the device you're using, network and broadband connectivity you're on to? Sometimes, it could be. I use chrome too and haven't been witnessing that error message assessing this forum. Nonetheless, I must admit that it's like this is becoming a thing on BTT. There's A Brief Break in Transmission thread that I commented on yesterday on this same issue. I hope this issue is speedily taken care of before it becomes highly irritating.
2307  Other / Meta / Re: Do you want a BitcoinCleanup factoid? on: October 07, 2022, 05:50:20 AM
I think you took it for granted that everyone knows the meaning of "factoid" and that those who don't are likely to look up it's meaning. It will be a good place to lay the definition first.

Factoid – An inaccurate statement or statistic believed to be true because of broad repetition, especially if cited in the media.

*I had to look it up in the dictionary myself*
2308  Other / Meta / Re: A Brief Break in Transmission. on: October 06, 2022, 11:37:53 PM
Sometimes you getting that when i guess the traffic data is to big or you hit the site reload button and acting to fast.
There are at some stage some breaks but normaly it should be working with in a few minutes after you getting the message for bad gateway.
It also can be something have to do with cloudflare , sometimes.
You should be not worried about it.
I guess your first paragraph best explains it. I've also encountered that several times though my first time experience was hysterical. I panicked. It went from me thinking someone had hijacked my account to thinking the forum had suddenly disappeared (as in, dumped by the admins/owner). With time (each time it came up again) I realized either of the two you mentioned could be the most reoccurring cause for that. This day when I encounter such I just close the site and wait a few minutes before trying again. So far, it has worked wonders because there's nothing much to it to bother anyone.

Theymos once answered on a thread on the same topic:

It was a DDoS attack.
Check the date on theymos' post and what it was addressed to, you would realized that both situations aren't the same.
2309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin's Price be affected by this? on: October 06, 2022, 06:32:01 PM
Stop giving Elon Musk relevancy in relation to bitcoin price. Nothing he does affest Bitcoin, except you (and many others) are greatly influenced by him and react to his actions.
It's the Number 1 money-man on earth at the moment we're talking about here. Definitely he has some level of clout, whether we want to admit it or not. Money is the name of this earthly game we call hustling. Elon Musk has it and just like ants to sugar, there are expectedly going to be those who will worship the soil he steps on. Yes, I don't like his guts too (just like you) and how he makes comments he doesn't linger long enough to stick to but then I give it to him that he has an ability to influence stuff. His power of influence may not be on veteran investors and traders but we can't truly say that for noob investors.

2312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: October 04, 2022, 08:10:04 PM
~snipped
This advice is very contradictory because i believe that bitcoin it self is a personal decision that you can take to start up your own kind of business. Someone that doesn't know about bitcoin like to seek the opinion of people further decision of either trading on cryptocurrency or neither bitcoin in particular.
I really don't think that what KingsDen did in that question to OP was bad or wrong. It was rhetorical and only OP can figure that out. Again, come to think of it; why would anyone leave their investment decisions in the hands of complete strangers they meet online? Except you're in complete sync with someone offline before meeting them here online, I think you shouldn't rely completely on what they say to form your decision. OP shouldn't just rely on whatever
2313  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a reliable store of value - what’s a reliable store of value for you? on: October 04, 2022, 06:45:01 PM
Bitcoin isn't a store of value if you asked me. This is because it's subject to fluctuations and volatility. Anything can happen to make price go wry with it. Pointedly, we've to quickly remember that there were those who bought Bitcoin at ATH in 2021 and of the fact that price has since then not gone back to that range. To those ones, I'm not sure the value of what they invested has yet been recovered. What store of value can that be then? For me, Bitcoin is best described as a speculative asset. I use stable coins as my store of value.
2314  Other / Meta / Re: We can easily implement Dark Mode on bitcointalk right now! on: October 04, 2022, 04:26:15 PM
Variety is the spice of life. I guess it's better to have options than not and being monotonous. Several online sites which aren't even as old as BTT have the dark mode option (though I don't like using it) and it won't be a bad idea to have such implemented in this noble forum too. I've been given to understand from what I've read in this thread that there was a time a few years ago this same issue was debated. Whatever that happened that made it not see the light of the day shouldn't resurface now. Theymos should let us have that option. We should be upgrading.

Synchronice, thank you for revisiting that issue.
2315  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I messed up on: October 04, 2022, 02:08:30 PM
Help, I fucked up really bad, I mistakenly deleted my recovery seed that I wrote down in a txt file on my PC and its been over two weeks now, is there anyway I can recover this? I've tried software like disk drill and other but none gives back that exat .txt file.
Well, yeah you did actually. You're old enough here to have stumbled on this warning that people shouldn't save their seedphrase or any valuable data on PC/desktop. Writing such out on paper has proved to be more reliable than storing it on mobile devices. While not trying to rub it in your face, I sincerely do hope you recover it and also that others too learn from your mistake on this. What's the feedback, OP?

Having multiple means of safe keeping secret phrases shouod be one thing we should take seriosly in tue case of such situation as this there will be available alternative to it all.
However, make sure storing secret phrases doesn't involve leaving them on a PC or a mobile device, especially one connected to the Internet. Doing that leaves one vulnerable to hackers.
2316  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does anyone think it will be much harder to buy bitcoin later on down the road? on: October 04, 2022, 01:37:24 PM
Just wanted everyone's thoughts on how easy it is to get bitcoin now, and what getting bitcoin might be like in the future? For example, I can simply go on cashapp and buy btc, send to a wallet I own the keys to. I can also use localbitcoins, paxful, I mean the list is kinda endless. Will that list become...not so endless in the future as the value gets higher?
The list will be more endless in the future and much easier buying Bitcoin. The only issue will be that Bitcoin is likely to be more expensive then than now. As things improve and development envelops time, it becomes very easy transacting in cryptos. Imagine how difficult it was buying Bitcoin a decade ago when it debuted even at giveaway prices. Exchanges were very few then and people couldn't even know which of the exchanges to trust transacting with for fear of being scammed. Today, we've lots of exchanges and P2P outlets and groups to buy from. More will open up in future too.
2317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS NOT DEAD! on: October 04, 2022, 12:54:58 PM
Bitcoin is dead.

Yes, truly dead.

Disappointedly, a lot of people don't even know this. It's dead to FUD but naysayers who still don't want to be pacified are busy looking for its tomb. That isn't going to happen. Bitcoin is a Phoenix, literarily speaking. It has a way of rising from its perceived ashes. Price crashes or energy consumption brouhaha are things it easily dusts off. The Bitcoin obituary isn't even a thing anymore now. It was a constant thing pre-2017 when I knew about Bitcoin. Such FUD would send shivers down the spines of Bitcoin faithfuls. I'm not sure such FUD has that influence now.
2318  Economy / Reputation / Re: Abuse of Edit function to reach quota on: October 04, 2022, 11:49:24 AM
I don't know if it's from my side but I like to report that the picture clarity shared by OP is blunt. I guess that's from the device used in taking the pictures or from the angle they were taken. Anyway, that's besides the issue. I observed that abuse as reported and that's very horrible to say the least. The best way to tackle such edit abuse would've been to report the user to the manager of the campaign they're in. That's if they're in a signature campaign at the time of the crime. It's not even as if they won't be in a campaign to do such. Those who aren't won't feel the rush to meet up weekly quota. Managers of BTC paying signature campaigns will care to take the matter up and scrutinize the user. I know it's a different ball game for bounty campaigns where anything goes and most bounty mangers don't even care to check their hunters. In the case of bounties, the user should be reported to mods.
2319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: October 04, 2022, 10:34:45 AM
So I was wondering that wether this bear market will be helpful for new people or not.
But of course, it's always different strokes for different folks. What makes meaning to one may not make to another. There are investors who get scared off by the experiences of the bear season while others firm up and learn from it. For me, I think the bear season is more didactic than the bull which is fraught with a hell of noise, excitement and merriment. If one doesn't learn a thing or two during a bear season, then one isn't observant and isn't likely to profit on the long run from this industry. The current bear run is affording many investors an opportunity to get onboard while there's still time for it.
2320  Economy / Reputation / Re: The most influential people of the forum. Who are they? on: October 04, 2022, 07:42:12 AM
Tell  who you think is influential and why.

https://bpip.org/Report?r=mostmerit

Users from this list best fit the description.
As expected, I saw most of those I believe to be influential on top. The only one I didn't find where I expected in the top 10 was TryNinja. That user's BTT SuperNotifier is a marvel for me.

I never knew there's a user (e_o_l_e_o) who could top LoyceV and also had more merits than them. A user who has this must be a robot then 🤗, judging by how active and contributive LoyceV has been.

Users like:
CryptoprenuerBrainboss is one hell of a dude whose forthrightness I admire. He has consistently shown leadership acumen at our local board (Oga theymos, abeg do make you give us this board). The Pharmacist, who's act of tough discipline comes paradoxically with tender love. Ahah! lovesmayfamilis and suchmoon are also distant but close users whose posts and actions I also find reassuring.

There are several of these users but for the want of space, I will rap it up here.

*Yeah, I know these ratings change with time and no one is irreplaceable.
