1461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 30, 2023, 10:35:03 PM
Ok let's hear the opinion of Shakur Stevenson, he will have his fight at 135 lbs later and this is his take in this fight.

Quote
“Ryan don’t have the IQ, the defense. I just think Tank's IQ is better than Ryan’s for sure. You gotta make him earn everything. Ryan, it don’t look like he’s the type of fighter that’s gonna make him earn anything. It’s all gonna be given to him. Once he gets that shot, it’s over with.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/shakur-stevenson-believe-ryan-garcia-iq-beat-tank--173482

So another fighter in the books who think that the odds are correct and it should be in favor of Davis because he believes that Ryan doesn't have the ring IQ and one dimensional and he blatantly attack and says that everything that Ryan got at this point of his career is like spoon feed for him but Golden Boy. Not sure what will be Ryan's response here, (I haven't seen one), but for sure he will not take this lightly and could be very well replied through his official and verified twitter account hehehe.
1462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: March 30, 2023, 10:24:30 PM
^^ Yeah, I think he can clean up that division and won all the belts, might be good challenge for him with the likes of O'Shaquie Foster or Hector Luis Garcia (which Tank Davis beat) and Emanuel Navarrete. It's going to be a good fight for him at 130 lbs and then beat those name above. But I guess it's the right division for him to move to 135 lbs, no business for him to stay when his body is saying otherwise.

Now he is on a different weight class, no need to cut that weight that hard, and he can train as hard as anyone without thinking of foods that he will need to eat or go into his system. So good choice for him. And in this fight, it's tune up as we have seen, maybe just trying to get a feel on his power and speed so this is still a test for him, could be sparring for some, but for sure his trainer is going to look at it very closely in tapes and see how Shakur performed at Lightweight for the first time as there could be somethings that he could improved to stay with the best like Haney and Loma.
1463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | POSTPONED on: March 30, 2023, 10:12:35 PM
This is excellent news for the upcoming fight. As a fan, I don't mind the postponement as long as we have a new date for the bout. With this update, we no longer have to worry about the fight's uncertainty. The mega fight is still on, and I just hope that Inoue's power has not been affected so he can display the same ferocity in the ring that we've seen before.
I agree, injuries are probably one of the worst aspects of any sport, but at the same time they are inevitable, athletes take their bodies to the extreme so it is natural there are injuries along the process and no one was at fault for this, however it seems the recovery of Inoue will be fast enough and Fulton is willing to wait, which obviously makes the fans really happy about this as I really thought the possibility of the fight being canceled was very high.

True, we don't want to see this happened to athletes specially like Inoue who is still in his prime and already a star in his own right. Luckily, he has the same injury as like the best of the boxers, recently Canelo Alvarez also had to go to a surgery to fix the bone in his knuckles. But there could be worst injuries for a boxers like health issues that could lead them to not fight at all, or even some who suffered from mental issues too.

So there's a lot from this athletes, we think that they are super human because of Inoue's punching power, but it has a caveat, that is, the whole hand is not taking those power very lightly and sooner it's going to break. The good thing is that it's not that serious as it may seem and as I have posted the fight will go on July.
1464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Neymar Loses €1M in Casino in Just an Hour on: March 30, 2023, 09:38:30 PM
I saw this news today and went to find out if it was true or not, after all it is a bit strange that he would bet and lose 1 million that easy.
I know Neymar likes to play poker, and he probably plays with high values, but in this case it wasn't making much sense.

I found a source, but it is in Portuguese, that says that everything was just a marketing move, and the value probably wasn't Neymar's, so there was no investment on his part and no loss of money.
Source here: https://ge.globo.com/blogs/brasil-mundial-fc/post/2023/03/29/neymar-chora-ao-perder-1-milhao-de-euros-em-poquer-assista.ghtml

The funny thing in the end is that the marketing works, after all there are a lot of people commenting on this news today, and even here we are talking about hehehe.

This is also want I suspected in the beginning, maybe he is being sponsored by the casino that's why he is not bothered losing that kind of big money. Although we know that his salary is huge, still $1 million is $1 million.

Good marketing by the casino, whoever it is, we have seen a lot of sports athletes and celebrities being endorsed by casino now to bolstered their earning. And just a year ago, we are just talking about Twitch banning gambling for good. But look at where it is right now, there are still steamers, big one still doing their thing on Twitch.

And with his reactions, it made me believed that this is a sponsored stream.

According to the source, it may be Poker.
He loves Poker. But in the article, we can't see a detailed explanation about the game which make him lose $1M.

It could be poker or other games, because you can't simply lost that big amount in money in poker in short amount of time unless he goes all in with a bad card and his bluff was called by someone.
1465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk still market booster? on: March 30, 2023, 09:28:03 PM
Is Elon musk still market booster and markit crusher or markit just moving on news and Elon musk investment in Bitcoin or just published news about that

I think he exposed himself already in the BTC market as just riding the popularity of it. When he initially announced that his company Tesla is going to buy bitcoin as a reserved, obviously it was a big news to us, as the price goes up instantly. However, in 2022, in their Q2 earnings report, it was revealed that he sold 75% of their holding. And he said that they loss their investments (because of the bear market) and that Bitcoin has a negative impact on them.

And with that, we understand that it's more of a business moved for him to sell and most likely that he is just riding the bandwagon early.

So Bitcoin investors knows what's up with Elon and so we lost "trust" on this guy. Now he is not that influential to us and everything he says with Bitcoin on it is not going to affect us. He also attack Bitcoin mining and said that it is harmful to the environment which we know is very wrong in the beginning.
1466  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expectations for March?! on: March 30, 2023, 09:14:03 PM
Not that I think that happens, this month or maybe ever but absolute default as a fear is easily jet fuel for BTC and a reason why a search for alternative assets exists amongst other reasons.   BTC always to do better then I expect but this kind of ongoing failure is part of why I think.

And it's not that we wanted to have this bank run or bank crisis, we don't. But if that happened and it did we have seen the worst and there could be more in the next couple of months and governments will have to bail them out. If this happens then BTC will always be the logical choice for smart investors or even average joe like most of us here in the community.

Again, as I have been pointing out, the resistance level is $28,500. We really need to break that in order to go up next month. And I would say that we have a breakout run already and if it continues then it is bullish for now and might reclaim that level again and can close this month with green candle which is a strong bullish sign.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 30, 2023, 08:39:36 PM
The Dallas Mavericks have lot's of struggles since the Kyrie Irving trade.

Before they got Kyrie, they are at the 4th spot of the Western Conference. When the trade happens and got Kyrie, many knew already that it was a fail experiment though many thought that it would be beneficial for the team especially for Luka because he will now have an all-star type of player on his team. What is the expense of the Kyrie trade? Their best defensive player in DFS, their supposed back-up point guard in Dinwiddie and some draft picks. Before the trade deadline, they are already one of the worst defensive teams around the league. After the trade? They got even worse than they are before the trade. Also add the frustration that Luka is dealing on each game, and that also affects his performance on every game.

Well, I guess there's nothing left to do but to try and enhance the team again in the next season and get some reliable players on the wings because it really seems that they can't get any spot soon and winning remaining games is just almost too impossible for the team. It's evident enough why they are losing than what they expected it to be and that's because they freed a lot of good players in the Kyrie trade. That's the gamble they did for the sake of adding an all-star caliber beside Luka Doncic.

Maybe Kyrie is not a perfect fit for a Luka tandem, just hard to dissect right now, maybe Kyrie is really trying to do his best and at some point, making such errors that is detrimental to the team and that's why Luka is very frustrated because the team should be improving as they let go some of their best players in Dinwiddie and Finnie-Smith in exchange of Kyrie. And perhaps those two had the last laugh since Mavs are no longer in a good position to enter the playoff while the Nets are into 6th place.

Durant was a monster, without a doubt, Charles should stop talking shit about him.  Grin

I’m defense of Charles, Durant is pretty sensitive and it is Chuck’s job to comment about things like that. I think when Charles goes out of his way to talk about Durant on other people’s podcasts he is probably crossing a line a little, but it is his job so I’m not surprised other people want to talk to him about this sort of thing. Durant just needs to learn to take criticism with a grain of salt. Unfortunately, when you are getting paid big bucks, part of it is because of what you have to deal with.

True, Charles will be Charles, it's that want cost him his friendship with MJ, he open his mouth and talk it real, and so if Durant can't take it, then he should be quiet. But the problem is that he will not let go of this criticism and he is going out in public to response. And the thing is that they can always go back to Charles and says shut your mouth because you don't know anything as you didn't even win a ring, hehehe.

1468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 30, 2023, 08:26:12 PM
There is another article that surface recently about Canelo and what he think of David Benavidez,

Quote
“I don't say no to any fight. But I have goals this year. Then, we'll see,” said Alvarez.

https://www.boxingscene.com/canelo-open-fighting-benavidez-david-good-performance-vs-plant--173493

So now maybe he is open for a fight with Benavidez in the future. But most likely his goal is for a rematch with Bivol and if he wins it, he might go with his mandatory now or at least the interim belt holder in Benavidez. Maybe he is now impressed with David's performance against Plant which Canelo beat already. Or what another highly anticipated fight for us fans next to settle the score with the Benavidez. So we will see, I mean David just won his fight against Caleb and should be resting by now and most likely going to watch the fight of Canelo vs Ryder as well.
1469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 30, 2023, 04:45:59 AM
^^ Congrats @LogitechMouse.

Here's my bet, it was just the start of the 1st quarter when I pulled this one, when I see Giannis shooting and missing free throws, I should have bet on the handicap, but still it's a win for them, with that odds.

The game that made me nervous is the Nets against the Rockets because it was very close till the last 5 minutes of the game when the Nets suddenly play good defense and did not allow the Rockets to score.

Phoenix vs T'Wolves, still close as well and I don't know if they can cover the spread because they were just up 6 last two minutes of the game. And in the last 18 seconds, they allow a three, cutting the lead. But in the end Booker and Chris Paul made their free throws and that's enough for them to cover.

1470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is the next altcoin season? on: March 29, 2023, 11:49:22 PM
I have decided I have too many altcoins in my portfolio and want to convert up to half of them into Bitcoin but I am waiting for the next pump like we saw in January to do this as don't want to convert while my altcoins are 20% down.
If you wait for altcoins to recover, it's the same as waiting for Bitcoin to recover. If you convert to Bitcoin, then you will get the same amount of Bitcoin as now. Because altcoins will also grow based on Bitcoin.
This is different when you convert to stablecoins. You will get different results if you convert now and you convert when the price goes up.

This is not always 100% true - I hold Quant and it pumped last October while Bitcoin was moving sideways and I should have sold then but didn't as it is one of the altcoins I believe in most and want to hold long term.

Looking back I should have took some profits though as I was over 2x at the peak of that rally in October. I am just waiting for something like this to happen again with either Quant or one of my other altcoins and when it does I will put a lot of the profits into Bitcoin.

Perhaps it's just one instance wherein it was pump due to hype or some positive news about this project. I don't have anything about it, might be really solid and I also can't say about you not wanting to sell during the pump and I hope that you have learn your lessons from that x2 increase and your possible paper profit by that time and yeah, it could be good hold. Because the altcoin season is not yet here. It might take another year or so, right after the block halving. And far as history goods this is the catalyst for a massive bull run for bitcoin, so in any case, the pump will trickle down and have a domino effect on most of the altcoins, and again who knows, maybe your Quant and others in your portfolio will have a massive increased that time so keep on holding.
1471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Skill Based Slot Machines on: March 29, 2023, 11:35:30 PM
They have the name Skill added to it but I don't see any skill can be applied on the slot to win the game, its just another round of spin so the chance matters here so its still zero skill and pure luck when it comes to slot. I think they use it to trick players by giving an extra round where the results are still going to be random and no skill to be applied with it.

Skill is something you applied based on your study to come out with the desired results I don't see it here it's still random you still have to rely on luck so where is skill comes to play here, I cannot imagine luck-based games turning into skill-based games, with players employing a consistent method to win, because luck-based games are casinos' bread and butter, will they allow that?
It's a game-changer for the casino industry and it will turn the tide against casinos, the casinos can lose their business.

I don't think that it will turn the tide against casino though, maybe yeah they will go and have this on the floor, but I don't see it as the one that can beat their system. Maybe just a small percentage of this machines are going to be allowed by them, because this skill based games are a game changer as you have said. So I will estimate that it might be just 1% or even less than that the machines that they are going to allow in their casinos. The bread and matter luck base games like Slots will continue to dominate because of how big it generate and it's one of the favorite game that everyone enjoys. And not everyone can play that skill based game too in my opinion. So it won't put any dent on their business, it's just the industry is developing something new just for gaming experiences.
1472  Economy / Gambling / Re: British Horse Racing - With Prediction To Win on: March 29, 2023, 11:25:07 PM
The Digital Price: £30,000.00. Negotiable.

British Horse Racing - Using Video Game Display - Tells The Winner of a Real Horse Race  During a Race.

The Video Display and Secret Technique gives the winner of the race before the race finishes -

100 % correct cheat code in game. Displays code for 5 seconds (for a real horse race via the video game monitor, which means you have to be fast to place a bet before odds dissappear.)
^Interesting!
Then if this is profitable then why not just bet on your own and win the race using your own reliable tips?
If it has a 100% accurate cheat code game, you can benefit it yourself without other funds, it seems I smell fishy here which I think could be clearly a scam. We should be careful of this and probably people here already this kind of trick.

Yeah, doesn't make sense for the OP to share his secret techniques hehehe, and so mostly likely it's either not going to work and it's going to be a scam. So for me, nah, not going to bite on this so called prediction with 100% accuracy to win. It's obvious cheating for me and if it is found out by the gambling platform then your money is gone for sure. So just be careful for those who might fall for this trick, just saying. There's no such thing as an accurate prediction. If there is, many could have been millionaires by now.
1473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Going to Bitcoin events on: March 29, 2023, 11:14:29 PM
Going to bitcoin, crypto, blockchain events benefits us in anyway ?
I am something biased at this because of internet sayings, biased in positive side that they are very benefiting and worth my time, share your experiences about going to events is good or bad ,
are you gone to any bitcoin events ? and, in which way it helped you, do you learned new things that is very difficult to learn on internet, do you met amazing people, do going to that events worth your time and money.

In case you are not familiar with, we have board that totally dedicated to Bitcoin/Blockchain events: Meetups.

Ok, probably we can go back in time, first bitcoin conference:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv0SdUNcBKc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ljx4bbJrYE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRjEd8NS4Wc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI8LUrnK_GQ

Maybe some of the attendees that time bough Bitcoin and could still be holding but this time, or maybe they lost everything to Mt. Gox.

But the point is that there could be a lot of benefits by joining this conferences and meetups and you could learn a thing or two or meet someone that could be big in the Bitcoin ecosystem. You'll not never know, who you gonna bump.
1474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are We Going To See $30,000 Price Before the End of This week on: March 29, 2023, 11:04:17 PM
As I have been saying in the last couple of weeks, $28,500 is the big resistance that we need to conquer, although there is a big jump in the price and even hitting it in the last 24 hours, it's not enough for the price to sustain it (again). It might be that the bulls are really pushing very hard to an eventual $30k this March or this is a bull trap, we will find out later. In any case the $30k barrier is just like 6% from the current price so by that percentage it's possible to achieved if there is one positive news that will boost the price in the last 24 hours. So it will take a lot of effort and money for the bulls to see the price at $30k. Nevertheless it could also be done in the first or second week or April. For now the price level that we should be looking at is $28,500 and sustain it.
1475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto traders beaten by girls on: March 29, 2023, 10:45:39 PM
Most likely it could have been Gen Z women leading the old and traditional men, who might be in stock trading for years and shift to crypto. And if this is the case then this girls are willing to take the risk big time and so they could be winning as compare to men. However, doesn't matter, I mean we all know that this market is open for everyone, even young girls or even those who are old enough but maybe they don't have that risk as compare to them. But looking at the numbers, it's just a small difference, 4% is minimal in my opinion. But if there is something that we can get out of this numbers and gender comparison, it's that crypto is here to stay and every one has equal opportunity to make money.
1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 29, 2023, 10:29:56 PM
^^ Not really sure what do you mean by not interested, Canelo is still the cash cow of boxing, so whoever he fight next, will definitely make a lot of money. And maybe Bivol can double on what he get during their first fight as he already beat Canelo at 175. Now there is a scenario that might interested Bivol, that is to fight Canelo as his super middle weight class, which means that Canelo will have to put all his belt on the line. So the stakes are high and Bivol might not resists it because it's going to be a win-win situation for him. And if by chance he beat Canelo twice, then he will be a double belt champion at 168 lbs and his 175 lbs. And Canelo wanted to get his revenge against Bivol, we totally didn't expect that he will lost to Bivol.
1477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: March 29, 2023, 10:13:47 PM
Yes, but we all know that Casimero loves training, you can see it in his blog. So for sure he wouldn't take this fighter very lightly because if he lose this fight, it will be over for his dream to become a world champion in 122 lbs.

And with a new manager which is a Japanese, he might want to impressed them with a huge win against Nghitumbwa. Casimero has the experience as well, he knows how hard it is to win in the enemy's soil, so he will prevent that from happening to him. If he wins, they the doors will open up for him to even fight Inoue because of his Japanese promoters.
This is an easy Casimero fight. Yes, he loves to train and he's not that careless anymore. He may have been like sort of boastful but that's just for the audience behind the camera, he knows what he's doing. It may look like that he's careless and belittling his opponents on the camera but that's not all about it. That's just to add value for the emotions of his fans for them to watch more of his fights but he's a titled champion, and not just one title so he knows really exactly what he's doing and he's got the upperhand winning against his opponent for this match since he's got more experience.

He will definitely trained hard and maybe look for a knockout, he needs to win impressively and send a message to the rest of the super bantamweight fighters. This is an opportunity for him to show that he still got it, can knock out his opponents. And yes, usually if you have new manager you want to show them that they are correct in picking you up. And I believed that he is still chasing that big money fight against Inoue and so he pick a Japanese manager because it's going to be an advantage for him to negotiate as both are Japanese. So good move for him to get out of MP or whoever his last manager is.
1478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 29, 2023, 09:54:06 PM
Today is the day I’ve been waiting for. Kevin Durant making his season debut for the Suns at home after returning from an ankle injury suffered in the layup line the last time he tried making his home debut. The game will be on ESPN and should be worth the watch as Durant tries to take yet another contender to the Finals. Who knows how games we’ll see him play in Phoenix.

Oh well I thought he won't be back until the playoffs but here we go. I think Durant fits with the Suns just as good as he was in GSW. We've seen their offensive fire power when he and Booker are both playing. Plus they have CP3 and Ayton, these guys needs to be double teamed when caught on fire. However, double teaming one of these guys will lead to another open man and that makes the Suns looks scary in the playoffs.

Same here, I thought that he might suit up, but not tonight, but I guess the Suns wanted to see Durant now not later as they still need to win games before the playoff. And it's another tough win who wanted to go to the playoff, the Timberwolves. They are in a 4 game winning streak, KAT and Naz Reid which is the big surprised for them in the last 5 games, plus they still have another big men in Gobert, so Ayton and Biyombo will have their hands full against those guys. But the big difference could be Durant if he play in this game, so adding him to the mix against the Timberwolves, it's going to be big. I'm going to watch and this game and most likely going to bet on the Suns at home.

As for the big Warriors win, that is the Warriors that we all know, they have the championship DNA and can come back from big deficit and snatch that win, specially in their very own Chase arena. Steph Curry, still playing at MVP levels again.
1479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Eimantas Stanionis vs Vergil Ortiz Jr - April 29 on: March 29, 2023, 09:40:15 PM
The fight might pushed for another date as there was another setback, Ortiz is now injured,

Quote
BoxingScene.com has learned that the Eimantas Stanionis-Vergil Ortiz WBA ‘Regular’ welterweight title fight was postponed for the second time. Ortiz was forced to shut down training camp after suffering an undisclosed illness. The development forced the unbeaten contender to withdraw from a scheduled April 29 date with Stanionis at College Park Center at The University of Texas at Arlington campus.

https://www.boxingscene.com/vergil-ortiz-falls-ill-wba-title-fight-versus-eimantas-stanionis-postponed-again--173465

So not sure if we are going to see this great fight though. We don't know what this undisclosed illness is, but prior to that Ortiz was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis. It's a form or medical condition wherein the dead muscles are releasing toxins to his liver and kidneys.

And there is rumor that this undisclosed illness could be related to Peds or the cycle or recycle of it, again it's just a rumor and no one can confirm it.
1480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Sports do you like bet apart from the the listed one here? on: March 29, 2023, 09:15:39 PM
Recently I came across a few articles on the Internet while trying to understand what makes sports betting so lucrative. I now know that there are three big sports that every Gambler, Sports Enthusiast, and a lot of fans are engaged in Sports betting. I personally have not seen or realized it but a good majority of teens & preteens are already into it.

I hope everyone would agree with this list:

  • Soccer
  • NBA
  • Cricket
  • UFC

This list is not based on betting revenue or based on the number of fans. It is simply compiled by me after watching the activity on this board for different games thread. I am aware that I did not add Tennis, MMA and Boxing as my question is about those sports that are not being discussed here but you do bet on it either occasionally or on a regular basis.

Yeah, pretty much that is the order of listing here in the community. You can have to see that Soccer could be the most discussed sports because there are a lot of members who love that sports and most likely betting on it. I'm a big NBA fan so yes, this could be in the second spot. I know cricket but I haven't bet on it, but I see it's popular amongst West Indies countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. For UFC, it has gain some traction as well in the last 10 years or so and it could be as exciting as boxing for me.
