1841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Do Gamblers Do This? on: February 21, 2023, 04:14:08 PM
In this forum and other forums where gambling is one of the topics of discussion, one of the recurrent topics is people who write about how their gambling addiction has ruined their lives. We usually encounter topics like "Gambling ruined my life,"  "I lost all my life savings to gambling,"  "I gambled away my entire salary," etc. Then they go on to tell a sad tale. It makes me wonder: why do gamblers tend to wait until they have suffered a catastrophic loss or a string of losses before quitting or seeking help?

Well in gambling, regrets are usually in the end. So when everything is working ok and you are winning in the beginning, you might not think of quitting to be honest. And so you go on, whether noticing that you are being eaten alive by this casinos as you continue to deposit and lost big money and then the big excuse, "gambling ruined my life" scenario in the end. Wherein you could have prevent it if you have total control of your self, but you chooses not to because it's enjoyable in the beginning.
1842  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic implications of a US-China-Taiwan conflict on: February 21, 2023, 03:42:37 PM
They have been in trade wars for years now and obviously, it has an effect on both countries. But if they started a full scale war then everyone will be affected, specially countries in the South East Asia (specially I live in Philippines wherein our government are still undecided, but it looks like the newly government will be in the US side), they will be torn apart.

For the global economy, it might hit harder as well, it will disrupt the world economy and it's hard to recovery if the war lasted for years.

but we will all know which sides are countries are going to take here.
That's a really strange situation not just with Philippines but with multiple Chinese neighbors specially when you look at the world map and see that all the neighbors have been slowly choosing a pro-US policy. Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea are the main ones that are challenging China in East and South China sea for US!

Yes, but I can only speak from here, I mean the last government play it's cards very well. The Duterte administration, was somewhat in the middle as far as it's policy on US and China is. But as we have a new government lead by the former dictator son's, and his name namesake, Ferdinand Marcos Jr, it's was a total shift in the policy against the Chinese.

I could understand competition with China and resistance against Chinese influence and growth but to go full anti-China and becoming friendly with US that we all know will abuse all these countries for their own benefit and at their cost makes no sense.

True, but probably with the situation right now? government around neighboring South East Asia might have to choose between the lesser of two evil and  that could mean they are in the side of United States.
1843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 20, 2023, 11:48:06 PM
I am rooting also for Donaire on this match, despite his age, because he is quite active so not hard for him to prepare for this fight.
Bookies may favor Donaire on this one, his current ranking  whether on The Ring, WBC or WBA is also higher than Santiago.

For sure we all gonna root for Donaire to win again and become the oldest bantamweight champion and his chances are good, just matter of execution and with his experience, he might do it again.

He once hold that record when he beat NORDINE OUBAALI.
NONITO DONAIRE BECOMES OLDEST BANTAMWEIGHT CHAMPION IN BOXING HISTORY BY CRUSHING NORDINE OUBAALI WITH FOURTH-ROUND KO

If he wants to make history again, he should try to become a champion again and retire as a champion. On paper, it sounds good, but if Donaire is still aiming to make more money after winning this fight, I have no doubt that he'll continue fighting. His status has already gained the attention of the fans as the oldest champion who is still winning and continues fighting challengers.

Yes, and again, he will reclaim his belt and make a 3rd reign in this bantamweight division. So a lot at stake for Donaire in this fight. I agree the money is still there to motivate him and other boxers and continue to box.

I also do agree that once Donaire retire, he will be in the HOF because of his accomplishments. So this is going to be special and sweet for him if ever he beat Santiago and holds that record.
1844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 20, 2023, 11:38:57 PM
We would really be seeing here on how Inoue would be able to handle it out specially on this higher weight division.Changes on weight might not be that much but we cant really that deny that speed
might really be that affected as higher weight division do sets in.I wont say that Fulton could be easily be knocked down considering that his a belt or title holder on this divsion
but it seems that Inoue is really that confident that he could snatched it up easily and directly going against Fulton instead the other one.

I disagree that Inoue's speed will affect here at 122. He will perform like he's fighting at 118 here.

Yes, we will not see any effect as far as his speed and power is concern, on the contrary, he might be faster and more powerful as 122 lbs.

Obviously too that Inoue is confident because why not be like that in a boxing match? Fulton on the other hand is also confident. Imagine a title match and they are not confident to win? With both boxers' reputations, we should expect that this match will be toe-to-toe.

I also do hope that Fulton is the one who can give Inoue a tough fight as never in the career of the Japanese boxer really struggles the whole fight.

Fulton style might give difficulty to Inoue in the early rounds. He could be slick and his style might be new to Inoue. But once the Monster has adjusted and see what Fulton is doing, he might executed his favorite straight right and then jab his way to the body and soften Fulton and take him out in the later part of the round for a TKO/KO victory.
1845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 20, 2023, 06:16:52 PM
I don't know what you mean by another level though, Thurman will be the underdog here because of his recent performance plus he will be fighting a prime Spence who is just beating everyone at 147 lbs.

Experience wise it will be Thurman as he has been longer in the game, however, he had a long lay off before, then losing to Manny.

So if there will be prediction here by the majority, I think they will go with Spence.

I believe the outcome of Thurman's last fight has no connection to why he is the underdog here. Even if he won impressively, he would remain an underdog since Spence is currently in his prime, undefeated, and ranked in the top 3 of the pound-for-pound rankings, if I'm not mistaken. And the fact that this fight is a non-title fight, I guess Thurman does have a decent chance, as Spence might not bring the energy he usually brings to a fight.

Yes, regardless if that Thurman fight, he will still be the underdog against Spence.

But I think the point is that Thurman didn't look good in his last fight, everyone expects him to have a statement win against a overblown 140 lbs in Barrios. Or maybe Barrios is just as tough as anyone in this division as he won his comeback fight.

Spence though need to bring his A-side against Thurman, as you have said, maybe Thurman doesn't look good against Barrios, but for sure the stakes is high in this fight and we might see him bring his best against a prime Spence.
1846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 20, 2023, 06:06:47 PM
I’m a little bummed to hear that Kevin Love is going to sign with the Miami Heat. I’d really hoped to see him reunite with LeBron in Los Angeles or I think he would’ve been a great addition to the Warriors. I think Westbrook signing with the Clippers should be good. He’s got history with Paul George and Kawhi wanted a point guard so that seems like a decent fit.

Oh, I thought that he loves to play with Dame in Portland. For the Lakers though, it seems that they are loaded with Kevin Love's position so doesn't make sense for them to sign him.

It's interesting though that Miami is interested with Kevin at this point, he could be used for his experience for sure specially his outside 3 which I think is still very effective for Love's position and his age. Just spot shooting without having to go and bang himself every game till the end of the season.
1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 20, 2023, 05:55:02 PM
Congrats, I intentionally skipped betting on this game, although I just put one bet and when I lost, that's it.

Glad to see that players and fans a like did enjoy Team Giannis vs Team Lebron games, yeah, it's All star so I don't expect any defense at all. Even in the time of Jordan, everyone is trying to have some fun score so it's all good. Tatum though is in full offensive in this game, just imagine if Steph is on this game as well, hehehe. So they still have a couple of days rest before they go back to regular playing.
1848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 20, 2023, 05:45:42 PM
Good that Magsayo is the underdog here, I think for us backers and supporters of Mark for sure we are willing to take that risk and bet on the ML or other odds that is higher. If even if he losses here and our bets, I think this is still going to be a good fight as Mark is going to carry our flag again.

Fight is getting closer, pull our trigger now, hehehe.

Hopefully Magsayo will go all out, this is his ticket to gain his reputation in this division.
1849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Eimantas Stanionis vs Vergil Ortiz Jr - April 29 on: February 19, 2023, 11:58:20 PM
Here is Vergil Ortiz highlights, knock out of all of his opponents,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwSzeQzgLfI

Obviously, you can see and even hear the power when it touches his opponents whether on face or in the body. The way he punch them though in the body is very different, it's like a straight right, not the one that we usually show like a left hook to the body. And I think the straight might be more devastating because his opponents will usually take a knee and can't get up in time.
I agree Ortiz is kind of scary in how he delivers his knockout punches I already posted Stanionis will be tested here because he has not faced someone like Ortiz, Stanionis can deliver an upset why not, but for him to get that upset he'll have to go through a lot of pain and take a lot of risks.
Vergil is the top guy to beat in the welterweight he should be in the spotlight because of his style and power, there are a lot of existing fights to consider in the welterweight division if only promoters will agree to let them fight the best in that division, hopefully, this year we'll see an Ennis - Ortiz- Crawford- Spence fights for the undisputed king of welterweight.

Stanionis style might closely resembles Kavaliauskas, tough rugged fighter from Lithunia, but obviously, Ortiz just smothered him with power punches that he has no answer and seems to quit the fight until referee Laurence Cole stopped the fight because Kava doesn't want to fight anymore because he has taste the power of Vergil already.

So might be the same strategy for Vergil, put up a show with his power and it's hard for Stanionis to counter. He should be like hit and then hug Vergil to not get him his momentum. But it's going to be a boring fight for us.
1850  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you appreciate more Desktop or Phone on: February 19, 2023, 11:43:45 PM
This is an old debate, hehehe, but for me, right now I'm a old head and I wanted to use my desktop or laptop more often. But currently, I'm leaning towards playing on my mobile now, I don't know maybe I was influence by my wife because they are now playing all online and they are having fun with it.

So I'm just curious as to what is the buzz all about and I found out that they are playing slots the other night. So I immediately jump on and deposit some and play the game. But I get tired and hand it over to my wife to continue to play. And then the next night, I still continue to play with the same capital because we didn't lose everything. So maybe I'm addicted again but this time playing slots on mobile phone now.  Grin
1851  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic implications of a US-China-Taiwan conflict on: February 19, 2023, 11:33:30 PM
There are rumors that the US will enter a full-scale war with China once it invades Taiwan in 2025. If we thought the Russo-Ukraine war was coming to an end, then we ain't seen nothing yet. Such a catastrophe within the world's biggest economies (US and China) could lead us to a very dark future where the global economy collapses for good. After all, the US is the biggest economy in the world followed by China. Things will get worse if Russia is still at war with Ukraine by the time this happens. It seems like both China and Russia have ambitions to rule the world, so maybe a "New World Order" is upon us?

They have been in trade wars for years now and obviously, it has an effect on both countries. But if they started a full scale war then everyone will be affected, specially countries in the South East Asia (specially I live in Philippines wherein our government are still undecided, but it looks like the newly government will be in the US side), they will be torn apart.

For the global economy, it might hit harder as well, it will disrupt the world economy and it's hard to recovery if the war lasted for years.

but we will all know which sides are countries are going to take here.
1852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 19, 2023, 10:58:07 PM
Unfortunately, that's how the world works, rich and influential people can get away with it.

Anyhow, it's really hard to fathom that, but we might as well stay away from that issue and just again, hope that fight will happen. And probably this is one reason why so many people hate him like Bradley who also wishes that Ryan Garcia will knock him out cold so send him a rude awakening. Yeah, that ankle issue or him in a wheelchair could just be marketing ploy to sway people's opinion on him. But the question is, will it influence us? I don't think so.
I do not want to watch a criminal that has bribed his way out of jail if we do I hope to god that Ryan Garcia knocks him out in the 1st round. Why do so many fighters at the top of their career like Tank end up breaking the law and it is not small laws it usually includes them hurting and nearly killing people and then they get away with it. He should be stripped of his boxing license and not competing any more but boxing is corrupt and just want to make money from him and I bet they use this as a way of promoting the fight. It is disgusting what they do.

Again, I don't want to engage on such debates as what they do outside of their boxing career.

I do not think we should ignore the issue because we are part of the problem. He deserves to be booed out of the ring win or lose. He hurt a pregnant lady and he just run off. That is disgusting and shows his cowardice. I hope Garcia feels the same way and has extra motivation to knock him out and I hope he gives a post win speech about how disgusting it is that the boxing commission continues to support criminals.

Just like Floyd though, he has been booed inside and outside of the ring, but we can't deny his success.

So in any case we don't like the boxers, so it's better to bet against them, in this case go with Ryan and with a knockout win, specially if he will be the underdog in this fight. It will be very much satisfying if he is going to knock Tank Davis, it could break the internet with meme's.

But if by chance Davis won, then Tank haters will grow more.
1853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 19, 2023, 10:45:35 PM
It's Fulton's time now to break that momentum and protect his thrown. We will see who's going to stand tall after the fight.

Although he is the champion, it seems that we are hoping he will be able to survive against Inoue. The fight between Inoue and Donaire was quite different because Donaire was the challenger, while here, it's Inoue who is the challenger, but people view him as the champion.

The previous performance of Inoue makes us think that he is somehow invincible in 118lbs and possibly in 122 lbs that is why many thinks that Inoue had a better odds of winning than Fulton.

There is a huge pressure on Foltun because the majority of the fans do not believe he can beat the Monster, but let's see what happens during the fight night

Indeed since he is defending his title against the monster Inoue. But honestly, I think the pressure is on both party.   Pressure on Inoue is the expectation of the boxing fan that he will be explosive and beat Fulton via KO.  So if we are talking about the pressure, each boxer do have them.

Right, he is really invincible at 118 lbs, unifying all the belts and beat everyone and clean up that division. So obviously, it's a high expectation for him to do the same at 122 lbs starting with the champion in Fulton.

Pressure could be more in Inoue, but I think he can handle it, he is more prepared, and it seems that his mental focus is also maturing. That's why it is a very dangerous combination for boxers, not only did they have the skills, but if their mind is really zone in, this elite boxers are hard to beat.
1854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to run a bounty campaign? on: February 19, 2023, 10:32:35 PM
how to become a bounty manager i want to run bounty campaign so how can i run campaign please tell me

As a newbie? I doubt that any project are going to hire you right away to run their bounty campaign, it's not how it works here. You need to build your reputation and obviously you even don't have any experience, so I would say forget about it.

And why you want to become a bounty manager in the first place? it has a lot of responsibilities, and I don't know if you can cope up with it, so the pressure is there. Then you might work with some scam projects that don't pay and you will be the one going to be hit hard by complains from bounty hunters themselves. So that's my advise mate, if you really wanted to become one, build your reputation but it's not a easy task.
1855  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is getting ready for $25K, How? on: February 19, 2023, 10:21:39 PM
still waiting now mate ,  i thought we are ready to break but still now? we are being hinder to 24k https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/ this is still what I wanted to  achieved now to consider at least to sell? or to buy more because what I do believe is that once Bitcoin reached 25k then w will be  having 30k and more just this year.
but till now from your post? almost month after yet we can't see a clear vision of this being broken.
There's a strong resistance and selling pressure on 25k point which the price had able to touch it but didnt really last that long which means that bears arent really that over and now trying out to make suppressing the value but it turns out that it is really going back again and trying to touch it up once again. We dont know on when it would happen but at least the price is trying to cling up once again.
We are really that eager nor excited to see that 30k price once again and would shoot up all way over. Its been a while to see these numbers but im expecting that these things
would happen in the bull run.

Yes, selling pressure at that price range and after that big resistance in front of us as we are hovering around that price range in the last 2 days. Nevertheless, I don't see the bears can't take a hold of the market, still on the hands of the bulls. And there are plenty of time this February to hit that price, so I will not be surprised if bulls are going to push in.

As for the $30k, I think it might take some time. We need more momentum first. Buyers too have some pressures and could be tired specially in January wherein we have a huge 40% uptick. So let's see first that $25k again and maintain, that is the magic number for this month, in my opinion.
1856  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [NEWS] GCrypto is now available to selected users on: February 19, 2023, 10:10:16 PM
Read this news all over the social media pero personally hinde ko pa sya natratry but this is a good progress if available na sa nakakarami. Maganda si Gcash and very convenient, though hinde perfect when it comes to security but i hope they will improve more kase maraming issue with gcash especially yung mga nahack and nawalan ng pera sa gcash.

For now since nasa testing period palang ito, will wait muna sa mga future updates and if secured ba talaga ang crypto using gcash.

So widely available sya even sa ordinary citizens na baka magbalak mag invest. Tama rin, antay antay muna tayo ng mga updates nila sa susunod.
1857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 19, 2023, 09:59:05 PM
However, Donaire is now fighting a different opponent, so we'll most probably see the power that we're talking about in this fight.
That's guaranteed. The fact that Santiago does not have the KO power of Inoue means this fight might last longer if Donaire does not knock out Santiago. We all know that Donaire is still hungry for a win; he wants to be at the top again. And now that Inoue is not a hindrance anymore, he will certainly not waste this opportunity to come back at the top.
This will be an exciting match up for both boxer, as they try to get the belt being left by Inoue and with Donaire, this is a big opportunity to reclaim a championship title so better for him to start working on this and be more aggressive. Santiago is young with a good record as well so Donaire should not be complacent here if he wants to get another win for his record. I’m rooting for Donaire here, I wish him a good fight and will be ready to place a bet for Donaire.

We will see if Donaire has still the power inside the ring, now that Inoue is out for this weight division.

As per majority of speculation, he still has the power, it's the question on if he can still pull the trigger, and I would say yes.

I have the feeling that he wants to retire as a winner once and for all. Couple more years, and he's likely to hang his gloves.

Yes, as most of the high level boxers, they want to quit while they are on top, although the biggest contributors though is that boxers losing fights and can't compete and pull the trigger is the biggest reason why they don't want to do it.

1858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 19, 2023, 09:49:34 PM
It's more of a comeback fight and he should be showing us that he is ready for the big time show. Unfortunately, many of us see a different Thurman and made us conclude that he is no longer in his prime or somewhat getting old.
Every boxer sometimes have a not-so-satisfying performance, but we also have to remember that Errol Spence also struggle against an opponent, and that is against Porter when he only won via split decision, many of us think it's because of the injury he committed during a car crashed that's why he is not 100% yet, so it's the same story here. To stop this speculation, I think this fight should happen soon.

I think it's a satisfying fight for Spence, it should be a unanimous decision win against Porter, it was hard fought but I don't think that Porter wins enough round against Thurman.

We can all do our speculation, I'm not sure how you score the fight between Porter vs Thurman? do you see it the same as one of the judges who score it for Porter? How do you score that fight? You not satisfied with his win then?
1859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 19, 2023, 09:39:05 PM
Wow! We had great fights this weekend. I was late to realize that the Luis Nery vs Azat Hovhannisyan fight was promoted by GBP since the last time I saw Nery was fighting at PBC. Now Nery will have his 2nd title shot in this division and is waiting for the Inoue-Fulton winner. Nery is really vulnerable in this division.

In the other exciting fight this weekend, I'm so glad Mauricio Lara finally become the champion that he deserved already when he beat Josh Warrington earlier. Former champion Leigh Woods might activate the rematch clause though and will force Lara to return to the UK again.

Yes, mate it was another great boxing war, between Lara and Wood at London.

Here is the high-lights of the fight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ka0O4iPp32o. He wanted revenge so he needs to activate his rematch clause, but he took damage in this fight and maybe it will be the same results. Lara doesn't care where the fight will happen again, if it is UK then so be it, the crowd and at festive atmosphere of the British fans though.

He was knock down on un steady legs, but he wanted to continue, however, Ben Davison, Wood’s trainer, threw in the towel and I think it was the right call as he safe his prize pupil from further beating.
1860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 19, 2023, 09:28:35 PM
Mac McClung took home the dunk contest trophy and rightfully so. He also had the dunk of the night with a 720 which was absolutely ridiculous. That was easily the best dunk since Aaron Gordon’s under the legs over the mascot dunk. This year’s contest was a big step up from last year’s. Hopefully next year we get to see Zion Williamson do something special…
Who the hell is this Mac McClung guy? I have never seen him before, but that dude just came in and bust the whole slam dunk contest open. I know that it is not looking good for the other players, we do not have any good dunkers in the league that is willing to participate anymore due to getting way too much backlash, so only the ones we see accept, but this dude could have outdunked anyone in the entire league.

Three point contest was a bit of a let down as well, nobody really played all that well, many players missed a ton like Randle, and I feel like Dame was obviously the best one, he deserved that one. I am not going to even talk about skills one, that one was terrible to watch.

I believe he was originally signed by the Lakers to be a replacement for Alex Caruso but didn't live up to being able to perform as well as Caruso.  This was the beginning of some terrible moves that make the Lakers go from NBA Champions to not being able to make the playoffs.  Getting rid of Caruso and Dwight Howard was like ripping the heart out of that team and thinking you could just replace them with scrubs like McClung and Montrezl Harrell.  I know Dwight Howard has his locker room issues, but getting rid of Caruso is a mistake that the Lakers are hoping to correct this offseason, as there are rumors they have been trying to get Caruso back, and they should.  Him and LeBron were amazing together.

Speaking of Caruso, I think the Lakers didn't intentionally want him to leave but because of his good performance, he has every right to ask for a good pay which unfortunately, the Lakers doesn't want to because of luxury taxes so they have to gave him up, just like what the Warriors vs GPII situation, he as a defensive gem for them, but signing Poole and Wiggins with big contract, their role players in that championship run were affected, although that good news is that GPII is back with the Warriors.

It was the Bulls who's the first one to sign him in the NBA, 10 day contract, after it expired, he goes again to G League become a Rookie of the year. Then signed with Lakers in a 2 way contract, then declined his qualifying offer.
