1961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 11, 2023, 09:31:07 PM
It's politics again that play a big role here and that is why Jack C. is being bypass. I would agree that it seems they work this into perfection from behind without Jack's camp noticing it.

And it was noted that Jack already signed a contract and just waiting for the rescheduled date for his rematch against Josh Taylor. There are no stated reasons though why a sudden change of event. Jack's camp is just waiting until Taylor is now suited for the fight.

Damn, I badly want to see their rematch as that was a heated fight. They should settle it once and for all and not by facing other boxers.

Kind of disappointed here if they will meet not instead.

Thanks, I thought that I was the only one wanting to see the rematch, and it's good to hear that Josh will give him the second fight because everyone knows that Jack was robbed by a victory there.

It was really heated and it was a war, The scores were 113-112 for Catterall, 114-111 for Taylor, and 113-112 for Taylor. It might be better if the fight is a draw. And the judge who score the fight 114-111 was criticized because it was obvious a biased score.

Poor Jack though, this could be the second robbery of him if the Taylor vs Lopez pushes through this year.
1962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 11, 2023, 09:21:19 PM
Okogie or Damion Lee might be the one replacing the twins, Cam Johnson and Mikhail Bridges departure from the Suns roster. Even Ayton has hard time digesting the event leading up to acquiring Durant, but this is the brutal business of basketball everyone is dispensable.

So let's look at the lineup, Durant, Booker, CP3 and Ayton plus one. I think that is solid already and it can play defense too.

Unless they are really trying to go full defense, then maybe they are going to rotate more.
I think it will be Torrey Craig. They have two of the most dangerous shooters in the league and CP3's options for an assist are doubled so they might as well use the hole for their defensive push.
Yeah, a lot of tension circling around on social media about how loyalty is not considered anymore. It's all business and it sounds brutal but players cannot do anything about it. Some even went further at defining it as players like items in the eyes of team management.
I think this had been the biggest trading swing that I have seen, with lots of colors.  Cheesy
Western Conference became more competitive, and now Dallas Mavericks became a championship contender and so do the Suns.

We’ll find out right after the all star break. Most of the analysts seem to agree that it will be Craig. It was nice to see Booker back in action tonight against the Pacers. He helped them get the win with a pretty balanced scoring night from Booker/Ayton/Paul. They might already be making an effort to share the ball more evenly to set an example for when KD hits the court. It’ll be interesting to see the shot distribution.

Got trap there when Booker played against the Pacers hehehehe. Not sure about Torey Craig though, but given the chance, hopefully he can rise up to the occasion. True, when they heard the news, it seems everyone in the Suns suddenly find themselves to be on the positive note of the game.

So they won big, distributing the ball. It will be a good gauge to see how every team is doing right after the all star break. And for sure it is going to be competitive as they are going to make a last push on the second half of the season.
1963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 11, 2023, 07:24:44 AM
Just 2/3 for me, I thought that the Suns are not in a good form against the Pacers, but it seems that they are very "bullish" because KD is arriving soon hehehe.

@danherbias07 - close for the Celtics win, but didn't cover the handicap, they are leading by huge numbers, by they allow the Hornets to outscore them by 5 points in the 4th. Tatum on fire with 41 big points for the Celtics, they are not deter by the trade news recently.
1964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: February 10, 2023, 11:55:15 PM
And probably this is where all the beef started between Caleb and the Benavidez:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nVh_HLGI-k

As you can see there is confrontation between the two groups years ago, it was Jose Benavidez in the video but David is right behind.

And so the animosity between the two runs deep and that's why David is eager to get his hands on Caleb for slapping someone in his team, in could be Jose that got hit if I'm not mistaken.
1965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 10, 2023, 11:44:42 PM
Wow,

https://twitter.com/ESPNRingside/status/1623920701349548032

I don't think this will sit well with Jack Catterall as they have scheduled already a rematch with Josh Taylor. Unfortunately, Josh got injured again and so the fight is called off.

Now this news is circulating that Teo Lopez is not going to fight Josh Taylor next for the title.

So I think this is a bitch move from Top Rank to bypass Catterall. Jack losses the first fight against Josh Taylor but it was very close that there are some insiders who think that Jack won the fight.
1966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best practices to prevent hackers from stealing our crypto assets on: February 10, 2023, 11:34:06 PM
Well said, but if I may add and this is increasing as well, we all think that we should protect ourselves at all cost specially online. But there is this so called:

https://cryptosec.info/wrench-attack/

Quote
What is a $5 Wrench Attack?

Basically, if someone finds out that you own a significant amount of coins, they can straight-off physically attack you, or threaten you to hand over your wallet’s private keys, or threaten you to send over the funds to them by using a deadly weapon or a basic tool that can be used for harm like a kitchen knife, a hammer, a screwdriver, or a cheap and rusty $5 wrench.

No matter how secure your funds are in your hardware wallet or on any of your devices, no computer security can save you from this type of attack.

So just be careful who you talk to in public with regards to your crypto assets or how much you have.

Because there are also crypto criminals in the offline world and you don't want to be a victim because it could cost you your lives, just saying.
1967  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 10, 2023, 11:22:06 PM

Pacers vs Suns - Pacers muna tayo, -1.5 @1.82
Sixers vs NYK - Sixers -5.5 @1.81, galing sa talo ang Sixers, baka magpumilit na manalo sa harap ng fans nila.
Celtics vs Hornets - Boston, baka double digit ang lamang dito at tambakan ang Hornets.
1968  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the black swan event not to be expected anymore? on: February 10, 2023, 11:12:05 PM
Why is no one talking about the black swan event? Or are you saying we aren't going to see that again? Is there a chance that things won't always be the same with crypto? Is the FTX crash the only pain part we will see in this bear market? If the pandemic of 2020 never happened we won't have seen a buying opportunity of 3500$ for 1 Bitcoin. What do you guys have to say about this? Are we going to keep side ways until 2024 BTC halving now?

And that is why you call them black swan, because it is something unexpected, chances of that to happen are slim and yet suddenly it will appear. No one see Terra Luna or the FTX collapse, specially the later when it was being manage and even went into the second biggest exchange during the height of it's success.

So I don't see the price going to $3500 this year or in this bear market. I think we have reach the lowest low already (this is just my opinion).

Probably some sideways, but maybe a couple of months before the halving, the price might see some light and go on a upside.
1969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 10, 2023, 11:02:06 PM
And this is what Ryan Garcia has to say:

Quote
On Wednesday evening, Garcia posted an Instagram video of himself training at coach Joe Goossen’s Ten Goose Boxing Gym in Van Nuys, Calif. with the caption, “stop running Tank. Stop hiding from me. Stop staying quiet behind Al Haymon. No rematch clause. Winner takes all coward.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-tank-no-rematch-clause-winner-takes-all-coward-stop-staying-quiet-behind-haymon--172359

I doubt though that Al and Tank will have to bow on this kind of threat from Ryan.

I'm still seeing that this fight can be iron out by both parties and the fight pushing in May or in a later date. Brave though from Ryan about the winner takes all suggestion, but it hasn't happen in boxing.
Yeah, winner-takes all are prohibited in boxing. Including betting a huge portion of their purse to the winner. It seems like lazy Kingry is craving an early retirement and wants to cash out big time before he focuses on becoming a full social media influencer. But I don't know why the always-play-safe Hymen and Tank are still scared and want more in the deal. Cheesy

It's all about the money mate, hehehe. And that's how Al build his empire, he should be on top and controlling who's who and the money that is going to come in his plate. And by now, their camp looks scared to fight Ryan because of that rematch clause issue or whatever they call it. And maybe that's where the genius of Bob Arum as he can make concessions with his fighters and other promoters, not saying he is not greedy or something, but at least he did deliver some of the best fights in boxing's history.

Edit: Saw this on my twitter:

Press kick-off for Tszyu vs Harrison,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHR8pX2CzpE

Who's not gonna love Tony Harrison here? hehehe, "Tim, I just wanna be friends, show me around".

“He took the elevator… I took the stairs”

So let's see what Harrison can do, he seems to be motivated in this fight to have a second wind in his career after his lost to Charlo in the second fight.

So I try to ask without any age restriction:

So just the same concept though, I mean we all know what gambling is, so there is no surprises with that kind of response even if from age 5-50.

You bet on an event with uncertain outcome to make money, simply as that.

Official weigh-in for Vargas vs Foster:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr0jwCbT5P0

Some pushing and jousting for position in front of the camera hehehe.

This is going to be a good fight for the championship belt, Foster has something to prove in this fight. He will be fighting Vargas who is moving up in weight so we might say that Foster has the advantage since he has been campaigning here already. But Vargas wanted to become the next great champion to become Mexico's another 3x world champ.
1973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What most gamblers do. on: February 10, 2023, 10:22:05 PM
I want to ask a question. And I need serious answer from this forum, and my question is WHY DOES A GAMBLER DON'T HAVE A SAVINGS.
In my country (Nigeria) there are many gamblers who don't have savings and it isn't help matters at all. Most of these gamblers can't afford for there families but they can afford money they will use to gamble. So why are they not having savings that they can use to help there families in time of lack. Like they said, we save money so money can save us tomorrow. But these gamblers doesn't know that.

I am one of those who disagree that you should not judge and assume that if you met a gambler he doesn't have savings there are two kinds of gamblers, the responsible one and the compulsive one, the responsible gambler are those who know how and when to gamble responsibly and I'm 100% sure that majority of them have savings because they are responsible enough to be financially literate because you cannot gamble responsibly without knowing how to budget your time and money.
I assume that's your impression of gamblers because you never really met responsible gamblers, don't judge some of them who have prominent businesses, check the people that are going to physical casinos many of them are prominent businessmen.

He is probably talking about his experience in his country Nigeria wherein the average monthly salary is around $700 and most likely, those below or in the poverty line is not even making that kind of money and most likely they are the one who are into gambling most and so they don't have money to save.

In any case, it's really hard to save money even if you are not into gambling. Even here, if you are making above average salary after you pay taxes and settled all the bills you have nothing left to put it in a bank, base on my personal experience.
1974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 10, 2023, 10:12:30 PM

Yes, the Donaire vs Moloney bout is already cancelled because the latter suddenly withdrew from the discussion. We don't know the reasons yet as both camps haven't disclosed some information regarding why their discussion has ceased but as per speculations, both camp did have an issue about the slice of the pie. Either camp isn't willing to receive less as in this bout, they are both equal. Now, Nonito Donaire and his camp is on a waiting game again.

that's what pride is. they will stick to what they want up until the event won't push thru. anyway, donaire should not wait any longer as he knows he's not getting any younger. for the next opponent who wants to challenge, just accept it. the purse split should be the secondary consideration. because if he will be picky, he maybe past his golden years anymore.

I do not think it is pride, I think Moloney thinks that he has no chance of winning against Donaire so he opt out of the fight.  There is a possibility that a fellow Filipino can be an opponent of  Donaire for the vacant title since there is some Filipinos who is on the top ranking and is eligible to fight for the vacant championship belt.  Whoever Donaire's opponent is, I agree that it should be scheduled asap since Donaire is not getting any younger.

Yeah, probably he doesn't want to take that risk and lost to Nonito in a world title bout and maybe this is what the camp advises him. Or what Bob Arum has been circulating around, he doesn't want to deal with Probellum, simply as that.

Donaire has face Gaballo, another Filipino for the title and he beat him with a knockout.

I think it's better if he would face another nationality, again as I have said, Thailand's  Nawaphon Sor. Rungvisai  or PR's pride Emmanuel Rodriguez (who beat Jason Moloney).
1975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 10, 2023, 07:13:39 PM
Lakers upgraded their roster, but might not be enough for this season to carry them to the playoffs.

We'll see how well the new guys fit in.  I actually really like the idea of Mo Bamba and LeBron James on the floor together.  I think they will either be a terrifying matchup on the floor or will not work at all.  Similar to how I felt about Russ and Bron, which didn't work out.  DLo could be a big spark as well.  I don't consider him much of a spot up shooter, but I assume he's capable of it.  He's definitely going to be getting the most wide open shots of his career.  My question is when do we get to see them in action?  Saturday vs the Warriors on ABC maybe?

Not really sure if they will be ready, I will assume that they will have to go to some test before playing? D'Lo might benefit from James though, we all know that Lebron loves to dribble penetrate and then pass outside, during their championship stint he has the luxury to it, with KCP, Caruso, Avery Bradley and Kuzma. So hopefully D'Lo can fill that role.

Of course the biggest winner in this year's trade is Suns and I would say that Lakers is second.
1976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The biggest casino property... on: February 10, 2023, 06:52:57 PM
$6b is only for the casino property, and just imagine how much they have in their bankroll plus the money that they should have in order to pay for the maintenance and upkeep, operating costs, and salary of all their employees. I just can't fathom how these huge casinos make that much money, but I guess there are still a lot of rich people who don't know what to do with what they have hence they end up in the casino and waste their money there.

Yeah, when you think that we are somewhat in a world wherein after the pandemic, everyone is having a hard time finding jobs and keeping their business. On the other hand, the rich became richer, they have more money to burn in a casinos. It open in 2010, together when some casinos in Asia that time and I would say that it is the boom.

And for sure it has return the investors money in the last 10 years and more. Even Singapore itself has benefited from the casinos, having it's own local employment to boot.
1977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 10, 2023, 06:40:30 PM
Ok, anyone seems to get trap by the Nuggets, hehehe. They did play good and try to make a comeback, they even cut the lead by 3 if I'm not mistaken in the 3rd quarter and thought that they can make a run and win the game.

Cam Thomas doesn't need to score 40 points because Dinwiddie took the bulk of the scoring by going 25 points. So good win for the Nets against the struggling Bulls. Bucks covered the spread against the Lakers.
1978  Economy / Economics / Re: Dubai is good example to other countries on: February 09, 2023, 11:58:58 PM
No taxes it's off course it's country with build cheap laoubour but at least people who got money can enjoy the fullest Life in there.
Bold part is very subjective. I've been to Dubai once, spent week there and honestly I never plan to go back. I wasn't impressed with absolutely anything there and the worst of all was the climate. And I wasn't even visiting Dubai during summer and it was hell. That is literally one of the last places in the world I would spend my time in if I had shit load of money.

Sure, city is good for business (especially if you are starting a crypto related business) but everything outside that is just awful as for me its completely soulless (expect the old part where gold market is) and artificial. Maybe if I was 15-20 years younger I would have a different opinion but at this point in life I value some other things more.

I been in other places, but not in Dubai or Middle East, but I have the same impression based on what I hear from my nephews and nieces there. One of them even works there for the last 4 years and he seems to embrace everything of course.

But as for us, I do agree as you grow older our priorities change and even if Dubai is a rich nation and no tax and could be a haven for business, I wouldn't bring my family there to established in that place.
1979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK sponsored by Utopia on: February 09, 2023, 11:41:19 PM
Fury will be fighting Usyk on 29th April 2023, I cannot see any reason it will not go ahead because after all the hype about possible UFC bouts, it all comes down to one thing and it is the most important of all when it comes to boxing and that is money talks. If there is money on the table any fight can take place. Fury vs Usyk will definitely take place.

Does anyone still doubt that it is Fury who is delaying the fight?  Cheesy
Very strange behavior for a person who considers Usyk weak, who does not need money, etc. Of course, I understand that Fury has always been the way he is now, but still he is moving towards the circus and exhibition fights. It is a pity that Usyk is a cultured person and rather weakly mocks Fury.

It is enough to look into history to see that there are a million possible reasons for any even already organized fight not to take place. Some boxers can get injured or "injured" (if they want to avoid a fight), some boxers can get depressed or get caught on drugs/doping (I'm not hinting to Fury, I'm just directly saying, hehe). I hope that this fight will take place on April 29th but still I have big doubts about it.

It's too big for Fury not to accept this fight either in UK or Middle East so for me I think it's more than they have iron it out and everything, against could boil down to the venue as both have it's advantages and disadvantages.

And I do agree that money talks, so if Saudi brings more money to the table, then Arum will deliver Fury then to the Saudis and so is Usyk.

Vargas vs Foster final press conference and face-off:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjZ0mlTRGjI

Of course the regular exchange for this boxer in the press conference, Vargas says that Foster hasn't gotten a good sleep, while Foster said he will send Rey Vargas back to 126 lbs after he lost this fight. It also includes Mario Barrios and Puerto Rico’s Jovanie Santiago,10-round welterweight co-main event As well as unbeaten heavyweights Lenier Peró and Viktor Faust.
