1881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 17, 2023, 10:38:38 PM
The amount of usage rate Westbrook required was the real trouble. Yes it is true that they got less of a "star" with these trades, but they do not require this much usage rate at least, and that means Lebron and AD could have the ball a lot more, and if they ever get defended too harshly, they could pass out to someone who can hit a three.

Plus, they used AD for center too much, and we all know he famously dislikes that, Mo Bamba is not there because he is a great player, he is there to make sure AD plays the way he wants to play, or at least has someone from the bench to replace him when needed. They had too many guards, now they have a bit more evened out in each position.

Agreed on having Bambang in there.  He is a traditional 5 and will allow AD to play out on the wing and not have to cover guys like embid.  Bambang will help Lakers down low.  Surprised with the moves they pulled they definitely got better.  Playoff push better who knows but they will be fighting for the bottom end of the playoff bunch for the last 20 games now.

The games have chance though, we haven't that much "traditional player" definition per se. There are even games that Lakers chooses to be small, Lebron being the center. And other teams too, like the Bucks going out small as well when Giannis is out or Lopez in not on the floor. But I do agree that AD is more of a PF position and he thrives on that role when the have their championship run. And Mo addition will relieved some pressures on AD's shoulder for now and Mo is also a good player that can contribute on both ends of the floor.
1882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recommend your Favorite Slots on: February 17, 2023, 10:25:56 PM
The weekend is upon us. After a very demanding work week, I've made the decision to unwind this weekend by playing some fresh slots at online casinos. My budget- I'm going to spend at most $150 and test out 5-7 new slot machine games. The slot games I play the most include Wanted, Dead or Wild, Legion Gold, Folsom Prison, and Fire in the Hole. I need something new. I'd appreciate it if you could suggest your favorite al slot game for me to try.

After there are enough responses, I'll lock the thread.

Here's my recommendation:

1. San Quentin - No Limit
2. Tome of Madness - PlayN'go
3. DeadWood - No Limit
4. Hand of Anubis - Hacksaw
5. Aztec Magic - BCGaming

Pretty much that's it, good luck on your weekend casino games, hopefully you can win big with those casinos being posted as well by other players.
1883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 17, 2023, 10:14:45 PM
Yes, this fight is happening, I posted it here first, hehehe.

Anyways, it's good to have a separate thread for this fight, this is for the bantamweight belt so it's deserves one.

And as the majority of you guys see it, we are going to favor our very own Nonito Donaire and his chances are good to win another bantamweight reign. Santiago might be unknown to us, not enough in the top 5, but it doesn't mean that it will be easy for Donaire. Still very hard fight but at the end, the experience of Donaire will be in full display here, how he is going to set up that left hook, coverage of the ring and setting feint and traps to open Santiago and then give us his patented left hook to finish with a knockout.
1884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 17, 2023, 11:19:22 AM
I wll also go with the Bucks -7.5 @1.95, it was reported that DeRozan is out in this game and so is Alex Caruso.
Suns vs Clippers - gonna be a good match up here, ML for Clippers for me, @1.93.

Parlay both my picks @3.71.
Congratulations bro, perfect night.

Finally I hit my picks for tonight's game, I stay away from the Wizards vs Timberwolves game and it was the right decision for me because I can't decide on that game.

Congrats to you as well almost perfect and for those who win tonight. At least we have a win before the All Star Break.

It seems that there official account here is active once again,  owlgames.

1886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of holding Bitcoin in time of crisis on: February 16, 2023, 11:35:06 PM
If I'm not mistaken, bitcoin has proven itself to be a good hold in countries like Zimbabwe hyperinflation problem which started decades ago and shown again in 2018. So yeah, I would tend to agree in which people may have live to a country wherein it's money is not doing good, it's being to hedge your wealth in bitcoin and see how it goes at least in the next 4 years. So it's one way to preserve once capital, and so you relieved yourself of the pressures and on the contrary you might be looking to grow your money at the same time investing on BTC.
1887  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 16, 2023, 11:21:45 PM

1888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Tony Harrison vs Tim Tszyu - Mar 13, 2023 on: February 16, 2023, 10:47:41 PM
Press kick-off for Tszyu vs Harrison,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHR8pX2CzpE

Who's not gonna love Tony Harrison here? hehehe, "Tim, I just wanna be friends, show me around".

“He took the elevator… I took the stairs”

So let's see what Harrison can do, he seems to be motivated in this fight to have a second wind in his career after his lost to Charlo in the second fight.
This fight is very interesting. The fact that the match of Tim Tszyu with Charlo was called off must have made him unhappy.

Yes, that fight with Charlo is for all the belts in 154 lbs, so if ever Tim won, he will be the unified champion and would make history for him and his dad. But there are things that we didn't anticipated or we don't have control such as boxers being injured in training.
You brought up a good point, and you also brought to mind that his dad was also the undisputed champion of his time. We cannot forget how his dad won over Zab Judah by knocking him out and making the American do the chicken dance. It was a boxing match that will always be remembered. Therefore, if Tim Tszyu defeats Jermell Charlo and wins all of the belts, he and his dad will become the first dad and son undisputed champions in the history of this sport. That will be an incredible feat that has never been attempted before. But the fact that Jermell Charlo is an excellent boxer makes it difficult.

Yeah, it could go down to the history books, but what's important is for Tim to win his fight then against Harrison. Everything is at his advantage, the venue and he has trained already, so he is ready to go anytime he wants to fight Tony.

But of course, every fight is at risk even if Tim will be the favorite here as Harrison is still a very dangerous opponent and I don't think we can say that he is not on his prime anymore. Harrison has a punchers chance in this fight to pull any upset in his career.
1889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: February 16, 2023, 10:27:14 PM
The division is getting hotter with the arrival of 2 division champion Shakur Stevenson who is also promoted by Bob Arum. I guess Shakur is getting his title shot this year unless Haney can insert a rematch clause and losses to Loma. If Haney will win, I really want him to fight Shakur but most likely he is moving up in weight. Haney was already struggling to make the weight in the rematch with Kambosos but he cannot say no to a past prime Loma who is a big name, a future HOFer and looked beatable in his last fight.

The lightweight division will get intense if ever Haney climbs the upper weight class and vacates his belt, we will see Tank Davis-Lomachenko-Ryan Garcia-Shakur Stevenson fighting for it as it's their long wanted chance and maybe even Kambosos Jr. will participate the said vacated belts too. But before all of that, I want to see Shakur getting tested by Haney first because these two camps already exchange some words before Haney was set to fight Loma.

I think Garcia and Davis might move up to 140 lbs too, their fight is on a catch weight of 136 lbs, Davis has fought Barrios at 140 lbs and Ryan has struggled keeping up at the weight limit of 135 lbs.

So most likely, it will be Shakur and Loma that will remain in this division. Haney could go up as well depending on the result of his fight with Loma. But most likely as I have said, he will definitely have to move up to welterweight. Loma if he become the champion, will probably remain in this division until he retires, he is small for 140 lbs and he is going to be eaten alive if he decided to move up.

Is that so? Thanks for sharing that mate, I know that Ryan Garcia is somehow struggling to keep his weight at 135, that is why their upcoming fight is a catchweight at 136 but what I didn't know was that Davis will also make his own climb maybe in the next following years because of the same issue. Now, if that will be indeed the case soon then Shakur Stevenson has almost all odds in his favor. But for Haney going to 147 from 136 is quite scary to think, but let's see if he can manage to keep up.

There is a big chance for him to move in my opinion, as I have said, he tasted 140 lbs and successful in his first try against Barrios. Yeah, he could stay and fought Loma/Haney and Shakur for the belt. But sooner or later if his body can't make the weight, then he has no choice then but go move up 1 division and bring his talent there.

And it's all about timing for this guys when they move up, now that Teo has the opportunity to become a champion when he fight Josh Taylor, for sure some of this guys are going to target him, for a bigger paycheck.
1890  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin market speculation for the month on: February 16, 2023, 10:17:48 PM

2. Variables for future uptrend? it's really hard to say, at long as the market stays relatively calm, good news keeps coming in and there are no black swan events, I think the future for bitcoin looks bright.
Do we have to rely on news to give Bitcoin a push-up anytime there is market resistance?
-Because presently,  there is no new to point as the reason for the current recovery of up to 24k+ which is significant enough to speculate especially when the increase in the price of Bitcoin happens rapidly within few hours intervals and has been struggling to cross the 25k in the last 24 hours.
-what type of news are we looking for anyway, I have a strong belief that bitcoin has other factors that determine its price bigger than news.

News like the CPI report is critical for us as someone mentioned. Like the last pivot in February 1, it pushes the price to where we are right now, almost $25k. Maybe you can consider this news as well from SEC:

https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2023-30

Quote
“I support this proposal because, in using important authorities Congress granted us after the financial crisis, it would help ensure that advisers don’t inappropriately use, lose, or abuse investors’ assets,” said SEC Chair Gary Gensler. “In particular, Congress gave us authority to expand the advisers’ custody rule to apply to all assets, not just funds or securities. Further, investors would benefit from the proposal’s changes to enhance the protections that qualified custodians provide. Thus, through this expanded custody rule, investors working with advisers would receive the time-tested protections that they deserve for all of their assets, including crypto assets, consistent with what Congress envisioned.”
1891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 16, 2023, 10:05:22 PM
Ok, so he pleaded guilty on 4 counts and the next hearing is May 5. So one obstacle has been hurdled already, so hopefully then can go back to the negotiation table again and talk about the rematch clause and what not so that the deal can be sign by both parties and then announced the fight officially.

https://www.boxingscene.com/gervonta-davis-pleads-guilty-hit-run-case-baltimore-sentencing-set-5--172521

Everyone is still at the fence for this fight as we all thought that everything is smooth between two camps. So again, we will have to wait in the next couple of weeks, its already 2nd week of February, + 8 weeks or training or more for this two. Time is not on their side, they have to decide whether to make it April or before the next hearing of Davis.

I don't know...  Hit and run on a pregnant lady...  I think the only way he makes this fight is if he gets the case pushed back until after the fight.  I don't see any way he doesn't do some serious jailtime for this and when a high level fighter is subjected to jailhouse treatment for any period of time it usually doesn't end in good results for them.  You don't have to look further than Mike Tyson to know that.  It seems like Davis has been getting himself into a great deal of trouble lately and I think this could very well signal the end of his career as a fighter.  This Ryan Garcia fight, if it takes place, will likely be the climax of his story.

Tyson case though is very different as it was a rape against a 18 year old, I'm not that well versed on criminal law but I guess it's more serious that Davis is facing, and that time everyone is really after Mike Tyson's money.

But I would agree though that this young black american like Davis, who has the fame and money still getting themselves in bad situation and troubles and maybe they are circling themselves with bad people and influence, like Ja Morant of basketball. But I'm still hoping that this fight is going to happen at the second half of the year.

Finally, we will see who is Donaire fighting for the vacant WBC bantamweight title, it will be Alexandro Santiago.

Quote
BoxingScene, com has confirmed that the WBC has approved a vacant bantamweight title fight between Donaire and Mexico’s Alexandro Santiago. The pairing would satisfy the terms of the two highest ranked available contenders vying for one of the four titles left behind by former undisputed champ Naoya Inoue.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman revealed the development during a recent interview with ESPN Knockout, confirming a February 1 news break by BoxingScene.com stating that Santiago was likely next to land the title shot.

https://www.boxingscene.com/nonito-donaire-alexandro-santiago-approved-vacant-wbc-title-date-location-tba--172526

I'm just confused though, I thought the next highest rank is Nawaphon Sor. Rungvisai  and Reymart Gaballo  who will have their own fight as well and I thought the winner will be Donaire's opponent for the vacant belt.

But obviously, I was very wrong hehehe, suddenly Santiago got the nod and I haven't seen his name in the WBC ranking,  Cheesy
1894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 16, 2023, 09:06:11 PM

I thought that there are teams interested or will pursue Russell Westbrook. But if the news is true then this might be the start of Westbrook declining and no team might not be interested on him anymore.

It's a big win for the Lakers, Russell a big help for them with 21 points. That's the kind of numbers that he is expected to bring with the Lakers. A couple of good alleyoop between AD and him, and I think AD will be liking their combination as Russell loves to pass.
Yeah, that's what I've thought of too. But it seems that the news all over him is telling the same thing and it's all about rejection. Looking at the recent news of his transfer to the Utah Jazz, I guess we'll see another tandem of him and JC.
He contributed well to the Lakers and that's expected from him and looking forward to see how it will end up with his development on another team.

Westbrook is still good for at least 2 years, but I think what fit him is the role he got in OKC, I mean the alpha of the team, maybe in tandem with someone but he needs to be the dominant player in my opinion.

So not sure if he will be good in Jazz with JC, Jazz seems to be more of a team basketball, sharing the load of both defense and scoring and maybe having Westbrook might chance the balance.

1896  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin market speculation for the month on: February 16, 2023, 08:43:58 PM
Since the beginning of the year 2023 bitcoin has shown some positive outlook in terms of price recovery compared to the previous years 2022, when bitcoin struggled all through the year trying to sustain its price from dipping to a significantly low level when Bitcoin dip down to as low as $16k.
-But the 2023 has brought in a new market wave and hope for recovery of the market price, this has brought some air of relief to bitcoin holders and the price has recovered back to $24,400+ at the moment.
-This new price recovery has opened the door to for new speculations on the benchmarks Bitcoin will touch in this month of February, just as it did in January-February.
What are your markets predictions for the month?
1: Do you think BTC will break the $25k benchmarks in this month even though there will be a lot of pullback and resistance knowing fully well how close we are to 25k at the moment?
2 What are the variables to consider in making future uptrend predictions?

We are already past the second week of February, so by now we should have a good gauge on what will be the price movement for the month. And it seems that we are in a positive trend again and we could go to $25k or higher. What I mean is that we have seen the price breaking $25k already, but just like any attempt, it was not sustainable the very least. Let's wait till the buyers grow strong again and maybe at the end of the month $26,500 could be touch base.

2. Variables for future uptrend? it's really hard to say, at long as the market stays relatively calm, good news keeps coming in and there are no black swan events, I think the future for bitcoin looks bright.
1897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Heavyweight Boxing 1st April 2023: Joshua vs Franklin on: February 15, 2023, 11:58:18 PM
And for reference, the current odds as per Stake:

So Franklin is 7:1 underdog, and I don't know if he can pull an upset here. This is a must win for Joshua if he still have this plan of an All-British showdown with Tyson Fury in the future. As he has said previously, his motivation is money so he must be motivated here so that he can book the biggest payday of his career before he retires. So I think the pressure is on Joshua's shoulder, but I think he can overcome Franklin with a big statement and morale booster win.

The same after looking at the global odds forecasts in the AJ 1.25 vs 6.3 crawl for Franklin and it looks like Joshua is serious about this fight as he has already stated that the preparation for the fight will be more serious than for the fight with Usyk. But why is he still considered the absolute favorite to win with Franklin, because he still lost the last two fights, and the last knockout he did was more than two years ago.
Battle of stamina I guess. Reach would be a big factor to not be tired quickly; we are talking about heavy weight class. Both are heavy punchers but that won't mean a thing if they wouldn't be able to throw a hundred percent of their strength. I'd I guess go for Franklin on this one. Indeed Joshua has more fights which means experience but I believe franklin would be more eager with this match up. This would be a big break for Franklin which I think would be his 'gas' to be victorious over joshua. Odds won't mean a thing once the bell ring. The outcome will solely depend on the player and his condition. Both are having serious preparations.

Obviously, yes, this are big guys, over 200 lbs and so most likely they will get tired as the first progresses. Unless we will see knockout early, both will be tested in a full 12 rounds. Joshua is motivated to win here, as we have said, new coach and then if he losses, no more big paycheck for him in a Tyson Fury fight. On other hand, Franklin has everything to gain in this fight, so he is also looking for an upset.

Odds are there for a reason, that is the expected probability and so when sports bookies throw some numbers, they are not just guessing it. They are looking at other factors as well, so maybe for boxers it doesn't mean a thing. But for bettors, they will have to look at the odds if they wanted to win some money.
1898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 15, 2023, 11:44:36 PM
^^ Tank will have to go to a another court hearing if I'm not mistaken about another case on his, hit and run. And I think this is one issue that both sides have been looking ever since they want to have this fight because it's out of their control. We don't know what will be the judges decision.

The court hearing of that hit and run charges will be today, February 16, 2023, and his destiny fights with Ryan Garcia relies on the outcome of that hearing as he could face a jail term of up to seven years if proven guilty, that would ruin his boxing career not just the Ryan Garcia fight.

Last time I've checked, the contract for this fight is not yet final so maybe next week we could see progress and a definite schedule once Tank Davis will be cleared on the court from these 14 charges of hit and run.

Yes, everyone is waiting how the court hearing will end today, it could be in his favor or worst, getting a jail time, but for sure they can work it out with the judges though and who knows, community services and some concessions, we might still see this fight in the end.

Agree, maybe we are mislead that the contract is done already, but it's not yet finalized or even sign by both parties including such as rematch clause and other nit and gritty things. So let's wait for it today, for sure the news will be over boxing media later.
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK sponsored by Utopia on: February 15, 2023, 11:35:57 PM
I don't think we should take into account the issue of money here at all, with his popularity and the hype around his persona, Fury will be able to earn (if he needs it) even in exhibition fights. And in general, he no longer suffers from a lack of money  Grin
In the end, it remains: to take all 4 belts and defeat the invincible Usyk and go down in history in the way he dreamed against losing his belts and destroying the entire career that he had built all his life. This bet looks like an all-in bet. I don't like all-ins  Grin

Well why not get a huge payday and then fight for all the belts? So for sure there is this element of money, everyone is after there paycheck, millions to be set for life for him and his family. Even the loser Anthony Joshua will fight because as he has said the motivation is money:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agdkYNLXbhg

Yes, being unified HW champion is one for the history books for Fury, but if there is one big reason to push for this fight, it could be bigger money in the line.

We can argue indefinitely since we can't get inside Fury's head and see what he's thinking. But for me the version that he is overly greedy looks more unlikely compared to the version that he is cunning. Especially if you remember how he ran away from revenge with Klitschko. For me, these are all links in the same chain, and by the way, I'm not saying that only Fury behaves like this - this is the norm for boxing, no matter how sad it may be.

I guess when boxers started to make a name for themselves, then started to feel somewhat greedy and obviously wanted to get more on every fight. So he is more greedy in his career, he has received tons of millions of dollars and wanted to keep it that way. I can only speculate that the fight with Klitschko rematch didn't materialized because this is the start wherein Fury was somewhat very unstable mentally. Again, maybe having a lot of money makes him go spiral downward and just snap in time to bounce back and have a second win in his career and now back on top. And this is the second time he experience it and probably will not want to waste this and so just fighting for his biggest paycheck every time.
1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 15, 2023, 11:24:06 PM
Wow,

https://twitter.com/ESPNRingside/status/1623920701349548032

I don't think this will sit well with Jack Catterall as they have scheduled already a rematch with Josh Taylor. Unfortunately, Josh got injured again and so the fight is called off.

Now this news is circulating that Teo Lopez is not going to fight Josh Taylor next for the title.

So I think this is a bitch move from Top Rank to bypass Catterall. Jack losses the first fight against Josh Taylor but it was very close that there are some insiders who think that Jack won the fight.

And now the WBO make it official by mandating Josh Taylor to schedule a fight with Teo Lopez and Top Rank given 10 days to settle it,

Quote
Chairman Luis Batista Salas outlined the terms of the fight in an official letter which said the WBO is "hereby ordering the commencement of negotiations for the mandatory title defence obligation in the jr. welterweight division between Josh Taylor and Teofimo Lopez, Jr".

"The camps herein are granted 10 days upon issuance of this notice to reach an agreement or purse bid proceedings shall be conducted pursuant to WBO regulations of world championship contests.

"The minimum bid for the jr. welterweight division is 150,000 US dollars. Any of the parties involved may request a purse bid ceremony at any time during the negotiation proces
