1501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 27, 2023, 01:46:53 PM
I think Canelo will be looking forward for a rematch against Bivol, it could be in 168 lbs, or if he wants to get another belt at 175 lbs, then Bivol will have to put his belt on the line as well. It can easily be made by Hearn though, maybe he is just waiting for the blessing from Canelo himself. WBC will let Alvarez do whatever he wants, even not going to fight his mandatories including the interim champion in David Benavidez.

Yeah, it's true that Caleb demanded a bigger ring so that he can go circles, but most likely the power of David specially in the second half of the fight, was too big to Caleb to run. Benavidez though has a good chin together with his power, so it's a dangerous combinations. So most likely there will be another fight for David late this year and it will not be Canelo.

Locking this thread now.
1502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | POSTPONED on: March 27, 2023, 01:14:42 PM
@bisdak40. Agreed and it would be in a higher weight division where Casimero will not he overweight similar to what he has done in the bantamweight division.

In any case, what is the latest news? Is this fight only postponed or is there a chance of a cancellation? This might give a chance for Casimero to enter the show if he can challenge someone with a high rank in super bantamweight.

For now it seems that the fight is going to be scheduled sometime or until his injury is totally 100% healed.

And as I expected, it's a hand injury that he suffered during the sparring session, and if I'm not mistaken Inoue has history of this kind of injuries. Against Omar Narvaez and we all know that Inoue punches so hard, that's why it's just a matter of time before he broke his hands. Probably the same case with Canelo as well, punching so hard in the mitts, or in the actual fight causing them to have this injury. Might take time though, 3 months maybe before he can go back to sparring again and try that hand?

In the past, many KO artists for their hands destroyed as well. Floyd Mayweather JR. used to be a KO artist as well and then his KO rate dropped heavily as he started to move up in weight. But he did mention that his hands are broken, luckily for him, his got the skills to win thru decisions and a very good defense. Nonito Donaire at one time had swollen hands after his fight with WV2. The skull is one of the hardest bones right?

Yes, Floyd was notoriously known to have brittle hands when he goes up in weight. And if I'm not mistaken, there were some controversies as he got a shot of Lidocaine in his hands which is illegal in some state, but perfectly legal in his home town of Nevada. And what it does is that it numb the hands of Floyd so he can go and continue to fight even with this kind of conditions.

And again, if my memory serves me right, Inoue is using Cleto Reyes gloves, which is the favorite gloves for punchers like him or Manny, it has less padding though, that's why boxers who uses this tend to get injured. So there's also this important aspect of choosing the correct gloves for boxers as it can literally break or make them.

Speaking of Casimero, his past report to Pacman about the mishandling of its MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons might lead to the appointment of a new MP Promotions president. Casimero seriously needs to stay active though as he is not getting younger and he is in a bigger division as well. Just stay active and these sanctioning bodies will rank him higher since he is already a proven fighter, being a 3 division champion to his credit.

There's video of Pacquiao and Donaire talking about the case of Sean Gibbons hehehe.

Not clear though because the audio is not good, but you can hear Manny saying that Sean uses his name  Grin
1503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evidence that I actually invested for my baby on: March 27, 2023, 12:06:10 PM
Lol, I don't get the proof part, if you says that you have invested the $50 from what you got from those baby wishers, it's enough for us I guess. Just be careful though and learn how to practice good security, just saying.

And as others have said, start early for your child investment.

Not going to say negative about it, just wish you and your baby become healthy in the future and used that investment if it grows in the future to good use.
1504  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: March 26, 2023, 11:57:06 PM
Brooklyn Nets vs Miami Heat -6
Milwaukee Bucks ML vs Denver Nuggets
Philadelphia 76ers ML vs Phoenix Suns

Sasabayan ko tong Bucks mo kabayan, mayron sigurong hindi maglalaro para sa kanila pero gaya ng sabi ko, deadly pa rin tong Bucks kahit wala si Giannis.

Sorry kabayan talo tayo.  Sad

Tsaka galing sila s magandang pakita against Philly.

1505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 26, 2023, 11:43:24 PM
I agree. There are a lot of factors that a boxers should consider first before they start calling themselves a face of the sport or before they see themselves, even the PPV King, Errol Spence Jr. is not the face, how much more to this boxer who is not even a champion in his present division. That's just funny to me because they are also the ones who are trying to make themselves a clown in-front of the avid boxing fans. What face did he mean? Grin He needs a lot of proving inside the ringbefore he can start saying those words.

There is only one reason for this act and that is to hype his incoming fight.  It is all about promotion and marketing, even their argument, the contract drama, I also considered as a marketing ploy to make the audience excited about the fight.  Well, we know Boxing is also a kind of business, so there is a lot of drama, acting, promotion, and marketing in order to bring profit to the fight.  Even those exchanges of hate words are part of the marketing ploy IMHO.

I just hope that these boxers can deliver the excitement the viewers expected.

True, even if the beef is real, after the fight they will have to settle down and embrace like a real warrior and embrace the result. If they deem to have a rematch then good for us, if not then they did their best to hype it even more although we have said that this could be one of the biggest if not the biggest draw for this year. And what is a fight without this trash talking hehehe, we wouldn't understand if one is not American, but both are and they have history of talking trash against their opponents in the past specially Tank Davis as he used to be one of the best trash talker in business, and that is Floyd hehehehe. So yeah, let them bad mouth each other and let's see who can back up that talk.

And talking about Floyd, him and Tank crossing path at the Plant vs Benavidez fight,

1506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 26, 2023, 11:32:06 PM
As far as Commey vs Ramirez, it was a clear win by Ramirez as he knockout Richard in the 11th round, and as I have said previously, Ramirez is going to break him down up to round 10 and that's what happen here, before the knockout, Commey went down first, beat the count, unfortunately it's just a matter of time before Ramirez goes for the finisher.

And I guess that's it for Commey, had a good and solid career, but I guess he is way past his prime already and he could damage his health if he chases big fights at 140 as this division is very loaded with good and talented fighters. It was a great fight though between the two, Commey really tried his best and even have good rounds. But at the end of the day, Ramirez is too big for him.
1507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The bear market is your friend on: March 26, 2023, 11:21:36 PM
To everyone in crypto currency, the bear market is one market where fuds and panic triumph and reign which greatly affects the prices of crypto currency tokens, and yes some projects do not recover from the bear burdens.

But do you know that the bear market is a blessing in disguise for every investors that is prepared and has been waiting for the dump ? So many tokens are going to touch lower lows, and if you are prepared, you can key into this tokens and more than double your money when the bull run is here. The dump is your friend, and is a blessing if you are always ready and prepared for it.

Make sure to look into quality tokens and projects, and ofcourse dyor

Smart.  As the adage goes, be greedy when people are fearful and be fearful when people are greedy.  If you put your money into solid projects while they are down in price has worked out in the past during the next bull run.  Careful though chucking it in complete garbage you will probably ly lose all your money.  Plenty of coins never make it back in price after they've been dumped.

Yeah, it's not as easy as it sounds though, you still need to choose a good project to begin with and then invest smart, given a example, ETH. And it's lowest price during the bear market of 2018, it went below $100. So if by chance, you see that is the big opportunity then we should invest on it because by the time we have the massive bull run of 2021-2022, the price of ETH reaches at almost $5k. So that is a huge profits for those who fill their bags with that price. Same with BTC, March 2020, pandemic scare, price goes < $4k, then goes on growth to $69k. And that might be the last time that we will see BTC sub $1k. Now it will be sub $20k and hopefully each one of us here are going to invest on this two or at least solid altcoin projects that are in the top 10 right now.
1508  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans go to Mexico for medicals to cut costs. on: March 26, 2023, 11:09:08 PM
The recent kidnapping of four Americans exposed me to the medical tourism going on in America. I have always thought that the US was a perfect country has very functional health, economic, and political systems. I thought all Americans have access to cheap and quality medical services until I read that over one million Americans go on medical tourism in Mexico yearly.

And the reason why some of them choose Mexico was because of its quality and low cost. These medical tourists are aware that it is risky to do to some parts of Mexico, but they still go there because they want to cut costs.
Is there any other reason why Americans go to Mexico for medical?
You really thought US was good at providing cheap medical services? US have one of the most expensive medical structure. So expensive that most of the Americans won't be able to use it without   insurance. I have seen so many people going to Asian countries for better healthcare. India infact has lot of healthcare tourism. So it's pretty normal for them to go to Mexico for such things.

True, not just medical services, but Asia seems to attract a lot of Americans who just want to retire and have their money valued so much in such countries. As for those who travel to Mexico for medical procedures, yes, they are cheap but there is also risk as well just like the kidnappings and killings of the American. You can say that it's normal because this has been exposed now, but then again, as I have said, they have to be very careful when they venture to a country such as Mexico and they need to weigh the pros and cons. There's even one, who supposedly who went to go, but back out in the last minutes. So she is very lucky, otherwise she could be one of those victims that unfortunately die.
1509  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price is looking positive green on: March 26, 2023, 10:59:09 PM
Indeed recently the crypto market seems to be working very positively and is looking green again. But I'm not sure if the current rise in bitcoin prices indicates that we are in a bull run phase. Moreover, the recent increase in the price of bitcoin is not very significant and it is still difficult to reach above $30k. Therefore, let's see how far the price movement of bitcoin going forward. Can it immediately reach a price above $30k or not.

We might not be in the bull run yet, we need to go to the bitcoin halving phase next year and after that the official bull run market will commence. Nevertheless, I do agree that it's been green in the first 3 month, at least January and March are very friendlies with good rally, and if I'm not mistaken January alone is like in the range of 40% increased, that massive already.

Medium term its looking positive, good turn up in 200 day and 50 day average underlines this in a fairly obvious way.  However the ironic twist markets will often play is to bring down the everyday price back to those measures or similar disheartening many who had hoped for the easy road to riches or at least higher then this.
Very short term we cant even stay above the 2 day average, thats easily a stall.  Only that we are on the weekend makes me wonder if we can catch flight and regain some speed mid week to readdress 30k as a target within the boundaries of March.

Yes, we are just above the 200 MA, it's about $25k++ for now, and obviously the price is slightly above $28k. So still a good indication that in short term we might be as bullish as the first 3 months of the year. But it's going to be close about that $30k at the end of the month. I don't think that we are going to make it though. Let's say April might be the likely target for that price range.
1510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 26, 2023, 10:50:10 PM
Donaire's killer move is his counter hook punch where many boxer fell prey.  But the question would be, with the current age of Donaire, will he still have that fast reflex and reaction in order to deliver that deadly punches?

I understand your concern though although what I can say about that is, he still can deliver that deadly punches.

My only reference is, Donaire is not against a considered top-ranked boxer therefore, we are not expecting an Inoue-type of opponent here where Donaire's age is playing a big role. Age does matter and that's usual but against Santiago, I don't really consider age as a factor.

However, if Donaire will struggle against Santiago, no way Donaire can even match with other top-ranked boxers in the bantamweight.
Yeah, might as well just end his career if he will lose to Santiago in his upcoming fight.
That will mean a lot for him especially his mental state after another defeat, not that I underestimate Santiago but questions like, "Is he still physically able?" or "Is the age really affecting him now?" will pop out not just with his fans but also a question for himself that will lead to a stressful mental state.
This is the reason why I will bet for him because this will bring his confidence up again and this fight might also be the answer to all the critics that had been bombarding him that he cannot do it anymore after that 2 losses against Inoue.
If he can knockout Santiago, that will be a better statement for them. No words are needed.

True, a knockout win against Santiago will be a big boost to Nonito and that statement win will send another message to other champion in this division that even if he is old, he can still bang with them guys and can deliver his knockout left hook punch. I'm not seeing any mental issues with Donaire though, I mean this guy is very durable, meet a lot of hall of fame boxers in throughout his career, so definitely he knows how to accept that 2 defeats he suffer from the hands of the monster Inoue. On the contrary, he could be very well positive in this fight as he knows he has a good chance to beat Santiago and become a champion again. There could be pressures though, but he wouldn't reach this status of his if he is in fear of big fights.
1511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chasing looses Vs Finding closure: Any difference? on: March 26, 2023, 10:37:37 PM
I really need a clarification on this. Is chasing looses in gambling same as looking for closure because i recently read an article on reddit where the poster said that he will gamble untill he wins just to look for closure. I have been thinking about this for sometime now because closure has the same characteristics with chasing looses which is even when the gambler is loosing he will still be gambling just to recover all his looses.

Source:
https://www.reddit.com/r/gambling/comments/120jc8a/should_i_gamble_until_i_win_so_that_i_can_have_a/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=3&utm_content=share_button

Nah, I think he is just looking for excuse to continue his gambling habits, simple as that. For sure we have said that to ourselves as well, just one game and one more win or at least break even to quit and move on. But that is the case, because once we got that win and have the money back already, someone will whisper to you to continue. And that's where our emotions comes in, if it is not check, then we will continue because we feel lucky and greedy. And then when we lost, we go back to that same prayer of just one win and no more. So it's going to be cyclical and with that I don't agree or believed that gamblers are going to find some closure if they chase their losses and win it back.
1512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 26, 2023, 10:24:55 PM
Bad day for me last night, Bucks was overwhelmed by the Nuggets, Heat in their own homecourt lost to the Nets and then Clippers too against the Pels.

There are a lot of games already, early in my timezone, I might just do a couple of live bets later, see first what teams that could potentially upset the favorite.

Warriors vs Wolves - GSW is playing at their homecourt, so I will go with them again, -5.5.
Portland against OKC - Lillard has a season ending injury, but I will go 10.5 @1.89.
1513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stories about lost Bitcoin on: March 26, 2023, 10:14:13 PM
Hello friends. Has anyone ever lost bitcoin? I am curious to listen to your stories. My purspose is to educate ourselves of possible scams, or rookie mistakes that we may do, that can lead to our BTC being stolen or lost.

Edit: Back in Feb 2020, I gave my seed phrase to someone on twitter. The convinced me the seed phrase was equal to my address and that they needed it to send me bitcoin. Don't ask me why I was so stupid... I lost approx. 1M sats and I had to start accumulating again. I bought a Trezor and I started reading...

Bitcoin doubler for me when I was still inexperienced, way back in 2017. I thought that I can double it right away, the scam was good, they give me my first payout and so I reinvest it again, roll my bitcoin on that site. Then suddenly it goes offline and when I search about it, maybe have been bitching that they have lost big amount. Luckily for me, it's just small as I just want to test that scheme or shall I shall now "scam".

As for the seed phrase or private key, no I haven't go to that extend to give someone that information because right away I knew that it is very important to us. It's good that we have learn this kind of lessons when we are a newbie, it's a wake up call to us to really be vigilant and learn safety practices before hand as not to fall for this trick again.

1515  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Value till 2033? on: March 26, 2023, 09:42:30 PM
It is difficult to predict the exact price of Bitcoin in the future because it is a highly volatile and unpredictable asset. However, Bitcoin's value stems from several factors, including its limited supply, decentralization, and its use as a medium of exchange. It is important to note that past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results and that the cryptocurrency market is highly speculative.

And it's becoming a store of value and hedge against economic crisis. It has been even a legal tender for a country already. So there's a lot of things to consider right now as to the narrative of bitcoin. In the last bear market , we don't know where the money will come, but it did push to $69k levels. Yeah, hard to predict the price, but if we have to look at the past historical logs, then we can deduce where the price will be in the next 10 years or so. Of course, one of the biggest factor is the limited supply as every 4 years we have the bitcoin block halving that is the catalyst. So it is "expected" by the next bull run, it could be around $100k-$180k.
1516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: March 26, 2023, 09:32:54 PM
This may not be an exciting fight, but at least we'll get to see Casimero in action again. By keeping himself active, he'll be ready for bigger fights in the future. Although his opponent's record isn't scary, Casimero still needs to work hard in training and should not underestimate him. As we all know, upsets can happen anytime in boxing.

Hopefully, his next fight will be a championship fight. Let's watch this!

By the way, where will this fight be held?

Okada in the Philippines, a hotel casino, been there and played some, but to be honest, I'm not feeling that casino.

Anyhow, going back to the fight, yes, as what we have thought, this is a tune up fight for Casimero to fight someone with the record of Nghitumbwa. But I do agree that he shouldn't take this fight lightly and be overconfident. And we wanted to see that brandish style of his again, willing to go toe to toe if needed just to get that huge knockout win.

And just for the record, Casimero is now being handled by Treasure Boxing Promotion a Japanese based boxing company.

1517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 26, 2023, 09:08:26 PM
Trae got ejected in the third quarter because he threw the ball "to hard" to the ref, haha. How this in enough to through a player out I don't understand, these refs are getting more and more like a Karen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dXqZt5moRE

Something has to change I think.

LOL, it wasn't that hard, but the good thing is that they won the game. Trae Young is very important for the team, and I hope the technical fouls he committed this season won't have any effect on the playoffs. We don't want to see him getting suspended for one game because he accumulated enough technical fouls to merit a suspension.

Anyhow, Denver demolished the Bucks very easy, it's the preview of what could have been the finals, but it was in the Nuggets home court so they have all the advantage. Giannis still had a good game with 31 points, but I think it was Middleton, who had a bad game.

Good game for the Nuggets, the Bucks controlled the first half, but in the 3rd quarter it was all Nuggets, everyone  who got on the floor played very good for the Nuggets and if they play like this, their form, their shooting and their defense, it's hard to stop them. Bucks lead at the top is now just 2 games behind the Celtics, so if the fight for the playoff spot in the West is close for the 8th to down position, I think it's also interesting how the Celtics and the Bucks will end up as well in the top in the East. Philly losing 2 games now could have also had an impact, if they won those two, it will be obviously closer as well.

Lakers vs the Bulls right now, the Bulls had a big lead, they might have to spoil Lebron James comeback game here.
1518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does your country tax your gambling winnings? on: March 26, 2023, 08:52:06 PM
I live in Australia and we have no taxes on all gambling winnings (lottery, hose racing, sports betting and casinos).
I know the USA has gambling taxes and I think it's ridiculous.
You are risking your own money and if you win you are penalised.
I'm curious as to how many other users have to pay taxes on their winnings.

As far as I know, here in the Philippines, gambling winnings are not tax, and it was only the casinos and other gambling franchises are tax here, so I guess we are just lucky. But if I'm not mistaken, government as well is looking for online games to be tax, so let's see.

But I with you with those ridiculous taxes imposed by USA or any other country for that matter. I mean you bet and you win big, but the government will have a cut on it? not fair for us gamblers. But it is what it is for some of us here, they will have to pay tax so that they can continue with their gambling activity.
1519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 26, 2023, 08:37:22 PM
Just as i speculated, David Benavidez won the fight via unanimous decision (115-113, 116-112, 117-111).

Lucky for Plant that David started the fight slow as he compiled points but at the end, he seemed lost all the stamina but still kudos to him that even though he absorbed all the power punches in championship rounds, he was still standing.

I don't know mate, Plant took too much damage in this fight, if I'm the trainer, I could have raised the white flag here and stop the fight. Plant doesn't deserved to be punished here by David's power, he could be LHW in this fight. And with the damage he took, it could have taken a lot from here though and might not be the same fighter next, just saying.

And as I have said, after the fight they are going to huge and bury their hatchet for good. Yeah, the beef might be true and personal, but at the end of the day, after the fight, they will have to forget about it and move on with their careers, specially Plant. They have settled it, bring everything in the table, but unfortunately, there's only one fighter, one winner here and that is David Benavidez.

Edit: On my unofficial scorecard, David winning 116-112.
1520  Economy / Speculation / Re: Asia Pushes Bitcoin Past $25K on: March 26, 2023, 12:33:54 AM
Generally, Asia is more accepting of Bitcoin. In general, I could think of a couple of things why.
  • Asia has been technologically advanced in recent years
  • Lack of trust in Banks
  • Transferring money has become easier

That is the current trend in the world, and Asia is at the front of it. I think it will continue in the next decade and hope it will rise in price.

I don't think it is only Asia who is buying and pushing the bitcoin price to nearly 28,000$ (as of this writing). People all over the world have realized in the recent past how unreliable is the whole banking sector and the only thing which can protect their capital is bitcoin.
Sooner or later the US will again start the Dollar Printer and inflation will be out of control.
I think mankind has discovered the best store of value in the form of bitcoin.

I think his point is that Asia has a lot of bad experience in the past as compare to the West and even EU that a slight change and disrupt in financial systems, they are going to look for alternatives and other option to hedge their wealth. So obviously, bitcoin is really the best alternatives for now, there could be others though, but I guess Asia is deep into Bitcoin as we all know of it. Majority of the countries are friendlies, China used to be the biggest miners, they have the monopoly, well Japan and South Korea is not far behind. And there are South East Asian countries that are also on the front, like Singapore, Philippines and Hong Kong as well heavily invested on BTC.
