1401  Other / Meta / Re: What is the great mistake that you ever done in bitcointalk forum since you join on: April 08, 2023, 11:48:56 PM

I have seen that there are a number of Hero and Legendary members here on this forum. I assume that you all done at least one mistake when you actively participating in the forum. If you would like to share a mistake you have made, it could help newcomers avoid making the same mistake when posting here.

Probably what the rest of us made before, early in our forum activity, we might have been posting low quality. I remember way back, I was even branded as a "spammer" by someone, I wouldn't mentioned his name, he is still active and he says he put me in his ignore list. I was already a Senior Member that time, but I have work myself up.

There could be standards here, but for me, and if you are being judge by others, so be it. Just be yourself and not be affected but strive hard to improved yourself in this community.
1402  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit hold funds and ignore in chat on: April 08, 2023, 11:26:17 PM
Try and message their representative on this forum, it has been some days ago that he was last active on this form, but you can message him, likely he may see the PM.

PM him: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3067300

You can also post this on their announcement thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5326640.0

I am sure that their representatives will read everything anyway. Moreover, I sent them a link to the topic in the chat. I am simply surprised by their indifferent attitude and how they communicate with customers. Such companies that have the slightest respect for customers should not be in the top.

Why not give it a try though?

I mean they represent the company here, and they have been in this community for so long that they know that they need to respond to everyone's complains, issues and accusations. It's a cutthroat business though, so they might be busy at times and may not attend to their customers in a flash. For sure you have experience that in real life as well.

Anyhow, not siding with anyone, but Rollbit might have reasons for holding your funds.
1403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: April 08, 2023, 11:10:31 PM
It's interesting to note though that Regis Prograis, the WBC champion in the 140 lbs is already a free agent. He used to be under Probellum, but we all know that the boxing outfit or at least most of it's boxers have bee taken by Disrupt Promotions, except maybe for Donaire and Eimantas Stanionis who remain who remain with Richard Schaefer.

And with that, we might see a possible scenario that Prograis might fight the winner of this fight, or at least will go for any unification in this division as Taylor only held one belt (WBO) and it will be on the line against Lopez.
1404  Economy / Economics / Re: "Greedflation" has gone too far! on: April 08, 2023, 10:53:42 PM
Quote
When costs go up, so do profits? That’s not how capitalism is supposed to work, but that is the recent trend. For over a year now, consumers and businesses, both in the U.S. and worldwide, have struggled with stubborn inflation. But the soaring costs haven’t prevented corporations from raking in record profits. The companies in last year’s Fortune 500 alone generated an all-time high $1.8 trillion in profit on $16.1 trillion in revenue.

‘We may be looking at the end of capitalism’: One of the world’s oldest and largest investment banks warns ‘Greedflation’ has gone too far

Interesting article, the term "Greedflation" especially. This is the first time I come across this term and I like it. I understand that someone wants to be rich, but when is enough? Is there enough?

It's different when corporations wanted to get rich by selling their stuff to their consumers at a high price with cheap labor. But it's different when corporations are taking advantage of an event, i.e. pandemic, wars, to increased their prices and to make a lot of profits out of it. And that's what currently is happening in corporate America or even some in Europe.

And the bad side of it, specially if inflation are going to continue let's say in the next 5-10 years, this "Greedflation' could lead to a huge in balance and obviously make life hard to average joe who are just living from their week to week paycheck in order to survived. Let's give a example, you to go grocery and you see the price is too high and you can't afford it. So what's going to happen?

This has to stop, and the government need to step up to control the prices.
1405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Bad Economy on: April 08, 2023, 10:35:56 PM
People think Bitcoin could be a way to protect their money if the economy gets uncertain, especially if there's inflation or the value of money goes down. This is because there's only a limited amount of Bitcoin and it's not controlled by any one government or group.

I guess historically, Bitcoin has been tested to be a good hedge against economic uncertainties. The first use case of it is against the pandemic, we've seen that every traditional market has been affected when the news about the pandemic came out and how scary it was that time. Bitcoin goes down <$4k, however, we quickly bounce back and we even reach a new all time high in 2021. So it make sense for anyone, not just investors, but even just average joe, if they are smart to look for a asset to put their wealth to mitigate the risk of inflation.

But it's also important to remember that Bitcoin can be risky, just like any investment. It's smart to do your own research and talk to experts before you invest any money.

Any form of investment has risks not just Bitcoin though, it's just up to us how we are going to take it. Majority see the risk and volatility as a good indication so they trade and try to make money out of it. And with that, not sure if you need to talk to "experts". This is a non-traditional market, everyone here can be experts and can advise you and make their own wild and educated guess as where the price would go.
1406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price trajectory using AI on: April 08, 2023, 10:12:34 PM
So many cool things to do with ChatGPT.  I've been learning a lot about it, but haven't actually used it hands on yet.  I guess I'm still trying to wrap my head around how it all works before diving in and trying things.  This is interesting though.  As a believer in the 4-year cycle, I'm sure AI could estimate tops by extending the fractal, etc.  I see people having AI make videos and things now...  It's clear this is the future so it might be a good idea to keep an eye on ChatGPT's opinion, as I'm sure it will be more and more influential on things like markets going forward.  Really scary to be honest, but I think AI will start guiding society sooner than later.

It's different though when we compare what an AI can do like graphics and fractal and I even see making a short animated film with AI. But we should not confused it with prediction as it is very different and perhaps it's too early to used it specially in a market that is volatile as bitcoin is. Even some of those who have a lot of experience in technical analysis most of time are wrong with their predictions.

And I agree that the answer given is very generic,
✓ bitcoin market is a cycle, that's a fact and so we will reach new all time high in the next bull.
✓ BTC has been tested a good hedge in the pandemic.
✓ we have banking crisis now, government are printing money to salvage this bank

✓ Risk is already given as well, that's why we have the saying "Invest what you can afford to lose".
1407  Local / Pilipinas / {Babala}: Mag-ingat sa P2P trading on: April 07, 2023, 11:42:47 PM

Una ni block ko tong user na to: pero ni unblock ko at gusto kong imonitor, so far after nung attempt nya he 1 day ago sya before mag login. Ngayon eh 5 days ago na at mukhang hindi na active. At hindi na rin gumalaw yung buy/sell nya.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: April 07, 2023, 11:17:39 PM
Ok here is the official weigh in for the fight,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRQDiRXBLYw

Both fighters are within the limit, Yoshino clock in at 135 lbs even with Stevenson at 134.4 lbs. The announcer said that this is the WBC lightweight eliminator fight so who wins here will have a crack of the belt (either Haney or Loma depending on the result of their fight).

And I would say that there is also another must watch fight here in Keyshawn Davis vs Anthony Yigit. Keyshawn is a Olympian and coming up in ranks so I expect that this is going to be good fight between the two. They have been trash talking and you can even see in the final weigh in that they have to be separated. Both Shakur and Keyshawn are very close though, but perhaps in the future this two are going to clash as they are in the same weight class now as Shakur move to 135 lbs.
1409  Economy / Speculation / Re: functioning of prices, bitcoin and other crypto on: April 06, 2023, 11:39:06 PM
Hi everyone. Starting from the fact that I am almost totally ignorant of the subject, I wanted to know from some competent person if there are any macroeconomic data that
cause an almost immediate consequence on the price of cryptocurrencies. I also wanted to know if, by the same principle, there are "fundamental" data on individual cryptocurrencies, which publications cause an immediate
variation in the market. What I'm interested in is understanding if there is any correlation, even if minimal, as variation of  0.x %.
Thanks in advance

There is no single measuring stick or data that will tell us where the price is going to go, in every prediction we used tools like RSI, Bollinger Bands or MACD. As far as correlation, again, there were times that Bitcoin market is correlated to stocks or even bonds, but that is not always been the case. But we also have what we call FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt), so it will be all over in the social media to create panic amongst Bitcoiners and some of them might push the sell button, and so the price is going down hard.

But the very basic is explained by @Nrcewker, the law of supply and demand, so when there is a huge demand, the price goes up as the supply is very limited, specially that next year there will be Bitcoin block halving.

https://decrypt.co/resources/what-is-the-bitcoin-halving

So there is no one size fits all formula for the price, and that's why Bitcoin market is very volatile.
1410  Economy / Economics / Re: [Summary]Things to be considered for a possible market crash on: April 06, 2023, 11:07:09 PM
Maybe this time crypto will prove as a safe haven before previously when the economy was shocked by the pandemic, Bitcoin also follow that trend although it recovers easily compare to any market. Even if we don’t want this to happen, it looks like a crisis can’t be stop anymore its just a matter of time before we fully see the whole effect of this one. Attacking US might not be a good idea as well, many will surely be affected especially the smaller countries.

At least Bitcoin has proven itself to be a safe haven in the pandemic, that's one true case and we passed it with flying colors. And there are even arguments that the crypto market will go to zero, we go down hard the first week of announcement of pandemic, <$3k and everyone was shouting that we are doom. Nevertheless we bounce back in a month or two.

Despite the good Bitcoin mini-bull run, We can't deny the fact that the global economy is on the brink of a massive crash. This summary of news is a warning that a market in Bitcoin is still at the table. Keep safe guys! I will update this recap regularly to give everyone an easy overview.

Not sure how old are you, but the last economic crash of 2008 was really hard for me. I lost my job, but luckily the company gave us severance pay. And then I got back my job after two months. So I've learn a lot of that experience and it seems that history will repeat itself again in the coming years. The good thing is that now we have Bitcoin as a hedge for all what is happening right now, and I think it will still be safe, in my opinion.
1411  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion: Who is going to fill the gap of Chipmixer by the end of year 2023? on: April 06, 2023, 10:47:01 PM
Just like when  Bitmixer.io closes it's door in 2017, Chipmixer comes along and become the top mixing services not just in this community. And it seems that history will repeat itself, as we have a lot of tumblers that suddenly pops up as a result of Chipmixer being seized.

But as far as the question goes, it's really hard to say this early. There could be another one next year that will take over, who knows. And so far the competition is, currently it's between Mixero, Sinbad, Yo!Mix and Coinomize. But yeah, the more competition the better, they have to improved their services to cater to us and maybe we will see new innovation just like what Chipmixer did in 2017.
1412  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the Bitcoin (BTC) Halving? Will Bitcoin Price Really Be $100K Next Year? on: April 06, 2023, 10:28:42 PM
I guess this is what everyone is hoping to see, the price hitting $100k, and this is also the prediction of some well known model, back then that by the end of the bull run in 2022, we will hit 6 digits. But we all know that it didn't happen right. I would agree that this is just a prediction, a wild educated guess that everyone can make, and that there are no experts here.

However, it seems that there are a lot of factors that might contribute to the price hitting that $100k or more, right now we have the banking crisis and maybe there will be next big banks that are going to fall maybe next year that might fuel individuals, not just wealthy investors buy a simply average joe like you and me that will go and put our money into bitcoin because we don't want to lose it's value.

And if there is something that I've learn here, just continue to accumulate as little as you can and HODL on it till the next bull run. If we touch $100k then good, congrats, profits coming our way. If not, we still have our Bitcoin, and you can decide when to sell it.

Clear cooki & cache.

Tried, or you can tried with other domain (mirror link). There so much option, it's to be check your cache have some problem or not on that domain. Most the time are getting fixed by clear cooki & cache.

In-case the problem is only you, not from the platform.

Yeah, it seems that it is just me who are having problems. Anyhow, everything is clear now, I didn't do anything, perhaps there is some glitch on my system. Didn't clear my cookie & cachee (although I'm aware that this is the first thing to do). When I come back after 10 minutes or so, everything is ok now.

@Silberman - probably just my web browsers acting on me at that moment. I can get to other websites including this community and other platforms though. And again, it's just me having this issues but I just thought to ask everyone.

I will tail you with the Warriors handicap bet, it's going to be in their home court, and we all know how strong the Warriors is at Chase Center specially in the third quarter wherein they can change the complexion of the game. I also like the chances of T'Wolves against the Nets, T'Wolves ML for me.
And we won.

The Warriors somehow managed a good run in the 4th quarter. Even though they didn't have the lead for a long time, the energy can be seen on both ends of the floor.
Draymond Green and Kevon Looney, these guys are very critical for this team. Looney's offensive rebounding had been impressive since the start, he won't stop trying to get a second opportunity for the team.
That's their last game in Chase Center for the season. The other two games left will be on the road, I hope they can win their games.

Your Timberwolves ML won too. Nice. Congratulations.
My Grizzlies bet didn't cover the spread. Ouch!

Yeah, it was fun to watch the Warriors, you just have to trust them that they will make a huge run in the last two quarters and that's what they did here. Jordan Poole was the man in the fourth quarter, but Steph may have put the dagger with that 3 to push their lead. It was a suffocating defense on their side, with Draymond and then Looney with the offensive rebounds. And Donte and GPII when they both played in the floor, is a beauty to see them play defense.

My T'Wolves live betting:

While the Jazz give the Lakers all they can take and force an OT. Here is my live betting parlay with the Over and Warriors winning:

For the Nuggets, they lost to the Houston Rockets, live betting here:

While I was able to get Memphis at -1.5 when they are down in the fourth or the score is tied at 96-96 (it was very ugly at the start of the fourth quarter hehehe).

Has anyone had any experience with histakes.io ?

No, I haven't heard this casino before, so most likely everyone here hasn't had that experience playing at that platform because majority here chooses to gamble to casinos that has build their reputation here. Not saying that they have a bad reputation, but we don't like to take risk and then face issues later when we win and then we can't withdraw our money.

As @Dr.Bitcoin_Strange, the best thing to do is to make some noises on their social media account to get their attention so that the support or even the owner themselves will see your issue and maybe they will respond to you in timely manner. Just be ready though to prepare your accounts or even KYC if they are going to asked you to send to them before they will allow you to withdraw (it could have been in their ToS).
1419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Banks are collapsing. Will Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies rise from here?? on: April 04, 2023, 11:47:41 PM
In my country there are several central bank branches, many of which are closed due to the rapid increase in crypto investment. and the public bank is just a cash withdrawal of money. maybe it will continue to reduce bank branches in terms of the tv news that I see. The era of technological progress will continue to grow rapidly

I don't get it, banks in your country are closing because people are withdrawing their funds and putting in to crypto? If that is the case then it's a big win for crypto, however, it might have a bad effect in your country if the banking system are going to collapse, just like any other big banks right now. We don't want this to happen though, but it seems that we can't stop this from happening, and this is probably the offshoot of the current economies, it's so bad that the value of money is nothing now, the so called "mickey mouse money".

It's difficult to say definitively why individuals are choosing to move their money into Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. While events like the collapse of banks may contribute to people's decisions, there could be a variety of other factors at play as well.

We can only speculate why individuals are choosing BTC or other cryptocurrencies, here are few reasons that I can think off.

(1) hedge against inflation
(2) possible to make profits, let's say in the next bull run, their money can grown 10x
(3) be your own bank, you have total control of it, you can withdraw anytime, anywhere
(4) pseudo anonymity
1420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince a sceptical person to buy Bitcoin ? on: April 04, 2023, 11:30:48 PM
Although within this community Bitcoin is practically the only currency in which everyone believes, just look around a bit and we will find thousands of people who think otherwise.
At this point I wonder, what reasons should we give these people to make them realise that Bitcoin is a right choice? The first argument that comes to mind to convince a person who is sceptical about Bitcoin, is first of all that with Bitcoin you no longer need to delegate the custody of your money to a third party (banks, mutual funds, etc.): you are the master and you hold them. What else would you add?

It's really hard to convince someone though, I mean you can tell them all the benefits, the pros of owning BTC and yet maybe the majority of them are not going to invest. So it's better not to at this point, it's all over the headlines though, by now majority could have heard about it in news and social media and other means. It's really up to this individuals to invest or try it out, if not then we can't do anything about it.

Yes, we wanted to help everyone to get over with the current economic issues that a individual may have been experiencing. But you can't help everyone here and maybe they have their own opinion already on BTC and that they have close their minds on it. So no amount of convincing will change their close mindset.
