1741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 03, 2023, 10:44:56 PM
Donaire could be considered everyone's personal favorite at this point. And in all honesty I would really wish for him to carry om boxing for as long as he likes, but there comes a time when one should call it quits lest they risk their retirement life being like Ali's, especially in contact sports like boxing. Altogether I'm pretty sure he'll put his A-game in this fight as always. He always does. But at some point he would need to hang the gloves for good. This fight, if it ends in a win, could be it.

Against Alejandro, for sure Donaire will be the A-side here due to the fact that the former hasn't faced big names in boxing yet in his career, unlike Donaire who has been in war many times and won most of the time. He will be hanging up his gloves for good maybe after two more fights and i could say that Donaire is just so lucky that he is in this situation wherein he could fight for a championship where the opponent's skill level is way below him, Moloney even avoid him for title fight.

Yep, he will be the A-side in this fight, actually in all of the bantamweight fights that Donaire could have in the future, he could be the A-side of all of it since Inoue has left. The timing though, when we thought he wanted to go down to 115 lbs and chase more belts, Inoue suddenly moves up that open doors for him again to fight for the bantamweight belt. Of course at some point, every boxer will have to hang their gloves for good and retire. And this fight could be a good testament for it, whether he can still fight or he doesn't have it anymore in his system.
1742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 03, 2023, 10:34:34 PM
Based on the recent past with Benavidez and the wins by Plant, I don't think it will be an easy win fight for Benavidez and he could also lose to Plant following he used cocaine in his fights before which is against the rule. I'd place a bet on Caleb Plant as he signed this contract and came ahead to fight out, and I believe that passion pays off so if Benavidez loses to Plant, it'll prove that he used to win his matches due to his drug addiction.

I agree though, but I don't now what is in the system of David right now as he has been bursting with confidence him and his father are really getting into Caleb and they wanted to win a knockout.

And David said that he wanted to go as high as cruiserweight division,

Quote
“So right now, I definitely want to go up to 175,” said Benavidez to Fight Hub TV during a recent interview. “I know I can win the belt at 175.”

I think it’s definitely very possible but right now, my sights are on 68. I want to be unified world champion at 68, go up to 75 and I think it definitely could be a possibility, cruiserweight.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/david-benavidez-rule-out-future-cruiserweight-run--172841

But it will already be difficult to fight at 75 with Beterbiev and Bivol, he has history with Bivol though as they used to be sparring partners in the past. But let's see first if he can deliver what he has been saying in this fight against Caleb Plant.
1743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 03, 2023, 10:24:37 PM
I can't really say that I totally expected that outcome because at the back of my mind, it's hard to disregard that the Lakers are much more vulnerable in that game because there was no LeBron and Davis on the court to help them and lift the team whenever they needed it. But it shows that they can still manage well and the absence of both superstars gave Schroder a moment to gain another experience that will help him to be more confident during clutch time or intense games especially if they can participate in the play-in.
Yes, exactly!
Well, even though the Lakers aren't that far off OKC in the championship.

Now, if the Lakers manage to maintain a great consistency of victories with or without LJ and AD, that will be a good sign (which in my opinion this could happen).
The Lakers will do anything to get a seed in these playoffs!

Tomorrow they will play against the Timberwolves, it will be an interesting game to watch, as Minnesota is in a similar position to the Lakers in the championship, I have no doubt that this victory will be important for both teams

Man, I can say all the bottom teams in the West needs every win they could possible get for the remainder of the season, so every game is a very important game that someone who's vital for the team needs to play even with a minor injury. #4 down to #13 does not guarantee a playoff spot until the season is over. With less than 20 games remaining in the season, games will get interesting to watch.
I'm not so certain about the Lakers though if both LeBron and AD is out.

Yes, every game is very important now that they are vying a set in the playoff, even in the bottom could have a chance against the play in if they suddenly win games in a bunch. So there is no safe position for them, Lebron and the new Lakers are trying to do that as well. Getting the win without AD and Lebron and put themselves in the position to be in the play in at least till Lebron and AD be back in the line up. At least a play in is there target, it might be difficult, but seems the current roster is up to the task, they are young and taking this opportunity as well to play. They are going to play the Wolves, and it's in their homecourt so the chance for them to win again is high.
1744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 03, 2023, 10:14:10 PM
Ok we have a new order for the IBF bantamweight,

it will be Emmanuel Rodriguez vs Melvin Lopez as ordered by IBF. So everything has taken shape now since Inoue has vacated all the belt.
Donaire vs Santiago, (WBF)
Astrolobio vs Moloney (WBO)
Takuma Inoue vs Solis (WBA)

So that's what the bantamweight will look like for this year and the vacancy will be filled by this fights.
And it's good to see at least 2 Filipino on that list, Donaire and Astrolobio vying for the vacant belt in the bantamweight. There is still one, Reymart Gaballo, but for sure he will get the first crack on the belt since he is also a rank boxer in bantamweight. Might be hard for Filipinos to make it 2-0 here, specially Astrolobio who is facing Jason Moloney.

Now it's clear, Moloney ducked the fight against Donaire because he is afraid to have another loss against another Asian boxer who do have a strong KO power. Now he is taking his chance to have the WBO belt against another Asian boxer who is also fellow countryman of Donaire, but I don't think he will just have an easy journey towards the belt because Astrolabio also got a decent chance and is also hungry and been waiting for this chance to come.

Yes it was clearly a duck to me as well, how him and Top Rank try to avoid Donaire at all cost and just hiding on their own reasons like doesn't want to work with Probellum, Donaire's promotion but in the past did they that.

In any case, they might underestimate Astrolabio here, maybe they thought it's going to be an easy fight for them. But they forget that he is also a Filipino with a big heart and he had a good chin as well. So expect this also to be a war for Moloney. And he could end up bloodied as he is known to be cut very easy, so not an easy fight for him and maybe Vincent can pull an upset here.
1745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: March 03, 2023, 10:04:51 PM
Thurman ducked Spence for years when he was the champion and they were both under Al Haymon.

Thurman has always been scared of Spence and knows he'll got KO'ed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Spence stops him out easily if they ever fight.

We cannot really confirm that whether if it is true or not, those are just speculations made in the past and up until now.

Besides, we cannot really blame Thurman if he didn't gave Spence a chance for a title shot few years back because back at the day, welterweight is still a pretty stacked-up division. You got names like Pacquiao and Mayweather on the same division, while Spence at that time was still a hotshot haven't got a chance because a fight with him is not profitable. You know that boxing is always business first.

Yes, and on the other hand, there are reports saying that Spence duck Thurman when he become a champion. So we really don't know who duck who during Thurman's prime and reign as 147 lbs. They are still both under Al Haymon, but we all know that Spence is now the A-side in that stable.

But now we will have a chance to see it, maybe it was 2-3 years late though, as Thurman got injured and then he fight Manny because that is the biggest paycheck for him.

Right! That is the trouble now because Spence Jr. still got the bigger slice of the cake even if he doesn't have anything to offer at 154 because he is not the champion, it's Jermell Charlo. To be fair, they both belong to the same stable, the PBC, so this fight should be in plain 50-50 even if Spence is called the PPV King as there's no risks in this fight. These governing bodies should uphold their name and provide a fair and square fight, but I guess that's really too much to ask these days.

I agree, but it's the other way around, it's the promoters now and networks that hold this governing bodies and they just simply follow what this influential boxing promoter wants, like Al Haymon in this case. They have been in the shadows doing it, but this time it was very obvious.

A 147 lbs champion, then fighting a higher weight and his belt not on the line.

So this will definitely set a precedence in the boxing world and maybe we will see more of this kind of fights in the coming years.
1746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 02, 2023, 11:54:11 PM

Media always talk about his name he got a legendary status already and any news about him is a big scope for them since there are so many people following an update regarding on his career path. Maybe he really need to win this fight since recently he encounter those upsetting lose and maybe this win is important to him since he can get back the glory as a champ under his name again if he win this.

The dude is about to retire and having an unforgettable win just before he wears out his gloves, will be one of his happiest moments as a pro boxer. Just like any other boxer after they came from a loss, this one is no different and I'm sure he will gonna be putting everything here to give us the most exciting and entertaining fight to remember. Santiago is also lucky to have him as his opponent for that title and if he can beat him because of some lucky punches or something like that, he will still the show and become one of the most popular boxers overnight.

A good win which could leave him a gokd record will be a sign enough for him to decide about his retirement. Of course, they will not quit and retire after a bad loss because they will surely recover from it and would still ask for a rematch.
Regarding Donaire, I hope he could focus on his training now that he's having some issues with his wife and his dad. He really needs to focus after his previous defeats.

Not good to retire coming from a huge lose so I guess Donaire's camp want to get a good victory before he hang up his gloves and announce his full retirement. But as he's eagerness to get more fight it make me also think that he want more maybe just for the sake of money since getting a match give him a good pay cuts so I guess there's little part of it is for profit since he will never earn that money again if he retire.

Its like grabbing the opportunity while he can able to do it.
Is Donaire really that old enough? I dont see for it to be the right time to hang up his gloves or maybe he should push up 2-3 fights more before he would retire and its true that on the time that he hang up his gloves

then there's no way that they could earn huge amount out of those fights. Its up into their own decision but for sure they would be aiming for the glory that they could possibly attained. No one really knows on whats up

into their plans into their minds because whether they would be calling it enough on the time he beat up Santiago and get the belt then decides to retire or simply
exiting out with some glorious victory.

He can definitely pull the trigger mate, he has fought in the last 2 years or so, it just that when he fight Inoue, he hit that wall.

Nevertheless he can still fight and his left hook is still very deadly and could lay everyone on the floor because it has power behind. But he might be cautious though, I mean it could be just case to case basis, and so in this one this is for the championship belt so it's very difficult to turn this opportunity again. So if he wins then he goes and fight again, if he losses turn him and Rachel Donaire will have to sit down and talk what will be their next move.
1747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 02, 2023, 11:43:59 PM
Callum Smith vs Stepien Clash - Smith withdraw from the fight because it is reported that he has suffers a injury.

But the fight will move forward:

Quote
The event will go ahead, shown live worldwide on DAZN (excluding Australia and New Zealand), with Diego Pacheco’s WBO International Super-Middleweight Title showdown with Jack Cullen and Robbie Davies Jr’s Super-Lightweight scrap with Darragh Foley now co-headlining.

https://www.matchroomboxing.com/news/injury-forces-smith-out-of-stepien-clashj-march-11-show-goes-ahead-with-pacheco-vs-cullen-and-davies-jr-vs-folley-co-headlining/

It doesn't says what injury it was though, but maybe the BBBoC will released such statement later.
1748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: March 02, 2023, 11:34:02 PM

I check 2 sports bookies and so far the only is odds listed is the ML, so no value if we are going to bet on Shakur. But if we wanted to go for the Japanese underdog at 7.x, now is the time to bet (but as I have said, the chances are slim to win either by decision or ko/tko).

So let's wait for more line to be offered, maybe we can see some value if there will be more options for Shakur like winning by decision or even winning by knockout or which round. Maybe the referee will have to stop it when he sees the Japanese taking more damage from Shakur jab and pin point accuracy in this match.

Enticing for gambler who love to take the big risk and hope for some luck, 7x of your initial bet would be nice if the Japanese
fighter will manage to upset Shakur.

Yes, there might be some gamblers willing to take that huge risk and bet on the underdog here. Perhaps some of his Japanese might will do.

For sure, there are gamblers who will take the ML for Shakur even the winning odd is small, some might place a big amount to win
decently.

While for loyal fans who support Shakur, chances that even with small possible winnings it will add to their enjoyment while
watching the fight.

On the other hard, there is also Shakur's fan, not sure though if they are taking that ML because the returns are not profitable, unless they are whales or have deep pockets. Of course or money will be on Shakur, but we will have to wait for other betting options, to at least get a good odds for or money in this fight. Decision or later stoppage might be a good option to look at this fight.
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos lack slot clubs; comps, is it hard to achieve? on: March 02, 2023, 11:24:12 PM
I've noticed the loyalty programs of online casinos ranging from withdrawal limits to bonuses, but they're not as enticing as the local casino's slot clubs in places like Las Vegas Casino and Caesar's casino in Atlantic city for instance, that offer comps to active players; free hotel rooms, food, shows and events etc. We play online and how can such a club be useful or achievable? shipping comps to players for time spent and money lost playing online isn't it a strong marketing technique for an online casino that wish to boost its customer base and attract more players? Was wondering and even researched to see online casino slot clubs, but didn't find any. Do you belong to a slot club offline or online? Maybe the free playing bonus represents that for online casino, yet players complain how difficult it is to win playing with bonus.

Do you think online casinos should step up and offer items to consistent low rollers in their platform?

Yeah, I have been a member of several online casinos in my area, few benefits here and there but sometimes I will be chosen as random winners, but just for small winnings, but in terms of like raffles for cars, I have never won it.

Although one time as a member I was given a free hotel stay for a night or two.

I'm not a high roller or something though. As for those so called "free" bonus, the chances are very slim to win on it, but I know people who got money from just free spins being offered by some casinos.
1750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 02, 2023, 11:14:05 PM
Coming from Figueroa this has the making of a fight of the year
Quote
“I think me and Mark Magsayo will be another fight of the year candidate – a firefight. We’re both explosive fighters and powerful hitters, and I feel that it will be a very interesting night.

“I think the fans will be the winners because Magsayo doesn’t back down and I don’t back down. We’re going to give it all in the ring.”
https://www.ringnews24.com/2023/03/02/brandon-figueroa-and-mark-magsayo-fight-for-world-title-shot-on-saturday/

There's so much expectation for this fight because we all know in boxing style makes a fight and we have two fighters with the same style of boxing and that is moving forward and slugging it out, it all comes down to preparation and who wants it the most, only one day to go I hope both fighters makes the weight I'm sure they both will

Yes, this is possible, I mean I will agree that both are explosive fighters, Brandon as we have said, is a volume puncher and we know that such a power will really throw everything in a fight so it's either Magsayo responds with power as well, or just to counter in the whole fight, but he is not known to be that fighter. So there will be rounds that Brandon is taking the lead in the fight and then Magsayo coming back later for a huge surge in later rounds and will try to go for a knockout, so it's going to be war between this two.
1751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 02, 2023, 11:04:15 PM
When Durant and Booker play together, the Suns can win the match very easily. Against the Hornets, I think they were pretty good. It's just that Durant's injury would be pretty bad for the team, that's what scares me. If he doesn't lose his health, the Suns could have a huge success in the playoffs this year.
Durant has been a pretty good basketball player for this team. I hope they get used to the team soon and they can play better together

An injured Hornets team probably wasn't the best test but it was a good warm up with Durant.  Probably why they targeted this game instead of against the Bucks.  Durant played great but Booker was still the leader of the team out there.  I suspect that will slowly start to change but for now Booker is the one hoisting all the shots.  You can't look passed the fact that Durant in his first game back shot 66% from the field and looked good out there.  So strange seeing him shoot three pointers in a Suns uniform.  That's something I didn't really think I'd ever see but am happy that it's happening.  I need to take a look at the schedule and pick a game to see him live.

True, the Suns waited for this moment, to bring Durant against a not so good team in Hornets, to just get his blood going in the game and we are not disappointed. But for sure he will still be in restriction, he just got back from another injury so most likely 20 minutes per game for him will be enough to see how he is. Tomorrow another team that they have a good chance to beat is the Bulls, and then on March 6 it will be Kyrie and Durant facing each other for the first time after the trade.
1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 02, 2023, 10:53:35 PM
Yeah, seems the majority has won their bets, so it's a good night for us,  Grin

Raptors vs Wizards - hard to break down this game, 9th and 10th team right now, but I will go with the Wizards at ML.
Mavs vs Sixers, - Sixers back to back games, they are going to be tired, -2.5 for Dallas @1.87
San Antonio vs Pacers - Indiana, -5.5 @1.86
1753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 02, 2023, 11:50:14 AM
Ok we have a new order for the IBF bantamweight,

Donaire vs Santiago, (WBF)
Astrolobio vs Moloney (WBO)

1754  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price guess for March on: March 01, 2023, 11:53:19 PM
I think we are closer to hit $25k this month as oppose to getting to $20k. I mean we are still very much in the bullish state, and when the price goes down below $23k, we immediately see a lot of buyers pushing it back to $24k and above.

Not just enough push to $25k though, but I'm still very positive that we can reach this barrier again and then we see how it goes. Whether we can maintain it and even pushes more to $26k. Or speculators selling at this price point again.
1755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I've been scared to invest in bitcoin on: March 01, 2023, 11:44:18 PM
I know volatility is a natural thing that can happen to any investment. However, it will be good to address this issue because from where I come from people are scared of investing in bitcoin, they feel its risky. Personally,  I feel there should be an increased regulatory body which will help people like me not to be scared. There should be an improvement in bitcoin infrastructure, some of these wallet aren't even user friendly and also, there should a transparency in the market. I'm still learning about the best wallet to use as a newbie though.

My question is this, is it possible for bitcoin to be completely immune to volatility in years to come?

Bitcoin is being traded 24x7x365 days, which means that it doesn't have time to close or anything. And with that, it will be very volatile as there are constant buyers and sellers in every exchanges.

So volatility will be part of the ecosystem and I think this is one aspects of BTC that some are scared of because it's risky like you. But there are the majority of investors and traders and speculators who love that and will take advantage of it to make money.

Really up to you whether to invest and embrace that risk, or go for more traditional asset like stocks or gold.

Not feeling well yesterday, so I skip everything. For tonight's game,

Suns vs Hornets, - Durant's debut as Phoenix Suns, -9.5 @1.85
Knicks vs Nets - Nets 7.5 @1.92
Cavs vs Celtics - Cavs 4.5 @2.04
Grizzlies vs Houston - Memphis -9.5 @1.88
1757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 01, 2023, 10:59:35 PM
Anyway, we have an upcoming fight this Sunday GMT+8, Saturday night for Eastern Time. A good one brought to us by Showtime.
Will be held in Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
Brandon "The Heartbreaker" Figueroa versus Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo
12 rounds of boxing.
Title: WBC interim featherweight
Stake.com odds.
Figueroa @1.33
Magsayo @3.25
Seems many people are underestimating Magsayo here, bet him in moneyline option is already worth it without going to winning method. The fight will be similar like Magsayo fought Rey Vargas, Magsayo isn't completely lose at that time, so I expect Magsayo should able to win since he have learnt from his experience. If he's still lose, he might become Ancajas where there's no hype anymore and he need to fight few boxers before taking a challenge with the champion.

Yes, I think the ML option is already a very attractive one already, if he losses this fight, he will go back in the Philippines for sure and have some finds in there first to get back on his feet again.

So very critical for him to win against Brandon to make his name still relevant in this division, otherwise, it might take a while for him to bounce back again and make a name in this weight class. The most difficult part is that this weight division is also pretty much stack up with elite fighters.
1758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 01, 2023, 10:47:44 PM
I tell you bro, it's not Russell Westbrook which is the problem. I think Coach Ty Lue is still having a hard time adjusting to the new player rotation.

It's worth noting that Westbrook has performed well, considering he's already made two double-doubles in two of the three games he's played with the Clippers. So he's obviously not the reason why the Clippers have lost three games in a row. The only thing the signing of Westbrook has really affected is Mann's playing time, and as a result, Mann's efficiency has gone way down.
So you're probably right about Coach Ty Lue.

Yes, it's not WB's fault at all, but as you have said, their balance has been affected, Mann is a good contributor as well but Ty Lue decided to switch and give WB more playing team and with that, they are not winning games.

And that's what we have been saying for the Clippers, if they don't know where to fit WB then definitely it will affect them in the long run.

Of course, WB given more playing time will produce numbers for him, but in the end, what's importance is that they are winning, but in this case, they haven't get that hump with WB as Clippers.
1759  Economy / Gambling / Re: NAKAMOTO ROULETTE launched today on: February 27, 2023, 11:52:20 PM
I haven't created a full account on this site, but it's good that you can test it like the roulette which I enjoyed. There are games that are really live in a casinos as I have bet together with someone on the floor, it's that I don't understand the language, lol, but I don't see that as a big problem.

I actually turn the free money to like x6 on the roulette last night. It was fun on my end, although it's free money, I still bet like it was just real money because that will be my strategy, the same when I decided to create an account and deposit. Let's see, what games I will want to try next.
1760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 27, 2023, 11:16:25 PM
People are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Spence vs Thurman fight, which is one of the biggest fights of the year even though it's not a title fight.

I think it's not. People are not eager to watch Spence vs Thurman because that was a disappointment.

Spence vs. Crawford is the one that people want to watch. Another thing, if not against Crawford, Spence should defend his title at 148 but instead, he will fight at 154. Thurman can be a mandatory challenger too at 148 but in the end, they will fight at 154 with no title at stake.

How can people be interested in watching this match if that's pure nonsense?

Definitely, the most anticipated fight that we want in this division is Spence vs Crawford. And now we have [Boxing]: Eimantas Stanionis vs Vergil Ortiz Jr - April 29, which is a true 147 lbs fight.

Then the David vs Garcia and Haney vs Loma, I think this is the fight that boxing fans are willing to pay to watch live and in PPV. This fight is just for Spence to move on because of the failed fight with Crawford and then picking as somewhat a still good boxer in Thurman but no belt on the line. So in cases he lost, he can go back to 147 and defend his belt. Very wise decision on the side of Spence, and too bad that Thurman want's to be his dance partner.
