As trade deadline is getting near, we will hear a lot of news and rumors about the current movements that are happening inside the NBA.
Quote
NBA trade rumors: Rockets turned down Bucks' offer for Eric Gordon; Hornets will take calls on Gordon Hayward

Quote
The Jazz are reportedly open to dealing anyone besides Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler
This is something for the Utah Jazz. "Open to dealing anyone" is such a big move for them after piling up young players last season. I bet it is also a call for Clarkson to straighten up his decision about his future with the Jazz.
Their management seems to be liking big men too. Before they kept Rudy Gobert for a long time so it's not surprising if suddenly they will like to build Walker Kessler as he had been amazing this past few games with his rebounding skills and blocking capability.
Keeping Lauri Markkanen though is an obvious move, make him the face of their franchise and build a good team to support him. A good ball handler with a great passing ability will probably be best paired with him.

Right, but I think Lauri Markkanen is a different big guy as compare to Rudy obviously, I guess we wanted for Clarkson to stay with the Jazz and become their franchise, but it seems he want to explore so his name is not include. But I do agree, Lauri need someone to complement his skills as a big man, although they have a guard like Mike Conley, he is not a perfect fit for a Markkanen type of player.

And speaking of big players, there are rumors that they are also interested on John Collins or Rui Hachimura.

2343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 21, 2023, 11:53:52 PM

The winner of this fight will dictate the possible rematch and for sure the cash rewards will be more different..
If there is a clause on the contract that one of them can instigate a rematch then we'll have a rematch but still depends on the outcome of the fight, on this fight between these two hard punchers I don't think the fight will end in a decision, one of them will get knocked out but even if there's a knock out in a fight its still possible to have a rematch if the promoters feel that the fans want a rematch, they will see the profitability of the rematch.

Yes, even if there's a rematch clause, promoters and organizers will still depend on the outcome of the first bout but this time, it will be more complex. And considering that they are both a knockout artist, there might be a rematch that will be pursued by the losing camp even if the outcome was a KO or TKO as long as it was a close fight.

On these types of bouts, there usually is a rematch clause on their contracts because of how anticipated and how big this fight may be. Two relatively known fighters with clean records and a solid history between them, one fighter would surely not want to be bested by another, hence a rematch is extremely possible no matter the outcome of the fight. Of course, there is always the strategy to 'seal the deal' and avoid rematch from the winning camp, but that would surely be throwing away money and no one really wants to do that.

I think otherwise though, a rematch should be happen if the fight is too close and it did go the judges scorecard and then the decision is controversial,  the champion lost the fight. In this case, neither has no belt on the line. It's just pure hype between the two boxers at this point.

Maybe there is a clause, but it should satisfy at least the first scenario in my opinion. If not, then the rematch will not going to happen.

In any case, did anyone hear about what Tim Bradley has to say against Tank Davis?

Quote
“I’m rooting for [Garcia], and I want him to win because I’m not a fan of Tank, I’ll be honest with you. I’m not a fan of his. I’m not a fan of what he does and how he operates outside the ring. I want Ryan Garcia to knock his ass out. Knock him out. Sit him on his pants, and give him a rude awakening. I can hope, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen,” Bradley told Fight Hub TV.

“It’s not personal. Everybody has their opinion. It’s not personal. I don’t like the guy because of that. I don’t like the guy because of what I hear and what I see. I think he’s a piece of sh!t. I honestly do. I think he’s a piece of sh!t. You put your hand on women like that. Bro, you’re a piece of sh!t in my book. You’re not a man.

https://www.boxingscene.com/tim-bradley-gervonta-davis-piece-sht-i-hope-ryan-garcia-knocks-him-out--171927

The animosity though, hehehe, Bradley is full of hatred, maybe it steam on the case against Davis on hitting a women.
2344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Basra Stadium Stampede (football match). on: January 21, 2023, 11:42:38 PM
I also think that this is more on the organizer's fault.  Their lapse on security resulted in these stampede.  they are blaming the ticketless when they have the authority to stop them and even put them in arrest.  With a strong security line up, I doubt this ticketless will do things they did that causes the stampede.  So I think organizers should always take priority of their client's lives, planning ahead and patching holes that can cause tragedy like this.  So for me it is the organizers poor crowd management and inadequate safety measures.

This is a big event for Iraqi football organizations because it's been over 20 years since they hold a competitive international game
and yet they did not take the necessary precautionary measures to insure that it did not happen but unfortunately it happened, the organizers get all the blame here because they did not have proper crowd control, they should have learned from past stampedes like what happened in Indonesia, it takes out the glory and beauty of the game because of this worse scenario.

Yes, it's just sad beginning for them, after 20 years, they must be very happy or at least the fans are to see a very good and competitive international game in their home soil, unfortunately it turns out to be a disaster for the organizers as it lead to deaths and injuries.

Partly to blame is the obvious organizers, who didn't provide enough people and security to those crowds.

Sadly, we have so many stampedes in sports, even recently we have one Halloween stampede in South Korean killing 150 (although not related to sports).
2345  Economy / Economics / Re: Excessive Rain Can Hamper the Economic Cycle on: January 21, 2023, 11:32:19 PM
I guess most of the Southeast Asia have been hit by storms and flooding in the last century. The thing is that the climate has change a for the worst, and now we can't really define when is the monsoon season as it is not as it used to be.

And probably this is the reason why some countries can't cope with it because of the ever evolving season.

In any case, I do agree that it has bad effect, on the contrary it could bring water to our rice fields and it could be one positive side of excessive rain in my opinion.
2346  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: January 21, 2023, 11:22:51 PM

Meron naba kayong napusuan? Good luck sa inyo.

ML @3.55 and 5.5 @2.23

2347  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we now on Crypto bull run? on: January 21, 2023, 10:58:15 PM
Are we now on crypto bull run or this yet to be go down futher more down than 15500?
Depends how you look at it. Bears are definitely sweating and ton of shorts have been liquidated. Technicals are looking good and if you have been long enough in here, you can feel the hope being similar to other end of bears. Most of us being carefully optimistic, some being insanely optimistic. Obviously there are some permabears waiting for their turn to say they were right.

There will be more of them looking for shorts but that's going to be a dangerous game..

Answer to the question: no i don't think so. This would be biggest trap ever if it crashed there now.

Yeah, millions and not billions have been liquidated causing the bears to sweat. And it's obvious that they have no control of the market for now. And if my technical indicators are correct, we are over the 200 moving average now, so it's going to be very critical whether we continue with this run to $25k or not.

We just crossed another barrier at $23k, and I have seen it goes as high as $23,200.

So are we still in the FOMO period? And it's interesting that even at weekends, we have seen huge spike in the prices.
2348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: January 21, 2023, 10:48:45 PM
And it could he could larger and boost his psychology that he can defeat him because the fight is going to be in his country, so he has what we call homecourt advantage but not sure if this is true in boxing. So yeah, we will see if he has what it takes, I mean accepting it shows that he has big balls already, but facing him in the ring could be different for Yarde when he taste the first punch of Beterbiev.

Homecourt advantage, so is the home crowd, might really be an advantage but that was all useless if a boxer is really up against a tough opponent.

Artur Beterbiev is not new to pressure and seems won't really be affected much fighting against a crowd.

Yarde on the other hand should take advantage of any advantages in this fight. A boost of morale because of the crowd is a big help but that is nothing if he can't perform well in the actual fight.

It will be a struggle for Yarde finding that advantage because I'm sure that the 3-belt champion, Beterbiev, won't show any weakness in this fight that will make Yarde's journey much easier. I know that Beterbiev's not that perfect despite of his perfect record but somehow it's hard to believe that Yarde can truly make a difference.

I'm just under the impression that Yarde is saying this stuff and that because he wanted to market the fight and he wanted to show in front of his people that he is not afraid facing a boxer that is touted like a monster but I really doubt that he can stand his ground.

True, that's all he can do right now, since the fight is his backyard, he needs his fans to attend and watch the fight. So he is hyping and trying to sell it to them obviously so that they will get a lot of money thru live gate splits and PPV numbers.

But in any case, Beterbiev is too good for Yarde in my opinion. There is a disparity as far as power goes, and so we all know that he will be in a very tough situation in front of his crowd and then losing via knockout, hehehe.
2349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 21, 2023, 10:35:56 PM
I missed the Raptors vs Celtics bet, because the game has started and I'm thinking of betting on the underdog Raptors, but since they have taken the lead already, the odds have chance and now they are the favorite.

Hawks vs Hornets - I'm going with the Hornets on this one, ML @3.55 and 5.5 @2.23

Cavs vs Bucks - I'll go with the Cavs at home -2.5 @1.88

Wolves vs Rockets - Wolves -8.5 @1.94
2350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH & DOT on: January 21, 2023, 10:18:47 PM
I taught Polkadot would be blown away with time, but the coin has been around and holding its ground for a while now. Although the strength of Polkadot has reduced from the energy it started with.

Every time I would always choose Ethereum over any other coin because of Its market record and history, and with the bull run coming Ethereum is the most likely Altcoin to feel the positive impact.

Probably it's the repeat of what we are seeing in 2017-2018 era, wherein there are a lot of good altcoins, even challenging Ethereum. However, in the next bull run, we never heard about it, some of them didn't even went to a new all time high. And this could be the case of DOT though, as we go to the eventual bull run in 2024/2025, maybe those who have enjoyed a good run in 2021 might not replicated their success again, just saying. And this could include DOT and others altcoins.

So it's better to stick to Ethereum, as a prime mover, you can never get wrong this this investment.

Projections could be in the 5 digits in the next bull run.
2351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: January 21, 2023, 10:08:36 PM
Good for him, I don't know much a lot with Stephen but Naoya sure is a monster and is worthy of his alias. On 122 lbs, I'm sure that he'll feel something new with that but he's aware of any changes on that division and since he's the undisputed champion on the past division that he has left, it's becoming more interesting not just on him but also the title match that he has vacated.

I don't also see Inoue having issues on 122 lbs, and I think he can bring his power to this division (I hope others will agree with my observation). What I really like about Fulton is his never say die mentality, against Brandon Figueroa, he shows a lot of heart and win that fight in the judges score card. But I don't think he can last against the power of Inoue.
We'll not know yet since it's going to be the first match he's got for his upgrading division. Well, as for Fulton's style, if he's got the heart to never give up.
It's for Inoue to show his prowess that he can end matches too quick and his power is really strong that he might get knocked out, not just by luck but by his strength and style.

Again even in 122 lbs, he might be even powerful in this division because he doesn't have to weight drain himself just to make the desired weight. Now he can eat without issues and then go to the gym train hard every day. Fulton's tenacity will be tested here.
Yes, there will be some adjustments but the skill and the typical Inoue we know will not change and his attributes will remain, we may even see him upgrade that as well.

I think maybe we can base on others who have move up to different divisions and become successful. As someone pointed out, it's just 4 lbs sound, so it's not that huge jump and even us non boxers who gain 4 lbs in the pandemic might not see the difference after all.

So I would also leaning on the premise that Inoue might be good if not better at 122 lbs because his body is going to be fully rehydrated even before the fight and that is a big factor for boxers not needing to drain themselves in weigh-in.
2352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 21, 2023, 09:52:42 PM
And yet we have another postponement of the Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall rematch.

It has been reported by ESPN @MikeCoppinger

https://twitter.com/MikeCoppinger/status/1616854497321426945

So another delay for this much anticipated rematch, if some of you guys are not familiar, it was very close fight in the their first meeting that majority thinks that Jack Catterall might have scored a upset here. Scores where  112-113 (Catterall), 114-111 (Taylor), 113-112 (Taylor), at least it could have been draw and better yet, Jack winning. So the rematch has been set this March, however, as reported, Taylor suffered a foot injury and it will require many weeks to heal. Let's wait if Catterall will take a get busy fight or wait for Taylor again.
2353  Economy / Speculation / Re: Each time you see a red candle! on: January 21, 2023, 09:10:49 PM
The worst state of any investor is to be at long term loss. It comes with so much anxiety, anger, Fuddity, pressure, spoiled plans and many more ill happenings. But I see it as a time to abandon the old investment and focus on taking advantage of the bear moment seeking for new opportunities because as far as Bitcoin is concern there are new opportunities in every cycle. The beauty of an investment is in its quantity because with much quantity comes so much value.

As we grow and mature and become a experience investor, we have realized that the best time to really make money is to buy when the market is down. It's very different  when what we learned though, that during bear market, we shouldn't be buying because the market is uncertain and the it might continue to go down, so that is bad for us.

One of the biggest issues Bitcoin buyers face is that they use money meant to solve an urgent need to invest and end up selling at a loss to meet up with the need. Investment is best done with funds that don't have used in the nearest future, I prefer to call it errand money and because it is an errand money it is not meant to return immediately so errand takes longer time before they get delivered. The beauty of Bitcoin is long term investment. Hodl until it turns green. If it is not green, it isn't ripe for harvest. Each time a red candle appears, it is a signal to look out for buying opportunities.

First, you should invest what you can afford, so that you don't mistakenly selling off when the market is down because you just need money. Second, yeah, hold as long as you can, when the first condition is met, then the best thing is continue to accumulate and be a long term investor and just don't sell for small profits. I know others might be thinking of selling off right now because the market has been green for almost the whole month. But look ahead, the price is still low at $20k'ish, sell when we reach 6 digit or even higher.

^ I like your picks except for the Orlando Magic vs New Orleans Pelicans pick. Orlando is basically tanking to try and get the first pick and CJ McCollum I think is enough for the Pelicans to beat them. We’ll see. When a team is tanking though I never like to give them the benefit of the doubt. There’s no way I’d place a bet for the Magic or the Rockets this season. They just seem way too likely to lose intentionally.

I'd say I'm right with OG on this one, the Pelicans seem to be on another level entirely, and he's pointed out even without Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson, CJ McCollum is literally just enough to facilitate a win for the Pelicans.

_______

I'd also love to take the Clippers spread, but I'd have to wait until the lineup is available before making my call, or I'll just settle for the overs without second thoughts, due to how heavy the Spurs have been allowing into the net on their own end of the court.

It has been reported that Paul George will play in this game, so I will go with the Clippers on this one, to finally end their losing skid -6.5 @1.88

Cavs vs Warriors - GSW have had issues on the road, and as I see, 8.5 @2.28 is not that bad bet so I'll take that risk.

Jazz vs Nets - Jazz at home, -5.5 @1.96. Nets out of shape, Kyrie can't bring the team and carry it to his shoulder.

That's the game that I will go and bet pre-game. Best of luck.

Nice catch with the Warriors +8.5, I hope you had a bit on the absolute value of the Warriors ML too ? They were able to  win the game with all explosiveness of Jordan Poole.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to bet on the ML (what will I thinking?), I have done that kind of betting specially for underdogs, like when OKC was slaying top teams, too bad.

And so with Nets desperate for a win, Kyrie suddenly went beast mode, hehehe, we are all wrong so I guess majority lost here.

For the Clippers, they won, but my handicap bet was not covered, so just 1/3 for me.
2355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anybody else confused by the dead-coins pump ? on: January 20, 2023, 11:51:20 PM
FTX, Celsius, Voyager,  and soon Luna ( probably )... all making ridiculous gains in this BTC rally.
Meanwhile some coins with good fundamentals and strong utility ( like Chainlink ) are doing poorly...  Huh C'mon...

Yeah, but this is obvious pump and dump mate, this can't be sustain in the long run. Whales are playing with the price and manipulating it. But the problem is that when newbies see it and thought that they can join the fun and invest their money, then that is the time wherein they are going to sell and take their profits. So it's not good to see this dead coins suddenly pumping.

On the other hand, if you believed on altcoins that has strong fundamentals then invest on them for the long run.

Not just short burst of price for pure p&d.

Lol, him calling Usyk "Rabbit" is funny as hell, as as Frank Warren co-promoter of Tyson Fury,

Quote
"Both sides want the fight and are up for the fight. We are in a like mind. I don't think we're far off from announcing it. It's basically just a couple of things behind the scenes we're just trying to get sorted. I won't go into it as I don't want to compromise the situation. News is pretty imminent now," Warren told Seconds Out.

I'm banking that this fight is going to be in Middle East? the money is there to be make if Arum And Warren can pushed the fight in Saudi Arabia and probably that's what they have done in this fight, I reckon.

What you guys think?
2359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 20, 2023, 07:51:09 PM

Finally, we don't need to worry anymore that this fight was only pure hype. Now, it is already official as they already signed a contract, so let's all be excited for one of the biggest fight this year. Maybe they are starting to train now, getting in shape, and hoping they'll be 100% in the actual fight.

I'm looking at the poll result now, there's more voters favored Davis to win, well, I'm on the other side.  Smiley

I consider this a legacy fight between the two fighters, before this coming fight there are no boxers on each other resume that match the power and skill of both fighters, hopefully, this will be the start of a blockbuster year in boxing, where undefeated champions with equal skills fight each other regardless of their promotions.
This fight will not happen if Mayweather is still the manager of Tank, he did the right thing in getting rid of Mayweather who just wants to milk Tank by fighting low-level fighters.

He cares for his legacy that's why he leaves Mayweather, pushing his limit and fighting a fighter that people think has a chance of beating him. I like if all boxers who have the same standing as Davis will do the same, imagine how happy the fans will be as they will be getting the best value of their money.

That goes to say that Tank Davis is indeed intelligent and wise enough to leave the room because he already feels that he knows already what Mayweather could teach to him, it was a good contract but now he is standing on his own and building his own promotional company to maximize his share and profits in every fight he partakes. He surely knows that staying in a single promotional company won't give him the dreams he wanted.

Yeah, now that he is on its own, the value for money is good, unlike with Mayweather the cut still hurt his paycheck, and moving
back to the topic. I like the way he decided or both of them decided to bring this fight inside the ring.

The value for the money if you are a fan is really worthy. You'll go to watch both undefeated fighters who still bring their names up.

The winner of this fight will dictate the possible rematch and for sure the cash rewards will be more different..

I bet Tank Davis already had this situation in his mind that one day he will severe all his ties with Mayweather to build his own promotional company to maximize his income, that's why in his recent fights, we are seeing some GTD logo which became the name of his promotions now.

Regarding about the possible rematch, did Golden Boy revealed some details about their contract which indeed tells that there will be a possible rematch depending on the outcome of the fight? Rematch clause will indeed be useful in these kind of situation where both fighters can attract audience to make another money fight while solving their rivalry, but again, still depends of the outcome of their 1st fight.

Not that I'm aware of, so we don't know if there is a rematch clause or not in this fight. In any case, that it's a good move if both camp will agree on a rematch. Specially if this fight is going to be close, then we fans deserves a second fight. But the question is, what will be the outcome of their 1st fight? if it ends on a one punch knockout wherein majority here is saying because both has one punch knockout power, then rematch is not needed in my opinion. So yeah, it will depend on how the first fight will turn out to be. If it's a slugfest and the decision is controversial, then we need that rematch. But if the fight ends when someone sleeps on the canvass, then nah.

Definitely, we need to invest in our selves first, developed, learn from out mistakes and make a progress and then make our life easier regardless of our job, that is we should love what we are doing (like the OP) and then go on the next level. As for crypto and bitcoin, yeah, it will take some time and effort, not just the money. Time because it's a hard grind, it's like what others are picturing it in social media - "get rich scheme", effort because your should be focus not just for a year or two, but throughout your crypto journey So it's very hard, but if you are motivated, not just for you, but for your family to be able to get rich and live comfortably, then you will have to go to all of this and come up successful in the future.
