Not happening, Foster won against Vargas, it went to the judges scorecard: Tim Cheatham (117-111), Alejandro Rochin (119-109) and David Sutherland (116-112).

So it was a mastery from Foster and I think this is how you beat a brawler like Vargas, combination of slick defense, orthodox stance, which might have confused Vargas in the beginning.

And Foster has outlanded Vargas in every category to win his first title.

Vargas though remain a champion, WBC featherweight and most likely he will go down again. Making the Magsayo vs Figueroa a very interesting fight because if Vargas will defend his belt, it could be either of this two.
Lost my bet, ouch.
O'Shaquie Foster is damn good. From defense to countering the haymakers of Rey Vargas. I didn't expect that as I thought Vargas' jabs will dominate the fight I was shocked that he cannot even land those punches accurately.
The new champion did his homework, he knows the range, and he can easily dodge the jabs, and most importantly he knew the timing on when he could land a counter.
That was some damn performance by Foster and I wish he just became more aggressive early, there's even a slight chance he could KO Vargas.

And if you remember, he says that he will send back Rey Vargas to his previous weight class and that's why he did here, he shows that Vargas doesn't belong yet to this decision.

Yes, Foster really did his homework against a brawler like Vargas and that's why they were winning rounds because Vargas was really at lost at the style that is being shown by Foster in this fight. So congrats to him, maybe he will go for a unification fight with either Shavkat Rakhimov (IBF) or Hector Luis Garcia (WBA). So will see, there is also Oscar Valdez just waiting and Robson Conceicao. But to be honest, with the way Foster shown in this fight, it's going to be very dificult for the two mentioned to beat him.
1942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 12, 2023, 09:17:07 AM
A gambler may indulge in some of the things mentioned at the beginning of gambling. Because it is very as usual to get into this type of addiction after the initial introduction to gambling. Especially when a new gambler gets a few wins in betting, his desire to win will increase manifold. And if he loses, he also tries to recover it. These signs are seen by almost all gamblers. But when the gambler can achieve everything with his skill, he gradually learns responsible gambling.

It might take years though before gamblers really learn from this past mistakes and become responsible. I'm talking about experience here, as I have said in the past, I'm addicted to the point that I almost lose everything in gambling. And it went for years before I realized that I'm not just a compulsive gambler, but an addiction one.

So all the signs being mentioned in the beginning of the thread? I felt that before, but know I'm totally change, no longer playing and addicted but become a responsible bettor. And just gamble what I can afford to lose in a night and that's it.
1943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 12, 2023, 08:50:21 AM
Suns had that one season when they were pretty good, but CP3 has been getting older and Ayton has been quite unhappy at the team, so Booker himself couldn't handle the whole load himself. With Durant on the floor and Booker there as well, just those two would be amazing duo for any team, they will definitely be much better without a doubt. However, CP3 and Ayton are not bad for third and fourth options neither, could be harder for second position but when you add someone as amazing as Durant, then suddenly these two work out very well too. I think they are pretty good and could fight for a title but they still have many teams they have to beat first, but I would say they are the best in west right now, depending on how Durant will do of course.

That was their first year together, they went as high to the finals, but lost to the Bucks. And then we thought that they will make a run again the next season, but with all the Ayton drama, not getting a max rookie contract, they choke in the second round against the Dallas team lead by Luka. Booker's mistake that time is to trash talk him throughout the series, but Luka just destroyed them mentally. So let's see, it seems that they are in a momentum because of their price acquisition, although losing 2 of their core.

With a healthy KD as their reinforcement, I can say that the winning chance is good for the Suns, they can move to the next round
and maybe a possible another West side Semis or maybe more than that.

We can't conclude yet, but hopefully they'll manage how to work together for that
same goal in winning a title.

Durant will be more willing to help this team to reach the NBA Finals. When he was still with the Nets, he only got Irving, now he has all he needs to create a good team. CP3 and Booker can both be effective in the offense, while they have a good center at the same time. I can see that they'll not only pass the 2nd round, they'll reach the WCF the least.

It's too early to call that, it's a bold statement but we will have to see how the chemistry first and then we can speculate how good it will be or how far they can reach this season. Booker and CP3 was almost there, and if I'm not mistaken, it was the first time that CP3 is healthy and has a chance, but Giannis is too good during that run.

So right after the all star, or when KD is available, we will see how his blending with the other 2 super stars of Phoenix. I think the key here will be Ayton, because he will have to play good defense as they have loaded with offensive weapons already.
1944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 12, 2023, 08:15:06 AM
And Foster winning against Vargas, the Featherweight division might go back with him as the WBC champion. So this fight is very important for this two, because sooner or later the winner might be Vargas next target once he moved down.

Unless he wants to stay at 130 lbs, he already tasted this division and lost already. So the best option is to go back and defend his belt. Although one compelling reason for him to stay is when his body can't squeeze to 126 lbs limit. He is a tall boxer and maybe they are going to look at this problems as well and where they are going after his first lost.
1945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 12, 2023, 07:59:31 AM
Indeed, if he mange to win his upcoming fight, automatically the winner of Magsayo and Figueroa's fight will be declared as new title holder from that said division,

It's not automatic given there's another scenario.

The winner between Mark Magsayo and Brandon Figueroa will only be elevated from interim to regular champion if Vargas decides to move up if he wins against Foster. If Vargas loses, he will need to mandatory defend his 126 titles against the winner between Magsayo and Figueroa.

But for me, I'd rather see Vargas wins this match and move forward on achieving multiple titles per division.

If I'm not mistaken, it will be Vargas' 4th title division champion if he wins against Foster.

I guess that leads to the same thing mate as @Fredomago also stated above that "if he (Vargas) manage to win his upcoming fight" that would also mean that the winner of Figueroa-Magsayo fight will be declared as the regular champion and not as Interim champion, so somehow that's quite automatic as long as Vargas will conquer Foster successfully.

1946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 12, 2023, 06:10:35 AM
We have got a couple of enticing fixtures for tonight in the NBA, and the first one being between Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets.

I like the 76ers -1.5 @ 1.96 Odd, that's all things being equal, but I still have zero information as to why the odds are this even, because I'd expect the 76ers to be clear favourites if they have an all healthy squad regardless of the Nets being having home court advantage or not, they're still pieces trying to fitting together, so I'd take the 76ers here early at -1.5 with the hope there are no major absentees for them.

I'll tail you with that mate, -1.5 now @1.97 is already very attractive. Yeah, with Cam Thomas and Spencer as the new face of the Nets, they might be good, but I think Sixers has enough personnel to win this game.

Magic vs Heat - Magic is one of the most dangerous team right now, and they are the underdogs again in their homecourt so ML @2.05.

So I will also try to parlay this two = 4.04.

Almost mate, the Heat vs Magic was quite intense. I don't know what was wrong with the Magic today because suddenly, they lost their consistency after having a good lead in the 1st half and they kept on making mistake which the Heat took that as an advantage to chase them down until the game went Overtime. This time, the Heat didn't gave them a chance to lead and ended the game in their favor.

Sixers handicap fully covered, congratulations to all who got their bets correct.

Update: Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors = LAL wins (109-103)

Damn, yeah, was watching the game, Magic had a good lead about 7 and last three minutes of the game and I thought that I'm going to hit my parlay. But they allow the Heat a run of 16-6 if I'm not mistaken and it was the start of the run in that last three minutes of the game.

Bachero has a chance to win the game, but he miss a bank shot. Hopefully they were able to hold on the last seconds and not allow the Heat to score. But in OT they are just out of it.
1947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins to HODL on: February 11, 2023, 11:59:07 PM
I still have a lot of USDT in my wallet, I already have ROSE, NFTb, TRX, AXS. My question is any other altcoins that I have missed or should check out?
I am curious why you have don't any high market-cap altcoins in your bag. Just like Ethereum.
I highly suggested that even if you have some mid to small-market cap altcoins, it's always better to hold high-market cap altcoins too just like Ethereum.
Beside of that, I highly suggested too to track the price actions of your altcoins and have a target price in the future.

I'm seeing the OP wanted to take more risk, meme coins for one might give him a big profit in the future. But for use who have seen the market before, ETH/ADA/BNB might be good choice, instead of looking for that one big altcoins to invest, so it's either a big win for him or a fat L.

Nevertheless, we can still invest and profit by riding the hype train on AI projects. There are a lot of them right now, it's just a matter on picking the right project before the next bull run. P2E might be another niche as well, but not sure how big it will be, project like AXS has made it's run on the previous bull run. But who knows, maybe they are still going to be hot pancakes 2024/25.
1948  Economy / Speculation / Re: what now ? on: February 11, 2023, 11:49:45 PM
Today completes a full reversal of the higher range we've seen and the BTC rally to the start of February.  The wider question after this completes is do we repeat this range again and return back to 24k or do we fail the support at the bottom of the range and extend into a further pullback presumably to somewhere like 20k or 21k possibly.
Market has been quite bullish, Monday is in a few hours its possible we see a return to positive action at the beginning of the week and so we repeat range.  Most likely overall is an extension of a price check for all the 20k prices but might not happen now I guess.

Yeah, we are still in the middle right now, bulls wanting to get the price to $22k, but somewhat it has being pulled by the bears and remain at the higher $21k levels. It's going to be weekends so we might not see a lot of movement either. Hopefully I'm will be happy if we can the price for this month just above the $20k region. It's the biggest support that we can have right now and maintaining it means that the bulls could still have the upper hand and then we will see what March is going to offer. Maybe can go as high as $24k again.
1949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK sponsored by Utopia on: February 11, 2023, 11:38:34 PM
Maybe because just doing it is not so easy? It is obvious to me that Fury understands that defeating Usyk will not be easy, and in case of defeat, the whole image of the "great champion Fury" will be completely destroyed. The stakes are incredibly high, aren't they? And judging objectively, a victory over Usyk will give Fury less than a defeat from Usyk will take away from him, that is, it is mathematically beneficial for Fury that this fight does not take place at all. Plus, do not forget that Usyk is two years older than Fury, which means that time works for Fury. Everything is simple.

I don't think it will be easy for him but I don't think Tyson is that worried about it either. The risk is worth the reward regardless. It will likely be a career high payday and the first chance to unify all the belts in nearly 20 years. He also gets the kudos of beating another unbeaten person. There's more to gain than to lose in my opinion.

I don't think we should take into account the issue of money here at all, with his popularity and the hype around his persona, Fury will be able to earn (if he needs it) even in exhibition fights. And in general, he no longer suffers from a lack of money  Grin
In the end, it remains: to take all 4 belts and defeat the invincible Usyk and go down in history in the way he dreamed against losing his belts and destroying the entire career that he had built all his life. This bet looks like an all-in bet. I don't like all-ins  Grin

Well why not get a huge payday and then fight for all the belts? So for sure there is this element of money, everyone is after there paycheck, millions to be set for life for him and his family. Even the loser Anthony Joshua will fight because as he has said the motivation is money:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agdkYNLXbhg

Yes, being unified HW champion is one for the history books for Fury, but if there is one big reason to push for this fight, it could be bigger money in the line.
1950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: February 11, 2023, 11:26:28 PM
Shakur will be the favorite here, its also a home court advantage so this will be a big challenge for Yoshino, both boxer are undefeated so this will be a big pressure to them. Shakur seems to be more fit and active though, if you’ll see his previous matches his aggressiveness is there and a deadly punches are there as well. Who ever wins here will face another big challenge on their next match either with Haney or Loma, so better for them to do their best on this match.

Not sure if there is pressure on Shakur, yeah, he needs to win this fight because it will be in hometown, but he will be facing a somewhat unknown boxer from Japan. I'm not saying that Yoshino is not going to win, but basing on the experience alone of Shakur and Yoshino not exposed, it might be very hard for him to win in US, in my opinion. Yes, whoever wins here, is assured to face the winner of the Loma vs Haney fight. So this is in the mind of Shakur since he wanted to break into the picture and become a champion in another weight class.
Actually both are having 'noisy' names, there's just this barrier between local and international viewers. Yoshino quite had a good record for being undefeated in his local while Shakur is as well but with foreign fighters. This is where difficulty with bettors measure comes from. In general, the japanese boxer's statistics would be somehow set aside since international record is believed to be having a bigger weight not only in sports industry. But this is boxing we are talking about and anything could happen once both fighters starts in the middle of the square. Both has their own trainings and tactics to win over their opponent. So what's more likely to happen , and as we can see in this topic, Shuichiro is just the underdog in this match.
I'm not seeing it as a difficult though, for sure it's easy for bookies to make Shakur their favorite even if the Japanese is also a champion. It's been gauge on their experience and again, Yoshino might be good in Asia but the centerpiece of boxing is in the US.

Underdog means that you are treated to have low chance of winning.

And even in this community, we all know that Shakur will likely take this W.

And also means that Shuichiro Yoshino chances are not that good against the world champion who vacated his belt because of weight issues, actually, I see this fight as more of Shakur's debut and highlights before he go and pursue the generals of this division. It's no doubt already that Shakur will get defeated in this bout before he can chase titles.

No offense for the Japanese fighter but this bout looks like a good tune-up fight to prepare Shakur for a much bigger bout in the future. In short, just a stepping stone.

Yes, this will be Shakur's debut and we are eager to see him at this division, he has been telling us all that he wanted to move up at 135 lbs because that's where the challenge is, a lot of good names that he wants to fight.

Anyhow, it's going to be a win-win though for Yoshino, also his chances are slim to none, at least he will get to travel and exposed his talent in the US soil. And so even if he losses, who knows, maybe he can still get a fight there, just like Nakatani, who he beat recently. And with the emergence of Inoue in the big US market, for sure there will be a lot of Japanese too that might followed next. Similar to what Pacquiao did to many Filipino boxers when he was at his prime. At least they are given the chance with the likes of Mark Magsayo and Casimero and many more. So this might be the case for Japanese boxer in the next coming years.
1951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: February 11, 2023, 11:15:08 PM
I think it's better for Beterbiev to fight Bivol first before hunting down Canelo. Career wise, it's a better move since he will be going for the unification fight as Bivol has the only belt that is not in his position.

But then again, there is one stumbling block here which is the two parties have different network affiliations, Beterbiev and Top Rank are in ESPN, while Match Room and Bivol is tag with DAZN.

So that will be the biggest issues with Bivol/Canelo/Hearn vs Beterbiev/Arum.
1952  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 11, 2023, 11:05:30 PM
Being a student is so hard nowadays. I've been spending a lot for school requirements and different activities related to education. I'm stuck with this saying "SAVING IS WASTING", thinking that with the little amount of money I have, should I put it on an investment or should I just save it for my future expenses or emergencies. I'm also living in a country in which there are limited side hustles I could do to earn extra for investment, so I'm troubled somehow.

There is a saying that the best investment that you can make is to improved yourself, get education just like what you are doing. Why are you troubled by it? in the future if you have the proper education maybe you can get a good job and that is the time to save money, and remember that you are still very young and many good things can happen to you.

And if you think about those college dropouts that make it big, they are just a small percentage and they could be the blip in our society, people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, they are kind of different personality. I'm not saying that you might not be successful like them, but it's better to educate and invest in your self.
1953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: February 11, 2023, 10:55:48 PM
Anyone see the odds for this fight?

Davis - 1.35
Garcia - 2.95

So that is a huge gap, Ryan Garcia is 3:1 underdog in this fight, hehehe, I don't think that should be the gap, but sport bookies think that Tank Davis is more of the complete fighter and totally disregard of Ryan's power.

And if ever the fight pushes through, it's better for Ryan's fans to go bet right now, go to Vegas and put a lot of money or for us, go to our favorite crypto bookies and have that bet on the ML.
1954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Withdrawing Bitcoin off the radar on: February 11, 2023, 10:40:40 PM
Not only do I want to avoid exchanges but also banks, which is currently the most convenient way to withdraw money, but if I were to move funds to a bank account, they'd get taxed at 24%, which is a huge percentage. I've also thought about Bitcoin ATMs, but the majority of them here require some sort of KYC and feature expensive fees, although they may still be a better option than bank transfers. Is there an actual, reliable way to exchange bitcoin for cash in hand? My best guess would be a P2P transaction in person, but that's quite unlikely.

I guess you don't have any options but go to the old and traditional way - P2P. But the risk is there as well specially if you don't know the other party, so it's going to be very difficult to find one specially if we are talking about thousands or even millions of dollars involved in that kind of exchange.

Or probably just break it down, instead of looking for just one person to do transaction, then maybe 4-5 will do and make it like every other day.

Bitcoin ATM too will charge you a lot if you do transactions, so not just KYC but a chunk of money is going to be deduction in your end.
1955  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin go back to 19000 on: February 11, 2023, 10:25:48 PM
It’s definitely a possibility we go back to $19K. I think the market is at a bit of a fork in the road where it’s trying to decide if it’s going to retest the $16K lows or jump up to $30K. The participants are placing their bets and waiting to see which side has more influence. We do see to be leaning downward at the moment, but I think any dip from here is a buying opportunity.

Right now with all the corrections in the last several days, people might be thinking that the price is going back to $19k. I think it's a fair assessment for now, since the bull run has somewhat stop on its track. From $24k high to $21.7k and then just fluctuating around that price. We need to go back to at least $22k and maintain just like the last week of January and first week of this month.

So let's see who will be the winner, the bears and bulls have been pulling each other others and so we are in the middle trap and waiting to see which side it is going to be. Hopefully we can just maintain above $20k this month.
1956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 11, 2023, 10:01:56 PM

I guess a rematch between Magsayo and Vargas will be quite impossible to happen if both boxers are already holding their own respective belts in their respective weight class.

Wait first on the result of the Magsayo vs. Figueroa match before we can say that statement involving Magsayo. Cheesy

There are also several "what if's" for that rematch between Magsayo and Vargas and those are stated already in the above discussions.

If Magsayo and Vargas will win their respective match, they can probably meet in the future at the 130 if the former considers moving up and think he can able to adopt the environment in that division.

Rey Vargas has a scheduled fight tonight against Foster, so for those who are interested then they can watch this fight and see if he will have to stay at 126 lbs or not.

Foster promised Vargas that he will send him back to featherweight division when he win against Rey.

Nevertheless, Mark should focus on the task at hand here, Figueroa is not a easy fight for him because of the volume and somewhat Magsayo was problems fighting a brawler because he can't execute his power punches. And there are issue too with his gas tank as he tires in the later round and that might be a big issue for him as Brandon Figueroa is relentless.
1957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 11, 2023, 09:52:20 PM
I think it's better if he would face another nationality, again as I have said, Thailand's  Nawaphon Sor. Rungvisai  or PR's pride Emmanuel Rodriguez (who beat Jason Moloney).

I also don't want two Filipino to be in the same ring, as much as possible I also like to see other nationality to face Nonito Donaire, it give more excitement than seeing both Filipino fight, sure the title will be in a Filipinos hand who ever own the fight but it is sad to think that a fellow Filipino's record will be tarnished by another Filipino.

I want Donaire to test himself against Nawaphon Sor. Rungvisai, I think it will be a good match, Rungvisai is very aggressive and it will fit on Donaire's style. Nonito is known to have his left hook, very patented of him. But he usually used it to fighters who want's to walk him down and think that they can easily out power him.

So if Rungvisai make a lot of mistakes trying to get inside of Donaire, they for sure he will taste some of those left hook and then combo in the body. So I wouldn't be surprised if Donaire wins another knockout victory in his next fight if either Rodriguez or Rungvisai will be his opponent for the belt.

It's politics again that play a big role here and that is why Jack C. is being bypass. I would agree that it seems they work this into perfection from behind without Jack's camp noticing it.

And it was noted that Jack already signed a contract and just waiting for the rescheduled date for his rematch against Josh Taylor. There are no stated reasons though why a sudden change of event. Jack's camp is just waiting until Taylor is now suited for the fight.

Damn, I badly want to see their rematch as that was a heated fight. They should settle it once and for all and not by facing other boxers.

Kind of disappointed here if they will meet not instead.

Thanks, I thought that I was the only one wanting to see the rematch, and it's good to hear that Josh will give him the second fight because everyone knows that Jack was robbed by a victory there.

It was really heated and it was a war, The scores were 113-112 for Catterall, 114-111 for Taylor, and 113-112 for Taylor. It might be better if the fight is a draw. And the judge who score the fight 114-111 was criticized because it was obvious a biased score.

Poor Jack though, this could be the second robbery of him if the Taylor vs Lopez pushes through this year.
1960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 11, 2023, 09:21:19 PM
Okogie or Damion Lee might be the one replacing the twins, Cam Johnson and Mikhail Bridges departure from the Suns roster. Even Ayton has hard time digesting the event leading up to acquiring Durant, but this is the brutal business of basketball everyone is dispensable.

So let's look at the lineup, Durant, Booker, CP3 and Ayton plus one. I think that is solid already and it can play defense too.

Unless they are really trying to go full defense, then maybe they are going to rotate more.
I think it will be Torrey Craig. They have two of the most dangerous shooters in the league and CP3's options for an assist are doubled so they might as well use the hole for their defensive push.
Yeah, a lot of tension circling around on social media about how loyalty is not considered anymore. It's all business and it sounds brutal but players cannot do anything about it. Some even went further at defining it as players like items in the eyes of team management.
I think this had been the biggest trading swing that I have seen, with lots of colors.  Cheesy
Western Conference became more competitive, and now Dallas Mavericks became a championship contender and so do the Suns.

We’ll find out right after the all star break. Most of the analysts seem to agree that it will be Craig. It was nice to see Booker back in action tonight against the Pacers. He helped them get the win with a pretty balanced scoring night from Booker/Ayton/Paul. They might already be making an effort to share the ball more evenly to set an example for when KD hits the court. It’ll be interesting to see the shot distribution.

Got trap there when Booker played against the Pacers hehehehe. Not sure about Torey Craig though, but given the chance, hopefully he can rise up to the occasion. True, when they heard the news, it seems everyone in the Suns suddenly find themselves to be on the positive note of the game.

So they won big, distributing the ball. It will be a good gauge to see how every team is doing right after the all star break. And for sure it is going to be competitive as they are going to make a last push on the second half of the season.
